IOTA Reviews: Jubilation

So far, Season 5 has been pretty decent for the most part. Sure, there have already been a handful of plotholes and retcons (to the point where I'm honestly thinking of starting a retcon counter in the future), but at the very worse, the first three episodes were below average at worst. But now we have to see how the Akuma of the day formula will play out now. Can it bring new life to this show, or is that nothing more than a pipe dream?

Let's get into the fourth (chronologically the fourth) episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fifth season: Jubilation

The episode starts off with Marinette going for a jog, and shockingly, it isn't in her pajamas, but rather, clothing appropriate for running. She stops to see an advertisement for the Alliance rings, and reminds the audience that she's totally not in love with Adrien anymore because it cost her most of the Miraculous. Marinette is about to continue running, when she sees her principal, Mr. Damocles, dressing up at the superhero, the Owl, while attempting to save a cat from a billboard... even though he learned his lesson all the way back in his spotlight episode, “The Dark Owl”. Before Marinette has the chance to save him from his incompetence, another girl dressed as Ladybug saves Mr. Damocles, though Marinette recognizes her as an old friend. Both “heroes” run off, but Marinette has an idea of who the fake Ladybug is.

Marinette: That fake Ladybug from this morning, I think it was Socqueline, a school friend from last year. Knowing her, I’m sure she means well. But I have to convince her to stop putting herself in danger like that.

So basically, we're repeating the civilian plotline of “The Dark Owl”, but this time, with two different heroes. I'm also confused as to why we've never heard of Socqueline until Season 5, especially if Marinette already knows her. It's not as egregious or forced as Zoe's introduction, but it's weird that Marinette has never brought her up, not even to Tikki or Alya.

Also, why the hell does she look like Marinette? It was at least understandable to reuse Adrien's character model for Felix because they were related, but these two are just friends, and Socqueline doesn’t even have the same name most fans use for the PV Ladybug, Bridgette. What, did you think changing her name would make the reference more subtle? Oh yeah, and even though we already have two Asian characters with the same surname, Socqueline’s last name is also Wang. Because just like the mayor and ice cream man sharing the same first name, this isn’t confusing in the slightest.

Socqueline works at a local arts and crafts store, and before Marinette can ask her for why she's pretending to be Ladybug, she pretends to be buying paint first... even though she could just transform into Ladybug, walk in and say “Hey, I heard you've been impersonating me, so stop it before you get yourself killed, idiot”. But then I guess we wouldn't get an explanation as to what Alliance can do. Like we saw in “Multiplication”, it's basically an Alexa in ring form that totally isn't a front for supervillain activity. Marinette and Socqueline talk about Adrien, and Socqueline assumes the two are a couple after Marinette talks about how close they are, when all Marinette does is recap the whole thing about his mother “disappearing” and that he doesn't want to be a model. Wow, you really know him, don't you?

Eventually, the conversation goes back to Socqueline dressing up as Ladybug.

Marinette: Well, it’s a good thing you’re not trying to be a superhero, because it’s very dangerous to do the same thing they do when you don’t have magical powers and supersuits!

Socqueline: Yeah… Well, what if it’s a relief for Ladybug to have people help her?

Marinette: No way would she want that. It’s too risky!

Socqueline: Yes, but you gotta know when to step in. That’s the only way you can change things in life!

Marinette: I know. You told me that last year, but in this circumstance, it’s Ladybug’s job to take risks, and no one else’s! Because if everyone takes risks, then Ladybug may have to take more risks in order to deal with their risks, which is even riskier!

Mr. Damocles: Sounds like someone’s jealous because she wants to be a superhero.

Marinette: I do not! I’m Marinette! I’m very happy to be a normal girl, with a normal life, AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE!

Admittedly, this is a decent argument for Marinette and Socqueline to have, but I feel like they're kind of oversimplifying it. Yes, it's obvious that Socqueline and Mr. Damocles can't do much to help Ladybug without any powers, but that doesn't rule out Ladybug getting other allies in the form of local law enforcement or even other heroes with high-tech gadgets like Batman. It's also strange that the whole deal with Marinette last season was that she wasn't willing to trust anyone like Cat Noir, so wouldn't it make sense to call back to that, and consider getting help from people in other ways, like moral support?

