HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS -TIER RANKING LIST (purely based on the books)

Ok, here's the elaborate explanation for specific rankings that literally no one asked for

Sirius and Snape: Whether u r a marauders stan or snape stan, I think the character richness, nuance and complexity of these characters is undeniable, especially considering these r the 'good guys'. So any beef I hv with these characters gets cancelled out because of how well they're written, just because of the pure greyness of their personalities.

Same goes for Dumbledore, especially with his backstory

Teenage Voldemort was the villain, cunning, charming, psychopathic, manipulative; if only those traits had carried on. Adult voldy is straight up dumb, his manipulation of the malfoy family was the only thing in character, really disappointing nonetheless

James is that high because he's a pretty well rounded considering the fact that he's dead before the series starts. This filter didn't have regulus but i d put him in the sm category

Oliver Wood and Lockhart are that high just because they're iconic

The filter didn't hv Parvati Patil, so just consider that image to be her. She's the best side character imo. She's girly in a typical teenage sense, with her giggling, butterfly clips, her obsession with divination and centuars, her love for unicorns etc. But she's a total badass, she totally enjoyed her fame as harry's date in the yule ball, then straight up dumped him n went with sm beauxbatons guys when he wouldn't dance with her, stood up to umbridge, and fought with the DA until the very end. Her last appearance was when she won a duel against a death eater, she's an absolute queen

I did not only love every single fucking character present here, but the designs and the music and the animation god, AND HELL THE HUMOR TOO!! Fucking caught me off guard more than once ngl, but it was great 💀💀

And of course, the thing i loved THE most is having a found family not be separated... :']]

I think this movie does a great job portraying abuse and trauma and PTSD in a very child friendly manner, the lessons it puts there are quite lovely tbh. I wish we could've seen more characters get developed tho!! The two who got the most relevancy and depth were grasshopper and centipide which tbh is ok bc i love them but a little lesson from all of the characters would've been nice too... 🥺

There's, however, a big elephant in the room that i gotta acknowledge, and that is the aunts. As y'all might have realized, my carnal desire for them surpasses my logical brain and makes me overlook the abuse they put James thru which quite honestly parallels my own real one.

I'm speaking w a British accent in my mind alright fucking cringe anyway, aside from the most obvious reason, that being my rampant lust and homosexual tendencies, i wish they hadn't tried to make the characters ugly = evil.

Like idk i think they were kinda bland! I couldn't take their villainous portrayal seriously when most of the time it was like "haha isn't it devious how ugly these old women are??" Like no i need them to ruin me.

I think I'm just a bit disoriented i think blood might not be coming to my head, y'all tell me if I'm making any sense...

Anyway, overall, is this movie good? OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE if not for a bit of lost potential it would have been absolutely perfect!! And yesss, of course i recommend it!! It's such a fun time w such a rewarding end :'33 truly wonderful 🦗

I’m kind of glad she didn’t end up with Jacob because imagine all of your personal/private relationship stuff, including intimacy, being shared with the entire pack? It’s a bit much. It bothers me that Jake/Ness will have that too? I hate that relationship but we all know SM is going to go there with it. At least with Edward reading minds, everyone’s vulnerable moments/thoughts, etc., are only being shared with him and he’s good to keep private about it. But with Jake, it would be the WHOLE pack. No thanks.

ugh idk what meyer's deal is in general with those deeply invasive powers... I feel like being able to choose to share your thoughts in wolf form would be a handy thing, but automatically laying out your mind before the entire pack every time you shift seems a little excessive.

esp since from what I remember from the books it's supposed to be a tactical thing, to give you advantage during a fight. how is you pack mates missing crucial fight-related information bc you're crying over a an ex or a grilled cheese sandwich gone wrong advantageous? also if they could choose which thoughts to share and which not to they could potentially be safe from Edward's mind reading. it has always bothered me (and the pack lol) that Edward can just snoop on what is supposed to be this "sacred art" like... couldn't they be communicating on ~another wavelength~ or have the power to share some thoughts, shield others? that would've been so cool - #excludeedward. anyway the wolves deserved better, but we all know that.

