it is odd to me that people are so worried about not interacting on SM being a sign of distance when it feels like the opposite—it feels very conspicuous and telling that they have almost zero interactions except for incredibly intentional things such as JM’s birthday post and JK’s thirst trap lol. what it’s telling OF I cannot say of course 😂it’s just interesting the way people read it when to me it feels so different. I wonder if you agree with that?

You and me both.

I've been saying this since their break end of 2021 - the lack of interaction, them being the only two that don't interact AT ALL on sm, not even a like or a comment, that's far more conspicuous.

And when you see their interactions on and off camera when we do get to see them (Seoul concerts, LV, Run episodes, Hobi's party, TMA's, Busan), they are ok. No. They are way more than ok. They are close and intimate and happy.

We also have JM going to JK's to celebrate his birthday with him. Supposedly the one person he's no longer close to, being the only one he actually decides to make the effort and go spend his birthday with him? Not to mention JK's Weverse post for JM. Now that was something extra special indeed.

So, what do we have?

As far as JM and JK I'd say all is just as it was before.

The band isn't working much as ot7 anymore so not much content together, and when we do get it, we do still get a glimpse of their interactions, even if at times it's on the fringes, like we got in the White house BTB or the YTC recordings.

And when they are off work they are on stealth mode. And are we actually surprised they are? With the shit that they had to and still have to take day in day out from parts of this fandom? Are we surprised of that after JK went silent, deleting his IG account? Going professional mode only? He let us in and we let him down.

And now, that fandom, instead of shutting their damn mouths are out for blood even more.

The same couple they didn't know how to deal with their antics, their closeness, their suspicious intimacy. The same couple they needed to claim were scripted because they had no other way to explain their behaviour, although it was damn stupid, cause it damn well didn't explain how fanservice applied if they were off camera and still at it. The same people that claimed all that now 'accept' they were a couple? The same people that said it was all fanservice now 'agree' that they were close? And now that we barely get to see them interact they are weaving the new story, that they aren't close anymore, that they have drifted apart, and the evidence is that they aren't seen in public together and that they aren't interacting on their Public sm accounts, same accounts that JM didn't even remember how to use or that JK just deleted anything that resembled something personal on it.

And low and behold, when we do get some fun more or less current Jikook content we're back to fanservice and scripts narrative.

These people are ridiculous.

They definitely don't know any of the members involved in their sick made up love triangle (which would be JK, JM and Tae), they definitely don't care about them either, not really.

A Sign Of Affection Episode 12 Review + Final Thoughts - Their Expanding World

This is one of the best romance anime I’ve watched! It’s sweet, cute and satisfying to watch. I would totally buy the manga just to see what happens next. Did the ending satisfy me? Mostly, but there are some gripes, but very minor.

The finale is mainly Yuki and Itsuomi going on a date and I think it’s the prettiest thing ever. They go to a botanical garden and admire the flowers there. All the flowers looked so pretty! The animation studio went all out with making them look so gorgeous! I legit spent ten minutes taking snapshots of the flowers because, like Yuki, I really like taking pictures of flowers! I felt like my eyes were cleansed.

I really liked Yuki finally learning why Itsuomi likes to travel. When Itsuomi was a boy, he moved to Germany and couldn’t adjust. When he saw a German boy with a soccer ball, the first thing he said was that he wanted to play soccer with him, to which the boy asked for him to come over to play, which started their friendship. This caused Itsuomi to love languages. He loves how people communicate with words. This is why he travels to different places so that he can teach kids about his culture and communicate with them. I think language is a beautiful thing too! Being able to communicate with someone in different language is an amazing feeling. I speak Korean to my parents and a few family friends while I speak English to my brother and anyone outside of my family. I think it’s amazing how language flows into your mind and allows you to process it and then you make it come out in whatever language option you scroll to in your brain. I think the most successful thing about communication and language is getting a response. It means someone understands you. It means you did a great job working so hard to learning the language. I get that feeling! I also understand why Itsuomi likes Yuki so much because she cannot hear words, so she ‘speaks’ by using her hands but still manages to convey herself. I think sign language is amazing and I see why Itsuomi is so fascinated by it.

