You do not understand how much I want a scene in a horror moive where some teen is telling a story and says "They say that ____" and then explain the urban legend or whatever
And someone asks who 'they' is (sarcastically) and they're just like..."My older sibling Kai. You met them at my birthday!"

Sobbing the way you draw the turtle tots is so so cute and there so little sndjdnssnsksmssdisnsjssnsksnsjsnsns 💕🥺
Tot!April and Carol must be dead from the cuteness overload.
Will this just be a comic or like a whole fanfic/au? Will it also take places in the future like in the show or moive?
HHHH thank you so much! ❤❤❤ It's an AU and I'm planning more for the comic itself, have some scenes as they grow up etc! I'm not a fanfic writer by any means but if anyone wants to pick up on the AU/idea they are free to do so!

The BARBIE MOIVE is making me want to put all my responsibilities aside and go dig out my old barbies and dolls from the depths of my closet and just start playing with them like I'm 5 years old. Literally reenacting scenes, makig them go on stupid adventures. Literally I just want to spend a chill day hanging out with the "old gang" and forgetting that I'm a university student with 😭ReSpOnSiBiLitIeS😭
Here's the trailer in case you have no idea what I'm talking about

Honestly I'm kind of curious what exactly is going to happen in the sequel since ignoring the post credit scene the film extensively wrapped itself up perfectly.
Like Hawkmoths defeated, Marinette and Adrien know each other's identities and were seconds away from kissing before the end card dropped(which f u moive for doing that)
Honestly we could always get Nathalie doing a 'second verse, same as the first' with her being Mayura instead of quitting like Gabriel did until they talk sense into her. Given the discussion on Gabriel's identity being revealed, she could be trying to save him from jailtime as well.
Or different motivations. Bring back the fucked up villain 'I want to use the Wish to make him love me' Nathalie idea.
Maybe we could get new non-Miraculous Villains.
Maybe we'll get a different Fu backstory so whatever destroyed the Order is coming for his ass
Maybe they'll do Villain!Lila right

Miraculous LadyBug Movie and Why I don't Like it
Alright instead of me stalling let’s get right into why I don’t like the Miraculous ladybug movie.
Warning Spoilers ahead!!!!
First let’s start with the obivious that they didn’t let ladybug’s VA sing and instead found someone else to sing for her. Shouldn’t have done that especially when she has a good and wonderful voice.
Second, let’s talk about the songs but also the way the movie was set up. Starting off with song one. The song wasn’t bad and that’s not my problem with the song. My problem with the song has to do with the structure of the movie. The move is supposed to be an origin story for both ladybug and chat noir, but it seems we only get ladybug character development. The song started right by letting us in on ladybug’s character, but it should have jumped to Adrien so we can see what his issue is, but nope all we get is a small scene of him with a cat and suddenly he’s the playful and pun loving chat noir that we all know and love.
That is one of my main issues with the movie (and show) is the fact that we do not get enough character development with Adrien. I am so glad we have that scene. You know the one, the one where Adrien finally stands up to his father, because I’m sorry if everyone likes this Gabriel the facts remain that no matter how much he loves his son he still neglected him. It’s like the show will not let Adrien feel anything unless it’s to do with his feelings for Marinette or ladybug. My proof in this is the two songs that he’s in, in the movie. The first one is fully about his feelings, while the second one ends in him confessing his feelings to ladybug.
It seems to me that the only other time we fully touch on Adrien and his problems with his father is the Christmas special.
Issue two I have with the movie is that to me it doesn’t follow the rules of the universe. So the ending fight between bug, chat, and hawk Chat uses his major power, his cataclysm, but he also uses it again without plagg turning him back and getting a food break. This is just one of the examples I could find, but while I watched the movie I’m pretty confident that I saw more.
Issue three, the orgin story moive does not follow the canon. I know this show goes through a lot, but I expected an orgin story to follow canon. Ladybug and chat noir are not supposed to know who each other are, yet ladybug finds out and at the end and then shows who she is to chat noir or Adrien.
Issue four, if you are not going to follow canon then comit! Do not let them reveal to each other and then cop out on the ending kiss!!! Some of us have been waiting for this for years!!!! But no we can’t have them kiss on screen when they finally know the full truth of each other!
Issue four, How can Hawkmoth just use telekneiss on ladybug’s miraculous? Like I might be an idiot, but that is fully what looked like had happened in the movie.
This is a preference but I hated the ending fight between Hawkmoth and our heroes. I hated it with every fiber in my being. Since it does not follow canon I just can’t accept that this is what happens for their origin story.  It makes me so mad that Hawk moth just stops everything because he learns that chat noir is his son? I just don’t belive that. Maybe it could happen because he’s not so in deep yet, but it’s just not good to me.
Issue five, Marinette having feeling for chat noir. We all know it happens eventually (season five I’m looking at you) but in the show she can barely get a word out to Adrien because she likes him so much. She doesn’t seem to struggle as much in the movie.
How I personally think the movie should have gone is a lot simpler. Keep the musical, it was a really good idea. Let Marinette’s og VA sing for her. Give Adrien some background and let him and Marinette sing back and forth in the opening song so we can see what’s happening on both sides. Have marientte still feel unsure of himself, but also give Adrien a struggle of accepting Plagg and becoming chat noir. Keep Marinette’s duet with Tikki, but Give Adrien and Plagg their own song.
