Heartbreaking gut wrenching ruin your life König headcanons:
Despite his good homelife, he was severely bullied in school and never told his mother
His dad was in the military and died when he was a kid, his mom had to work a lot to provide for him
Their relationship is kinda strained, not because of any disagreements, but because they never spent a lot of time together
His mother worked constantly to provide for him and König appreciated that, so he tried to never bother her with anything unnecessary
She would spend her nights off going to bars for fun and would bring König along. He was always uncomfortable but understood that his mom needed this break. He would ask for the keys and head home.
She would return hours later blind drunk and pass out. He would care for her and didn’t resent for this, though he felt like he should.
He saw his bullying as unnecessary so he didn’t tell her and she felt immense guilt when she found out
They love each other a lot and the times that they were together, they got along and had fun together
His bullies and him are the same age and so they stayed together through the years
They beat him up a lot and his injuries through the years total was 1 broken leg, sprained wrist, 7 broken fingers, 3 broken arms, 2 sprained ankles, lost one tooth, 1 broken nose, and 4 concussions
Spread out over 10 ish years
They’d also mess with his head. For the first few years, the bullies would send in the ‘new guys’ to befriend him then humiliate him
A girl asked to a fair once and when they met there, she dumped food on him and laughed in his face.
It happened twice before he never tried to make anymore friends. Though he always wanted one
Some new kids would try to befriend him but he couldn’t tell if they were genuine or messing with him so he told them to stay away.
They taught him that violence was the only way to communicate and be listened to, giving him the appearance of a quick temper and mean disposition
Once a teen, his gym coach took him to an illegal fighting club and he began to participate. He was very good and learned to fight there.
The coach would praise him when he won and gave him a small cut.
Even better is that the school (that was closed when König was 20) was a very BAD school.
Like, the teachers were abusive and the principal didn’t care. They were really strict and mean, hitting kids when they made even a slight mistake.
When he lost, the coach would burn him with cigarettes.
He eventually quit so he could leave for the military.
He began to think that if he had to repeat himself more than once, no one really cared about him and he had to make them listen
In reality, he would be willing to repeat something as many times as needed and is very patient, gentle, and forgiving
He was the kind of person he needed growing up
He craved emotional connections and friendships, willing to do anything (even if he knows he doesn’t want to) to stay friends
He wanted to be understood and treated like a person, like he is something precious and worth anything
If he sees someone going through tough times and in need of support or comfort, he will comfort them very well
Whether he talks, hugs, or brings them their favorite treat, or alerts a close friend knowing they would hate having a stranger help them
The kindness was never returned because if König showed that side of himself to anyone, he would punish himself for being weak after
He was like this for his entire time before the military, and the beginning of his career. These habits and kindness were dropped after about six months.
He would spend time in the schools music room with a piano and play. He ended up becoming pretty good and always wanted someone to play for,
but the only time he tried to, the next day, the piano strings were broken and the keys smashed
He stopped playing after that.
He doesn’t care if someone else seems weak or breaks down, but he can’t let himself
Because of his abuse, he has self-harmed and made one attempt on his life
He ended up running to his mother’s work and they cried together in the back alley behind the restaurant she worked at. Him on his knees leaning all the way down to have his head in her stomach and arms around her waist as she stays seated with her back straight
He apologizes for attempting, for lying about the bullying, for not telling her, for not being able to stand up for himself, for crying, for interrupting her work when rent is coming up, for bothering her, for being a failure, bad sons, and existing.
She was let off early and they got ice cream together
He still hates himself for worrying her, but ultimately doesn’t regret going to the restaurant that day.
He was always alone with his thoughts and they never improved after his attempt, not for a long time
König did get his revenge.
At the end of the year, last week of classes after his exams and he had basically graduated. He went after his bullies.
It was after school, he had had enough and grabbed a chair, metal and plastic.
He beat them all with it and they ended up in the hospital. He wasn’t biased either, leader or lackey, they all got beat the same.
The only reason that he got off was because his mother provided hospital records/bills.
He left as soon as he could and only told his mother since he had no other family.
He has told no one in KorTac about his past at all but made some concerning comments.
He was asked if he was bullied once, he said ‘no, it was abuse’ and left it at that.
Whenever he is nervous or scared or doesn’t know how to react emotionally, he will laugh uncontrollably
(I do this too. Saw a friend in elementary school break her arm and run to her dad crying. I had no idea what happened or what to do and started laughing. I apologized obvi and she understood but it wasn’t my finest moment.)
