Masetto
There's honestly not much to say here. Masetto will be dressed in whatever way Zerlina is dressed, other than that he just has two dials labeled "oppressed -> angry" and "loves Zerlina 0 -> 10", which make sense at any setting.
I have seen some interesting versions of the character, but they're not really flavors, they're just neat ideas that don't affect the main themes of a production all that much.
Some screenshots:

I do also like the Masettos that always have their gang of angry farmers with them, but that's hard to capture in an image.

Don Giovanni
Bryn Terfel, Renée Fleming, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Solveig Kringelborn, Paul Groves, Hei-Kyung Hong, John Relyea, Sergei Koptchak The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus, James Levine Production by Franco Zeffirelli, 2000
Act 1 - E. Don Giovanni's ballroom - 2. Finale Act 1
Soon Zerlina scream is heard; Elvira, Anna and Ottavio, as well as Masetto, make to rescue her. Giovanni re-enters, dragging Leporello and denouncing him as the miscreant. No one, however, believe him, and Act 1 ends in confusion, with Elvira, Anna and Ottavio facing Giovanni and calling down vengeance upon him.

RANKING OF OPERA CHARACTER NAMES BASED ON HOW SIMILAR THEY ARE TO SPANISH WORDS FOR CUPS
3. about 99.9% of opera characters in existence
0/10 . their names are regular names and are not cup-like (carmen, jose, giovanni, tosca, angelina, etc etc etc)
2. masetto from don giovanni
close to maceta, which means pot. close, but not quite. following spanish gendering conventions, i guess masetto can be a masculine pot.
1. frasquita from carmen
frasquita meaning small bottle/pitcher. as cup-like as it gets

no i know i've already posted about this but it's crazy how don g is an opera that genuinely makes no fucking sense if you divorce it from its original context and yet you'll probably never see a traditional production in your life lol
if don giovanni looks like a hobo and zerlina and masetto are a normal 21st century couple getting married HOW does the plot even happen. like why are you letting this unknown man bully you— and why is he getting away with everything always? where's the police? wait does he have a SLAVE or something? is that legal?
hm.. could it be that the core of the play is that don giovanni..... is a 18th century nobleman?

Inspired by @faintingheroine's similar poll about Aşk-ı Memnu, I thought I would ask my fellow opera buffs how they feel about the various character dynamics in Don Giovanni. As many opera commentators have written, the libretto isn't very tightly plotted, but it excels in its vivid characters and the engaging ways they interact with each other. So I'd like to know: which relationship stands out the most to you?

finally. dog giovanni.
info (?) + closeups + additional doodles under cut:

so i made leporello a whippet, partially because they were used to hunt rabbits and are a bit aloof but also kind of vibes based.
husky don giovanni. nothing but vibes here. you know, the dog known for being very fucking vocal? yeah.
elvira was the first one i dogified in my brain, and she was a rottweiler to me. me personally, i really love rottweilers. they’re known for being FIERCELY loyal. and their rottie rumbles.
this was a suggestion by @/cartridgeconverter (thank you!), anna is a bloodhound
do i even need to say anything for poodle ottavio.
zerlina is a papillon (a suggestion by @/cartridgeconverter!!)
virgil also suggested that masetto be some sort of cattledog— and initially i had masetto as a beauceron but then i was like … i don’t know man. so i made him into a red heeler/australian cattle dog. purely vibes based.
and now, additional doodles with probably the funniest concept i’ve ever come up with (not rlly)

Bryn Terfel, Renée Fleming, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Solveig Kringelborn, Paul Groves, Hei-Kyung Hong, John Relyea, Sergei Koptchak The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus, James Levine Production by Franco Zeffirelli, 2000
Act 1 - D. A garden outside Don Giovanni's palace - 2. Don Giovanni finds Zerline and the guests arrive
But then Giovanni's voice is heard and Zerlina's nervousness again arouses Masetto's suspicious. He conceals himself, but step forward to prevent Giovanni from leading Zerlina away; Giovanni hands her back to him, and all three go off to the dance. Now Elvira, Anna and Ottavio enter, masked; they intend to comfort Giovanni. They are seen from a balcony by Leporello, and Giovanni invites them in. Before they enter they pray for heaven's assistance.
