➤ SPIDER-VERSE CHARACTERS WITH AN AUTISTIC READER
miles morales, hobie brown, pavitr prabhakar, malala windsor (spider-uk), lyla, gwen stacy, peni parker, margo kess (spider-byte), jess drew, earth-42!miles morales, miguel o'hara
Tumblr media
miles! who is surprisingly good at interpreting what you're trying to communicate when you're low on words. it took a bit of practice — his first few attempts of figuring out what you're trying to say leaving quite a bit to be desire — but after the first few times, he's really good at it. you need time alone? he can see it in the certain way you shake your head or bite your lip. you're anxious? just need a shoulder to cry on? he knows exactly what you mean and is there ready to hold you for as long as you need. it's a very impressive talent at this point, you have no idea how he does it
hobie! who — when he noticed you picking up his accent when talking to him — thought you were making a joke/mocking him. he didn't mind that much, but teased you about it before seeing your expression of confusion, until he realised you hadn't realised you were doing it. you even pick up some phrases from him. he also just finds it kind of cool, especially if he overhears you talking to someone else with a slight accent you picked up from him/he notices you imitating someone else's accent in a conversation. he probably picks yours up from you from time-to-time too
pavitr! who stims with you. you're vocal-stimming? he's repeating it back with no shame and suddenly you're both just making noises back-and-forth. you're bouncing up and down because you're really excited? he's bouncing with you too!! you're bouncing your leg nervously? he's doing it too, but this time he doesn't realise — it's just something he picked up from you. you're tapping your fingers on a table/surface because you're anxious or scared? he's drumming his fingers too, making little rythms to help distract you!! if you need someone who won't make you feel weird for stimming, he is your #1 guy
malala! who is really good at helping you when it comes to an autistic meltdown. she knows when to keep her distance, and she's more than fine with staying with you as long as you need, helping you calm down. she understands how distressing it can be, and understands that it can be even worse if you're all alone, so she's there for you. the queen of grounding strategies, she knows so many for like any situation, and is very patient when helping you through with them. she'll also stick around after, helping you and talking things out if you need. she can give pretty good advice, but also knows that talking can be hard and is totally down to just watch a movie with you or something!
lyla! who never judges you for not being able to control your volume. she may be an AI, but you've also been witness to her happily teasing miguel many a time, so it's nice to know she could care, but she doesn't — she really just doesn't mind it! if other people bring up your unpredictable volume, just go and talk to her! she's fun to talk to and if she hears someone made you feel insecure she's not against being just that extra bit annoying to them. if she's 'there' when it happens, she'd probably start talking really loudly too, to mess with whoever commented on it
gwen! who is just as bad with social cues as you are. she can infer some things, but really with how little she picks up on and how similar those things are to the ones you don't pick up on, you wouldn't be surprised if she's autistic too. she tries to be very observant if the two of you are in some sort of social setting, taking note of any social cues she might have missed otherwise. you two have a sort of communication system for moments like these, where she might tap your hand when she's confused or you might whisper a question in her ear subtly. it works surprisingly well, and you've breezed through more social situations than you'd usually be able to with her! there's absolutely awkward moments though where you're both just lost, don't worry though, she's like double awkward and can navigate out of that with sudden laughs or puns
peni! who always has something to chew on with her. with it be lollipops, chewing gum, or even just a random paperclip, she's always got something near her. having gum/something to chew on helps her think so she totally gets it if you ask for some (though it'd probably be a good idea to explain — even just briefly — that it's for a sensory thing and not just you trying to steal all her candy, then she'd be more understanding). if she ever gets a new candy she's never had before or a new flavour of gum, she always tell you excitedly because at this point she shares like half her candy with you (and doesn't mind and all, knowing how helpful it is for you)!
margo! who totally understand when certain songs/sounds sound really stimmy/nice. you know that effect some people put on songs that make it echo back and forth between your ears? she'd totally learn how to put that effect on all your favourite songs knowing that you'd love it. you mention a certain music genre/music technique sounds really stimmy to you? she's recommending you every song she hears that fits that description, she probably has a whole playlist of songs she knows you'd absolutely be stimming aggressively to. she thinks it's so cool that some sounds make you feel like that, and also just loves seeing you happy!
