Can i just say I'm glad u kept the original intention from Jorge and Tayla here its clear that Circie in the musical was only trying to get Odysseus in bed with her to kill him. Ive seen a few animatics which forego that which creates a different meaning than intended and makes Circie look dumb or the worst case have it come off as Circie being a rapist

(which makes the people in some comment sections making Say No To This Jokes gross in my opinion. Like Hamilton chose to cheat on his wife. Odysseus in the musical from his perspective and if people neglect that Circie is actively trying to kill him is not being given a choice because Circie literally has his men hostage. Like if the genders were reversed I know damn well people would not be making those jokes)

Like the only reason Circie lets him live is because his love for Penelope is true which to her signifies Odysseus is a good man unlike those who have harmed her daughters in the past

The majority of animatics that are out now were made when we didn't have the whole context of what was going to happen between Circe and Odysseus. Kind of… Like we knew that Circe was going to stab him and then it was cut off. I always had my theory that Odysseus didn't sleep with Circe due to the quote from Athena from the God Games song. Like, was she lying and if he did or not, then what exactly does it mean if Odysseus slept with Circe in both statements?

But I also want to thank @dootznbootz for making a really good post about the relationship between Odysseus and Circe. It influenced me a lot when making this animatic.

I already didn't like the idea of having him fighting against lust. Because like what… Here's a medal for not banging that chick? Cause I had a hard time relating with if Ody was struggeling to reject Circe's sexual advances in a "Ohh I am so into this but I cant cuz I need to be faithful". AND Circe IS threatening him in the lyrics. "Sleep with me or I kill your bois." That is not a steam generator! I wouldn't be into it if someone was threatening my friends unless I sleep with them. 🙄

BUT! People gonna simp! No matter the context sometimes! No one is guilt-free from guilt pleasures. So there will be people simping even if my animatic is really clear that it's not consensual. And I don't really mind it so much.

The thing about Age Swap AU that I really like is the fact that both Mob and Reigen are inherently so much more unstable.

On Reigen's end, most of it is from the fact that he's a kid—he doesn't have the same amount of emotional intelligence because he has less experience overall, and the fact that his relationship with his parents isn't,,,,great, even in a canon setting. A boy still mucking around in the trenches of parental abuse/neglect is always going to be more rickety emotionally and mentally than a grown man who's been given years to heal and distance himself from it.

And then there's Mob. Mob is a bit more a wild card in this area, just because without Reigen his childhood is more or less an unknown. Did Mogami find him? Would it have made him crueller if Mogami mentored him instead? What about Claw? Did they take him in? Is he still with them, did they fall, does he regret it? Is he jaded or riddled with guilt or stuffed so far back in his shell that it takes a little blond boy wielding a huge emotional and verbal hammer to start breaking through it? Either way, I definitely don't see him being as emotionally stable as canon Mob. He likely hasn't reconciled with Shigeo, he probably never truly accepted his powers, and thus has the emotional maturity of a ten year old—Reigen still beats him on this. Mob's only point of positive advice would've been Ritsu, and that's....I mean, it's Ritsu. He hasn't had any significant good influences in his life so he absolutely struggles on how to be one himself.

The potential for these two to be codependent is SO much higher and I love it. Unhealthy dynamics are my absolute JAM (one of the reasons I have this animatic rotating in my head at top speeds 24/7 365) so the inherent prickliness of whatever Wrongness™ these two have going on just. has me. Reigen clings because it's all he knows how to do—even if Mob banishes him from the office, he's a persistent kid that hasn't learned you shouldn't chase after moody grown men with emotions so repressed it manifests as a literal eldritch alter with no morals to curb its desires. And Mob has had to go even longer alone in this sort of universe than ever, and Reigen is likely the only person who's never been afraid of him; he's latching onto that kid like bear trap and never letting go. He's still tenderhearted, but it's plagued with years and years of loneliness and inner turmoil that he's had no one around to soothe; he's over a decade too late for 'healthy'. Not that Reigen minds <3

TRANS N GRAH!!! (Headcanon that must be written more in Nuzi)

While I work on my animatic, please GUYS write a Nuzi fic where N is transmasc. Like the transmasc headcanon is terribly underrated I literally only seen 6 fics with the trans tag on Archive Reader and most of them are trans Uzi like come on let our boy have some screen time! Keep in mind I am not much of a writer anyways so I just draw lol.