While Socqueline tries to console Mr. Damocles, some of the dinosaurs from “Rocketear” break out, so Marinette quickly transforms into Ladybug to catch them again, but while she does so, she accidentally brings Socqueline's Alliance ring with her. Turns out that, shock of all shocks, Gabriel is secretly monitoring the Alliance rings, and the data gathered from the step counter app registers the user as moving around far beyond human capabilities. Gabriel obviously assumes that Socqueline is Ladybug, and transforms into Monarch, where we see how the new Akuma routine will go for the season. Sensing Mr. Damocles' negative emotions from believing he can't be a superhero, Monarch uses Kaalki's Voyage to send his Akuma towards one of his masks. When it reaches Mr. Damocles, Monarch uses his Alliance ring to grant him Daizzi's Gift, turning him into Darker Owl.

Darker Owl is basically just the same as Dark Owl, but with some shinier parts, and instead of the campier Batman he was originally themed after, he has a sightly deeper voice, not unlike Christian Bale's interpretation of the character. Nothing special, but compared to reusing past Akuma designs, at least an effort was made to make him look different.

Darker Owl breaks into the paint shop, believing Monarch's claim that Socqueline is Ladybug. Using one of his gadgets with the Pig Miraculous' gift, he traps Socqueline in her fantasy to be recognized as a hero by the real Ladybug and Cat Noir. Before she was trapped however, she secretly used her Alliance ring to trick Darker Owl into revealing where the Akuma is.

Of course, like a concerning amount of episodes before it, we finally get Adrien's first scene, where he's just playing video games until he learns about the Akuma, transforming into Cat Noir. Both heroes arrive to stop Darker Owl, who has taken Socqueline as a hostage, and while Cat Noir saves Socqueline, Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm, an old fashioned alarm clock.

After Cat Noir saves Socqueline, both him and Ladybug are hit by Gift, where their shared fantasy is beating Darker Owl and finding Monarch's business card in Mr. Damocles' jacket. After the two defeat Monarch and get the Miraculous back, they grow closer together, and eventually... get married... even though they're still teenagers.

Okay, that's very concerning, especially since Cat Noir's “suit” is just the Cat Blanc model with green eyes, but it's not like they're going to become parents too, right?

Yep. The writers REALLY didn't think this through. I get that it didn't really happen, but I don't get why they had to make the fantasy of Ladybug and Cat Noir being all about them starting a family when they can't even afford new models to show that they're older so they could avoid these implications.

Putting that aside, the fantasy is decently put together, but it's nothing special compared to something like “Perchance to Dream” from Batman: The Animated Series. I like the recurring surreal imagery with the alarm clocks, and the babies looking like dolls could be seen as a way to show how fake this all is. On the other hand, I don't get whose fantasy this is exactly. Yeah, it's implied that since the same Gift bullet was fired at both Ladybug and Cat Noir, they're sharing an amalgamation of their fantasies (Ladybug defeating Monarch and getting the Miraculous back and Cat Noir starting a family with Ladybug), but it feels like more focus is given to Cat Noir's fantasy even though he didn't even get to do anything before the Akuma showed up. They even have the scene with him hesitating to leave the fantasy when it should have been Ladybug struggling to reject it. In fact, I think the reason this fantasy sequence rings hollow for me is because it doesn't really connect to the idea that Marinette wants a normal life. Wouldn't it make more sense for Marinette's fantasy to be a world where Socqueline or Alya is Ladybug instead of her? You could easily alternate between Marinette's fantasy where she lives a mundane life and alternate it with Cat Noir's fantasy where he embraces the superhero lifestyle. It would have made more sense given that this was a Marinette-centric episode,