jess! who understands how important schedules can be to you, and how distressing it can be when things don't go as they did yesterday, so she plans everything with that in mind. her life is very all over the place, with being in the spider-society, let alone being spider-woman in general, but makes plans for the things she knows she can control. there's of course times when she's had to frantically call off plans for emergencies or disrupt the schedule, but she always understands it's impact on you and apologises every time. she promises to make it up to you and always does, she's known other autistic before and understands how important the structure is to you. she knows sudden changes suck, to say the least. trust me, if someone's planning like a surprise birthday party or something for you, she's got a few notes and perhaps a very polite "that's a bad idea" to whoever's planning it
earth-42!miles! who has no problems with listening to you ramble. he has a lot of responsibilities and is busy a lot of the time, but when he has down-time and finally gets a chance to rest, he actually loves to hear you infodump. it's so relaxing and comforting for him to just be able to listen to your voice as you talking about your latest hyperfixation, or having conversations with him about your special interest(s). he genuinely does listen, and sometimes he's very tired so he might not catch all of what you're saying, but he's definitely making an effort to listen to you. when he has more energy, he'll have proper conversations with you about all these things. that's when you really know he's been listening, when he asks questions, and there's something special in his eyes that tells you he really does care and he really does love to listen to you
miguel! who — when he first met you — found it really hard to communicate with you. he was used to people not exactly being fond of him, or being rather quiet when he was angry, but there was something a little off-putting about the way you were around him. it took a lot of asking lyla to talk to you and just observation to figure out you weren't the best with figuring tone. from then on he's more careful, not dancing around subjects at all — not that he used to really do that, but he makes a conscious effort to avoid that — and being as clear as possible as he can with his voice & body language. he absolutely tries to let you know he's open to you asking a clarifying question if you're still confused too. your confusion isn't really completely avoidable, it's just who you are, but he does everything he can to make things easier for you!
Tumblr media
i absolutely LOVED writing these so much!! if you want to request another post like this, or a fic with any spider-verse character and an autistic reader, please do!! i'm not sure if i've seen any spider-verse x reader fics with autistic representation yet, so i'm more than happy to be the one to write those for you all! 💛 i also might have missed some characters in this, so if you want to request these kinds of headcanons for a character i forgot about, feel free to!!
(i love writing for less popular characters like margo, malala, peni, etc, so please do request anything for them too because i totally wanna write more for them in the future!!!)

Well I said I’d get better at sharing my art on here and then realised last time I promoted any of my stickers on here was over a year ago. Oops. The fun story with these stickers are I’d drawn almost all of them, we had a power cut that, despite having saved this file multiple times over multiple days, corrupted the Photoshop file beyond repair and I had to draw them all again. But I got them them finished aaaa. 🕸️ ❤️
As always with my little chibis, they’re available as stickers, and as badges with customisable backgrounds of any colour of pride flags that you want. I can’t link to my Etsy without risking Tumblr hiding the post, but the link is in my pinned post, my carrd, I’m emptymasks on Etsy.
Reblogs help support artists more than likes ❤️
[ID: Individual chibi drawings of 30 characters from the Spiderverse films and comics that are available as stickers. Also as badges where they are placed inside circles to show what they will look like as physical button badges, some of them with plain colour backgrounds and some with 1-3 different pride flags as examples of how you can customise the backgrounds.]

Researching Characters so you don't have to Part 7: Who is Malala Windsor/Spider UK?
Tumblr media
She's an original character made by Sony who is believed to come from Earth-835. She's from the United Kingdom and a mix of Malala Yousafzai and the current reigning House of Windsor. Therefore, we can assume that she's probably a princess of some sort who protects the city of London as the vigilante, Spider-woman.
Backstory:
There were two original Spider-UK's in the comics, neither of them being the same as Malala Windsor, but they probably have similar backstories.
Billy Braddock:
He comes from Earth-833 and was a Captain Britain Corps recruit. He appeared in the Edge of the Spider-verse comics in Earth-65, Spider-woman's world, and recruited her to the Spider-men army. In the comics his dimension is eventually attacked and his reality was destroyed, leaving him the sole survivor. He teams up with Anya Corazón and stays in the same reality as her afterwards.
Zarina Zahari:
She's a young girl living in Earth-834's United Kingdom who was also bit by a spider and gained the powers of spider-woman. She's part of an organization called WHO, which stands for Weird Happenings Organization, and eventually teams up with the rest of the spiders to fight a multiverse threat.