I'm not gonna get into the who j/n thing... cause... yeah. for me personally I've always been an e/b girl, I'm sorry I'm white trash it is what it is. I can see how Edward is not only showing but straight up batman-flaring this DA-tendencies (controlling, lying, manipulating, no care for safety - aka the fast car driving) out into the world and I know that Jacob was only made into a villain for Ed to be able to shine, been discussed in detail. I feel like both Edward and Jacob could've been amazing outside of canon, in canon I love how Edward plays 20 questions with Bella bc he genuinely wants to get to know her, I love that Jacob is so in tune with her he doesn't even have to and they just click. They're both <333 or at least have the potential to be but yeah I'm an Edward/Bella girlie (◡︵◡)

Wants to be first chair so bad, he practices so freaking much I swear

ALWAYS. IN. A. BAND. ROOM. with Iida and Uraraka. They’re always practicing

He’s so confused with music theory, please help him. He just,, WHY is it minor?? WHY IS THERE A SOLO WITH NOTHING WRITTEN?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAS TO IMPROVISE WITH THE CHORDS WRITTEN OVER THE BARS-

Ochako Uraraka:

ALTO SAXOPHONE-

She’s also comfortable enough to play 2nd or 3rd clarinet if needed, or even soprano saxophone

Doesn’t have her own instrument, she borrows from the school and she HATES the reeds, they’re crap. When someone gives her a good reed, she CHERISHES it.

In jazz band also! With the same instrument, but she doesn’t feel ready for solos so she’s usually 2nd or 3rd. Bro when she has to switch from swing to straight she ALWAYS forgets and it’s the band’s downfall.

Tenya Iida:

He HATES having to blow out spit onto the floor, but dude what other choice do you have??

Momo Yaoyorozu:

Definitely bought her own instrument

Sight reading MASTER. she instantly gets the key bro, it’s so rare that she forgets an incidental

Definitely leads sectionals all the time. And she does it WELL.

When people (*COUGH* BASSES*cough*) slowdown, she’ll sway to the beat in hopes that they’ll follow her

Kyoka Jirou:

Electric bass or contrabass, give her either and she’s good to go dude.

Also has perfect pitch and knows her music theory WAY more than a high school student should know. She’s a genius.

Her warm ups? Jam sessions with Hanta and Todoroki. She just shouts a key and they go. It’s usually jazz, she plays a pretty constant pattern, Todoroki tries to improvise but hanta takes over pretty quick-

Definitely in jazz band as well. Also in a school competition band (like singer and stuff), also a one-woman-band. She’s in so many bands dude.

Shouto Todoroki:

TENOR SAXOPHONE

Also has a background in flute bc his parents wanted him to have ~versatility~

Knows all the theory in his head, like he knows what’s going on, he just doesn’t know how to explain it

*false note* “sorry my instrument isn’t warmed up, it’s probably my reed”

Has plastic reeds. And reeds ESPECIALLY for jazz.

Oh yeah he’s in jazz band! Loves that he’s like, the only tenor saxophone so he gets all the solos

Rikidou Satou:

TUBA PLAYER IN DA HOUUUSSEEE

Buddy actually brings the tuba home to practice, he drags that thing AROUND.

Always. Slows. Down. But no one knows it’s his fault most of the time, they blame Sero-

Firmly believes in the “basses are the foundation of the orchestra” mindset, he’s so proud to be a bass

Kouji Kouda:

Soprano Saxophone, but can also handle clarinet if the need comes (he just loves the sound of soprano sax you guys)

DEFINITELY in jazz band, but as a Tenor Sax 2 bc he knows if he went as a soprano sax he probably would’ve gotten solos

Is it Momo’s oboe?? Is it Kouda’s soprano sax?? No one knows the different except those two and Jirou

Plays Shostakovich’s jazz suite no. 2 as a warm up

DEFINITELY A SWAYER. He just gets into the mood of the music and SWAYS.

Tooru Hagakure:

Flautist!! She chose it as an 11 y/o bc it was a girly instrument but she really likes it lol

A mediocre player, she spends most of warm up with Mina tho, she thinks that she’ll get to warm up when she’s playing bc I mean— no one hears the flutes

Wanted to main the picolo for the sole purpose that it’s an Ear Destroyer. Aizawa heard the mischief in her voice and said no.

Sight reading?? What’s that?? She has no idea what’s going on, she just pretends to play and when she’s comfortable with the melody, she’ll just step in. NEVER notices key changes and signatures.

