reposting this because im still super duper uber proud of it. the only reason why i deleted it in the first place was because i was having a really bad mentally ill moment and i deleted all of my art on here 😭anyways, i originally made this for a fic i was working on last year. its been a while since ive updated it, but i still want to continue/finish it!! i just… yknow… these things happen.

in any case, the fic is my take on post-canon mikan recovering! admittedly, a lot of it is self indulgent and projecting, but i think i do my very best at keeping everyone/everything in character. i dont mess around when it comes to possibly butchering something this important to me!

i have yet to find that fic for gallavich. like i have one for my other fav ship but like i havent found a gallavich fic that left me starstruck like everyone talks abt. i do have a favorite one that i love but it hasnt like affected me to a level people talk abt when talking abt their favs. i think i might of found the one but i still need to finish it lmao

my favourite irony of the current shipping discussion is the folks who allege WolfWren enjoyers sent “threats” to people who enjoy cishet ships (I have asked for ANY examples or usernames of anyone doing this multiple times), have also been calling for Filoni to suffer & die if he doesn’t make their ship canon. but don’t forget, it’s definitely the sapphics and queers who like WolfWren that are the problem

Regarding your opinion on shipping: I agree that when talking to the majority of people it does get boring really fast due to the repeated topics, but in some fandoms the people really go crazy (in a good way). For example, especially with older shows that have more seasons/episodes and have had longer to be analyzed (fandoms I'm in like this are Star Trek, MASH, and Quantum leap) I've found really long (like +5k words long) in depth analyses on relationships and their developments over the seasons, a lot about expressions/actions/intentions, comparing quotes from the shows to quotes from old romantic tragedies etc. So what I mean is I guess it really depends on the amount of content your ship has to go on, along with whether the fandom is willing to talk about actual nuances of the relationship rather than just the sex (and also whether you have that one person willing to reconsume the original material a hundred times to pick up on the smallest details and share them with everyone). But anyway, sorry for the rant but I just wanted to share my view on this topic; I wasn't in the death note fandom before around 2018 but I do wonder if maybe in the earlier years there were more complex discussions and analyses on character relationships, and now as time has passed, all that's been talked about and people just don't care anymore.

That's a fair point, I haven't really been deeply involved in what the shipping discussion is like in other fandoms. But yeah... maybe there's just not a ton of canon interaction to go on compared to in other series? And to be fair people do talk about a lot of other stuff with DN ships too, but I guess I personally am just never as interested in discussing position/kink stuff as a lot of other people in fandoms seem to be maybe haha
