How far they go to preserve it#Yi-city asks a lot of hard questions. As someone who values Honesty above nearly all else-#-the question posed here about whether honesty is truly the correct course of action really gets to me#Lying is a form of kindness in here. And in a story about rumours and manipulations of truth-#its a good parallel to what we see in the main story!#we see the harm caused by trying to lie to be kind. The harm in realizing youve been lied to#there are a lot of plot points around kind lies in mdzs and it facinates me!

Maybe I'm looking too much into it but the way Machete is so tightly curled, as if trying to protect himself from the world compared to relaxed, stretched out Vasco

#thank you for noticing!#I try to consider real dog body language whenever I'm drawing them in their quadrupedal feral forms#when a dog sleeps tightly curled it can mean they're cold or don't feel 100% safe in their environment#and are protecting the more vulnerable parts of their body#in that recent piece Vasco is more stretched out but he's still not fully relaxed#he's lying with his paws under him so that he can jump up at a moment's notice if he has to#if he was asleep he probably would've rolled on his side and splayed out his legs a bit more#or done a proper sploot even#you can see this in their anthro forms as well#Machete's body language is typically closed defensive and tense#whereas Vasco tends to look more comfortable in his skin and takes up space freely#answered#anonymous#I've yet to draw Machete doing the classic sighthound roaching pose where they sleep on their back with legs pointing up#probably not a common occurrence but it has to happen at least once in a while

T_T he's the least holy angel you'll ever meet (he's committing sacrilege daily and archangel Rollo is going to kick him out of heaven for one more infraction), but at least he's sort of good at his job (i.e. he's good at lazing around and putting good vibes out into the world)???
He's assigned to you as your guardian angel and all is well until Jade worms his way into your life, ready to lead you astray with all sorts of mischievous temptation. He's the soggiest incubus you've ever met because he thought it'd be cute to look pathetic and hungry, but you refuse to let him feed from you and now he just looks silly when he's all splayed out on your bed like a nude model in his skimpy outfit. :( mission failed successfully? Floyd's kicking him out because you're his human shrimpy. It's his job to look after and protect you. FEM NIGHTMARE DESIGN
i wanted to post both my pre corruption and post design version at once so here you go!
they might be subject to change in the future, but i don't think i wanna go overboard with detail for nightmare's passive form; cause not only would her fancy princess clothing be stolen or ripped and torn ages ago with all the bullying and blood staining it, but also the twins have to change their clothes every once in a while to clean them or at least when they get too small to fit, so the outfits have to be replaceable/easy to mend and sew back hhh xD
also no crowns for this version of mine, but a crescent moon hair clip turned necklace for night, and a sun clip turned belt for dream! her design coming soon (hopefully :'D)

How do you find pose references for all those gorgeous and cute and aaaaaaa drawings. H o w. Where. (<-from someone struggling to draw characters interacting)
(if you don't use references, take it as a compliment to your godly anatomy and posing skills)
I don't really use references for poses that much. I'm not sure how to explain this without sounding weird but when I'm about to draw something, I visualize it in my mind, and when it's character art I sort of see them as 3D models that can be posed and rotated. And I just sort of try to replicate that on paper, sometimes it's easy and sometimes it doesn't work out at all (a good reminder that when you browse someone's art, you usually only see the pieces that the artist is at least passably proud of, not the piles of failed projects that went nowhere).
#when I use references it's usually for very specific poses and gestures that I'm not familiar with#if I were to draw someone shooting a crossbow or tap dancing or weaving on a loom#I'd have to look up references because you can only do those actions in a particular way or it doesn't look right#and I have no clear visual memory of what that action looks like#but if it's a common general casual everyday pose like a guy sitting or lying down in a way or another#you can draw that in so many different ways you can just position them however you want and it will look believable#and a lot of my poses are general everyday poses#I dunno that's how it works for me#definitely use references if you're unsure or drawing something you've never drawn before#but once you get sorta comfortable I personally feel like it's a lot more fun and interesting to draw from memory and imagination#this got rambly and I'm sorry I couldn't direct you to a pose reference databank of some kind I know they exist but I've never used them#answered#anonymous
