It's important to remind myself that creating art isn't always fast nor is it easy. I started this painting back in 2020 during the first few months of COVID lockdown and I am still working on it. During that time I lost this lovely little girl to old age and it hit so hard that I lost interest in painting her and fell into an artist block. Then I had to plan for a wedding and found myself surrounded by grief after losing my own pets to illness and all that stretched my creative river to its breaking point. I again, found myself opening this painting up just to close out of it in one move multiple times.

1 year later, I am diving in again. My creative flow is trickling back in and this girl is on my list to finish.

Her name was Maggie, but she answered to "Girlfriend" when I called.

A MASSIVE thank you to @pokejay_mon for creating these cuties for me! I've always wanted a Pokemon based on schnauzers and they did an amazing job! The names come from schnauzer, the breed, and the German words for "dirt" (schmutz), "protect" (schützen), "protector" (schutz), and "guardian" (wächerin)

Schnutz, the puppy Pokemon

Type: Ground

Height: 1' 6"

These Pokemon were originally bred to hunt small rodent Pokemon to keep farmers' fields safe from being devoured. When humans noticed how protective they were, Schnutz were then moved to households as guard Pokemon. They are incredibly family-friendly and will protect their trainers no matter what. Their sense of smell is so strong, they can smell Bunnlby a half mile under the dirt.

Wachuer, the guard dog Pokemon

Type: Ground/ Fighting

Height: 3' 7"

Evolves when leveled up holding a black belt

These Pokemon are usually seen with police due to their strong sense of justice and protective nature. Wachuer are amazing guard dogs for families, but can be difficult to handle without proper training. Their sense of smell only heightens after evolving, but their hearing is just as good.

Birthday Special!! Part 2!!

Meet Buster Keaton! One of my current dogs, he’s a mini schnauzer-pomeranian mix who absolutely loves people and has the excitement level of a toddler on a sugar high if he sees another dog. An absolute nerd my Momther and I rescued from the shelter after he ran inside a mail truck. Technically an official Emotional Support Dog, but I won’t take him places because he has Bad Manners. Commits acts of Barkour like running sideways on the back of the couch, weaving through chair legs, and face-planting into said couch. Also answers to King Goblin, Stinky Gremlin, Trouble, Trip Hazard, Sir (derogatory), Doofus, You, and Boingus.