So I have Random/AU prompts which could have been taken from someone else but if it has been already thought of please tell me because I'm going off the top of my head.

- Uzi and N work for the Elliotts and N makes a discovery about himself that leads him to having a weight off his shoulders with Uzi and Tessa supporting him in every way. It strengthens N and Uzi's bond even more.

- N is a popular kid at school but desperately doesn't want the life he has now because it doesn't show who he truly is, he begins hanging out with the outcast as she's the only one who truly knows who N is.

- In the middle of their relationship, N talks about his past and he says to Uzi that he's still the same N she knows but he changed in ways that made him see himself in a better light.

- N has been insisting to the other drones he's a boy but they deny his identity and continue to be misgendered and experience transphobia, luckily his friends don't tolerate that. Not even his short tempered girlfriend.

Sketchbook Friday #22

Alternate Title: Megatron Monday but on Friday

Hooo boy all of these are old because I can never get myself to post! I’m pretty sure most of these were drawn before S1B of Earthspark came out for reference

Anyway bring on the villains

Starting off with Mandroid because I have literally two pictures of him and the rest is all Megs! I wanted to get a feel for his character design because I want to make a short animatic (shitpost of course because I am incapable of drawing anything serious) involving him.

Turns out, he’s actually kinda fun to draw. (Maybe that’s just because I’ve been losing my mind trying to draw robots.)

HIM!! I redrew one of my favorite screenshots of him. Perspective didn’t turn out as well as I wanted it to (mainly since I’m still learning perspective akmsksjskd) but otherwise I think it looks great!!

Played around with markers in class and made this. I don’t know if I used a ref either, so I’m pretty proud of this one too!

Angry man. Angry.

last song i listened to: So I'm actually going to plug three songs that I've been absolutely obsessed with over the past weekend and have been listening on repeat as a result, all by the same artist -- Lydia the Bard, over on YouTube.

Lydia makes villain songs for the Disney princesses (among other Disney female characters). Her first handful were just lower pitched versions of their songs (or songs from their movies), but as she progressed she started changing lyrics, and now she's really grown and is making the songs more and more unique, culminating in finally creating a wholly unique villain song for Tinkerbell, which just came out and is my favorite.

"Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall" recontextualizes Tinkerbell's animosity toward Wendy. In this version, Tinkerbell and the other fairies of Pixie Hollow brought Peter Pan and the other Lost Boys there because, due to the nature of fairies' existence depending on humans believing in them, fairies were dying all around them as humans grew up and stopped believing. So the only way to secure their own lives was to make sure their humans never grew up. But Wendy threatens that by making Peter and the others long for human lives. Therefore, Tinkerbell sees her as a threat who must be taken out to save her own and her friends' lives. Not only does this song make Tinkerbell a far more compelling character, but the vocal performance is stunning, and the animatic that goes with it is amazing as well. Literally obsessed.

The other two I'm obsessed with are Meg's (where Hercules betrayed her as well & she kills Hades & takes his power) and Isabela's (where Mirabel doesn't get to her in time, and her resentment over the arranged marriage drives her to snap). Meg's is a bop and has a killer line in "In time they'll say I was cruel 'cause I cared", and I'm sorely tempted to use her final look at the end of the animatic as my Halloween costume this year. Meanwhile, Isabela's is also killer musically of course, and has equally fire lines like, "What could you possibly expect was gonna happen when you made me? / Tend to a plant with poison and expect a flower, are you crazy?" They're both just so good.

