In my recent tutorial I have got to the stage where I need to prepare for my postcards and zine/book. I was confused to what a zine looked like and my tutor gave me a few examples of artists which create zines and books for their work. I particularly liked Mark Longs’ illustrations and his book which he did based on football. As my tutor wants to see me work with thicker brush strokes and lines and this is a good example to use. I like how he uses just two contrasting colours, red and blue and relies on the white background as the 3rd colour. I will do some swatches of colours which contrast in my colour book to then pick which go best to illustrate ‘things that folks pawn’, this would relate to my narrative and box which I produced earlier in the week.
