Reigen Arataka, the greatest self-proclaimed psychic of the 21st Century — although, this con-man may not appear to be what he claims — though the title still rightfully belong to him
-Reigen reached his 2nd century recently (so sometime during the actual anime). His first year was spent doing training and messing around back home. He eventually left once he outlived his mortal friends to the city where life was fast and he was certain he wouldn’t make lasting connections

Well what a year that was.
and rounding it out with the long awaited finale to the Mob Psycho 100 anime certainly was a much appreciated way to see it off.
Please let me ring in the new year by indulging in some some future musings of the Sprits and Such Consultation staff, past and present.
Serizawa got his high school diploma from night school with flying colours (his mother's very proud), but never graduated from working part time at Spirits and Such. Now that he has his compulsory education complete, he studies subjects he enjoys - discovering that he likes learning really, he just didn't like the kids at his middle school.
Mob, on the other hand, was never too academic but his passion for athletics continues to grow (along with his height, stopping just shy of Serizawa). After high school he goes on to be a non-sponsored semi-professional athlete, working all kinds of odd jobs in the off season. When things get a little too lean, he's always welcome back to the office on an adhoc basis.
Ritsu, ever the overachiever, pursues higher education. Studying to pass the bar (to Reigen's concern) at one of the top universities in the country. A university which Shou may or may not have manipulated into accepting him on as a veterinary student. Despite their different disciplines Shou regularly sneaks into Ritsu's lectures using those powers he 'won't use anymore'.
Teru has no qualms utilising his powers. In addition to his responsibilities as a middle school teacher and in demand private tutor, he runs special afterschool sessions for ESPer children. He aims to establish his own ESPer friendly school one day. He has attended every single one of Mob's competitions.
Tome continued to secretary throughout high school, wheedling her way onto more on location exorcisms. Documenting her many supernatural encounters blossomed into a thriving career as a paranormal investigator, debunking fake phenomena alongside Hoshida Origo as her cameraman and co-author. Her first book was sold exclusively through the 'Spirit's and Such' website.
Dimple becomes the only true full time employee at the office becoming the 'Spirit' to Reigen's 'and Such'. After his and Reigen's mutual possession Reigen developed an ability to call out to Dimple as a means of summoning him. Meaning even when Dimple is enjoying his time visiting Mob, he can get the obnoxious equivalent of a spectral phone call when Reigen encounters a real spook.
Dimple delights in ignoring such calls until the very last minute.
Reigen finds out, after a truly mortifying display at the now annual 'Spirits and Such New Year's Hike and Afterparty', that he is missing the enzyme needed to break down alcohol.

General Mob dating hcs
Pairing(s): Shigeo Kageyama x Gn!Reader
He’s so cute
And really really awkward, almost painfully so
I mean when he first confesses to you it was done two ways
The first was after being continuously hyped by dimple, reigen, and his brother so he decides to buy a bouquet of flowers and go from there
That or it was all spontaneous and you had accidently confessed to him, it was all overwhelming for him and he almost went to ???
But you quickly comforted him and reassured him of how u really felt (although a downside was having to say the truth of your embarrassing feelings)
You were most likely friends with mob or were similar to teruhashi
I’ll go with the first route to start
Since the two of you were friends, he probably had never thought of liking you in that way
Until he did
In this scenario you’d have to be an esper along with mob since you’d have to be close enough to work alongside him with reigen
Anyway, because you’re both esters (especially if you’re a powerful one) then he’d feel really connected to you
I mean, you’re one of the few people who could possibly understand how he feels
If you’re one of the popular kids and are constantly getting love letters then he’d look at you from afar
He really admires and likes you so once you guys get together in this scenario he’s more than pumped and obviously ends up telling anyone he can
More into the relationship hcs-
He’s really cute, which is more than obvious
He’s pretty awkward and if you’d wanna ask him anything you’ll have to give him a few seconds before he manages to say anything
He’s pretty slow on hand holding too
If you were to ever hold his hand he’d have to let go instantly before his powers make it a negative memory
He’ll even go to reigen and his brother for help with gifts and advice too
(Yknow, after reigens character development)
A specific scenario would be like for Valentine’s Day or just to gift you something
He decides to go to reigen then his brother, and even tome
He’d ultimately decide to get you a little basket full with your fav snacks and even a little bouquet
When it comes to finally giving it you he gets so flustered 😭
He gives them to you despite his nervousness and when you decide to hug or give him a kiss on the cheek-
He nearly explodes on the spot
Mob exe has stopped working
Please just give him some space afterwards 😭
(He severely needs it)
If you ever gift him anything back like this, or even milk from the vending machine at school-
He’ll definitely fluster and even thank you formally 😭
You’ll have to tell him to stop because people are staring but also because the two of you are literally dating
When you first hug him he’s so stiff
He’s just stiff in your arms and when he returns it, he just snuggles into your neck to try and hide his face from passerby’s
When you start being more open about your relationship and start openly holding hands the body improvement club/ telepathy club really congratulate him
+ tome just getting mad at mob for not letting her know of your relationship sooner
And just the rest are shenanigans of her trying to convince you to join the club
If you guys were to ever have a sleepover it’s most definitely at your house
Ain’t no way it’s gonna be at his
Anyway, you’ll probably watch a movie and when you feel mob lean on you you decide to just lay him down and go to bed which ends in the two of you cuddling
Of course dimple had to be there for “supervision “ he says
But anyway when you decide to hold mob in your arms you feel him moving and starts mumbling incoherently
Then he gets up abruptly and totally freaks out when he realizes how close you two were
He gets teased endlessly by dimple 😭
Now, speaking of ritsu
He’s really supportive of mobs relationship with you, he was just a lil worried about the confession if he’s gonna be real
He was more worried that you wouldn’t like mob back and even worse, how he’d react
So when the two of you start going out he’s really happy for his older brother
And surprisingly, he thinks good of you before you even meet
(Surprisingly because of how emo he is)
If you ever get in a situation where you can’t defend yourself then he’ll definitely be there
He’d go “???” And go absolute ham on whoever hurt you
He gets seriously upset that he became that way infront of you and needs serious reassurance from you
Eventually you’re introduced to ritsu and it’s goes as best as it could
It’s pretty awkward but atleast ritsu thinks ur good enough lmao
Of course he eventually becomes more open
Especially with his emotions
But things between you, things stay pretty much the same