Yuuga Aoyama:

LASKHDSJ FLAUTIST!! Also clarinetist. He loves being able to stay where he is during practice even though he changes instruments it’s sort of funny

His cheeks get SO SORE when he plays clarinet though and he WILL complain.

“My flute is so heavy!” Kind of guy.

Definitely has his own instruments and takes GREAT care of them.

Wetting his reed with his saliva?? No, he plops it in a glass of water instead (the reeds are definitely his own, and expensive)

Tsuyu Asui:

Trombone gang bro.

Positions are burnt into her brain dude she’ll never go out of tune.

SO SMOOTH. SOOOO SMOOO- dude she plays so well?? It’s never spitty, but during jazz (yes she’s in jazz), if it’s a moody piece she KNOWS how to make it juuussssttt airy enough to be beautiful

Not that good with fast songs, but she makes up for her amazing ass vibrato and her range. GOD-LIKE RANGE.

Mashirao Ojirou:

FRENCH HORN!!!

Omg he plays like a king. And he’s so proud of being the ONLY one playing French horn, but there is PRESSURE, because a French horn is rlly tricky to tune dude. Have you SEEN it??

Always keeps his mouthpiece with him, as if he’s afraid someone will play his instrument?? Like no dude it’s good in it’s case but you do you I guess

He doesn’t stand out that much, but in the majestic pieces where he has a 5 measure solo?? He gives it his all and he pulls it OFF. Those moments are always the highlight of the piece

Mezou Shouji:

Bass clarinet!!

Once he managed to growl through bass clarinet and literally ALL the saxophone players were jealous AS FUCK

Buddy goes to a low E♭ like it’s nothing?? And then he goes up to like a high high C and you’re sitting there like THE FUCKING RANGE-

His warmups are like, quick scales and arpeggios. Bro he’s so steady when he plays and he could play for HOURS. Sore cheeks?? Don’t know her.

He so proud of being a bass clarinetist, but when he saw an octobass clarinet?? Aizawa better order one of those for him RIGHT. NOW.

Fumikage Tokoyami:

Baritone saxophone. Also lowkey really wants to learn bassoon because it’s such an old instrument

SKSKS he and Shouji sit next to each other, Tokoyami loves to read off of Shouji’s partition and create the WORST fourths you’ll ever hear. Even Midoriya told them to shut the fuck up once

In jazz band too!! Still plays bari sax

La Di Da Everglow: So impactful, i have a bias towards 80s pop themed songs. 80s pop is so overdramatic and self indulgent with its poppy synth and deep dirty bass and la di da delivered on that. It *is* the song i blast at full volume going 75 on the freeway. literally my anthem, like what more can you want from a song. The girls are literally screaming at you for three minutes teling you to fuck the haters and get a bag while looking sexy ITS EVERYTHING.

Love sick girls BlackPink: for some reason this one got me in the emotions. I cried listening it the first few times. its not often you get a pop release that also fucks with your feelings. last time i cried was feel special. This song is a rollercoaster. from hopelessness, to denial, to heartbreak ,to screaming at the raining sky WHY DONT YOU LOVE ME like, ahhh plus rose and jisoo have writing credits so maybe its so emotion filled because its a passion project. their first writing credits on a song yay them. rose belting but we were born to be alone really did hurt my feelings ouch 10/10.

pporappipam sunmi: love story of the century what more can i say. I told you already i love 80s pop what did you expect from me? The soft vocals the soft purples the midnight

5 STAR CL:is this what its like being in love? pporappipam and 5 star are the closest i’ll get to experiencing it. the lyrics go so well with the music. its hard not groove. its the slow song, its the love song, its the song you remember long after the relationship is gone and you listen back and smile through your tears bopped

Diver yooa: Ok you’ve heard i love 80s pop but what about 70s disco? yes yooa pprovided that for me. I’m very greatful, its powerful like a ballad, funky like a dancetrace, and catchy as a mother f*cker

wannabe Itzy: it doesnt even feel like wannabe came out this year but it did so let me go back in my head to march.the dance break, especially when you’re first seeing it is impactful. Its that heavy bass girl power bop that sustained me through finals week of the winter semester amen. The song really delivers on telling the listener to be unapologetically them.