Overall, there's not much backstory to Malala Windsor because she's a completely new character, but hopefully we can learn more about her in the next movie!
Who should I do next? I have Jess Drew planned, but other than that I'm not sure what characters y'all would like to see lol

I loved your autistic reader headcanons. this doesn't have to be a request, it can be some back and forth (like a conversation because I absolutely love diving into stuff like this) I'm curious what else these characters will do/act as a result of the readers autism. I'm bad at wording things so I'll get to the point. Hobie canonically isn't consistent because he dislikes consistency, but maybe a reader with autism needs routine and consistency, so how will that change their dynamic? another example is pravitr, as stimmy and cool as he is he might be too loud and the reader might get easily overwhelmed. gwen and Miguel might not be able to figure out what the reader wants/ needs if they're non-verbal or are struggling to speak their mind. what will jess or malala do when the reader is so hyperfixated on something they neglect their own needs. This isn't exactly a request for a part 2 but you're the first person who posted about an autistic reader (that I've seen) so I'd love to maybe talk about this with you and get ideas because it's exciting. I know talking about this here might not be the best but if you're totally cool with it I'd love to just talk about these ideas elsewhere.
Oh this ask has absolutely made my day, I have SO many thoughts on these characters with an autistic reader and I'm soso happy to have someone to talk about it with.
With Hobie I feel like it leans towards a bit like what I said with Jess but even less structure. like i feel like thered have to be a compromise between hobie and reader (which would be a whole ordeal in of itself if youre anything like i am when it comes to having to compromise with things like this) where maybe every fortnight they have to figure out something set-in-stone like hanging out or something? ALSO i know a big thing in lots of reader insert fics people like is the trope of the spider-person randomly showing up at reader's house/apartment with injuries and (ofc all of this differs person-to-person) i feel like thatd have to be a no-go with these characters and an autistic reader, like for me i feel like thatd be such a huge disruption to everything itd probably be the trigger for some sort of downwards spiral. but i totally feel like thisd be a hard thing for hobie and an autitic reader to navigate bc even right now its hard for me to thinking of possible solutions yk?
Youre totally right about Pavitr and I feel like he'd honestly get it wrong a lot of times (which is not at all his fault), and he can be observant but he also might not pick up on the correlation between him being extra loud/energetic and reader's sensory overload? this also makes me think of things like the headcanon of spider people having enhanced sensory stuff leading to them sometimes also experiencing sensory overload — which isnt really a hc i have for pavitr specifically but i feel like on some level he might relate a bit? or maybe hed pick up on reader's reactions because hes seen it happen with other spider people before bc of that heightened senses stuff? I feel like he's a big physical touch guy and is a bit unsure with how to comfort someone if they do get sensory overload bc they might not want more sensations, which means no touching, so comforting/helping with that might be a bit difficult to figure out for him in that regard?
Ohhh boy gwen or miguel with a reader who has run out of words/in general isnt very verbal would certainly be An Experience. they both DO care but ohhhh there is SO much trial and error through it all.
gwen likes silence but also feels a need to fill said silence at the same time, saying the first thing that comes to mind, so like an autistic person who finds comfort in parallel play's worst nightmare. thats something that she'd probably have to be talked to about pretty outright, bless her heart she can just be so awkward and unsure of herself that she might just not pick up on why you get so frustrated with her trying to fill every silence, probably thinking you find it annoying bc of something she said and not bc you just need/enjoy the silence.
I can just imagine miguel just. watching so awkwardly and overthinking with a reader who isnt very verbal at the moment/isnt At All. hed probably ask them a question over and over and Over Again thinking that might help somehow? i feel like he goes through verbal shutdowns maybe? but doesnt really acknowledge them/know what they are, or is never around people when it happens so hes never really had anyone try to help him/communicate him when it happens meaning he has no experience to like draw from when it happens to you and hes on the other side of it?
