I'm obviously very happy for Adrinette this season, but I can't help but feel sad over the rise of Ladrien salt with the newest trash take that Ladrien was so boring and toxic and that's why they couldn't be together. With Marichat, they were able to get together. I'm just really bummed now.

I haven't seen Ladrien salt in a minute, but I tend to block anyone who posts stuff like that in the tag, so it's possible I've just blocked the main offenders cause ain't nobody got time for that mess.

The thing about that argument is that it's not true? The point of Elation was that MC couldn't be together. People got distracted by the kissing and roaming the city under the moonlight, but the point of that episode was that they couldn't be together that way. They literally said it in the episode. They were canon for like 30 seconds, then they broke things off immediately. 🤡

As for Ladrien, their side took a big hit at the end of s4, but if I had to wager, they are probably okay now at this point in canon because LN made up and are friends now and Marinette and Adrien are dating. Marinette wouldn't have reason to flip out around him anymore as Ladybug, especially after recent developments with Felix, and Adrien doesn't have to feel bad about what happened either. They've moved past it for the most part and are now focused on healing and fixing. All sides of the square are pretty much good rn. LN are friends, MC is an ex fling/one nighter/still technically one-sided because Adrinette is dating, and Ladrien is now one-sided for the same reason but even then not really because, again, they're dating. MC stans have always been a different breed of oblivious when it comes to canon. After all they are the origins of the true selves trope, and we all know how much water that holds in canon 😂

Ladrien didn't need to "get together" to be valid. None of the sides did, even Adrinette. The beautiful thing about the square is that there has always been a blend of love and friendship. They're partners and friends and in love. All of those parts of their relationship are valid and important for the love square as a whole. So, anyone saying any side of the square is boring or toxic or undeserving or not as good as some other side are full of shit, and they don't understand the love square. I recommend blocking Ladrien haters on principle. They're not anyone you should lament being rid of, nor should their stupidity ever make you feel bad. Their takes are often incredibly wrong and not rooted in canon, so don't take anything they say to heart.

Okay I don’t really post a lot on here but I really wanted to put in my two cents on Gang of Secrets (Yes, I know I’m two days late) OH MY GOD, GUYS! Thomas Astruc and the gang promised that this would be an emotional season but GOS absolutely went above and beyond all of my expectations, and trust me: they were high. I thought Chat Blanc was the peak of Angst and Fluff and then we’re hit with this episode! Every single time I thought that it had reached the best part, something even better happened! Here comes a rant

Adrien really out and tried the oldest move in the book with that stretch arm around her thing and I adore him for that

Also can we PLEASE talk about Adrien's character development? Yeah, he was putting the moves on Ladybug as always because he didn't know about her breakup or pain. The SECOND he realized something was really wrong, he stopped and was there for her, recognizing her heartbreak. Can we please stop giving him shit for flirting? He didn't show a hint of jealousy or pride that now she's single and can date him or something like that. He was a perfect gentleman and even better A GOOD FRIEND TO HER.

Marinette using Ladybug as an escapism tactic, hiding away from her own life by staying in Ladybug. That hurt and also felt like a personal attack on my own escapism tactics.

Trixx was so sweet, trying to encourage Marinette to call the girls back and taking down the pictures that made her sad. We need more Trixx content!!!

Alya is so understanding that Marinette, the girl who had always been so open and honest and bubbly, is keeping something to herself that's weighing her down. And she doesn't push her to talk about it. Just offers her support. What a wonderful day to stan Alya Cesaire.

Marinette really set it up like she was about to come out to Alya and I'm wheezing

THE REVEAL

Alya didn't freak out or ask Marinette to prove it or even ask any questions. She was surprised for a moment and then immediately thought about the overwhelming pressure those responsibilities were putting on her best friend and set aside all of her own thoughts and reactions to comfort her. She is such an amazing person and amazing friend and I'm loving watching the Alya salters pout about this episode.
