At his presentation in Torino in September 1948 the 166 MM, the letters stand for #MilleMiglia, the spectators were very impressed about the beautiful design and the rounded shape with its fine lines. - Nobody could imagine how well this race car was able to perform in the heat of competition in 1949. The success came very fast. At the first main event in April 1949, the iconic Mille Miglia, two 166 MM finished first and second overall. Then Luigi Chinetti won the most important race of the season, the 24 hours of Le Mans. It was the first victory for the Scuderia Ferrari, many more should come thereafter. Only a few weeks later, at the 24 Hours of #SpaFrancorchamps Luigi Chinetti took another win. These three world class performances established the excellence and reputation of Ferrari. La vettura esposta è arrivata 11^ assoluta e prima di classe alla 24 Ore di Le Mans nel 1955 guidata da Cabianca-sgorbati. 14^ Assoluta e 2^ di classe alla Mille Miglia con Luc Descollages e Rober Nicol, ed è appartenuta anche a Carrol Shelby con la quale arrivò secondo assoluto alla corsa di Forth Worth nel 1956.

This model, born in 1953 and profoundly evolved in 1955, is considered one of the most iconic and successful products of the Bologna-based brand. It boasts nearly 300 class victories (including two Mille Miglia) and numerous overall wins in Italy, Europe, and America (1000 km of Buenos Aires, 12 Hours of Sebring, Guadalajara, Austin, Watkins Glen, Road America), as well as several overall rally victories (Lyon-Charbonnieres, Rally of Beaujolais, Burgundy). In its aerodynamic version, it also achieved 18 world speed records on the Salt Flats in Utah.

The car on display finished 11th overall and first in its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955, driven by Cabianca-Sgorbati. It placed 14th overall and 2nd in its class at the Mille Miglia with Luc Descollages and Rober Nicol and was also owned by Carroll Shelby, with whom it finished second overall at the Forth Worth race in 1956.

Si è conclusa LA gara più bella è spettacolare che esista al mondo, soprattutto per un regolarista, per un amante viscerale delle auto storiche e quest’anno sono riuscita a godermi la tappa di Roma, con una parte in più, quella che è una mia creatura @himeccanico un sogno onirico fino a qualche tempo fa, una concreta realtà adesso per quale continuerò ad investire tutte le energie in mio possesso e con il sogno di poter essere, un giorno, io stessa a partecipare alla Mille Miglia! Sento qualche è IMPOSSIBILE, ma tante volte mi è stato detto che i miei sogni erano impossibili, critiche e demotivazione (spesso sessiste) piovevano e piovono frequentemente ma alla fine ho capito che se ci credi davvero, per quanto sia difficile e per quanta fatica possa costare, tutto viene ripagato!