Another thing I've heard some people mention is the differences between Mob and Ritsu's bedrooms.
Ritsu has a bed, vast bookshelves and things on his walls, while Mob has a futon, a singular bookshelf and nothing on his walls. And this isn't a design flaw, it's a silent character story.
As Mob grew up with psychic powers that he struggled to control, it was likely that both he and his parents thought it would be safer for him to have the bare minimum of things in his room so that nothing gets broken and/or wouldn't put Mob or those around him in danger. Ritsu didn't have powers growing up, which meant he could decorate his room.
This is only a small theory/headcanon that I've seen floating around, but I think it's pretty interesting and says a lot about Mob and Ritsu's childhoods.

I feel like not enough people talk about how desensitized Mob is to horror. As in, there's literally an omake where he watches all through a horror movie with a straight face, only flinching because of the sounds, and also, his percentage never ticks up just because of a spirit, even if it's an objectively terrifying one. I mean, it's obviously because he grew up alongside spirits and so they are a perfectly normal part of his life, but like.. that's so fun i think?? And it has a lot of comedic potential methinks.
Like, imagine his school friends inviting him along to a horror movie night, expecting the seemingly timid and naive boy to get scared shitless, but instead they're the ones who end up clinging to each other, hiding behind their hands and crying, all the while mob is nonchalantly watching, and lowkey falling asleep even - and they're all just "???? How??? Are you so fucking calm??!?" And Mob just shrugs and points to a being missing a jaw in the corner of the screen and says "i like that one. It looks cute". They all stare at him like he's insane;
Or him helping Ritsu when he realizes the younger has been struggling with getting used to spirits now that he's an esper - seeing shadows in the corners of his vision, knowing there's things watching him as he goes about his day, decapitated bodies and strange creatures roaming the streets - and tries to help him see that they're not always harmful, and teach how to get them to go away if need be, and reassures him that they can't get in their house due to Mob's aura, so he's still safe there - which is to say, at least, now Ritsu knows for sure that there are no spirits in his room, still traumatized from a comment or two Mob made when they were kids and never bothered to elaborate on, lmao. Mob apologizes for not clarifying that they were long gone, it just never occured to him that that would probably be scary to any other normal kid;
Or imagine him entering the s&s office one day, and Reigen greets him as usual, until he looks up from his computer and there is a fucking eldritch abomination of some sort of misshapen child hanging off of Mob's shoulders, and, as one might expect, he Freaks, and Mob is just like "Shishou, stop screaming. This is Lily. I promised to help her with her homework so she can pass on on her own". Etc...
Like, it's just really funny to me. Let Mob be a bit strange and off putting, he deserves it <3