Even after the two heroes break out, it's Cat Noir who snaps at Darker Owl, not Ladybug. You could have easily had a scene where Cat Noir is the one who has to restrain Ladybug from getting too aggressive while fighting Darker Owl to show how reliable of a partner he is. Instead, well... remember how last episode, Cat Noir felt a lot of guilt for accidentally Cataclysming Monarch when Monarch let himself take the hit? Yeah, he almost Cataclysms Darker Owl out of anger. Yeah, he’s not thinking straight, and he stops at the last minute, but it makes him look like a real hypocrite. It also doesn’t really reassure the audience that he's now the only ally Ladybug has at the moment. This moment would have made more sense if the roles were reversed, with Cat Noir begging Ladybug to not hurt Darker Owl because Monarch was the one who taunted them with their ideal lives.

Ladybug purifies the Akuma, gives Mr. Damocles a useless Magical Charm, fixes the minor damage Darker Owl caused, Daizzi is sent back to Monarch's lair, and nobody ever acknowledges that Cat Noir almost killed a man.

After Socqueline apologizes to Ladybug, and Ladybug gives a vague statement of wanting Socqueline to find another way to help, she goes back home as Marinette. Sabine offers her an Alliance ring, but Marinette decides against it, mostly because of what happened earlier.

The episode then ends to Ladybug talking with Cat Noir about what happened with Darker Owl, how he got the power of the Pig Miraculous, and what happened in their fantasy.

Cat Noir: Ladybug, that power of Jubilation... it’s supposed to show us our deepest desires, isn’t it?

Ladybug: Yes.

Cat Noir: But that was... that wasn’t real, right?

Ladybug: Tell me about it. The wedding, babies, totally… fake.

Cat Noir: Are you sure?

Ladybug: Monarch… must’ve altered it somehow, to trick us. Yeah, that’s got to be it.

Cat Noir: Of course, otherwise, it would be totally super weird, wouldn’t it?

Ladybug: Right. Totally… super… weird.

Yeah, calling what you two lived through “weird” is an understatement.

Overall, this episode was just mediocre, and other than the climax, there wasn't much for me to talk about.

Socqueline as a character confuses me. Do we really need another member of Marinette's friend group, especially when you could have easily replaced Socqueline with another character? Seriously, someone like Alya, Mylene, Kagami, Zoe, or even Chloe would have worked better, as their personalities and motivations would fit a story like this. She's just an unnecessary addition to an already bloated cast of characters.

I will say I liked how the villain side of things was handled. In a world where the use of technology in our daily lives is more common, the idea of the Alliance rings being a way for Gabriel to monitor the public is pretty clever. I’m still confused as to why he even needs to use a Miraculous to give Akumas more powers when he can already do that with Akumas in the first place, but I like how the conflict seems to be ramping up.

I also don't get the point of this conflict, especially since we already did it three seasons ago. Back in “The Dark Owl”, it was unnecessary because Ladybug and Cat Noir were already doing a good job at fighting Hawkmoth's Akumas, but now, he's stronger than ever, and they need all the help they can get. Yeah, Mr. Damocles and Socqueline were endangering themselves by trying to help others, but at least they're doing something after everyone just gave up preparing for Monarch's new wave of Akumas in “Multiplication”. But then again, at least Ladybug didn't call either of them entitled for actually wanting to help people instead of focusing on their own selfish desires like the “hero” in Kamen Rider Geats.

Even the resolution feels tacked on. In “The Dark Owl”, the ending was similar, with Mr. Damocles choosing to stop trying to be a hero, but instead focusing on doing community service, helping people in his own way. Here? Ladybug tells Socqueline to help someone without endangering herself, and we don't get any follow-up on that, not even with Mr. Damocles. It feels more tacked on than anything else.

