Almost done my novel research, I just need to get to the terror and the (justified) trial and execution of Marie Antoinette and Louis le incompetent <- I’m not saying his number he doesn’t deserve that.

Also... Robespierre was a saint compared to feudalism, monarchy and what Louis (and every French monarch before him) was doing to Haiti.

I cannot wait to see this new series on Marie Antoinette! But I live in the states so we won’t be getting it until the spring. What can you tell me about it? I’ve heard it’s very Louis and Antoinette centric which pleases me. Slow burn? Do they love each other? How are their sexual struggles portrayed and is the consummation depicted?

I have seen it on streamio, dubbed and original with various subs.

Louis and Antoinette are very slow burn, they started as strangers who looks each other and after 7 episodes they really understand the other. Is it love? Idk, it's more a partneship than a relationship but it works, they understand each other, they know each other, a well done marriage for a royal wedding in the XVIII° century

The sexual struggeles are ALL about Louis, he's depicted as a very shy youn boy who suddley had a very beautiful wife, he loves her very much but he didn't know how to do the first step. So he saw her, he spies on her and... never happened. The, thanks to Joseph, he finally gain the sel confidence to do something and... it's a succes. Like a teen com: Louis is the shy nerd, Toinette the it girl, Provence&Therese the evil gay and Chartes the party boy

You hesitantly agree, praying that it's not a trap.

And surprisingly, it wasn't, Napoleon received you in his court with a smile and open arms, not caring about the opinions of others about that matter.

The reason for Napoleon's passion towards you is because he saw a painting of you and immediately became obsessed.

When you found out that the French emperor plans on making you his mistress.

You planned to escape, not wanting to be put in a scandalous position.

However, during your escape in the middle of the night, trying to leave the palace with your servants.

You didn't expect to see Napoleon waiting for you at the exit with his soldiers.

He only smiles at you upon seeing your frightened expression.

— She was beautiful, a warm and caring mother/grandmother, was popular as Princess of Wales and Queen Consort among of her people because of her good nature, and she supported many charities, including her own: "Alexandra Rose Day", founded by Queen Alexandra in 1912, this was a charity where flowers were being sold and all the money went to supporting Londoners in poverty. This was inspired by a priest in her native Denmark selling roses to raise money for those in need, Queen Alexandra brought the idea back to the United Kingdom. ❤✨

#2: Queen Anne Boleyn of England – (nèe Lady Anne Boleyn)

— She was intelligent, funny, caring and kind to all of people, and as her two years as Queen Consort she supported many charities, and even "gave alms to the poor, provided for widows, and even sewed shirts and smocks for the needy". She also helped with promoting new educational identities for monasteries, which were no longer under the protection of the Catholic Church. After only two years of being Queen Consort when she was said to have been 35 years old, she was executed after being imprisoned in the Tower of London for 17 days because she was accused of committing treason, but the true reason she was executed was because she failed to give King Henry VIII a male heir. ☹️💔

#3: Queen Marie Sophie of the Two Sicilies – (nèe Duchess Marie Sophie in Bavaria)

— She was beautiful, bright, and fierce. She was given the nickname the "Warrior Queen", the "Heroine of Gaeta" and the "modern Joan of Arc", rallying the troops, nursing the injured, feeding her forces at her own table and taunting Garibaldi's army from the battlements with the words; "Go ahead and shoot me. She did not care for ceremonial duties and public events, and lived a discreet life dedicated to her children and her interests in art, literature and charity. After a short tenure of only six years as Queen, she was widowed in 1912.

Very attached to traditions, with a sensitive soul and a lively and curious mind, she was endowed with a strong love for nature: her favourite flower was the Cyclamen. She was a very tall woman of 180 cm (5'11). As Queen, her commitment to numerous charitable and welfare initiatives, which assured her great sympathy and popularity, was profuse. The Queen went well beyond mere charity: her evangelical spirit led her to practice every day the most genuine and most charitable love of neighbor.

#10: Queen Marie of Romania – (nèe Princess Marie of Edinburgh), "Missy".

— She was described as very beautiful and high spirited. As a young girl, Marie was very close with her sisters, but mostly her sister Victoria Melita, they played many games with their father and Marie's mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh neglected Marie and her sisters' education, considering them not very bright or gifted. But in the fields of painting and drawing, Marie and her sisters had inherited her grandmother, Queen Victoria's talent. On October 11th, 1914, Marie and her husband Ferdinand were acclaimed as king and Queen in the Chamber of Deputies. Princess Anne Marie Callimachi, a close friend of Marie, wrote that "as Crown Princess, she had been popular; as Queen, she was more loved". The reign of Louis is characterized by the blossoming of French culture, military power and political weight. The marriage produced 15 children: Charles X, Joaquina, Antoinette, Philip, Victoria, Louise, Elizabeth, Francis, Alexandr, Nicolas, Henry, Therese, Gedeon, Leon and Andrew.

Louis Charles(1785 - 1840). Duke of Anjou. Husband of Amelia of Great Britain. From the first days of their marriage the spouses felt a chill for each other. Halloween Costume Headcanons 2022

Happy Halloween, Tumblrs! Despite tragedy surrounding this year’s festivities (#PrayersforItaewon) and the bridge collapse in western India (which occurred on the last day of Diwali,) I hope those of you not directly impacted/affected by these events enjoy a safe and fun holiday.

🃏 - What in your world is so out there that it baffles everyone? An example from our world could be whales that are so huge we can't imagine it, or medical advances.

This is... difficult to answer cause the world of liaisons x vampires is just our world, but with vampires.

However, one thing that astonished me in doing my novella research was just how long the ancien regime kept their power, despite the failing nature of their system and the corruption of the monarchy.

Marie Antoinette famously said when the palace fell (paraphrasing), "You have to kill me before you take my crown (the monarchy) or my husband (the incompetent monarch)."

No words for Marie Antoinette of France, just yikes. I think she's fascinating but an awful person and was a mediocre royalist at best.

This follows the story from the game and Lafayette's route. Some small changes here and there.

For outfits that are in the game that are wildly historically inaccurate, such as the Day Dream set, I will be drawing a historically accurate version. :)

I will be doing others for Fersen, Louis XVI, Blaisdell, and maybe even one for our girl Gabrielle.

I don't think I'll publish the whole thing on Tumblr, just given how long this will end up being.

I can't believe I'm writing a fanfic about Marie Antoinette... this just feels disrespectful lol

Marie Antoinette anon here! Thanks for your answer! I think that portrayal makes sense. They were so young and inexperienced and then suddenly expected to become adults. Poor kids. Glad they finally figured things out before everything went downhill. How graphic is the series? As far as the sex scenes go? I think the same creators that did Versailles worked on this so I wondered. From the trailer it looks like things get pretty steamy lol.

Nothing so graphic, between them.

There's something about du Barry and Aguillon, it was rumored that they were lovers or he was his client when she was a sex worker, something about Provence and Josephine, who's really frustrating 'cause he was impotent ( historically canon ), and... others

Maria Theresa of Savoy (31 January 1756 – 2 June 1805) was a French princess by marriage to Charles Philippe, Count of Artois; he being the grandson of Louis XV of France, and younger brother of the future Louis XVI of France. Nineteen years after Maria Theresa’s death, her spouse assumed the throne of France as King Charles X. Her son, Prince Louis Antoine, married Marie Antoinette’s daughter Marie-Thérèse Charlotte, they being the King and Queen of France for approximately 20 minutes on 2 August 1830.
