ok but like. Im thinking about some zolu sort-of-angst. 

zoro pines and pines after luffy. other people tell zoro that luffy seems super attached to him too, maybe his feelings aren't as unrequited as he believes, but zoro knows it just doesn't click the same for luffy. he eventually very discreetly asks luffy about it, about the love he has for his friends and for people in general, and luffy tells him that he really never thinks about that stuff. luffy doesn't care about romance, never has and never will. 

so zoro doesnt tell luffy about his feelings. zoro just makes his peace with it and he keeps on loving luffy the same as he always has. it hurts a little to know they aren't on the same page, but luffy loves so deeply even if it isnt romantic. no matter what, romantic feelings or not, zoro and luffy are unquestionably loyal to each other. 

all zoro really cares about is having luffy in his life, and if sometimes he stares at his lips for a second too long then who cares. he just wants luffy to stay by his side, and he knows luffy wants that too

zoros feelings won’t ever be requited in the same way, but he gets luffys all consuming love through their friendship and that is enough. luffys happiness brings him happiness, so zoro stays content even while staring down what may break a weaker man’s heart

OP Crossover Drabbles [1/2]

1. Mugiwara Nami is about ready to strangle the next person who even mentions Sky Island, adventure, or dreams. It’s all Luffy’s fault that they’re being laughed out of every pub and tavern on the island. It’s even worse that Luffy and Zoro had allowed themselves to be humiliated by that creep Bellamy –didn’t they have any pride? “I hear you have been asking about the island in the sky?” “Yeah.” She’s furious and she wants to get off this island, now, and Luffy is just making things worse, talking with some guy who is just angling for a reason to laugh at them. “Luffy, let’s just go—” “There is an island in the sky, far above the skies,” the boy smiles a bit mysteriously. “Would you like to know how to get there?” “No, we don’t.” Nami is tired of people and their tired jokes of how to get to that floating island in the sky. Another crack about flying unicorn processions to the island and she won’t be responsible for murder. “Shishishishi, it’s not fun unless we find it on our own.” “I see,” the boy hands Nami a map, “I’ll just give you a little help then. There’s a man at the edge of the island who can maybe give you some clues.” Luffy tries to snatch the map the map from Nami, curious. “Thanks! I’m Luffy.” “Tim.” 2. Run Away With Me It’s certain that Bruce most certainly will be very ‘cross’ with him, as Alfred would say. There is no way Bruce will be pleased with him sneaking into the palace of a Tenryuubito to run away with the Tenryuubito’s son. Dick knows that this entire thing is putting Bruce, a foreign ambassador and the guest of Tenryuubito Janet Drake, in a very difficult position. He knows that this won’t be treated as a boy running away from home; this will be treated as kidnapping. He isn’t just risking his own life; he’s risking Bruce’s, Alfred’s, maybe even the lives of everyone back home. Who knows how great Janet’s wrath will be or how far it will reach.  Breaking into a Tenryuubito’s palace and running away with one is at least seven levels of ludicrous but Dick can’t leave tomorrow morning knowing that the other boy is still here. Tim is a caged bird longing for freedom and Dick wants to be the one to set him free. 3. Plague When Tim was six, he had traveled with his parents to a gorgeous, tiny island filled with bright, colorful flowers and curious animals. It wasn’t a planned stop but their ship had needed some repairs after a particularly vicious storm. The locals were all kind and energetic and Tim had wished he could play with the other kids on the beach. His parents had complained of the poor lodging (the mayor of the town had opened up his home to them and even given them the master bedroom) and were anxious to leave. But then a plague broke on the island. At night, Tim heard screaming and crying as he curled up in bed as he clutched his pillow over his head. Every day there was one less house as another family was burned in their houses to keep the plague from spreading –all on his parents’ orders. They never left the mayor’s house. His parents fretted –what if the plague got into the house? Surely they would be fine with their filtered air? How long until the Marines arrived? Tim watched as the laughing, smiling kids disappeared from the shores and were replaced by the dead and dying. He too waited for the Marines. Surely they could help the townspeople once they arrived? The Marines didn’t help the town. After Tim and his parents were bundled onto the Marine ship, after crying mothers carrying their ill children were shoved and thrown away from the ship, after the ship was far enough –a Buster Call was ordered and that tiny, beautiful island and its people were gone. 4. You Dated Miss Legs? Tim is laughing at one of Dick’s jokes while cleaning a nasty gash in the older boy’s side when he hears high heels