jess feels a bit like a 'takes no shit' person to me (not in an extreme way but i kinda just get those vibes?) but is also very understanding. if reader is for some reason neglecting basic hygiene or taking care of themself shes at a bit of a crossroads and would need to kind of see how they feel a bit more, because she knows 'tough love' sometimes works with certain people, but a lot of the time its harder/more complicated than that? I'm still trying to get a good understanding of jess's character at the moment so id love to hear more of what you think abt her
As for Malala i feel like she has experienced neglecting taking care of herself a bit before, from being extra busy or stressed etc, but not really in the way an autistic reader might. shed probably go through a whole variety of things to try to help, and also just feeling a bit guilty knowing how hard it would be for them once they get out of this low point and have to face everything they missed/neglected? thatd really feel discouraging for her i feel. i feel like shes also the kind of person who yes, understand that she cant fix everything for you and sometimes a professional/adult needs to get involved, but she also really wants to try her best to help, and might get a bit overwhelmed in the process
(I leaned into this more being a conversation rather than an official part 2, but im totally open to writing a part 2 if thats something people might want!! Also as for the convenience for where to talk abt this, im happy to just chat here, i dont mind!!) (though if you want anon it Would be a bit helpful if you chose like an emoji/identifier so ik its you if you send any future asks 😅)

So here I’m just gonna respond to/add to what you said in the last post because I also have some thoughts.
Now with Hobie and routine, I have a feeling it wouldn’t be that much of a problem, if he learns what the readers routine is and finds a way to work around it, it’ll obviously give him time to do his own unpredictable shenanigans. But this obviously depends on how strict the schedule is. I’m personally really lenient, I don’t really have a schedule, routine and consistency mainly related to what I eat for breakfast, “my seats” places I sit in that are kinda mine (I’ll cry if someone takes it) and more minor repetitive behaviors. But I know people who have their day planned to the dot and this.. will probably be a lot more difficult. I don’t think I can adequately find a solution to that because I also have adhd and I’m time blind and I personally would have no idea how I’d be able to work around that. And about the troupes and fanfics that you mentioned. Ugh I agree 100% and it’s bothersome because alot of the stuff the reader and partner do I feel like I’ll never really do/enjoy. But I also understand that these fics are written for allistics, it’s rare to find a fic that’s neutral, in the sense that a reader has traits of neurodivergency but is also balanced with being neurotypical. Generally having someone enter my house by my window is a no go. Added with injuries and I’d go insane. Blood and injuries don’t exactly bother me but I’d probably cry from the stress of someone close to me being injured. I think the other problem I have with these fics is that.. most of the way they depict characters (especially hobie) make it feel like they couldn’t possibly date an autistic reader because all of the headcanon and “cute” things the characters does is something someone with autism might struggle with. I hate to say that a character could never dare someone with autism because I know it’s not true, it’s just reading these fics sometimes give me that idea. Characters like hobie are fictional though and are meant to be interpreted. And most of the interpretations I see feel like they exclude people with autism. But I’m actually sure that Hobie in the canon would be able to have a healthy relationship with an autistic person, romantic or not, it’s just the relationship will naturally appear different. I can elaborate about Hobie and reader in a relationship (romantic or platonic) but I can do so if explicitly asked.
I think the thing with Pravitr overwhelming the reader is possible but I also like to consider that it’s because he might be socially unaware himself. So I feel like he’d make a lot of mistakes but I also know he’d correct himself. I also have a feeling if Gwen or hobie was there while Pravitr was overwhelming them they’d just let him know or try to avert his energy onto something else (and give reader some space). The same applies with affection but I had an amazing idea I’m so proud of myself. So pravitr does have chai with his aunty sometimes, and I personally sometimes am able to get over sensory overload by either getting squished (I don’t know how to explain this), being in hot water (basically a bath but I’m just sitting there staring at the ceiling) or drinking soup/warm tea. Imagine whenever the reader is overwhelmed he quickly goes to prepare tea, giving reader some space to decompress, and he returns with some chai, and obviously if the reader can’t handle masala chai, he’ll just prepare them something less overwhelming like just black tea with a little sugar.
Like I said the first time I think the non speaking reader can go both ways for those two, either Gwen or Miguel can just enjoy the reader’s preference without needing to talk too much. Or it’s just awkward and they’re staring at eachother. It’ll be especially funny if the reader just an hour ago was all yappy and talkative but suddenly they’re now quiet and non-expressive. Did they do something wrong? What happened to reader?
Now with that said when I have a hard time with words I’ll repeat what I hear to try and process it. Imagine this with Gwen or Miguel, they might feel like they’re being mocked and the thought is super amusing to me.
