Primero me he trasladado a un pueblecito con sus tradiciones y costumbres y he conocido a unos personajes que me han robado el corazón, quienes aportarán al protagonista sabiduría y experiencia. Más tarde, he viajado a Zaragoza donde por ojos de Valero he visto una ciudad industrializada de finales del XIX y aquí de nuevo he conocido a personajes entrañables. Continuo mi aventura entre sus páginas y llego a Filipinas, donde puedo ver la evolución del protagonista y conocer a unos personajes que harán historia. Y no os cuento más, porque hay que leerlo. 😃 Menudos personajes, todos ellos geniales, hasta los más odiosos no tienen desperdicio. Personajes fantásticamente perfilados pero me quedo con D. Q: What is your favorite book you read in May?. I know we're already 9 days into June but May kept me incredibly busy, I'm just now getting around to posting this, phew!. In May, I read 7 books, DNF-ed 1 book, went to 3 concerts, traveled to Chicago for a 3-day weekend, and saw 13 Broadway shows. I don’t know when I slept in May!. These are a few of my favorites from May:. 🍋 This Vicious Grace by Emily Thiede - Alessa is the chosen one – the Finestra – and each Finestra needs a Fonte – a person blessed by the goddess Dea with a unique gift – to work in tandem to protect their home island from the inevitable attack that comes every so often. This story goes with your typical “chosen one” troupe and switches it up, and I think that’s why I enjoyed it so much. It was something familiar with something new. I felt like I understood and could picture this world easily. 🐴 Something Wilder by Christina Lauren - This was Indiana Jones meets National Treasure meets -insert any rom com of your choosing here- and I loved it! I didn’t expect this to be such an adventure story and that was a pleasant surprise! This story heavily focuses on the treasure hunt aspect and trekking through the desert. The romance of Lily and Leo felt like it took a slow burn backseat to everything else going on. And you know what? I didn’t mind that at all. ⏳Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - Piranesi is one of the hardest books I may ever try to review, because it’s one of those books you need to experience for yourself. It’s strange. Day 2 of #30dayphotochallenge is #coffee . Also, for #RFABJune21 by @reviews_from_a_bookworm we have : Standalones. . In May I only finished one book: A Pocketful of Rye by Agatha Christie. I was a nice read, I gave it 3.5 stars. The ending wasn’t excellent, but it was somewhat satisfying, the criminal being one you wouldn’t expect, but could easily guess. The characters were lovely in their own way, and one of my favourites was Mary Dove. This is the first “Miss Marple” book I have actually finished. I love Poirot more than anyone, but I can’t deny that I was attracted by this book, the setting, the plot and the characters. . Happy Monday bookworms! . Unsurprisingly, launching @debut.books meant that my reading in May took a hit! All but one book had queer characters and really, I should have saved them all for June! . 👑 I reread Queendom of the Seven Lakes and Kingdom of the Seven Lakes by @alicejaneboere and I love them even more! They’re wonderful and Alice is rereleasing them on July 1 as a single edition! I highly encourage you to read them! 🍆 Invisible Boys by @holdensheppard hit me hard and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. It is a challenging and brilliant read and one that I believe everyone should read. More to come on this one. ⛷ Peta Lyre’s Rating Normal by @annawhateley_writer was great. I read it straight after Please Don’t Hug Me and really appreciated the difference of experience and voice. 🍩 Please Don’t Hug Me by @kaykerr_ was absolutely wonderful. Read this book! 🧜🏻‍♀️ In an Absent Dream and Come Tumbling Down by @seananmcguire was a delicious conclusion to the series so far. I am so glad I discovered these books and really, really hope there are more to come! 🧙🏼‍♀️ This Coven Won’t Break by @isa_sterling was perfect. Loved it!! 🐉 @patricknessbooks is my one of my all time favourite authors and Burn is f*#king brilliant. Read it. 📚 The three graphic novels - The Backstagers Vol 1, Smooth Criminals Vol 2 and The Avant-Guards Vol 2 - were a joy and an escape. 👩🏻 @womankindmag is the best magazine and I always seem to read it at a moment when I need it.