You can keep their partner song if you take out the verse of Marinette falling for Adrien. Have the moive show them both overcoming their struggles and this big battle be them accepting the change they have gone through and then the show can easily pick up on season 1 episode 1.
Show us a more detailed story of Gabriel and Emille. Either give him a song of singing about her, or a backstory duet of the both of them, but remember this is a Gabriel song, not a Hawkmoth song. Keep his song as Hawkmoth because it is really good.
The final battle should have a song as well, of the two finally accepting what they are changing into and how it’s making them better people, along with them maybe fully learning how to fix the mess hawkmoth created (the ending of the movie did this really great, but if you’re going to make a musical then commit!)
Last give an ending song, about how the story isn’t over but it’s just beginning. A good example of this would be The Last Day of Summer from the Percy Jackson Musical. That is a good song that tells you that the story is over for now, but it will continue again in the future.
If you don’t like the musical idea then guess what you can stick with the same concept without the songs! Main thing is making it to where you know the movie can pick up on S1 Ep1 while giving Adrien some actual character development!
Their’s a lot more that I very much dislike about the movie, but unless I put myself through a rewatch of it right away, I’m not going to be able to remember them all. Let me tell you something I liked about the movie.
I loved the animation and thought that it was really good. You can tell that they were given a better budget for the movie and I hope they keep it for the show. If they don’t keep it for the show then maybe the specials they keep releasing on Disney +
I loved Marinette’s character at the beginning and showing how she truly had to go through a few motions to get where she is. I like how at first she wasn’t able to stand up for chole but then she gained the confidence to talk back to her.
I love the songs. I thought that they were all great and gave us awesome visuals, like I said I just think the show is giving Marinette special treatment because she is the main character. Chat noir is not her sidekick he is her partner and thus deserves to have plenty of screen time as well.
Last thing I really like is something I already mentioned, it’s how Adrien stood up to his father. Sorry that I didn’t like many things, but I keep getting my hopes up for this show even when I know I shouldn’t and then things like this happen.

I'm back. Self hateing can be a bitch, but i want to try go back to this. thx for reading!
Movies
Tumblr media
SaltBurn (2023) Dir. Emerald Fennell
I watched this movie high and drunk on New Year, and I think it added to it the wried factor that the flim proudly wants to see as. Thought a month after watching and being able to actully sit on what the movie was trying to say, as well as all the discouse that came with it, i would have to say it only an ok movie. I did like how he movie look and many of the actor gave good performace, but like other then, it felt like the movie never went far enogh with it idea it wanted to present and more or less felt like it was following the trend of eat the rich movie rather then actully haveing anything to say about the ideas of wealth. And beacuse of that muddling of themes the outrangeuose scenes that the movie dose present, they come off less like an exploration of themes and more like they got together and was like "Omg wouldn't it be crazy if x did that" 4/10 (also highly recomomed Yhara Zayd video on the movie, )
Tick Tick Boom(2021) Dir. Lin-Manuel Miranda
I rewatched this moive with friend and i still pretty good. Alot of the songs are really good especially the last, I think it the best one in the soundtrack. Not much else to say 7/10
Shows
Tumblr media
Pokemon Concierge (2023)
This show was so cute. It was just something light that i would put on while eating breckfast before work. I mainly watch it for the anmation as I it by the same people who did the Rilakkuma and Kuora, which is another light sweet show I enjoyed! Over all, it very short sweet and cute! (6/10)
Tumblr media
Better Call Saul (2015) S1
I really like breaking bad and as well as El Comino as think both are so good are exploreing the idea of manhood. But dispit me love both of those i've always put off watching better call saul, mostly because back when the frist season came out I hear it was only ok. After watching it I did think I was very intriguing but also kinda slow, which I kinda get why, it seem that there setting up alot for the later season, but I still found a bit of slog to get thought in comparsion to breaking bad. But i also really am interested in the ideas of justitce and the law which they seems to be setting up. Thought with the last episode of the seson I kinda just thought it was ok, like oh that it? I am looking forward to watching the other season but I am no real rush to watch it (7/10)
Books
Tumblr media
I Don't Which Is Love by Tamamushi Oku
I'm trying to read more manga, and i saw people talk about this on tik tok and thought it was very cute and it was......ok? It was kinda cute?? I thought I would like it since it yuri but i think the harme part of it ruin it and relised i hate harme no matter what gender, which is more of me not liking a trope rather then there being actul anthing wrong with the manga. Over all it was fine, very cute art, i dont think it's for me (2/5)
Tumblr media
The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks
Omg this fucking book. It been on my tbr for years and I read it in two session and thought it was very good dispit being a book aimed at like 14 year old and I say If i was 14 I would be traumatised by reading this. I like how dark the story was and how it wasn't afraid to hold back from any subject which I general do like in media aimed towards children and teens. I would recommend it if you want to read something easy while still being interesting (4/5)
Songs I love:
Mama Boy-Dominic Fike
Dear Diane- Diners
Tom's Diner-Suzanne Vega
I Love You- Fontaines D.C.
