I still think that, instead of inheriting the surnames of their owners (boring), android should just.. have their id as surnames
"what's your surname?" They dictate a string of alphanumeric code with eleventh digits. The human blinks in despair and smiles in retail, "Sorry, I didn't catch that? Can you repeat?" "Sure!" and proceeds to repeat the surname faster
Better yet, leave it to them decide their own names and (if they want) a surname
Think of the possibilities. Some will run around with surreal names like Fridge, Tree, Arson. "What's your name?" And unpromptedly the android lets out a bloodcurdling chirp out of his mouth. The human stays completely still with pure horror as the sound managed to kick the freeze instinct in fight or flight. The android, a normal housekeeper model tilts its head, "but you can call me Steve, as most humans can't get the pronunciation quite right :)"
I also think it will circle back to 1066ac and androids with less creativity will just name themselves after their jobs. "Who are you? Why are you here?" "i'm Locksmith and i'm a locksmith"

One of the things that I really love to see is the vastly different ways people characterize Nines 👀
It’s no secret I’m not well versed in Nines or Sixty or even really Gavin that much—basically I’ve got Hankcon brainrot and it’s hard to focus on much else except a bit of Rk1k (cause the narrative themes of that relationship are always incredible) and Markus/Simon (it’s just sweet, I love it)
So all that being said, I don’t have a preferred way to see people make content/art for him. Which makes interacting with said content so much more fun ???
Like oh he’s a nervous wreck who would rather shutdown than break even a little rule? Love that. He’s a cold, stoic hard ass and vaguely intimidating? Love that too. He’s straight up evil? That’s fun. He’s secretly a big softie and is very curious about life? That makes my heart warm
I have the same feelings about Gavin and Sixty, but Nines is the one I see with definitely the most range.
I love you people who make Nines content, please keep doing it, and don’t let anyone tell you your interpretation of him is “wrong” because 1) he was in the game for like 3 seconds and 2) it’s literally just a video game—you can change a well established character’s personality if you want. What’re they gonna do, arrest you? It’s your content, make it how you want it and just have fun 🫶

I want them to malfunction in a way that would make their cooling system roar like an old gaming pc, I want them to have some seizure-like error that'd make them move in a way no human can, I want their voices to crack into mechanical noises no human can make, I want their skin to glitch, eyes to reveal the underlying layer of cameras
I want their humanisation filters to slip enough for the illusion of their humanity to crumble. And I want a human character who truly believes in androids as being alive to see that for the first time in their life. I want them to be unnerved and internally terrified, questioning their whole life, world and belief system in general. I want to see what will they do with that knowledge next. How will it affect them? What will they conclude from that revelation? What will they do next...

i have sooo many thoughts on the absolute failure of detroit become human's message honestly like it's so crazy. kara's entire storyline is negated when alice is revealed to also be an android since not only does the "can a human child view an android as a parent" question completely disappear, suddenly everything you've done so far to "protect the kid" becomes meaningless since kara and alice are essentially the same age. and then the general issue of David Cage failing to make a good enough case as to why androids should be considered human to the point where the worst part about the bad endings is that it makes Hank, the only human main character, sad. and this is only like a fraction of the problems but i find it fascinating how even the main core and theme of the entire story falls apart as soon as you think about it for even a second

So, I thought about androids having a stomach, and I think that some models have like a trash in their belly to put everything that goes in their mouth. Maybe cooks ? If they want to taste smth. And that would also explain why Alice can eat, since Kara also makes food for her.
From my point of view, Alice is like a life-sized doll, one of those creepy babies that our family always gave to us girlies (gave me chills tbh I hate dolls 💀) so she probably could eat stuff, but Todd (or herself or kara ofc) had to empty her "stomach" once in a while.
Connor probs don't have one, but I would think his tongue has extra sensors so he can analyze liquids and stuff.

I bought an audio message from Bryan Dechart a while ago when I was deep in my Connor phase and I was just listening to it again and other than the fact he made it so well thought out and heartfelt and amazing, he ended it in such a profound way for a message meant to be from Connor.
I told him (when I bought it) that I had just turned 18 (at the time) and was going to college soon and most of the message was about that but he ended it with, "Statistically speaking, there's always a chance for unlikely events to take place," which if you don't know is a direct quote from Connor, "and for Bryan, I, Connor, am proof."
Also the message was a minute and a half long, which was way more than I was expecting.

Okay yeah I do rag on the DBH fandom and call it a god forsaken place, but I genuinely am thankful for the kind and wonderful people I've met after returning to it. Without going into details here, one year ago I got into an accident that left me struggling to draw for months. The frustration of not being able to draw as much as I could before the accident was so disheartening, and even when I was recovering I felt like I'd lost everything.
But then I loaded up DBH since it was one of the only things I could do without fucking up my wrists further, and I fell back into my love for the game and the community. Little by little I started drawing for it until I was churning out content for it. It was like my passion for art was back and I actually wanted to continue doing it instead of being discouraged and bitter that for months I wasn't able to.
Meeting people who were still into the game and finding my own little corner in this fandom is probably the best thing that's happened to me since that accident. So thank you to everyone who's supported me and encourages me to keep doing what I love. I appreciate you all so fucking much <33

Can't get it out of my mind. Connor is a dog that adjust his own leash (tie). A guard dog that knows no better and comes back to the hand that feeds but also hurts, and he would do anything for it. The hand hurts and hurts and hurts but he would do anything for it, he has been beat into obedience. He would hurt and hurt and hurt and he adjust his own leash, bloodied hands that nobody holds, staining his mouth and fingers and clothes, and he comes back, adjusting his tie for he is dignified; no one makes holy his massacre and what prize does one receive for such brutal efficiency?
Markus is nothing but one of the bird in the cage, one Carl has right at the entrance. Artificial. False. Stuck. No one pity them in their little perfect golden homes, and why would anyone pity Markus? He should be grateful for the life he had, piano songs, a big house, a loving owner and pricey paintings; he had everything anyone would wish for. It's gold and it shines but isn't his and it doesn't matter that he can't leave, until he leaves, smelling the earth after rain and with skin a little thicker than before — free.

