sometimes i think about how wild a mw2 movie would be if they just dropped soapghost right in the middle with no warning or marketing. like imagine it being beat for beat the exact same, it’s your typical military action movie, promoted as just another military action movie then after they get to the safe house, ghost has to patch up soap and he’s still out of it, overwhelmed by the betrayal and everything he’s seen and ghost needs to ground him and keep him in the present, to remind him that he’s alive and safe so he kisses him and they have sex. the tantrums and the rants and the “ReAl sOLdiErS aRen’t liKe ThAt”, god i can taste it and it’s delicious

i wanted to torture myself so i put on paper hearts.
i know this is *mulder's episode* but i really love scully in it. the way she tells him "you did good work, mulder" and quotes him
when mulder punches roche, i think she's almost angry. because she knows he needs to close this one. because of samantha, because these were little girls stolen from their families. and she knows they'll try to the case away from him. she was so prepared to defend him with skinner and that's my favorite scully.
she's so quiet about how this case affects her. she worries about mulder, helps him dig & uncover another little girl when he painfully utters "help me, scully" she couldn't possibly deny him this time.
when he asks her to confirm it isn't samantha "am i right?" "you're right, mulder, it's not a match. it's not her." her face, the way she tries to comfort him with her touch but it just can't this time and he turns away from her. he's lost in his memories again, angry he didn't find the hearts before, terrified one of the last two is samantha.
when they're confronting roche about the latest remains they found, she's so obviously disgusted by this man (like duh) but her cool facade completely slips, the deep shuddering breath she takes, her voice crumbles, comes out rough drowning in emotion. she's afraid of finding samantha, this is too close to what she believes likely happened to her & she can't bear being right.
"You're going to see the inside of your cell instead. You're going to rot there." i don't think she's actually hated someone so much.
i just love when she's gentle with him and does her best to be strong for him & present & always bearing witness instead of shying away. and the way she says things like this because she wants to be sure he takes care of himself.

1) Three non-romantic duos: Hmmm...brotps I adore would be Jack and Daniel (SG-1), Sam and Daniel (SG-1), and Lune and Matsen (Jade Torch -- is it cheating to use my own book??? xD) If that's cheating, then Sam and Frodo (LotR).
2) A ship that might surprise others: I kinda ship Link x Mipha from BOTW. I like Zelda x Link too, but something about Link x Mipha is just so sweet and tragic. I like that they knew each other for a lot longer than Zelda and Link knew each other.
Let's be real. I don't have a lot of crazy ships. Although, in SG-1, I do ship Vala x Tomin (but I also like Vala x Daniel).
3) Last Song: Shackleton by Adam Young
4) Last Film: My parents and I watched Hitched for the Holidays last night. Very funny romcom with Joey Lawrence. It's a Hallmark movie from 2012, so just before they all got so unbelievably cookie cutter/copy+paste with their plots.

#i am in a massive stargate phase right now#i almost put john and rodney as the third brotp but i wanted to include something non stargate#and seriously. i am enjoying the x-files SO MUCH!!!!!!!!#the alien episodes are my favorite and i wish there were more of those and fewer of the ghost/spirit ones#but oh well#and can i say? mulder and scully's dynamic is perfection#not just how they trust each other or tease each other but how they physically behave with one another#the acting choices seem very deliberate#mulder wears his heart on his sleeve and i am living for that#and he's big on touch. not in a creepy way at all#but he's constantly putting his hand on her shoulder or gently placing his hand on her back to steer her#so much of it is 100% unnecessary for the scene so it feels like very deliberate acting choice regarding the character#and it doesn't phase scully a bit#even in the first few episodes when they've only known each other a few months or less she has no issue with how familiar mulder acts#again. i need to emphasize---it never comes across as creepy just really cute and tender#i really really like how she is SO TINY compared to him and i think his physicality and protectiveness is emphasized by that#but at the same time he knows she's fully capable#he seems protective of her but not in a demeaning way. not overprotective. just lots of chivalry and honor#that's something that seems totally lost in media today: men who want to protect women just because that's what they should be doing#and women who let them#too many women get bent out of shape when men try to be gentlemen#women have tried to wipe out chivalry and then they turn around and complain about toxic masculinity 🙄#but mulder is a wonderful gentleman and i love watching him and scully#tagged#sorry for going off in the tags but i've been wanting to rave about this stuff for a few days now xD

thought id update to say; i survived opening night!!! and not only that, it went REALLY fucking well, and people seemed to REALLY REALLY like it omfg... god this is so crazy
#i was literally holding the script in a bigass binder for almost the entire show (sparing only the parts where i had to BULLFIGHT)#(bc i needed two hands -- one for the cape & one for the banderilla.)(yall i had to learn how to BULLFIGHT TANGO & SWORDFIGHT. in TWO DAYS)#but the audience said afterwards it was like i wasnt even on-book; they hardly noticed it was there??!!#yall this is my real life rn. im failing my classes but yknow what??#i can pull it together enough to emergency understudy in a highly physical show 2 days before opening even with a script ive never SEEN#and apparently we made people fucking CRY. HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT#this playwright is just. incredible. the script is INSANE. 5: Did either of them try to resist their feelings?
Specifically, no. For Gaius it was difficult because well, IBS takes place when he's roughly 55-56, and he's still in an extremely awkward spot with Rytlock; then IBS itself is an extremely awkward spot with Rytlock--they finally address things by the end, but the big point of it is that Gaius is still very much not entirely aware of what he needs or wants, so even while he and Efram are interacting in that post-IBS/pre-EoD interim, he's very awkward and distant. But Gaius also just has a habit of being like that--most Dragon's Watch is pretty aware of it, they've seen how he's dealt with his problems by largely ignoring them. It takes Augustus and Efram separately talking with him about how he feels and what he wants before he decides he's ready for things, and I think EoD gets in the way of it going anywhere for a while anyway.
Love
2: What are their primary love languages?
Gaius' primary love language is dedication, the fact that he's willing, perhaps (often) unhealthily, to do whatever a person asks, give them as many chances as needed even if they're hurting him. The attention he receives in return is treated as validation--he's generally better about this, it's why he takes so much time to himself, to inspect what he's doing and his behavior, ensure he's not pushing his needs onto someone who doesn't want or isn't equipped for it.
I think Efram's love language is largely the same, that he's willing to be patient and rigid when needed? It'd be easy to not enter a relationship with someone who is, despite it all, extraordinarily co-dependent, particularly when you know, he's literally Imperator. If he wanted, he could seek out anybody else, if he wanted, he could take advantage of things, but he doesn't because he understands, and he's patient, and that takes dedication.