Kites- N.E.R.D (Kendrick Lamar, MIA)

Matilda the Musical is my less favorite movie ever // ranting
if any of this is hard to understand , english isnt my main and i am not sober
I am a big musical fan , my started learning english because i fell in love with musical and because of my love for the Matilda (1996) movie , i had the vhs for it and it was one of the first movies i ever saw . I love this movie with all of my heart and i love the book its based off , so when i found out they had remade it i wanted to watch it . so i found it online and watched it one night well i was really tired , hoping that i would love this moive just as much as i did for the Matilda 1996 movie . th movie fucking sucked and i hated it so much that i have breakdowns every other week because i rememmber its real . they made to many changes to from one to the other , cut out a bunch of inportant stuff , changed and added characters, and thw worse thing of all they fucking removed Micheal (the brother) . micheal didnt add alot to the plot but added alot of motive to the characters , being the oldest and getting more care from his parents helps show that Matilda is neglected by her parents , showing the child that the parents love vs the one they hate shows alot of what Matilda doesnt want to be , which give a easy goal to think about until the plot picks up . they cut out the scene of the dad and Agatha with the car , where he learns about the school and gives Agatha a reason to dislike matilda straight away unlike in the 2022 movie where she just doesnt like matild . Agatha is given way to much forces , yes shes the villain but the 2022 movie makes her less of a villian and more just a poor out of luck soul , shes a good villian in the first moive because you dont feel bad for her and shes easy to hate , but in the 2022 version you start to feel bad for her story. i think the 2022 movie would work well if it wasnt a remake of the first moive, if you put the 2022 movie alone without putting it next to the 1996 one , its a decent movie , but the second you put it next to something like the 1996 verison its upsetting because it didnt need a remake , it was good , its a good movie , not a prefect one but a good movie nonetheless . the remake adds this traveling library instead of the the large public libary like in the 1996 one , the idea is ok but its not played off the greatest and generally i find it annoying , adding this character matilda could go to for help makes me not want her to win as much because they is lying when she could just ask something to this lady and have the chance of getting help but she doesnt , the world feels brighter and happyer in the 2022 version where in the 1996 it feels dark and isolated , as a child i could sympathize with matilda and see how she was struggling and i wanted her to win and be able to find a better life and the pay off was good , she got a better life . but with the 2022 movie she isnt really struggle , yeah its a bit sad but she seems mostly content with her life and not as resentful to her family , which just makes her happy ending bittersweet to me , cause it doesnt really feel all that earned . i migyht rant more about this today if i think of it again -OM

I’m here to prove that Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Spider-man/peter parker in The Amazing Spider-Man is objectively the best love action adaptation of the character. In this essay I will....(yes this is really happening)
Edit: 10/20/20- i want to indulge myself in spiderman content but finding non mcu spiderman content is exhausting so imma update this instead
TL;DR
Andrew Garfield is my favorite of the 3 Spider-Man actors. TAS’s Peter is more fun and dynamic than the cookie cutter “shy introverted nerd that has a crush on a girl who’s way out of his league” Peter in Tobey Maguire’s movies. I enjoy Tom Holland’s portrayal of the character, but hate the way Disney has written the movies.  I enjoy the characters, plot, and humor of The Amazing Spider-Man far more than the other 2, and i deeply wish we had gotten the third movie with the canon BIder-Man of Andrew’s (and my) dreams.
[DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT SEEN THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 OR ANY MCU SPIDERMAN MOVIES OUTSIDE OF CLIPS AND REVIEWS ITS ALSO BEEN A VERY HOT MINUTE SINCE IVE SEEN A TOBEY MAGUIRE MOVIE]
Characterization
Most arguments against Andrew Garfield’s Spidey( AG’s from now on) begin and ends with “he was a good Spider-Man but a bad Peter Parker”. This references an outdated post comparing all three Spidey actors.(Id attach the image here but i dont want the post to be too long(thats a lie this is so long what am i doing with my life)) The post also claims that Tobey played a good Peter and a poor Spidey; and that Tom is good at both “roles”.(Honestly I think it seems silly that this seems obey the “third time’s the charm” rule but thats just me).  Most people using this seem to be Tobey stans who have forgotten or ignored the rest of the post funnily enough, but the ones that go further into the WHY AG is a poor Peter are also incorrect. This argument also ignores the idea that there can be more than one version of Peter Parker which is blatantly incorrect.  Just look at Into the Spiderverse or the PS4 game; these provide 4(5 if you count the pig) versions of Peter themselves, and that doesnt even include the comics.
Arguments that go further in depth claim that the AS Peter is too cool or well liked by his peer to be a “true” Peter Parker. The evidence for this seems to be that Peter has a skateboard.(which what? didnt realize that having a skateboard would instantly make you cool brb guys). Adding to that i dont really see where people get the idea that Peter is popular or well liked. While looking for complaints i found this qutoe from reddit(theyve since deleted it looks like but i’ll add a link in the notes) “He's angsty, pretty socially awkward, has an aptitude for science, and is kind of an outsider. He gets bullied by Flash and he gets his ass kicked after trying to stand up to Flash. He isn't a "cool" person in any way (until the ending, in which he's best buds with Flash, so I'll give you that). While Maguire is more accurate to the 60s comics where Peter in high school is just a fucking loser with basically no friends, in the ultimate comics, Peter is more of the kid who has a small amount of friends, but isn't popular.”. Honesty i fully agree with this because once again, other versions of a character are allowed to exist. You can dislike one version, but its silly to dislike something for not being exactly like another thing.
Ive also heard that Peter isnt “nerdy enough” in this movie which really doesnt make any sense considering the entire plot happens because Peter was looking into some of his parents’ research. If he wasn't interested in looking further into his father’s work what reason would he have to go to Oscorp where he’s bitten by the spider? Why would he have become Dr. Conner’s assistant? If he wasn’t intelligent how did he develop the web shooters?(something that Tobey!Peter doesn't have to do out of plot convenience might i add).