I do like that the ending shows good resolutions for mostly everyone. Kyouya and Rin are officially dating with the former giving the latter a cute red ring as a present. Emma finally gives Shin a chance and the two start dating to test the waters. Oushi is still pining for Yuki, so there’s really no ‘good resolution’ for him romance-wise. Izumi does seem like she still has a thing for Oushi, but whether they will get together is unknown. Yuki finally gets her passport and she also is reunited with Madoka after a while at her workplace. Madoka’s just as energetic as her aunt and it’s cute. Overall, the finale ends happily. Nothing too tragic or confusing happens. Everyone is happy.

Final Thoughts

Like I said, A Sign of Affection is one of the best romance animes I’ve seen in a while. I do like that animes are giving cute romances a chance and it’s really working well. I really enjoyed My Love Story with Yamada at Lv. 999 and My Happy Marriage, and I’m glad that this anime helped me keep the momentum of me enjoying romance animes going.

What I like most is that the anime does revolve around young adults either college-aged or working adults (in Kyouya’s case), so all of the issues and conflicts are handled and resolved maturely. There’s no frustrating misunderstand that could be resolved by talking it out or aggravating love triangles. It’s a pure, simple and sweet love story about people in love.

The characters are great! While there’s nothing absolutely fantastic about them, I do love how they all have layered personalities that help them avoid the usual shoujo romance cliches. Yuki is reserved, shy and deaf. However, her reservedness and shyness does not interfere with her wanting what she wants and liking what she likes. She has so much personality and even gives sass to Oushi when he’s being too much. People usually think that being shy or reserved makes one a bland character, but Yuki’s nothing like that at all. She’s reserved, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t think she’s not worthy of Itsuomi. Instead, she sprints towards acknowledging her feelings as love and keeps racing on. Also, she is deaf but she doesn’t make that her entire character. She’s not seen as pitiful for being unable to hear and will stand her ground when things get tough for her due to her disability. Everyone who meets her likes her as a person, showing that she has good character above all else and that is what makes people like you.

tsuomi is tall, handsome, and easygoing. He likes to travel and can speak three languages. I think that his main “flaw” is that he can get a bit too intrusive on personal space, but that’s just how he is. I do like that even though he learns that Yuki is deaf, he never once pities her or sees her as lesser. He treats her like he would any other person and even wants to learn sign language out of curiosity. Because he likes to communicate, he’s always trying to communicate with Yuki and everyone else whenever he can. Like, when he and Yuki started dating, he kept her updated with texts and photos and not ghost her. He even wanted to get to know Oushi better; the whole segment with him and Oushi in episode 10 was cute. I think the only other instance of him showing “negative” emotions was when he was frustrating with Emma’s clinginess towards him.

The supporting cast was great too. Rin was a good friend to Yuki and always saw her as an equal despite being her underclassmen. Kyouya was cool as being the only non-college aged adult of the group. He’s kind towards Rin and never gives her false hope about her being a potential romantic partner. He’s nice towards Itsuomi like he’s his little brother and even treats his friends civilly too. Shin and Emma were interesting to learn about as they were Itsuomi’s friends since high school. Oushi was annoying, but he does seem like he mellowed a bit towards the last three episodes. My only gripe is that not much is known about Izumi. Even other minor characters like Tsujimura or Madoka have some substance; with Tsujimura, he had interest in Rin and was trying to pursue her and with Madoka, she was Yuki’s friend who is also deaf. All I know about Izumi is that she has a dog and likes to read. Who is she to Oushi? Who is she to Yuki? I’d like to know more about her.

At first glance, the animation could be a bit jarring due to Itsuomi’s lip size, but as you keep watching, that little issue bugs you less and less. The animation is really pretty in my eyes. I love how the snow falls and the way nature is colored. I really liked the camping trip episode. I think what surprised me the most was that Costco was animated, as shown in episode 4. Whoever animated the Costco needs to get a raise because they drew the interior near identical to its signature look. Why I say it’s near identical is because I don’t know what Costco actually looks like in Japan, but it does look similar to American Costcos interior-wise. I was legit surprised they even drew the Costco pizza box accurately. I’m sorry that I ramble about Costco too much because it’s legit the first time I’ve seen it in anime.

The music is great! The soundtrack fits the vibe of the anime and the opening and ending songs suit it too! I really like the opening song the most; there’s something so soothing about the singer’s voice.