Bad girl woo!ah!: Theres so much about the song. I- where do I begin. I like that they take risks with the song, its not the normal pop bop formula thats popular nowadays. its still had a bit of a edm(?) type influence like wooah’s debut but theres also more sonically cohesive or better sounding things in the song as a whole, but they didnt lose their uniqueness either. The rap parts are killer, the dance break is weird and fun, and and the after chorus screams girl power. plus all the wooah girlies are so damn cute how can i not love

Tag Me weeekly: I literally never shut up about this song.I never shut up as soon as i heard it this was all that i talked about. this song IS for main characters. Its girls, its sassy, its retro its what me and the girls needed and weekly provided.

tiger inside superm: how do i explain why i like tiger inside so much. It feels like an action movie track. But not any action movie track. Its like when the main character realizes their true power under pressure and starts kicking ass or something.

black mamba aespa: its bassy fun. I described the concept as acid trip powepuff girls and i stand by it. Feels like an action movie track which is why its next to tiger inside. Its canon that superm and aespa are connected or at least in the same universe, but give sm credit, notice how the high note at the end of black mamba is the similar to baekhyuns climax in tiger inside?

So bad stayc: ne, ne ,ne, ne, ne meoli meoli. ne meolisoge. Once again another love ballad pop song with high energy synth and bass. I ALREADY SAID THIS i love overdramatic self indulgent obnoious pop songs like im sorry im basic. when i first heard it there was something in it that reminded me of early 2000s pop but i couldnt put my finger on it. but once again overall bop im a sucker for melodramatic love songs bye

Bazooka Gwsn: NAN ANAJUL GEOYAAAAAAAAAAAA ugh its one of those songs that so chic? like something you’d strut down a runway too, or theres a shopping montage when your out on the town with the girls™. the whole synth pop upbeat swing thing it had going on is so freeing in a way. its feels airy summery and fun and when thar NAN CHAJAJUL GEOYAAAAA WHOAH hits its over.

better twice: gosh ok how do i explain myself im sticking to one song per artist and better beat out cant stop me i ok ok- chill let me explain. I do fucking LOVE 80S pop/city pop and i cant stop me was everything i love in an 80s song but when i first heard better it gave me the feeling. you know the feeling. that youve heard the song before and you already love it. I didnt even need to know the lyrics because the song is so nostalgic in its own way, i already pieced together it reminds me of a friendship/relationship we all wish we had. I listen to the song when im lonely and yes i tear up a bit ok i cry a lot.

got that boom secret number: it is a step up from who dis. and i liked who dis. who dis was basic harmless fun. got that boom though, GOT THAT BOOM though,,, 👀that chorus,, like bazooka, got that boom has the feeling of freedom and fun and colors and i stan it. when the girls say “Dance, dance. Dance. Get up dance” you know exactly what the fuck to do. Someone else pointed out that the lyrics in the chorus of who dis slows down. It takes its time to say what it needs to say and i feel like got that boom is the same way. especially ESPECIALLY when denise (i think) starts belting after jinny’s tounge twister rap. “Fly Fly Fly away -” for some reason it felt like spice girls but i cant place why. overall bopped.

Play Chungha: i had to pick one chungha song, its play. play is love, play is mischief, play is energetic, play is end of the year spectacle all wrapped in one because chunga doesnt know how to flop. Something about the music in the chorus feels like it contrasts chunghas voice. Plus the influence from other cultures adds that spice.

revolution: alexa i love you. shes so uwu. and this chorus splash of ice cold water in the face. alexa wants you to get the message shes yelling at me in the chorus “THIS IS A REVOLUTION_ REVOLUTION OF THE MIND” and then of course in alexa fashion theres a ridiculous dance break near the end. Its the talent for me love.

home YEZI: once again, this song is probably the closest i’ll feel to romantic love. 10 for the vocals, ten for the song, 10 for the MV.

MORE k/da: Does k/da count as a kpop group because im counting them as a kpop group first listen i wasnt sure during their brief intro but as soon as akalis part cae on i knew that once again a virtual character from a game had managed to become the singular pillar holding up the music industry yet again. the way the music cuts out and akali goes in, goes IN! AND SHE DRAGGED ME IN WITH HER.
