just slowly came to the realization that lord Apollon has been that one deity that just kinda appeared in my life over a few years. and i don't remember when it started, but it gives me so much comfort knowing that i have indeed had someone watching over me even when my memory hadn't been the best to acknowledge it.

I keep thinking, we should make a modern epithet for Apollon and his role in mental health/therapy. Unfortunately I cannot find an Ancient Greek equivalent to the word ‘therapist’, so I’ve used modern Greek.

Απόλλων θεραπεία (Apollon therapeía) = Apollon the Therapist

Απόλλων μυαλό/myaloú (Apollon myaló/myalou ) = literally Apollon of the mind

Απόλλων διατεθειμένος (Apollon diatetheiménos ) = of the mind/sanity

What do y’all think? I’m really loving all of them honestly, though I’m partial to Apollon myaló. Nους is another word for mind/intellect, however, the literal translation for ‘mind healer’ is "therapeftís tou myaloú". So I figured myaló/myalou would do fine? My Greek is by no means perfect, I am still learning! I’ve consulted a native speaker but if any other native speakers have any opinions please message me!

something i’ve noticed is that most of my deities like sending me signs (cats, butterflies, flowers, smells, etc.) but Apollo likes leaving me little gifts. guitar picks have been a recurring theme with him (i pick them up and put them on his altar) and he’s quite loud when he wants to be noticed

Giving Apollo Your Voice is a Bad Idea

Me: Okay...I'm learning to get out of my Christianity trauma, you know that right?

Apollo: I'm well aware, yes.

Me: But I also want to try and really trust you...

Apollo: That's wonderful. Work at your own pace of course, but—

Me: —Which is why I decided to give you my voice.

Apollo: ....

Me: ....

Apollo: ....Wow.

Me: ...Yeah.

Apollo: That's a big step for you.

Me: I wanted to show I trust you.

Apollo: ....

Me: And I'd also like to sing again and actually like my voice and I know I broke it like years ago and junk and I thought...maybe slowly we could heal it?

Apollo: [gets ideas]

You know what...sure...that's perfect...let's fix that voice of yours.

Me: .... Okay -unknown twinge of regret/fear-

~Later~

[Doesn't tolerate bullshittery and speaks out on people's transgressions towards me]

Me: Wait...What are you doing?!

Apollo: Heh...

[Starts opening up on feelings I suppressed]

Me: Hang on now...

Apollo: >:3

[Affirming my own needs and wants instead of self-sacrificing; starts telling others no]

Me: THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANTED

Apollo:

IT'S WHAT YOU NEED!!

[Starts setting firm verbal boundaries with others]

Me: OH MY GODS

Apollo: -laughs-

The annoying thing about this is it worked. He told me to sing, I sang. My throat stopped being less closed up in general, so my voice was clearer and started sounding better.