The voice acting is great! Sumire Morohoshi as Yuki was a surprise since I’ve never heard her in shoujo anime and she should be in more shoujo anime because her voice suits the genre so well. She did a great job with Yuki from voicing her thoughts to sassing Oushi with the “hmmph” and such. Yu Miyazaki is a rather new name I’ve heard as he mainly had minor roles and is also Atsumi Tanezaki’s husband, but his voice suits Itsuomi so well. It’s also nice to listen too! He speaks English well too! It’s good enough that I can understand what he is saying and be amazed by it. I hope that he gets more roles because it’d be a waste to not get more roles with that kind of voice and language talent. The side characters are voiced by rather prolific voice actors and actresses. I think this is the first time I heard Nao Toyama and Kaede Hondo voicing young adults and they did a great job not making them sound too childish. Ryota Osaka as Kyouya was great as he always has a soothing voice. I think the voice actor who surprised me the most was Tasuku Hatanaka as Shin because I never heard him use such a gentler tone on a character. I mainly heard his gravely voice and usually associate him with it that him using a softer voice never crossed my mind. It’s safe to say that I really want to hear Hatanaka voice a shoujo male lead someday. He has the chops for it.

I rarely update my favorite shoujo animes of all time, but A Sign of Affection has made it on that list. It’ll be one I’d be thinking about for a long time. Yes, I’ll buy the manga too. Yes, I’ll recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a cute romance show. Yes, you should definitely watch it. What are your thoughts on the show as a whole?

(Notwithstanding, he felt that there was a silent battle between his friend and XGaster. Additionally, he felt pieces of his life were missing). • In his confidential missions, he went to various timelines to gather intel. This period was before and during TIMELINE X. He stumbled across a multiverse with Rosalie inside. A year later, they began to date. (Albeit, he didn’t know that XGaster was erasing parts of his recollections after he gathered knowledge. • Once the alternate universe was a blank slate and Chara possessed him, Cross overlooked who he was, letting the child feed delusions of telling him what he liked to hear. Moreover, this notion is where he meets Ink and becomes friends. • The X-EVENT plays out, acknowledging that Cross wants to save his home. Regardless, conserving it would be frivolous. (This is like the canon version until he gets to the Omega Timeline). Once he realized he could not save his home. He began apprehending himself better. • The fight with Nightmare and Killer. It was to cut all ties off with his former self that Chara believed him to be. After he won, he began to go back to Rosalie. (This memory is where they had held hands under the tree together, remembering everything before this conflict. It was before the battle as well)! • In a considerable time, the battle with XGaster ensued, despising the treatment he endured previously. His family and comrades were under his control, too. The skeleton wanted to rescue them but couldn’t. Cross had to save himself to free them. (To note, he cannot at this duration of time. In addition, they are not as influential as the skeleton was). He primarily utilized all of his magic. (Rosalie did help him in this action, understanding that it was mainly their love that conquered all. This trial prompted XGaster to loathe the human female). • Three years pass when Cross protects Rosalie because of threats from XGaster. Notwithstanding, he was also healing, training, and channeling his magic better to protect the Omega Timeline. • Trials of the Multiverse: This notion is where Nightmare has the final control over him because Cross has deep-seated negative emotions about his former home. He has not uttered anything about this to anyone, especially Rosalie. Nonetheless, his lover snaps him out of that headspace and tells him there can be ways to release them. Therefore, they defeat this dispute.

In due course, he lives happily and healthily with Rosalie in the Omega Timeline! (They try to discover a way to free his brother and friends)!

I doodled and made designs for the categories of Y/N's different personalities/the anons in LV Triangle

Honestly? Not 100% happy with the designs so I'll either change them myself or let other people tweak them until we're all happy

For context:

The voices of the Sympathetic: House all the askers/anons who are sympathetic towards at least one of the two(Dust, Crimson), more of the softer ones who let their emotions show more

The voices of the Guarded: House all the askers/anons who are very guarded around the two, tougher, rougher, a lot of talk with some violence, keeps their emotional side out of it

The voice of the Indifferent Chaos: Only me for the moment as Indifferent Chaos is more of a subcategory kinda, unless other people fit in. It's honestly just me but I'll fill out the basics anyway. Houses all the askers/anons who live for the chaos of the situation, like creating more of it, but can switch to becoming indifferent and analytical once the other voices are causing Y/N issues by being overly chaotic on accident or for other reasons.

But yeah, there they are, I'm the most happy with Guarded's design

Chapter 17- Part 8

So, first thing’s first- Paralysis!

And from here, well- it’s a low-level Taillow, I don’t even think I need to lower its health? Just a Poké Ball should be fine?