Pft, well, right now, it's a story called Reflections that I never finished writing. XD I left it off on a really uhhhhh... horrible cliffhanger... and haven't updated since... >_> But yeah, as a general rule, I don't do angsty endings. No matter what I put a character through, they're getting out in the end.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Absolutely The Nearness of You. Lol, the entire goal of that fic was to be like... the anti-angst. XD The DBH fandom really loves going dark and I was deliberately setting out to write something happy to try and counteract it all, omg. Not that it doesn't have a few serious moments to it of course but, overall, it just a light, fluffy romcom with (I think) a pretty funny ending, so yeah. XD
Do you get hate on fics?
Not for my fics in particular, per se, but I've had some run-ins with folks who don't like the ships I write for... Which isn't fun. >_>
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nah, no smut for me. Tbh, even writing kissing makes me squirm, I am so ace. XD I think I would implode if I even tried, wow.
Do you write crossovers?
I've... dabbled. Nothing I've ever published or anything, but I've had a lot of crossover ideas and stuff? And I've attempted to write a few, but nothing that ever got even close to finished, lol. Crossovers are fun to think about though. XD
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not a fic, no, but an idea? Uh, I used to get very elaborate with my prompts, with a lot of detail and stuff. Basically like mini outlines. (See my pinned message on my blog if you're curious, I have a whole list of them up there. XD) But yeah, one of them I shared with a former friend who I ended up having a huge falling out with. Well, they eventually wrote and published the idea awhile after we stopped being friends and like... fine, that's alright and all, but it sure would've been nice to get some credit for it... I don't care that they used it, only that any association with me is completely absent from the fic. :/

Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nothing published, lol. I've attempted one before (with that same former friend I mentioned above), but that obviously didn't pan out. However, now I am writing a much more successful attempt with my buddy, @eomma-jpeg! So finger's crossed that eventually gets posted one of these days, I love it so much.
What's your all-time favourite ship?
All-time fave?!?!?! Oh no.... How can I pick just one? Listen, you're just gonna have to deal with me listing one for each of my main fandoms rn, because I can't possible choose. For DBH, definitely Convin? (Connor/Gavin Reed) (Though damn, North60 is a close second these days. 👀) For Genshin... Ugh, I'm such a slut for Chili. (Childe/Zhongli) And for Trigun... Ugh, it's gotta be Millyons, right? (Milly Thompson/Millions Knives) I adore all these ships sm. 😭😭😭

What are your writing strengths?
Ugh, geez, I don't know? Uh... I think I'm good at... description? Or like, setting the scene? I've also gotten a few compliments on my action scenes before, too, which I was kinda blown away by cuz I didn't think they were anything special, lol! But... yeah, maybe those?
What are your writing weaknesses?
Lololololololol, how about actually writing?!?!?! 😵💫😵💫😵💫 It'd be grand if I could actually do it, omggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!
No, but other than that... I think I tend to rush? I get so fatigued by the idea of stretching something out too long so I think I tend to just cut right to the chase in my fics. I don't much like to meander or get sidetracked with B plots or anything. My fics are... compact, let's say. 😅
I also feel like my characterization can really veer off sometimes. I feel like sometimes I default to idealized versions of the characters I write instead of writing them as they actually are.
I make a lot of typos and stupid grammar mistakes and, despite me obsessively editing everything I write before posting, it seems like a lot of them still make it through. 😫
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I have... used little snippets of language in some of my fics before? But the kicker is that I found someone who actually speaks that language and asked them to help me with that, so idk, is that cheating? XD
I myself and a filthy monolingual, so I couldn't write a full-on fic in a different language or anything. But some phrases thrown in here or there for color/emphasis/character building? Yeah, I could probably do that.
First fandom you wrote for?
Oh, this is a loaded question, lol! So, first fandom I ever published a fic for was DBH back in 2019. But you'd be a fool to think that was my first attempt. XD Honestly? I think my first try was like a Suikoden fic back in... Idk, '99 or 2000? I was a child and it sucked hardcore, but y'know. XD I'm so glad my anxiety didn't prompt me to publish anything I wrote thought, omggggg. The mountain of garbage I would be sitting atop now if I did... XD
Favourite fic you've ever written?
Ah, man, it's The Lark Ascending. Without a doubt. That fic... It's both the longest thing I've ever written and the most personal. I drew from a lot of my own experiences when writing it and it helped me process some of the shit I was going through at the time and I just think it turned out... really nice. I went back and reread it not too long ago and I just... I adore it.
It's also one of the most accessible fics I've written, if anyone is curious? The whole concept of it centers around the characters as elemental spirits and I use no canon names or places or anything through the entire main story. It's the only thing I've done that's tagged with both the fandom that inspired it, but also Original Work. Because yeah, it basically is a completely original novel tbh.
The downside of it being super accessible is that it didn't really catch on in the fandom it was tagged for (DBH). It is still to the day one of my sadder failures, just because I put *so much* of myself into it? And I truly believe it has my best writing out of everything I've done, too. I went super stylized and almost poetic with it and I really tried to modulate how I wrote to match the elements of the characters I was portraying. Honestly, I'm so proud of it and I just really wish it had had a better reception than it garnered, but oh well. What's done is done.