It doesn't help that despite the episode hinting at Marinette wanting a normal life, the actual highlight of the episode, the fantasy sequence, doesn't really connect to those wishes, as Marinette stays transformed the whole time. From an out of universe perspective, it's obviously because Cat Noir and Monarch can't find out who Ladybug is, but it's not clear why her fantasy is like that. You could have easily thrown in something like that rule they established last episode of Miraculous magic not being able to interfere with other Miraculous, so Monarch and Darker Owl have to make up their own ideal fantasy for Ladybug and Cat Noir to live in because they can't completely read their minds. Well that, and also, DON'T SHOW TWO TEENAGERS BECOMING PARENTS WITHOUT EVEN AGING, BECAUSE IT GIVES OFF THE VIBE THAT THEY HAD SEX.

This episode wasn't really terrible, more boring than anything else. At least I had something to talk about with the past three episodes, but here? Outside of the fantasy, there's not much else to say.

THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS... MR. DAMOCLES

Even though he already learned his lesson three seasons ago, he still didn't get that a man of his age and physique wasn't fit to be a superhero. At least Socqueline was established to be in good shape for her age. On top of that, he easily gave away his cover (even if it was obvious, the joke before was that everyone else pretended to not know who he is) at the drop of a hat, and when he was supposedly confronted with Ladybug's civilian identity, he didn't think to just rip her earrings off, and spent way too much time talking before he zapped her with a Gift bullet.

Winx Club actor AU & Headcanons - Part One

Just a bunch of thoughts I have on an actor AU for the Winx Club. I went crazy for this. ENJOY! Time makes no sense here because AU.

Iginio Straffi and his team of producers; Mary, James, Jennifer and Steffani did their best to build the story of Winx Club. But they couldn’t quite get it off the ground until late 2002.

The producers looked at over 1000 girls to find the five main fairies. They were keen on getting their main five when they were building the show in 2003 so they could announce them as quick as possible.

Tecna got cast first which was a surprise. They needed a girl who could be rational to a fault but could also have emotions sitting in the background aching to forth. When Tecna came through the doors, Iginio knew they had their fairy of technology.

Flora was next. They had all types of girls auditioning but none could get this character duality of shy but with an inner power she hadn’t totally grasped yet. Then Flora came in and they loved her. She auditioned for Bloom, herself and Stella originally. They had her come back a couple of times until they were 1000% sure.

Stella was more of a theatre and movie star so she wasn’t sure she wanted to commit to a TV show and really wasn’t sure of Winx. She had just finished a year doing a bluesy musical version of Much Ado About Nothing and needed a new project. So her manager found her something different to try out and she did. She nabbed the role of the sun and moon fairy because everyone just loved her vibrant sunny energy.

The main character was difficult to cast because no one actress really fit the bill. Or the producers were just wushu washy, changing their minds every five minute. Until they saw a certain redhead behind the open door. This redhead was Bloom and she had auditioned for Stella. They had her come in for the MC and they admired the righteous and impulsive fire this girl brought to the role while remaining likeable. Bloom originally was bummed to not nabbing Stella but this character grew on her.

The fifth fairy was difficult to cast because her character wasn’t even completely ironed out yet. The producers knew they wanted artsy but tortured for the character and they were gonna name her Lisa. So they had a jumble of mismatched girls coming in for the role. Eventually this green haired girl from China comes in with her soulful eyes and a voice that can be sassy and heartbreaking at once. They really liked her so they kept bringing her back, while redesigning this character to fit this actress, Musa. She had just gotten off of School of Rock when she began with Winx.

After one chemistry test between the girls where they tested out the scene in 1x02 when the club is being named, (in what the girls remember as a pretty blue room) Iginio and the producers stood up and yelled “the Winx Club has been formed.”

When talks began about bringing in a sixth darker skinned fairy to the team, Beatrix (who plays Stormy) or Darcy came to Steffani the producer (this story varies on who told it) and told her about this really cool actress named Aisha who they should consider. She’s more of a model and an athlete but she has done a few notable screen roles before. Yes, Aisha is a friend but she’s talented. A while later, Aisha was contacted to do a trial run, then a screen test with the girls to test for chemistry. It was palpable and everyone knew they had heir sixth fairy.

Darcy, Stormy, Jared from season 2, Musa and Aisha like to hang out a lot.