So I agree Jess is probably a tough love type of gal but, maybe this is just my opinion but she seems to struggle less getting new recruits compared to Miguel, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already met/recruited autistic (or just disabled in general) spider-people. So I feel like she might already have some experience and might find some way to help. But I also don’t think she’d be too involved, I think she might set some reminders for the reader but it’s kinda up to them if they follow those reminders or not. Perhaps at best she gets lyla to remind the reader.
I love Malala because I’m raised Muslim and I’m happy to see a hijabi character but I also know so little about her, I have an idea who she is but there’s too little to go off of. But I do think compared to Jess she might be a little more involved with helping the reader, maybe directly giving them some food or just strongly encouraging them to shower or brush their teeth or whatever.
Now obviously once spider verse is released on blue ray I might just watch it at home over and over and I’ll probably be able to interpret the characters much better. I could read the comics and I might but I also have a feeling that there’s still going to be some major differences compared to the comics vs the movie. So until I can like.. rewatch this movie 10 times and take notes about characters I like I’m going off of memory and I’ll try my best to interpret the characters but obviously I can’t make promises.

Okay I've taken quite a while (about two months, so sorry!!) to finally get around to answering this and I'm so sorry it's taken so long!! I have no idea if you're still keeping up with my blog but if you are, I hope we can continues talking about this stuff!!
So yeah, I've been thinking more about Hobie & an autistic reader navigating schedules or the lack of, and it really does come down to how much reader's schedule needs to be set in stone or if it's just certain things.
Personally it can sometimes differ for me but I definitely relate to things like sitting in the same chair every day and things like that, which would imo be no problem for Hobie.
As for people who have super meticulously planned days, I also can't think of a solution to this but I do think there'd be a way to work around this, because just bc reader may have to have everything planned out, that doesn't suddenly mean the same for Hobie and he'd still be able to do what he wants while maybe just having one or two things set in stone like when him and reader might spend time together.
Another thought is on the other hand, I'm someone who can struggle with making plans and keeping them. Therefore, quite a bit of the time if I want to do something I need to do it straight away or it may never get done, and i think this is something that would work well w/ Hobie. I feel like if reader really wanted to do something but was like on the fence about maybe putting it off or something (which'd mean it of course then never gets done) he'd be happy to just show up and go wherever.
As for the whole a majority of fics being written for allistics, I totally agree! I'm not saying allistic writers need to be writing incredible autistic rep at all because I totally understand not wanting to/being able to confidently write a reader that is someone with some sort of identity they might not feel like they can portray properly, but it does get a bit lonely(?) sometimes reading a fic and kinda just going "I'd never do/be able to do that" because they're written as/by an allistic person. Don't even get me started on the 'First time you/they say i love you' trope/fics because I can never relate to those nkjsdfkfdsk /lh
And yeah I get the feeling of like, thinking "would this character even like me??" just because they're always written with an allistic reader in mind. But I absolutely agree Hobie would be able to have a healthy relationship with an autistic person whether it be romantic, platonic, etc!!
I also hope that fellow autistic people feel represented when they read my writing! Sometimes I catch myself basically mirroring writing with allistic readers I've seen because it's mostly all I've been able to read because it's the majority of fics out there, so I so hope my work to break down that habit hasn't gone unnoticed and autistic readers can finally see themselves in the fics they read!!!
I'd also absolutely love to hear more about your thoughts about Hobie and an autistic reader in a romantic or platonic relationships any time!!
I absolutely love the idea of Pavitr preparing tea for reader is they're overwhelmed!!! It's something he'd probably pick up on rather early on because it's something he does if he's stressed/feeling down so he figured it might help reader, and it did!! I don't have much other thoughts to add onto this + the stuff about him possibly overwhelming reader other then I agree!!
Omg yesss, the image in my head is so funny to me like Gwen/Miguel just standing in front of reader and neither of them are saying anything and just. Staring. Either of them I feel like would eventually ask if reader's okay etc, and eventually learn that it's okay if reader's not just especially talkative at the moment or something. Imagining their reactions to reader repeating things to process them, I feel like for Gwen there's a good chance she also then repeats what you'd repeated her saying out of confusion/without realising, and you just getting stuck in a loop of saying the same thing back and forth. Miguel I feel would definitely feel like he's being mocked, and would need someone explain to him that no, he's not being made fun of, you're actually trying to genuinely process/pay attention to what he's saying and this is how you do it sometimes.