Another complaint i see is that the quips he uses in the movie(the first one specifically it seems) makes him seem like an asshole. Honestly thats a fair complaint, but i think its a good bit of characterization; espcially if he does get better about it in the second movie like the internet suggests. The Peter in this movie is a rightfully angsty teen; of course he acts a bit of an ass to criminals(also i feel like its important to mention that he’s like that to criminals? its not like hes being a dick for no reason).
Compare this with the Tobey Maguire(TM) movies. Like i said i haven’t seen these in awhile but as far as i’m aware TM’s Peter doesn't really do anything particularly nerdy in the film? I may have forgotten something( ok in the scene before he gets bitten he knows a cool spider fact) but he doesn’t have to invent the web-shooters because they came with his powers and he’s only at Oscorp in the first place because it’s a school field trip that he appears to be taking photos for. This Peter does fit the definition of outcast(friendless and bullied for it), but honestly i just dont like him. He’s weird and something about the character makes me feel like i should be a little grossed out every time he looks at MJ at the beginning of the movie.
I honestly don’t have any complaints for Tom Holland’s(TH’s)Spidey. Tom is a great actor and from what ive seen i enjoy his portrayal of the character.( He made me cry when i character i actively dislike died).
Story
I cant really say much for TAS story. It’s interesting but nothing special really. However, there is one scene that i don’t think i’ve seen anything like since( the closest would probably be the train scene in the original trilogy).
The crane scene. Early in the film Peter saves a boy from a car that has fallen off of a bridge, and at the end of the movie this becomes relevant again when it is uncertain that Peter will be able to get to the lizard to stop him in time.(as Peter is already injured and pretty far from the lizard’s location). The boy’s father is then revealed to be a construction worker who recognizes that Spider-man is going to need help to get to the lizard; he remembers how Spider-Man saved his son and organizes the rest of the construction workers to build a path out of crane arms for SM to swing from. All of them are putting themselves in danger by not evacuating, but SM’s actions in the first act of the film motivate them to do what’s right.
I love this scene primarily because it highlights something that i think is a really important part of Spider-Man’s character; his connection to the people he saves. SM is often shown interacting with and chatting with the people he has saved after the fact. One comic shows Peter accidentally scaring some bullies and then taking the time to ride the bus to school with them to continue their conversation and educate the students on bullying.( There’s definitely more but this is off the top of my head).
Another scene in TAS that i love is shortly before the crane scene when Peter is originally attempting to make his way across the city to stop the lizard, and he is shot down by the police. They manage to unmask him before Peter comes to his senses( he had just been shot and fallen pretty far out of the sky in his defense). From there Peter is able to deal with the police while keeping any of them from getting a good look at his face. The one cop he cant take out happens to be Gwen Stacey’s father who had previously had an argument with Peter about Spider-Man(Peter obviously on SM’s side and Mr. Stacey against SM). Peter turns and allows Captain(?) Stacey to see his face. I believe that this is an example of an unwilling identity reveal done right. i really enjoyed this moment because Peter had just shown that he likely could have gotten out of this encounter with his identity in tact as he had just taken down however many men. This implies that it was an active choice on Peter’s end to trust that Captain Stacey would ultimately do the right thing and allow Peter to go fight the Lizard, rather than a final desperate attempt to get away unscathed. Whether or not this interpretation of the scene is correct or not it still gives the character a bit more agency than some versions have done with their identity reveals.
In Spider-Man 2 Peter starts to lose his powers because he’s having internal conflict about wether or not he should be Spider-Man. Honestly thats kinda neat and i might want to give that a rewatch. As for the one i have seen i don’t have any complaints. I do however prefer the way that Peter was bitten in TAS because it was a result of him poking around where he shouldn’t’ve been rather than him just happening to be standing in the right place for a spider to land on him.
Onto TH’s movies; the way Disney has treated Spidey in the MCU is why TH’s is my least favorite version of the character. I feel like too much of the story revolves around Iron Man; Iron Man made Peter’s suit and equipment, Iron Man introduces Peter to the MCU(via blackmail but thats another rant for another annoyingly long post), its Iron Man that “makes” Spidey in this universe rather than Spidey being self-made. In Homecoming(which remember i havent seen outside of clips so bear with me) most of the conflict is cause directly or indirectly by Tony’s refusal or inabilty to communicate with the teenager he’s meant to be mentoring
For one the entire incident with the ferry could have very easily been avoided had Tony bothered to communicate with Peter enough to tell him that the situation was being taken care of. On top of that at the moive’s climax Peter is shown trying to get in contact with Happy(from what ive picked up isnt he a chauffeur? like idk his deal i just know he’s someone Peter got pawned off onto after Civil War). Peter even goes as far as to somehow hack into Happy’s phone(i think thats what happened it was a weird tech thing that shouldve been a red flag that the call was important though) but instead of listening; Peter is ignored. If this was a different kind of movie Peter literally could have died and itd be the fault of Happy and Tony like..... A large portion of conflict comes from characters being incompetent and not communicating and thats just poor storytelling.
Before this turns too much into an anti mcu rant id also like to say that the way they did Civil War was really dumb considering that Peter defects to Cap’s side in the comics, but whatever.
Also i loathe the way they handled the identity reveal at the end of Far From Home. With MCU movies most people know to expect an end credits scene by now, but typically that scene is not important to understand what’s happening in the films; they just aren’t important. Putting an identity reveal here makes it seem significantly less important than it is. On top of that i dislike their use of J Jonah Jameson for this scene.