There was a major cast party when the newcomers for season 2 was cast. The Winx, Specialists, Trix, School staff, pixies and even Calvin Shuemacker (who plays Knut the Ogre) came.

Palladium, Griffin and Faragonda couldn’t make it unfortunately. And Darcy was real upset when Ediltrude and Zarathustra from Cloudtower mentioned they couldn’t come either. Apparently they are the life of the party even at their age.

Timmy likes to steal props from set. His favorite is his gun.

Isobel is a natural blonde and she dies her white white and adds extensions to make her hair extra long to play Icy. So does Darcy. Stormy has a wig on since she has regular straight hair and it’s quick than spending hours frizzing her hair. They have a running joke about how none of them have real hair.

Francine the Water Fairy and Bloom met on casting day and are friends.

Mirta actually brought in her pumpkin t-shirt one day on set. Costume design loved it and had to incorporate it in her character look.

Darker is mostly CGI. His actor has to put on a green screen suit whenever he has a scene.

Brandon is a riot on set and everyone loves him. Everyone character has been shipped with him at least once so he’s started a rumour that he’s dated every character cause he has chemistry with everyone. Musa still gets red about it sometimes.

Riven actually is a pretty soft guy and cries easily in real life so he has a hard time being moody and unlikable in season 1. Bloom and Sky had to hug him after Bloom humiliated him in that episode.

The girls love their Enchantix forms but moving around with their new wings were a bit of a challenge at first.

Darcy auditioned for Flora back in the casting process. Because of this, she and Flora were always trying to convince the writers to do a body swap episode. They think it’d be hilarious to see Flora be mean and sneaky and have Darcy be softer and friendly.

Helia’s hair is mostly a wig which is a surprise to everyone.

Kiko is a trained rabbit that Bloom had really bonded with. She got to keep him after season 1 wrapped up.

Most of the show is filmed in green screens and made up sets. None of the Schools are real.

Sky has somehow landed in the hospital at least once per season. The guy is just really clumsy.

The girls all got really teary and emotional at the movie premiere of SotLK.

They did the countdown thing HP did for their final filming days. There are videos of everyone crying at least once in the BTS of the movie with the Winx giving one final speech before wrapping up.

They all did come back for season 4 and it was hugs all around.

Winx Club - Inconsistencies & Questions I have

I thought I’d list down some inconsistencies I’ve found in Winx Club, mainly because they are so busy making the show marketable. I may be an original fan but don’t think I didn’t notice these things. Feel free to add other inconsistencies you have noticed @cyithrel Seriously, if I rewrote Winx Club, I could add so many new headcanons.

Why was Stella on earth in the first episode? We never found that out.

For being such an emotional person, how come Bloom only discovers her powers at 16?

Is Flora a princess or not? In Magical Adventure she says she is. She was invited to Domino’s Restoration ceremony where I imagined people thought she was a princess but her parents are botanists.

Musa is not a princess but I’ve heard she was.

Tecna isn’t either but I swear she was one in the comics.

Why does Aisha’s name change per country. I grew up with the show in French so I met her as Layla but in English, she makes sense as Aisha.

Daphne. She doesn’t make sense either. In Nick, she wasn’t Bloom’s sister yet she is in the general canon. It makes sense if she was her guardian fairy or even fairy godmother. Why is she blonde if neither of her parents are?

Roxy may be a Winx but she also isn’t. She’s only a clear member in season 4.

Do people hate witches universally? And yet why is Cloud Tower a popular witch school if witches are hated? Or is there more to the lore that we just never got an explanation for. Maybe the witch hatred changes from planet to planet. Eraklyon for example, hates them.

Are fairies and specialists considered better? Because this would explain why partly why the Trix want to take over the magical dimension cause they’re tired of the mistreatment of witches.

The Trix are super inconsistent: originally they were supposed to be the Ancestral Witches made young but that was scrapped. If each Trix is fashioned after each ancestor (ie Lysliss is Icy, Darcy is Belladonna and Stormy is Tharma,) then it doesn’t make sense for the Trix to be sisters because that would mean each Trix is descended from three different lines. Are the ancestors even related?

