2021 re2 and re4 doodles i unearthed, 2020-2021 were the years of art block for me - i drew a lot, but not too many of my drawings felt quite right. anyways... sherry finally got that puppy (big puppy...) and parrot she always wanted! im a big fan of taking a single obscure piece of dialogue/game mechanic/inventory item etc and then drawing it

Actually it really fucking frustrates me as a disabled person how ‘controversial’ video game accessibility is, how contrived it is to find actually useful accessibility mods for even popular games, how abled gamers try to distance themselves from us because we’re the ones without social lives, who don’t leave the house, who can’t work.

#ra speaks #personal #video games #accessibility #not to mention this is part of why elderly people would LOVE video games but the modern market is hostile to ANYONE who might need help #whether that’s better designed controllers/easier remapping of controls #options for low vision/color blind players #or simply implementing easier difficulties #do you know how much it fucking sucks to love horror and gore and ‘adult’ material #while being relegated to fucking Nintendo kids games bc they’re the only people #who makes games that are approachable and forgiving and MADE to be understood?#this isn’t a stab at convoluted plots or even difficult bosses this is to say that a lot of adult games #don’t have good game design when it comes to having accessible controls or ‘tutorial’ levels #like that’s the bare fucking minimum and jfc is it rare to find a #‘skill issue/git gud’ fun fact I do in fact kick ass in doom 64.#because it’s an older game with simple controls and plenty of accessibility mods #I suck at modern shooters bc they have shit tutorial levels too many buttons and terrible modding scenes #it’s not a matter of skill it’s a matter of accessibility for the purpose of improving that skill

#just realized im jumpy and cheery when im around people to the point where i could come off as a kind of emotional person #but like. most of it is just masking? like most of the time its just my trained response to what i think is a social cue #and trying to figure out tone based on how people talk. so i tend to add an excessively positive tone so that i don't come across as mean #but like. my natural self is a lot more subdued.#of course there are highs and lows and a lot of the time im just zoning out and forgetting anything or anyone exists #and usually when i am hyperactive it's less the stereotypical adhd jumpiness and more... anger and frustration #i get jittery and idk what im talking about and it's not. fun.#and because i feel like it takes this additional work to kind of... be around people i tend to really enjoy my time alone #and i also. kind of suck at making friends irl. i just cannot approach people first #anyway idrk where this was going but being on tumblr all these years n especially now that i have such wonderful friends here im realizing #that im actually not as introverted as i thought. im just discouraged at the thought of having to decipher shit out with people #im truly a yapper at heart xD #but im also not as overwhelmingly positive as i seem #i just want people to know i love them. even if i really do overcompensate to show it #yeah. some self awareness stuff ig #megumi in the tags

the way we know nothing about kuwabara's dad. the way he doesn't show up at all until the epilogue chapters. why is he not portrayed as someone who kazu and shizu wouldn't care about like yusuke's dad. they're like. the same to me. neither show up even until the end except atsuko tells yusuke's dad that he wouldn't be welcome while that same logic isn't applied to Mr. Kuwabara and i have no idea why

so in chapter 170 he comes outta nowhere and starts talking about the stuff that's gone on so far and kazuma is like "who tf told you" which means they don't talk to him. we don't even SEE shizuru interact with the guy. the only ref to her he makes is talking about her accepting yukina into their household.

he gives off the vibes of an estranged older family member like an uncle that you never see but it's bad because he's their DAD. they don't even mention the kuwabara siblings having a mom and no other guardian is mentioned so that means their dad was the only one but we NEVER SEE HIM TIL NOW. where the hell was he while all this shit was going down?? obviously he heard about it so why didn't he come check on them earlier? maybe it's just a plot hole but honestly i just think he sucks so bad lmao

the fact that he came back randomly without saying anything and made it clear that he heard about all the world changing things going on and maybe even heard about what his son's been getting into and this is the first time we're seeing his face. Shizuru has been taking care of her brother all this time and they both went to the demon world for the dark tournament that kazu participated in at FOURTEEN. he almost died several times before and after this and no father in sight for either of them. idk man just something about it

#im not gonna incorporate the epilogue chapters in my fic bc of this. i just don't like their dad #at least with yusuke's dad we know he's no good as a dad and atsuko told him in no uncertain terms he wouldn't be welcome #but Mr. Kuwabara just waltzes into their lives like it's nbd. wtv wtv #his role in my big bang is just gonna be recruiting kazu because if war breaks out between demons and humans it'll be a hassle #to say the least #so he's laid back about the whole thing approaching kuwa outta nowhere like it hasnt been ages #and bc nobody tells kuwa anything he has to hear about the trouble in makai from a father he barely knows. not demons he calls friends #his dad's like it's better to keep this on the down-low so better not to mention this to ur buddies from makai. it's just us kid!#i just really wanted to explore the teams consistent exclusion of kuwabara and make it come to a head in this fic #yu yu hakusho #kuwabara kazuma #kazuma kuwabara #shizuru kuwabara