JJJ is a character who has been repeatedly shown to have a genuinely good heart. All of his anger comes from a place of love for his city(he even says this hemself in the ps4 game when May writes in to tell him that he needs help). He hates Spider-Man because SM reminds him of the masked man who killed his wife; JJJ has never been able to get past that( and Peter’s antagonism of him definitely doesnt help) However, JJJ has been shown to care for people; he has a son who he often brags about, and one comic shows that JJJ is paying Peter for “amateur” quality photos because he knows that Peter is having a hard time and “just need some help”. JJJ has even learned Peter’s identity before and kept his secret for him(seriously though i cant remember the name of the comic but its defiantly worth the read), and in the original trilogy when Goblin threatens JJJ he claims that he doesn’t know who sends in the photos of Spidey because he does it via email( this is a lie). The MCU will have a very difficult time convincing me that JJJ would ever out a teenager’s identity and put him in danger like that. It goes too far against his character.(this could be hypocritical of me to say considering how i just insisted that multiple versions of a character can exist but whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
This is accidentally turning into an MCU rant but id also like to say that i hate the lack of a TH!Spidey origin movie because it gives you no motivaion for Peter becoming SM or explanation of his powers; most people will know these things but if youre unfamiliar with the character its bound to be confusing(and im a sucker for origin movies)

could you elaborate on Brainy not considering himself a real child?
Sure I can try, if my brain will allow it.
Like I said I made this observation due to Brainy (and Kara’s) relation to fake flowers, now i admit this is flimsy.
but there is some ground that might state that Brainy dose consider himself ‘less’ then people round him when it comes to life experiences,
we know his friendship skills are limited to the super-friends and the legion, (this is important)
so when i say he sees himself as not a real child, I mean he is comparing himself to his friends ideals of childhood and his experiences with his childhood years by comparison
so basically Brainy measures this the was he dose everything else
knowledge+ experience= result (success or fail)
now we know Brainy is still learning basic friendship despite 7 years with the legion. (but mind you the legion is filled with different alien cultures and ideals all together, so they don’t have as strict social rules as earth does in 21st centenary)
friendship skills like this are ones that are picked up in childhood, good or bad habits are formed things like
1, holding conversation (small talk, personal talk, general talk and professional talk like with teachers or authority's)
2, physical boundary’s (how to respond or engage with people, hugs, shoulder pats, kisses ect)
3, peer commodity (Brainy is already very good at this one, e.g team work, knowing peoples limits and having understanding of peoples skills)
4, mutual benefits (two sided convo, enjoying each-others company, doing shared interests games, sports, moives ect)
(now mind you i have on clue how these effect people on the spectrum or other things similar to it so take my thoughts with a grain of salt)
but Brainy has shown that he is capable of learning or adapting to these concepts into his relationships with people just in his own way, (Alex is the best example of this most of their scenes from s4)
so I think this is part of why he see’s himself as ‘lesser’
as he knows he is able to learn and do these things so that makes him think he should have done it sooner.
[Also note that Brainy was the one who called the group superfriends when he was trying to recruit Nia]
so not being a ‘real child’ is more of a mind set he has, as he knows he did not have a childhood in any senses of the word, and he is making up for lost time, (having friends and relationships ect) and is not wanting to relive or ‘redo’ his childhood, as he is an adult and he wants to be treated as such,
but with that comes a sense of ‘letting go’ of the idea he was a child at all, as that space is just a blank to him, sort of a ‘before I became me’ time frame.
that person was not free (ancestral memory) and was not well put together (was not raised right) so since brainy was not the one with control he see it as a time as ‘not being him’.
so that person (a child) kind of dose not exist in his mind, in that he can’t categorise himself that way like say the other label's he has for himself like ex-criminal, scientist, legionnaire, hero, super-friend.
child is not one he would use or has used
he has said things like ‘i was a criminal’ ‘when i was with the legion’ and ‘I become a superhero’
so child is not what he has ever seen in himself as.
and with him being around people how did have childhoods (that fit what he has come to understand it anyway)
this made that time and his experiences less real and more ‘blank’

Fantastic Retcons and Where to Find them 2: The Misdoings of Grindelwald
Tumblr media
*Sighs* Why, just, why?
Caution, may have spoilers!
I’ll start by saying that while this is by no means an awful movie, it;s still not good.
Visually? Yes it is quite stunning. Except for the beginning where I could barely tell what the hell was going on. Did it really have to be a heavy storm?
Plotwise? It was a mess. If I were to tell someone what this moive is about I could not sum it up in a sentence. And that is bad. The plot should be simple to follow and not a tangled mess of characters and plot threads that go nowhere.
Like, take the plot point of Tina and Newt being awkward with each other. It seemed to so forced, so contrived. Just so that we can have some drama. Same with Jacob and Queenie.
They literally could have resolved the Tina and Newt drama if Newt told her the first time she saw her that he was not marrying Leta. But nooo we have to stretch it.
Characterwise? The same mess.
There were soooo many characters that shouldn’t have been there yet they were.
Nagini? Jus there so people can say ‘Hey isn’t that Voldemort’s snake?’
Nicolas Flamel? He is there so people can remember this film still has some ties with the HP cannon.