The writing just adds new lore that just throws off or away established parts of the canon. Like Erendor being responsible for Domino’s destruction. That should have been revealed in season two and made Eraklyon be Bloom’s ally for its restoration.

Some of the transformations don’t make sense. Obviously they were added for marketing. Sirenix is an example of a lost transformations since Daphne and Politea were the last ones before the Winx. What tf about Bloomix or Mythix.

Mythix could be a transformation the Winx discovered. Or at least unlocked since the Great Dragon roamed the universe and fairies came to the universe. Eldora or Nebula didn’t seem to be aware there was a transformation attached to it.

Bloomix could be a new transformation… (Fucking named it after Bloom.) But then how would Faragonda know what it’s called. Maybe it’s a super rare transformation. Dragon Fire wielders might even rarely earn it.

I understand and even admire the concept of Enchantix being earned through a sacrifice for someone of your own planet. By why from someone from your planet specifically? Who was it that wrote Bloom could have sacrificed herself for someone on Earth since it’s practically her planet too. And how can I explain Tecna sacrificing herself for Andros. Either she’s part Andros (which could make her part mermaid 😁) or the rule isn’t as clear cut as Faragonda made it.

What’s Brandon’s deal? How did he get to be Sky’s squire. And why is he a squire? I swear he looks like he is better than Sky.

Where the fuck are all the boys from? I refuse to have them all be from Eraklyon. Timmy could be from Zenith too. Which leads me to wonder why are they just eye candy? Maybe it was just of the time.

Oh and about the girls’ ages. If we follow general convention that each season takes place a year apart from each other (making the girls 23 by season 8,) or we just count the years and take into account the years of hiatus which would make the girls around 30 by 2022.

Why are the Major fairies part of the lineup in season 4 if we only meet them after like episode 20? Diana, Morgana and Aurora could have been cool additions to the club. But what about Nebula. Seriously why are they there?

Does anyone remember a season 4 opening without the major fairies or just me? Because I swear it’s a thing.

Switching transformations should have been a thing since season 5 instead of insisting of staying with one or two transformations per season. For example; Enchantix is the baseline and can allow for some of the basics of other transformations (like allowing for magic underwater and breathing in space.)

What the fuck is with Nabu? He should have been back by now. I refuse to think he’s really dead when Morgana and Nebula promised said they’d watch him until he woke up again.

Why can Daphne control the elements? Is that a power an ex keeper of the dragon flame gets? I still feel like Bloom has other powers she hasn’t unlocked yet.

Flora… About her magic, she seems like her only power involves plants. If she’s the fairy of nature, she must have other powers or she needs to change her title, something more than fairy of flowers and maybe more specific than fairy of nature.

Stella. She’s barely got moon powers. Is her sun half more overpowering? And how does it work. I am starting to see why Nickelodeon decided to just let her go by Fairy of the shining sun.

Aisha: how did she decide on her diary title? How did she learn about Morphix. Can it affect water or Morphix its own thing. And can it be given away like the Dragon Fire?

Why are the Winx fighting Darkar before Valtor? It seems to me Darkar is more powerful and dangerous. It always comes back down to the Dragon Fire.

2.) Zodiac: Taurus

3.) Last movie I saw: It’s been a while, hmm. It honestly might’ve been Wreck It Ralph 2!

4.) Favorite musician: I’ve been really into Halsey lately. Colors is my jam, especially the stripped version <3

5.) Favorite author: Libba Bray and Diana Wynne Jones (same as @twindoodle lol). I want to read more of Libba’s stuff, but I’m super in love with Beauty Queens

6.) Favorite Fanfiction: I can’t choose just one >< I have a saved list on fanfiction.net of a few favorites but it depends on what kind of mood I’m in.