And that’s that, welcome to Ace the Taillow! And now for the other half of these Rhodochrine encounters…

Stantler! Let’s see how this one goes.

Still gonna paralyze it, that’s just objectively good capturing strategy.

And from here, I think Acid will be sufficient enough to lower its HP at a safe rate.

And now, just to be safe, let’s use that Great Ball we just picked up, yeah?

If you didn’t know, I named her after the love interest deer girl from Bambi. Seemed appropriate enough.

So those are about all the encounters we can get right now, so let’s address that Egg.

Taking a closer look at the Egg like this…mainly yellow with significant brown portions…immediately, my mind goes to Drowzee. But I guess it’s possible for it to be Girafarig, though I feel like Girafarig would have some pink on it too due to its triangle scales. So um- Drowzee is my main guess, with Girafarig as a secondary guess?

But we won’t know until it hatches, so let’s just do some rearranging of the party-

There! With Magma Armor, this Egg should hatch in no time!

The second guess it is! Look at this…not-so little guy!

Pardon me, the little guy is a little girl, in fact-

Anyways, if you’re curious about the name, it’s a reference to Girafarig’s inspiration (both generally and in terms of etymology)- the kirin, which is not only a mythological creature, but also the Japanese word for ‘giraffe’!

So yeah, a Psychic-type that also has immunities and extra resistances thanks to its specific dual-typing! I like it!

Anyways, with that, it’s time to do some team-building. And with the information I have about the Fields of interest as well as the general characteristics of Poison-types…I think I know who I’m bringing to this fight.

Riptide and Glare are pretty self-explanatory- Riptide because I refuse to take the starter out of the party, and Glare for probably Poison immunity. Crater and Kirin are for the type advantages (and in Kirin’s case, a certain move she hatched with that could be useful for…reasons), Breeze for whenever I want to blow the Corrosive Mist away, and Blaze to take advantage of the Corrosive Mist to power up her Fire-type moves in case Crater or Kirin aren’t cutting it.

Obviously, some level-grinding is in order, but that’s what the Grand Hall battle corner is for, yeah?

(Then I had to go to sleep…although, the pull for the battle corner that day sucked, so I didn’t mind waiting another day to see if better Trainers would show up.)

Wow, my luck with Grand Hall sure has been sucky, huh? Yesterday there was just one (1) Trainer with Pokémon in the early 20s and who only gave less than 60 Pokémon Dollars, and today? One (1) Trainer with Pokémon in the early 20s who only gave ~100 Pokémon Dollars. Would it kill this game to at least give me more than one Trainer to battle against??

I know what you might be thinking- “Oh X, just use the extra Exp. Candies (S) that you have to level your Pokémon!” And I could do that, yes- but I’m not just grinding for exp. points, I’m grinding for money too! Because I want to be able to afford items! What the heck is this, then??

Well, despite how unpleasant it was- seriously, why do I keep running into this guy with a Mawile?- I was able to get the team to a good level.

Lv. 29 seemed like a good stopping point, I doubt Corey will have any Pokémon above Lv. 30 at least. Plus, still no idea when we’re gonna get to the actual third Gym, which has a level cap of Lv. 35, so the lower I can keep my party’s levels while still being able to do this specific boss fight, the better. Besides- if Riptide levels up one more time during the battle, it’d make for a very cinematic evolution moment.

You might have also noticed how everyone now has an item. Breeze and Blaze have Elemental Seeds because they’re most likely to come out on Corrosive Mist, so that’ll give them a power-up (in spite of poisoning them too). Riptide and Kirin have Pecha Berries (I only had two to begin with) to deal with any poisoning of their own, and Crater has an Oran Berry for HP reasons- I would have liked to give her a Sitrus Berry instead, but I didn’t have one. Oh, and Glare’s item didn’t change, still Protective Pads.

Now, I think we’ve prepared rather thoroughly- in the end, it all comes down to what actually happens during the battle. So no more delays, let’s do it.

Would you happen to have recommended levels for some dungeons because I’ve been stuck on the ice dugeon at around lv 10-12 so I was wondering if it was an equipment issue or leveling issue?

(Also I did not grind yet because I hate when I get overleveled in jrpgs. Feels to easy.)

Probably both, I think. On my first playthrough, my parties were around level 18-20. Zaskia Glacier does feature some pretty weak enemies though, meaning worse drops.