Bunty? Just there so we can be told just how popular Newt is with women. I swear she appears out of nowhere, no explanation given as to how the hell Newt decided to get help and why. She swoons over Newt a bit and then disappears as if she were not there in the first place, bearing no significance to the plot whatsoever. And that is the case with a loot of characters.
The woman helping Grindewald? totally irrelevant, he could be working alone but she’s there to be this sort of Bellatrix Lestrange only way less intetesting.  Yusuf Kama? useless and added just for creating drama.
Queenie? well she was just plain stupid. We know Jacob loves her so why the hell did she need to enchant him. Just so he can agree to marry her? I swear it s like we lost about an hour of movie in between Part 1 and Part 1 of Fantastic Beasts. She then has a breakdown, I guess? because she can’t find Tina and because she lost Jacob and has a massive headache from hearing everyone s thoughts and then BAM she is picked up and taken to meet Grindelwald, after which she has a change of heart.
That creepy woman at the french Ministry of Magic was just so out of place. She existed just to have this evil grin on her face and sic her evil cats on Newt and Tina. (ok i know they’re not cats but still).
Side note: it was never explained why Queenie could not find Tina at the french Ministry of Magic. Like TIna is an auror so she should be in their records. unless she was lying? Who cares that subplot takes us nowhere.
There were so many problems in this movie that I honestly have no idea where to start.
First, why the hell is McGonagall a teacher at Hogwars during Leta and Newt’s time if we know she was born in 1935? Just how do you mess that up?
Why is casting Avada Kevadra as easy as taking candy from a kid? In the HP canon this spell is supposed to be incredibly hard to cast and it requires a lot of power from the caster, as well as for them to essentially rip a part of their soul every time they cast it. Yet here they’re casting it like it’s nothing. Even an auror goes as far as to cast it. Oh and all of this is done nonverbally even though we know that only extremely powerful wizards and witches can perform nonverbal magic. But whatever.
Why is the Mirror of Erised showing the past as opposed to showing one’s deepest desire like in the current canon? Dumbledore should not be seeing that scene with him and Grindewald making a blood pact. That’s not how the Mirror of Erised works.
How in the everloving fuck do muggles not notice the giant flying carriage at      the beginning of the movie? One can assume it was enchanted to not be seen but we’re given no indication of that. And on the same note, how the hell did the muggles not question the GIANT cat like monster that was wrecking havoc on their streets? When Newt and the others come out of the sewers we see the beast doing its thing and I don t think that those scared people were wizards. They had cars, they had to be muggles. Wizards don’t have technology like that.
How, just how can Credence be a Dumbledore? Why retcon what we know about the Dumbledore family like that? Where would a forth sibling even fit in? And why did Credence have to be related to one of the major wizarding families. Credence was already interesting, what with having an obscurial, you did not need this subplot movie. I mean fine he can search for his family but in the end he could have learned that it doesn’t matter where he comes from or who he was but who he is now and that he can still be loved and all that. Tossing him around and making it seem like he is a Lestrange only to just mindfuck us at the end and say he is a Dumbledore is just awful.
Many fans are hoping Grindewald is lying and while I kinda hope too because at least we d get rid of this stupid plot point, I am afraid he is not and that it will just be a permanent thing.
What else? Ah, yes!
Well the acting was ok.
Johnny Depp as Grindewald was nothing noteworthy. The movie tried so hard to convince us he was evil that it was becoming cartoony.
Grindewald got rid of his pet. See? See how bad he is?
Grindewald had a baby killed. See? He is evil.
Grindewald killed one of his followers. He is super evil.
Grindewald killed some strangers to take their apartment and then stood outside as their bodies were being taken away in coffins just so that we can see what an evil motherfucker he is.
Goddammit movie WE GET IT he is evil.
But you see the problem is just this. We know Grindewald is an awful person, we don’t need it hammered in like we’re 5 year olds.
I am still upset over the fact that Collin Farrell could not be Grindewald. He would have been amazing at it.
I fee like, while Jonny Depp was not bad, it just felt like another one of his characters where he gets over the top make up and that s it. I would have loved if he looked more normal. I mean with Voldy it made sense he looked weird as fuck, it was his doing. What s Grindewald’s excuse?
Oh and also Zoë Kravitz can’t act. And her backstory about killing her brother was stupid. She did not want to harm him yet she took her infant brother and put him in another room WHILE THE SHIP THEY WERE ON WAS SINKING. Yeah I’m sure you meant well, dear. And another thing: she said that he was crying all the time but...they have magic. Ok, weak magic cus their caretaker was a half-elf but still. Is there no spell that can shut up a baby?
Jude Law was fantastic. Just fantastic.
Also big points for using the original actors for young Dumbledore and Grindewald. Stroke of genius there. Wish we could see more of them.
And now for the last part: the PANDERING
Oh my god the pandering.
We waste time at Hogwarts because the movie wants to pander to its audience namely the HP fans and their nostalgia. Every shot was thought up like that.
See? It’s Hogwarts. remember that?
See? It’s DADA classes. Neat right?
See? Random classroom. Pretty cool right?
See? Random flashback showing parts of Hogwarts and its grounds. Amazing isn’t it?
It didn’t feel like the story needed us to visit Hogwarts. There was no crucial plot point that demanded that. It was just pure nostalgia.
It’s ok to be nostalgic, it’s ok to be happy to see Hogwarts. I was, but that is not the point of this movie. Yet it is. In fact, that’s what they are counting on to keep selling tickets.