7.) Favorite movie: Tangled. I’m a huge Disney fan and when it was released on DVD I watched it three times in one day XD

8.) Favorite anime: Lucky Star was a big one that I’ve rewatched a few times. I’m partial to classics, like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is high on the list, but I think I like it in manga form better. I really liked Zombieland Saga and I hope it gets another season!

9.) Play any instruments?: I can’t read the music anymore, but I used to play Cello and Bass!

10.) Random fact: I’ve lived with host families in both China and Japan

12.) Do you get asks?: Quite a few, lol, mostly about my AUs. I also hold onto some that have Art potential for a artist block kind of day.

13:) Favorite fandom(s): Currently neck deep in Miraculous Ladybug. I used to contribute to Kingdom Hearts and (shudder) My Little Pony. But now I’m a servant to ML

14.) Favorite song: Saltwater Room by Owl City

15.) What are you wearing? Loose NASA shirt, waist high shorts, plaid varsity style Mickey Mouse cardigan, black thigh highs, black ankle boots

16.) Hair color: Redish Brown that keeps getting darker because I don’t do sun apparently.

17.) Eye color: Blue-Grey

18.) Favorite food: Crème brûlée

19.) Hobbies: Drawing (ha), cosplaying, scrapbooking. I’m also trying to get into doll faceups, but making doll clothes is so much harder than making my clothes DX

New Fanfic.

It’s called Dream or Nightmare? The first chapter is up. It's about me being trapped as my OC Zelda in ML. As Zelda I'm going through most OC tropes I've read in fanfics. There will be swearing and many tropes that are everywhere. This is like a parody of self-insert fanfics. No offense to those, I've read some good ones. This is made for laughs. She will not be a Mary Sue. She will go through some tropes that she won't like. I won't tell you what they are that'll ruin the fun. Ao3 Link.

“Zelda get up or you'll be late,” a strange voice calls out. “Zelda, who's that?” Getting out of under the covers 'Zelda' I should say Sydney isn't in her room.“What the!?” She shouts and she looks around the room. “I don't like this.” “Zelda are you up yet?” The confused girl spins around. “Who is calling? Who is Zelda?” Looking towards the close door she notices a mirror hanging off of it. The person staring back at her wasn't her. Instead of medium curly green dyed hair and hazel eyes with pale skin, the person in the mirror has long black hair the goes down to her knees and dark brown eyes with a skin tone that is a bit darker. “I really don't like this.” There are pictures around the room. Looking closely at them she sees a family. Two mothers and their daughter. “Son of a bitch! I'm Zelda. My Miraculous Ladybug OC. How did this happen?”

Now freaking out, who wouldn't, Zelda walks around in a circle. Soon Zelda's bedroom swings open. A tall woman in heels and a light blue business dress suit is standing in the doorway. Her short blond hair is up in curlers. She hasn't taken them out yet. “Zelda, didn't you hear me? Come on and get ready if you want any breakfast before your first day at your new school,” she said with her arms crossed. “I'll be right now,” Zelda said shakily. “I know you're nervous about going to a school with boys but don't worry everything will be fine.” She hugged her daughter. She left the room and Zelda gets changed. “I am so glad I made it that she doesn't wear heels,” Zelda sighs while looking for her shoes.

Now changed she tries to find the kitchen. It wasn't hard since the place wasn't big. Not to mention the stairs that lead to Zelda's room, her room is in the attic, was in the hallway. She doubts that the two closed doors lead to the kitchen. Plus she smells the food. After eating Zelda's mothers hand her a small box. “On your first day at College Francoise Dupont we got you a good luck gift,” said the same person that entered Zelda's room earlier. Zelda opens the box inside was a butterfly hair clip. The other mother with the dark brown hair wearing white pants and a light blue top puts the clip in Zelda's hair.

“Thanks, mom and ma.” Zelda smiles. Her Ma, Sam short for Samantha drops Zelda off at her new school. Standing in front of the step is a girl trapped in one of her favorite show as an OC she made for fun. With no idea how it happened or if she can get out of it. She slumps up the stairs and bumps into the headmaster Mr. Damocles. The tall owl looking man pears down at Zelda. “You must be the new student. Zelda Kazarick am I right?” “Yes sir,” she yelps. “You'll be in Miss Bustier's class. I'll show you where it is. Follow me,” he turns around and heads inside. Zelda quickly follows. Even though she knows all about this school and everyone in the class she plays cool and acts new.

