so weird being an eldest sibling who can't relate to most of the "eldest sibling memes". not the being a surrogate parent against your will to your younger siblings and being expected to set the bar for success in everything you did, i did have to deal with that, but all the jokes about how you were the only one resembling an actual normal human being in your family and your younger siblings were like imps sent from hell to torment you. because out of me and my brother i was the devil sibling. he didn't like to bring his friends over to our house because they were scared of his creepy sister who would stare out at them from the windows with her horrible dead shark's eyes and read books and watch shows on tv with photos of real life decomposing corpses and diseased rotting flesh in them that would give them nightmares.

makeup stores on coruscant have to be the size of an american outlet mall or something. the amount of species it has to offer product to is like. just the tip of the iceberg. beyond that it has to offer every sort of product every species needs ('skin' (or similar) care, 'hair' (or whatever) products, shadows and mascaras, perfumes, etc), it also has to have a variety within the products (like how humans need stuff for oily skin, stuff for dry skin, stuff for 'average skin') AND a variety of shades and tones within each variety (red foundations and pink foundations and mauve concealers and chartruese correctors). NOT TO MENTION ALL OF THE BRANDS.

actually yea I’d like to think post-Toa, if Apollo and Naomi are on good enough terms with each other (friends, basically) to counteract Apollo’s inevitable awkwardness and at least somewhat counteract being an absent father for 16 years, they absolutely collaborate to terrorise her more conservative family members but not enough that they can complain about it. Just enough that they feel deeply unsettled but still feel they can’t be rude.

Like Naomi says “whew, the only thing better than making music are MEN’S TITS” and he immediately shouts “YES!!!!!!!” And they high-five.

Naomi tells Apollo she accidentally mentioned him glowing once and he makes sure to explain in incredible detail what eating an LED lamp would hypothetically do to your body.

She’s also coming up with lyrics and asks Apollo what 4 organs you would arguably survive the longest (still conscious) with if all the others have been shut down and he starts getting really really into the hypotheticals here. Then Will joins in and no one can really stop them now. (The answer is apparently Brain, Heart, Lungs, 10% of your liver and one kidney btw.)

Her family decide to meet him in a Greek restaurant when he does The Thing and loudly, casually and very enthusiastically talks with the waiters in Greek like 60% of the time (all of the Oh, where in Greece are you from? And why did you move here? what job do you do? You can ask me for xx anytime I’ll give you a discount don’t even worry about it! etc. You know how it goes). He mentions his horses and his ranch and it feels like they’ve finally found something they can talk about but then he also mentions that his horses have burned down his house 5 times and they’re rather distraught.

is there any death in the rewrite that you consider to be really graphic? where do you draw the line in the violence of a character's death?

Hmmm... Probably Tigerstar honestly! The cats wrote a song about his organs falling out.

I think when it comes to the "line" of a character's death, it's very subjective. Me and every other kid who read WC pogged out when Tigerstar had a really drawn out, horrific death on-screen, but I'm still haunted by Sootfur with his broken leg, falling down towards a badger while Squilf couldn't save him and seeing the aftermath of his "sightless eyes" when the animal moved off him.

One of those was objectively less graphic, but imo a LOT more harrowing. I think emotions are a lot more important in how deaths are received by an audience than the actual blood and guts, which I think gives you a decent idea of what you're gonna get here.

I think Leopardstar's rock concert is the "ceiling" of how intensely I describe deaths. I think that one's pretty graphic, but it's for a reason. The point is that it's a brutal killing that haunts Mistystar, you get me? And I try to write "around" the gore, describing sounds, the rest of the body, etc.

There is also cosmic/body horror with the Ancestor Rats, and more importantly, BB!Cats do food processing. They skin dead animals and separate the organs and such. When I get around to doing an entry on animal fat, I would also like to show WHERE in the body the fat is stored on certain animals. It's a lot more important to nutrition than you think it is.

BUT whenever I feel like I'm "around" Leopardstar's Boulder Appointment or an Ancestor Rat, I always always tag that. Less "violent" things like the song about the organs (Tiger's In A Heap) and more gentle food processing (like an offhanded mention of removing entrails or skinning) isn't tagged.

If I ever end up including a "diagram" of where fat is stored in the body or "how to properly skin a small rodent" It will be tagged as gore and I'd try to stay tasteful to begin with, I would ABSOLUTELY never drop something like that on anyone untagged and unwarned.