Tumblr media
All in all I think it’s a movie who had no idea what it wanted to be so it just was all of it at once.
A lot of characters, a lof of plot threads, a lot of things that just do not add up.
I give it a 5 out of 10.

the emoji movie
right. i paid fifteen fucking dollars to see the emoji movie. here are my thoughts on the absolute fucking horseshit that was the ‘emoji movie’.
- when gene and high five first meet jailbreak, they have no time for proper introductions because they’re being chased by bots. they end up in the candy crush app. suddenly, jailbreak knows both their names? despite not having any formal introduction aside from “me and my friend need help from a haxor”. i mean, i get assuming what high five’s name is, but.. gene’s? so, yeah.
- they drop this random feminist line in. gene says something, and jailbreak says something along the lines of “men taking women’s ideas and taking credit for them”. never again, throughout the entire movie, is this elaborated on. the emojis never properly react to it, nor is it brushed up upon.
- at one point, gene bumps into some emojis (who i forget because they were not in the slightest memorable), and in the most western voice, says “oh, konnichiwa”, and it’s fucking ridiculous
- there’s also a bit where gene walks up to a clock emoji, asks what the time was, and the clock says “my eyes are up here”
- they never once elaborate on how many other malfunctions there are. even IF they did, the anti-virus bots zoom in on gene’s dad. he’s a malfunction- why didn’t the bots destroy him when they were out to destroy all malfunctions
- smiler dies? how? she gets crushed by a robot, but she still has enough time to say something. when the phone comes back from being deleted, neither she, nor the robot are there, despite everything else being restored.
- you have to go through strenuous amounts of effort to restore deleted phone data. deleted shit. the kid just unplugged his phone from a computer and got all his data back.
- there is a lot of sexual tension between gene/jailbreak, and the poop emoji and steven. i’m just saying.
- the movie goes on about taunting kids for using emojis all the time, but at the end of the movie, the emojis... save the day? so what was the movie’s real aim, then?
- the just dance woman was probably the most tragic death in the entire emoji movie
- there’s a dance scene at the end, and i broke out into a fit of hysteric crying because of how fucking ridiculous the poop emoji was animated in that scene. it was absolutely terrible.
- they milked the whole ‘internet troll’ trope try. at one point in the movie, hi-5 and the internet trolls are in this trash can. the internet troll keeps telling him that no one cares about him, and then the high-five gets rescued. as the high five’s getting saved, he keeps going on about how he believes in himself, yada yada. they make this joke in the movie at LEAST three times.
- the only good things i can applaud the movie on is that jailbreak was probably a lesbian, and the movies inane ability to make it seem like for-fucking-ever. like, we were just 20 minutes into the movie, but it had felt like 2 hours.
- literally any of patrick stewart’s lines, except for “this is a bit too far”. any of them. i feel so bad for that man, actually
i’m not quite sure what to tell you. the movie theatre was deathly quiet for. most the moive, and it was filled with children. i don’t think i had a genuine laugh throughout the entire movie. it’s really only entertaining when you’re on a lethal amount of benadryl. please don’t waste your money..j...j just read an online review or pirate it

BLOG 1 - WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS
This topic is quite Contraverstional as this is the most commonly asked question. But to be honest there are millions of people in the world which means they are millons of arguments millions of ideas. And none of them are correct. Everyone are right in there own way and manner. So, maybe this is just my point of view or my argument towards this topic
Isn't it quiet strange to Even ask a person where do you see your self atleast Tommorow??and isn't it even possible or even imaginable that where would I even be after 10 years?
10 Years is a long time to even plan a specific point of your life. You can't even imagine what will the situation be at times. For example 3 years ago a person answering this same question and having a specific plan about the next 10 years of his whole life and practicing very hard for it. But who would have predicted about the dangerous disease corona virus spread across the world within a span of time. Which made the persons living so hard that he couldn't catch up with the plan and now this whole plan has been destroyed within seconds.
I always say to my self that life is just like a movie. But with an unpredictable script written. You have different people like your friends and family as your characters and you yourself as the lead role. Your different situations as your movies scenes and the unpredictable script is your moves and how you face the different scenes/situations
Everything is unpredictable..
Like!!
Who knows??
Who knows?? What's coming next. If you have a plan who knows it will work or maybe it worked but who knows you will like it later? Maybe you hate your own plan?
Maybe I would have changed my mind over things. Maybe the characters leave the movie unfinished. Maybe the characters change and not be in there role what you expected them to be. Maybe they are new characters coming. Maybe everything didn't go as plan or maybe everything did go as plan but you don't know what to do next So you make another plan but now you don't know where to start or Maybe you would have been just dead?
To be honest 10 years could also be 5% of our whole life. And as we know life is so unexpected. That even imagining half a percent of it would be so impractical and as I said before no one knows whats happening tommorow. Then how could we even imagine about the next 10 years of our entire life..
And as I even said there are millions of people with millons of mind sets. For some of them 10 Years may not seem like a long period of time. They may have different plans like if plan A doesn't work I might go with plan B..
What about those??
The answer would be really simple. Life is long but not as long as we think. We may die at any moment. We may not have all the time to test all our plans. and even if we do have time to test the plans. Then one day you will be just ran out of plans. With no other choices...
What's wrong to have a plan??
It's not at all wrong to have a plan like this. But there are people who work so hard and still couldn't succeed over these things and not get what they wanted. Which causes anxiety, depression and self doubting problems...
But if the plan goes as you want it to be.