I've been thinking about your idea about Jess ever since I got this ask and I 100% agree!! She'd have some sort of basic knowledge about lots of different stuff like that I feel, but she as you said doesn't get too involved. She'd be understanding but not overbearing, you're your own person and she's not going be hovering over you 24/7 but if you tell her you need maybe a day's notice for missions or something, she can work with that.
Yeah we know so little about Malala, in the past I've done a lot of like coming up with full personalities for characters with little-to-nothing in canon so I'm kinda used to this but It's not super easy of course, and I'm still trying to get my footing stable with characterising her. I do agree that I think she'd be more involved than Jess though. things like if she's about to go do something like get something to eat then she'd also remind reader at the same time, or like ending a call with "I'm going to go have a shower then go to bed, you should do that too if you haven't already!!" (And not as her like pressuring reader or anything, just as a friendly reminder)
Yeah I know there's comics the characters are based/heavily based on, but I'm hesitant to get into those for a couple reasons, so I can't wait until I can rewatch the movie and properly refresh my mind and get a better handle on everyone's characterisations!!

“HA HA HA” malala windsor x autistic!reader ➤ summary: “PLEASE PLEASE pELASE MORE AUTISTIC READER, I JUST CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT ANYMORE IDK IF IT IS 90 WORDS IM GONNA GOBBLE THAT SHI UP AND ASK FOR MORE *=*%×>;%×*;=,×*×*2,$+” request by @crystalheartzzz ➤ notes: can be read as romantic platonic etc. malala doesn’t know reader’s autistic but there’s no like Tension around it. i also got the idea for the plot before i decided on a character + i’m still getting a hang of malala’s character, so i’m sorry if her characterisation is a bit off ➤ warnings: none!
The plan is simple; You both have tickets to the gala, making entry easy — you’d even spent all of the afternoon yesterday deciding on the best outfit (And constantly messaging Malala in the hopes of your outfits being able to match, which wasn’t crucial to there mission but rather just a fun addition for what would technically be your first ever ‘fancy’ event you’d be attending together).
Then comes the part where everything depends on you. You have to lure a certain couple away from a door near the back of the ballroom, and successfully keep their attention on you long enough for Malala to slip right behind them and through the previously guarded door, ideally without anyone noticing or being alerted.
“I do trust you, but I do just want to double-check that you’re certain you’ll be able to distract them for what could be up to twenty minutes.”
You smiledreassuringly, adjusting your outfit a bit as the two of you speak with hushed voices in a dim park, just a street away from the gala venue.
“Really, I promise. I’ve got this!”
Malala does want to trust you, but she’s also been witness to you breaking down when faced with having to ask a teacher a question, so she can’t help but feel at least a little nervous at the prospect of this whole mission resting on the shoulders of you and your ability to hold a conversation with two complete strangers — all while under rather immense pressure.
“…Are you sure, because it might not too late to change the plan a little—”
“Seriously, I’m really good at pretending i’m invested in conversations! Look!”
You step back a little and start laughing. For a moment Malala thinks she must have missed some sort of joke, with the way you’ve suddenly started guffawing at seemingly nothing.
And then you’re stepping back to where you’d been standing a moment okay, suppressing a small smile at the comical look of confusion on Malala’s face.
“See, best fake laugher ever,” You gesture to yourself with two thumbs-ups pointed to your chest.
“Wait a second, now I want to know how you’re so good at that??”
You let out a small amused exhale at that, knowing that she has no idea the can of worms the real answer could open right now. And you’re pretty sure this isn’t quite the right time and place to explain the nuances of autistic masking to Malala right now.
“Super long answer or we-need-to-get-to-that-gala-so-i’ll-give-you-a-fake-but-satisfactory-answer-for-now answer?”
“Good point,” Malala smiles, checking her watch before motioning for you to follow her towards the venue.
“Thought so,” You smile, before giving her your fake answer for the time being, “I’ve got lots of boring relatives, it gets even more awkward if I don’t laugh at their jokes.”
Malala looks half quizzical and half intrigued at your answer, laughing slightly as she says, “Well I thought something like that was going to be your super long real answer, now I’m really curious.”
“Well,” You bounce on your tip-toes, the adrenaline kicking in as the bright lights beaming out of the gala venue come into view, “You’ve only got to wait about… twenty minutes at most for that.”
Malala laughs with you this time, “Thirty if one of us gets lost.”