This got him into serious trouble. A lot
He also has a habit of biting his nails, lips, twiddling his fingers behind his back, and pinching himself when nervous.
When he joined the military he was wanted to be a sniper and failed. They wanted a battering ram and they used him so he’s really scarred and then the sniper hood was adopted.
He felt like he never had friends until KorTac. His job was to destroy whatever they wanted and he did it.
Desperate for validation and approval, he would do whatever anyone wanted in a professional sense and never asked questions or talked back
He became well loved by the people above him because of this.
It was a very dehumanizing experience for him since none of the higher ups cared about him and told him as much many times. Though, they did adore him for what he could do for them.
They also taught him not to express emotion except when he was on a mission, though it was more indirectly. They would praise his skills more when he reacted less so violence became he outlet, just like his childhood violence became his language
He crashes hard after, dissociating and his anxiety increases astronomically. Logically he knows this shouldn’t happen but he continues the cycle.
He can’t talk, hardly moves until they arrive back, and closes his eyes so people are less concerned about him not blinking, he trembles a little, and (when on solo missions) tears up.
The other operators at first try to talk to him after to check in but he never responds or looks at them. Just keeps his eyes closed or stares at the floor.
Normally he fidgets, rubbing/moving his hands, bouncing a leg in excitement on the way, but during the crash he goes totally still and quiet.
he did get along quite well with his old squad, but he wasn’t close with them at all. None of them were close, but they were friendly enough
On a mission, his team was sent to infiltrate a compound and none except him made it out. He was covered in blood and the enemies inside were mangled, some beheaded since König didn’t control his strength.
He gained the nickname ‘Bloody King’ after this. His missions became longer and more taxing, in response he became more violent. Always coming back bloody and glaring.
As a child, the horrible temper he developed because of how he was treated would get worse somehow and would frequently beat up people who go after him or talk back at all.
This extreme violence and anger to everything stayed for a long period and he hates himself even more
He became meaner in the field, taunting/laughing his enemies, less patient, and taking a bit too much pride in his handiwork. He was never disrespectful or disobedient, even if the higher ups where the ones he desperately wanted to be angry at
Though, these habits and mannerisms can be seen off the field often too.
He was described as psychotic, sadistic, sociopathic, and demonic. He can become incredibly heartless and cruel in the field. It hasn’t become a problem for his teammates really. But if they are the same or lower rank, just listen and don’t question him, he will make you miserable.
His sadistic/mean streak can show up off the field. If he sees someone hurt themselves on base he will think it’s hilarious, even if the person is severely injured and needs immediate medical attention.
Sometimes he hurts other for fun or to prove a point. He doesn’t control his strength either, he doesn’t care.
Despite this, he is incredibly logical and smart. It may seem like he has no plan, but he does and it ends with him winning. Few times it hasn’t, he can cope/adjust very well
He has the brains to match the muscle and, despite how it seems, he is a pretty good manipulator and is very knowledgeable about
The validation they gave him seemed to great of a thing to lose, even if all he got was ‘good work’
That was usually all he got, never anything more
He was often incredibly stressed out and paranoid because of the meds for his social anxiety and depression. So he hardly slept for a long time
He would go days without sleeep, hallucinating when off the field. It made his everyday life even more difficult especially since the hallucinations were of his old school bullies, so he would take out his fear on others.
Many attempts were made to get different meds or dosages but they required approval from the head of the unit, who would not give his permission since he hated König
It was a known problem so when speaking to König, people had to touch him to let him know they were real but he hated touch so most would quickly poke his hand or arm to catch his attention.
Otherwise he would ignore you, pretending he isn’t hallucinating.
The unit commander was incredibly violent, feeding König’s temper. If someone made a mistake, the commander punished someone else horribly.
König snapped once and murdered him in the field but no one else was there so he was considered KIA.
By the time he joins KorTac, he is cold, sadistic, unfeeling, and cruel. He has little care for others besides their affect on him and on the mission.
He dislikes everyone and has quite the temper on him, that he doesn’t show at first.
He is smart and can be a formidable threat when he feels like causing trouble. He has no issues with hurting others for any reason and will do so without question or complaint.
He has chosen to accept that this is his life and makes no effort to change since he believes nothing can change.