Good thing no one is in the classroom. When Mr. Damocles is gone Zelda takes the seat she knows is empty. The one next to Ivan. She slides to the seat and falls on her knees banning her head on the seat. She keeps banging her head against the seat. 'What kind of tropes will I be going through? I better not become a Mary Sue. Am I going to get akumatized or a Miraculous? Maybe both. I don't want any.' She keeps thinking to herself. One of her new classmates enters the room. A once shy boy trying to reach out to others. Ever since he was akumatized he has been trying to be braver.

He tried talking to the other new girl, Lila. She doesn't seem to care much for him. Maybe he'll have better luck with this other new girl. Maybe she needs help or something. There has to be a reason she's on the floor hitting her head on the place you're supposed to be sitting on. He puts his bag on his desk and walks over to the new girl. She stops hitting her head, that's good. “Is everything alright?” he asked. “I want to go home.” the new girl whined. 'She must be nervous about going to a new school.' The boy thinks to himself. He kneels down. “I miss my friends,” the new girl continues.

“It must be hard going to a new school and not know anyone.” Zelda didn't even know someone was there until now. She stops talking to herself and listens. “I bet you feel alone maybe even scared. Everything will be fine. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll make new friends soon.” Once he was done talking Zelda moves her head to the side and look at who was talking. Thinking it's a good time to introduce himself he does. “Hi, my name is Nathaniel.” He held out his hand towards her. Taking his hand she introduces herself. “Hello, my name is Zelda.” 'Of course, the first one I see is one of my favorite characters of the show.' She fights off the urge to roll her eyes as she thinks that. “Nice to met you, Nathaniel.” She smiles. He smiles back, “Nice to meet you too, Zelda. Hope you like it here.”

She stands up when more people come in the room. At that moment Nathaniel goes to his seat. When the guy that will be sitting next to her sat down Zelda half smile. “Hello, my name is Zelda.” He only looks at her. “Ivan.” Soon the teacher comes in. “Hello, class today we have a new student. Her name is Zelda Kazarick.” 'Fucking teacher! Why do they always have to do this?' Zelda screams internally. “Tell us about yourself,” the teacher says. Still internally screaming Zelda stand up. “Hello everyone. I use to go to an all girl school.” Then she sat back down. “Well then. Welcome to College Francoise Dupont. I'm Miss. Bustier.”

During class Miss. Bustier turns to face the class. “Now everyone. I have a project for you all to do. It will be in pairs. I'll pick the pairs. What you going to do is read this little story. The story will be different for each one. Then you with your partner will answer these questions and make a presentation base on these questions. Both have to present. Is that clear?” Everyone nods their head. The teacher makes her way to the front desk. “Sabrina and Max are in a group. They will be working on Cinderella.” As the teacher makes her way through the class. Zelda is mind talking again. 'Of course, this has to happen. I bet anything I'm getting either Kim or Nathaniel. Those two are my favorite characters in the show.'

“The new girl Zelda will be with Nathaniel.” 'Called it!' “You two will be working on The Little Mermaid.” She places a piece of paper in front of Zelda. Once everyone got their partner and questions the teacher moves back to the front of the class. “You have two weeks on this project. After lunch, you can go to the library and get started.” 'I bet anything someone will ask me to join them for lunch.' The lesson goes on until the bell rings. Telling everyone it's time for lunch. Before I could even stand up Kim was over by my desk. “Hi, Zelda. I'm Kim. Would you like to have lunch with me and Max?” Kim points at Max and he just waves. Zelda waves back. 'To be honest I thought it was going to be Nath... I'm not going to call him that. I think he was called that only once.' “Sure I'll be glad to join the both of you for lunch.”