Then that's the best moment of your entire life.
So, What's the perfect answer for this question??
Actually there is no perfect answer for any Question. Some or the other thing will be missing but as I said it's just my point of view towards this topic
According to me your whole focus on your main plan should be Just be a better you in the upcoming years. It's your life your movie with not only 10 years in it there is a huge life ahead. They are different people around you like your boss, colleague, friends, shop keeper uncle, your houses watchman your parents or anyone else. They also have there own moive/life and it depends on you that how you behave around them and yourself. Will you choose to be a hero of yours and there's movie/life or will you just be a side character or a villan.
Your behaviour more depends than your work in this world. Everyone works hard. But Live a life like that. If you die everyone cry. They are people waiting for your death. So don't waste your time working for an unpredictable plan. Make everyone else believe that you are here for a reason. Make your self more happy. Don't wait for the years to pass. Work for your tommorow And trust me years will pass as If it was just yesterday...

two things here
1) i still don’t understand why n’jadaka was allowed to challenge t’challa for the throne, or even if he wanted to challenge t’challa why t’challa accepted. or why the elder council went along with it... now i understand that n’jadaka wasn’t around for the official challenge day, but if you can just pop into the palace any ‘ol time you want to challenge for the throne what is the purpose of the challenge day scene earlier in the moive? admittedly this could be a comic book thing and since i have never read a black panther comic i can’t really judge it too harshly. i’m fine to stay in peace.
2) n’jadaka’s motivations to help black people that have been oppressed and treated unjustly is one that i respect and as far as mcu antagonists go [ because do they really have villains ] i enjoy him the most. but his line where he challenges t’challa for not doing more for the oppressed black people by saying “didn’t life start here on this continent, aren’t all people your people” seems like... really elementary logic? now i do think that it was wrong for wakanda to hide in the shadows and not do something to help, but i think that if the mcu existed in a space where wakanda did do something to stop the slave trade the mcu would have to be a fundamentally different world and characters like n’jadaka as he exists now wouldn’t be allowed to exist.
i guess that’s part of the point of his character, that but for wakanda keeping to himself n’jadaka wouldn’t exist and that’s sort of the whole reason for him. but like. i dunno
i don’t have the words to properly explain my thought process here. but while i appreciate n’jadaka as a character i don’t really think i’m here for a world where the oppressed become the oppressor as a form of victory? like. i’m good there.
i’m also not here for w’kabi totally backing n’jadaka simply because n’jadaka killed klaue? like he was totally willing to back an overthrown of wakandan society just because n’jadaka killed the guy that killed his parents? like he didn’t ask any kinds of questions...
also n’jadaka’s speech about how he’s killed all of this places just so he could kill t’challa makes me laugh. because i get that killing t’chaka is out of the question, but again this just seems like a lot of misplaced anger? like... and it’s not anything against him personally, i know that’s a common trope in fiction, the whole “the person i want to kill isn’t available so it’ll be you” or the “it’s not really you it’s the idea of you” but still, i laugh.

That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how you third act.
Extremely, extremely sentimental. The beginning and the end are especially great.
It walks a tightrope between traditional Hollywood musical revamped and set in modern times, and also serious character drama which exist in our world and abides by the laws of our universe; one that is not always magical (not that a lot of classic musicals didn't take themselves seriously when they weren't singing).
Of course, the clashing of the old feel and the modern setting is what makes this movie work. When you take the charming soundtrack which sounds straight out of a rogers and Hammerstein musical, the stellar choreography and the crazy tracking shot dance numbers, and then throw that in a world where people use ipads and drive Priuses, you get something especially unique.
Even how the dance numbers are shot is true to it's source material. The scene advertised on the poster is treated like a tap dance number on a sound stage.  wide camera angles that don't draw attention to themselves, tracking the actors as they make use of their location.
I like how it takes the Hollywood love story and flips it on it's back at the end, changing things up. It doesn't have the ending we all hoped to see, and that's probably a huge reason this movie is so memorable. It's not a sad ending, the characters still grew and their friendship/relationship didn't end on a bitter note, it just sort of faded away. They may have found someone else, but they still have feelings for each other.
The ending of the movie is basically Casablanca.
There is something refreshing about that, it seems to make the time the characters spent together so much more memorable and significant.
Also can we talk about the way they shot and cut together that final scene? Man. The super 8 footage was such a good touch. It sort of help make the distinction between was is and what could have been. 8mm itself has such a warm, nostalgic look. It looks real, the tangible-ness of film helps make it seem not like a fantasy, but and alternate story line, a parrell life. And then the idea of showing alternate versions of scenes, flashbacks, and more classical Hollywood dance numbers on movie sets, IT'S ALL SO GOOD.
This guy I know russel made an interesting point about the characters and story not relying on technology. You could take this movie out of it's modern setting and throw it in the 1940s, and it would be almost seamless. Nobody says "hey, I'll text you the thing", or talks about modern technology/things at all. It's and old movie trapped in a modern skin, and thats also why it works. Characters walk/run to where the need to go through the rain sometimes instead of getting an Uber lift. They go to see an old movie and the film burns. Gosling holds the car door open for emma stone. etc. And the clashing comes when the new way of doing things tries to take over. That's just another huge things that helps sell the old moive setting, as opposed to just being a quriky film with old-timey song and dance numbers
Emma Stone carries scenes, and her chemistry with ryan gosling is great and belivable. It's a marvel of casting: a perfect duo.