clicking behind him. “I left as quickly as I could when I heard you were kidnapped but you look pretty okay to me, Tim.” “Steph? I thought you were just recruited into CP9! What are you doing here?” If the World Government is already sending CP9 to retrieve me there is no hope. I’ll be taken back to Mariejois and I’ll never be able to leave. There’s a soft click of a safety as Jason levels a gun at Steph from where he’s leaning heavily against the ship’s mast. “Is there any reason why you’re here, Missy?” “Well, I heard that my Timmy was kidnapped by this ambassador’s adopted son and I just had to save him. He’s my beau, after all.” Tim cringes, “We used to date, Steph.” “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you anymore.” She flops down next to Tim and throws an arm around his shoulders, pulling him close. “I was prepared to murder the son of a bitch who dared to lay a finger on you but…” She squeezes him tightly, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you laugh like that, even when we were dating.” “In other words, Mr. Kidnapper, I’m going to be joining you. As long as you keep Timmy happy, your sensitive bits are safe from my wrath.” 5. Proud Papa Cutlasses are swinging, bullets are flying, cannon balls are hurtling in every direction –there’s blood and the wounded littered around on the Flying Grayson’s deck. Steph is screaming at the poor pirate who had barged into the kitchen while she was preparing dinner and ruined the dessert. Damian is cackling as he stabs a terrified pirate through the leg and Babs is calmly dispatching every terrified straggler who wanders across her path. But Dick has better things to do than frighten the poor mooks who had thought that their ship would be a good target. He has better things to do because he has two of the most amazing kids in the world and it’s his mission in life to make sure that everyone knows it. Everyone. “This is Toan, isn’t she adorable? She’s got Tim’s eyes and my ears, I swear. She’s got talent –she’s already an expert at throwing knives. Would you like to see? We could just put an apple on your head and she’ll get it right down the middle of the apples. She’s amazing,” Dick takes out another picture and flashes it at the captain of the invading pirates as he ducks a cutlass aimed for his head, “And this is Damani. He’s still just a baby, but look at his little smile! It looks just like Tim's, I swear—” “They look nothing like you!!” Dick pouts and dances out of the next swing. “Are you implying that my babies aren’t as adorable and amazing as they are?” “They’re just brats–” There’s a bullet in the man’s throat and Dick turns to see Jason glaring angrily at the fallen man. “They may be adopted, but they’re our precious baby brats. Trash like you have no right to call them that.”   6. Captain Hostage “Tim, the Captain’s gone missing again.” Tim groans. Why does Dick always get himself captured or kidnapped? “Well, you’re First Mate, you go do something about it, Jay. I’ve got to put Damani and Toan down for a nap.” He coos at the gurgling baby boy in his arms. Jay curses a bit and holds out his hands for Damani. Damani giggles when Jay cradles him close, whistling his favorite lullaby. When Damani is finally asleep and Tim is finished tucking him in, they’re back on deck, waiting for Toan to choose what naptime story she wants Tim to read to her. “This is getting ridiculous; Dick gets kidnapped at least once every two weeks! It feels as if every other Tuesday some bastard gets the idea to nab our captain.” The Very Hungry Caterpillar is waved under Tim’s nose and he picks up his little girl and walks to the captain’s quarters. Soon, Damian will be done with the extensions and the children will have their own room. Jason trails after them, irate. “We’ve got to do something about Dick getting kidnapped every other week!” Damian pokes his head in from the adjacent room, work goggles on, and sneers. “I do believe Grayson is kidnapped every week. Was he not held hostage last Friday?” Tim pointedly ignores the two men and reads to his daughter, tucks her in, and gives her a kiss on the forehead. “I’m sure Dick will be fine for a day or two.” “What?” “Dick can take care of himself just fine,” Tim shoos the other two men out of the cabin, “Now that Dick is otherwise preoccupied, I can finally catch up on some of the poultices I’ve been meaning to make.” Damian eyes Tim warily, “What has Grayson done to incur your wrath now?” “He got kidnapped. Again.” 7. I Like Your Hat, Bro “Nice hat.” “Thanks.” “Are hats a family thing?” “No.” Cass is sitting in the crow’s nest, as usual, enjoying the gentle breeze, Babs is in the girls’ cabin, reading, and Steph is in the kitchen making a feast for their surprise guest. Jay is asleep and Damian is, from the noises coming from the workshop, making something. Tim has thrown Dick out of the infirmary because Dick may have gotten a bit handsy while Tim was trying to work –he was just trying to show his affection. That’s why Dick is sitting on the deck with Fire Fist Ace talking about hats. Because he can’t exactly say what Ace’s necklace reminds him of.
