It feels like it was just yesterday, when you saw that pic of the sexy woman posing cutely to the viewer. You thought she was hot! But as crazy as it sounds, you felt like you also wanted to be her. Nowadays, you are a post-op trans girl who went through a lot. But it was worth it; you became a hot girl with a cute streak. Better yet, the reflection in the mirror isn’t just a girl. It was the real you all along.
-The woman in the pic is Jennifer Hawkins, an Australian model known for her win for Miss Universe. Around the time this set of pictures were published online, it became popular to use as a template for fictional TG transformations and captions. It captures how one can admire their own reflection both physically and internally. For many of us in the trans community, seeing your internal reflection is a strong sign that you’re most likely not cis. Consequently, it may also create dysphoria for one’s own. Even though managing gender dysphoria can vary, most treat their condition through hormone therapy. The overall results apart from physical changes also include mental changes, like being happier for being yourself. To see your newly, transformed reflection and no longer feel dysphoric about it means choosing transition was the best choice you could make.