Depending on what Junk items you found, the nearby Rantslate academy sells most materials for you to use to craft (rantslate is a university but meh, details). Worst case scenario, you can buy a Short Bow + Arrow and a Slingshot + Slingstone, alongside upgrading materials and defensive equipment.

I specify Bows and slingshots specifically because of how they work. Attack value accounts for both the weapon itself and the bullet for it, so it's much higher. Plus, it allows normal attacks from the back.

As for upgrading, I can't talk enough about how useful it is.

First, element embuing is pretty simple — just combine any equipment with the corresponding element powder. Though you may be tempted to use better quality powders, those can only be used on higher leveled weapons (You can check a weapon's level and details with triangle). Personally, I'd say just put low level elements solely to be able to damage enemies normally resistant to physical damage (aka those crystal/tablet thingies).

Most importantly, though, is stat upgrading.

For that, you will need a Grindstone/Hard Rock (For weapons and armor respectively), and the equipment's crafting material.

For example, say I want to upgrade the starting Academy Shoes equipment as right now it's completely useless.

Disassembling it shows its main material is 1 Flimsy Skin (read: The junk item doesn't factor in this).

Thus, if I want to upgrade it, I will need the shoes, 1 Flimsy Skin and 1 Hard Rock.

The result is +1 Defense on the Academy shoes. You can do this up to 9 times per equipment, and in this case only for 511 Gold each upgrade. 9 Defense/Attack per equipment might not seem like a lot, but trust me, it will make a difference in the long run.

Lastly, as for leveling, remember that you can use the academy clinics in order to donate. Money will be converted into exp for whoever donated, and it's generally faster than trying to gain exp by farming enemies.

Alternatively, the good ol' reliable: Go solo. Stay near the exits and, if you have AoE spells, use them.

Lets talk Regency fashion and Bridgerton's historical accuracy. Regency era and fashion is most romanticised due to the works of Jane Austen as well as period dramas like Bridgerton or my personal favourite war and peace starring Audrey Hepburn. All these were set in the Regency era which grew my interests in it.

Regency era started when King George the third, "the mad King"- was no longer able to govern effectively, his son George lV(then Prince of Wales) was appointed as the Prince Regent. It marked the beginning of "Regency" Time period before ending in 1820. As a person intending to study in fashion and a history nerd, this was naturally interesting to me.

In the Regency era, fashion according to most people was "all white Empire waisted dresses" while others go for "Bridgerton style" dresses. But they are just stereotypes, or half-baked facts. Empire waisted were the style, but white wasn't the only color worn or popularized and many elements patterns and decorations used in the Bridgerton outfits was not entirely what the real fashion of the time period was.

After watching many many reviews on the accuracy of Bridgerton style, the simple conclusion is that it is not accurate in all terms but worked because it's pretty to look at.

The dresses in this period were still Empire waisted, the necklines were either in round, the heart-shaped V, or square(1804) style. By 1817, wide neckline was very common for dresses.

In terms of color, all white fashions were popularized but the use colours such as yellow, rose, Blue, pale-purples were also present and of style. Yellow in particular was a popular colour used by many in various different shades.

One of my most favourite items in Regency clothing, was the neckcloth or Neckerchief in today's world it could be simply looked at as a scarf, but the reason why I like the neckerchief is because it is placed in a fashionable manner much like any other clothing item from the time period. It added onto the already beautiful looking dresses.

A Neckerchief is a large piece of square/triangle linen or silk folded into a band and wrapped around the neck. Women were not allowed to roam around without a neckerchief during the day, say for taking a stroll in the garden or getting tea and gossip, and it was only okay to be without them during evenings and balls. Neckerchief is one of the things historically inaccurate about Bridgerton as Daphne was seen twice or thrice outside in the garden with Simon without a cravat as well as Kate or Edwina.

Women in regency did not simply wear a corset underneath the dresses and went about their day as shown in Bridgerton at some moments. There was a lot more, the use of chemise, stays and petticoats along with stockings, was all that came before the actual dress. The all white outfits were most of the time supported by colourful petticoats underneath.

Most of the things about the fashion depended on what time of the day the wear it on. Day wear dresses were more covered with lower hemlines and full sleeve dresses as well as the use of shawls and cloaks was also present, evening wears were more free and with lower necklines. The skirts were more flared. In this time, the option of the Regency brassiere was also there as an undergarment option to chose over the corset.

One of the most interesting moments in my life was witnessing authentic regency fashion in a museum I visited in my country.