favorite color: Purple! Specifically cool shades, and especially cool shades that are more pastel, mixed with grey. I also like blues and greens that are faded like that, too.

currently watching: A little while ago I had started rewatching Sabrina the Teenage Witch since I hadn't watched it since middle school, but once I got to season four it got . . . bad . . . and it has continued to be bad . . . so I've kind of stopped watching lmao. I've lately been rewatching Jenny Nicholson's videos, but I finished that, so now I've gone back to rewatching Jenna Marbles videos. Oh, and I really love this series on YouTube called Bistro Huddy! It's hilarious, and Drew (the guy who portrays all the characters) is fantastic, he really melts into the roles so you almost forget it's one guy doing all of them. Highly recommend checking it out.

spicy/savory/sweet: Honestly depends on my mood, but I do have a strong sweet tooth, so honestly it's hard to go wrong by offering me ice cream or a cookie or something similar.

relationship status: Currently dating the lovely @skimmingthesurfaces 💜 She's actually going to be here this weekend for my birthday! (My birthday is on Tuesday, so I'm very blessed to have her with me for the whole weekend.)

current obsession(s): Aside from the songs mentioned above, I've been really thinking about one OC in particular of mine, and her story / novel . . . she's a character that I first created when I was about 13 or so, and has gone through a lot of development since then, but I've been fleshing out a lot more of her story and how she fits into this new original world I've created (since she was originally created for a Legend of Zelda role play, albeit even back then she came from a country outside of Hyrule). I really love and cherish her a lot, even though most other characters think she fulfills the "girl who is stupid" role in the adventuring party, and on some level she also believes this about herself, and to be fair she's not academically gifted at all, but to be even more fair the school and in fact overall society she was raised in was extraordinarily fucked up and no one actually tried to teach her in a way that would help her learn and in fact learning disabilities were seen as personal failings and --

Ahem. Anyway. I have long since described her as "pure of heart, dumb of ass," and in many ways she is, but for the second half, she's not in the way most everyone around her growing up assumed she was (including herself), or like, even if she is it wasn't 100% her fault (like yeah she slept in class and that was on her, but also she wasn't going to learn whether she was awake or not because her teachers were not going to be able to teach her the material because it was a One Size Fits All approach to teaching even when it really wasn't -- and that's only scratching the surface of the problems in her school / culture, it's a huge systemic thing). But yeah I've just been thinking about her a lot. Karin's my girl and I love her lots.

ive had this idea floating around in my head that could probably be a fanfic?? like idk ive been thinking of making this into a fan made “episode” script but in case i dont do anything with it i wanna share it rn cuz its been in my noggin since a week ago!!! aa!!!

at first this just started as an animatic idea of a chase scene between red and chuck but then i tried to elaborate on it all. ive been curious as to how they would interact, so im gonna make them for like 1 minute BUT UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES? one mission, assigned to red. Kane has been studying the burners one by one, and there was one who caught his eye.. chuck. he seems to be the closest to mike, literally riding shotgun with him IN HIS CAR in almost every battle so far, and he was the one who managed to hack into kane’s warpod that one day along with being the boy responsible for shutting down a kmg MID AIR. the boy is smart; he might know a thing or two. both about precision, and most importantly.. chilton.

kane (or actually the r&d department lol) has a little gift prepared for him. all they need is the actual boy to give it to. the thing is, he’s never seen alone.. they need him by himself. this is a special mission, one that requires stealth and speed, so who better to send to get the job done than red? he’s beat mike down almost twice, and even captured him once with a bit of help. here’s the plan: lure the burners out of their lil junkyard with kane bots, follow them from a close distance & use chuck’s “gift” to disrupt surrounding power sources (INCLUDING the burner cars engines) which should result in them crashing near a foggy area, and snag chuck.

the burners get out to investigate their engines.. they’ve been shut down. but from what?? their car hoods were completely shut- SURPRISE!! red takes chuck away into the fog!! o noes!! (insert chase scene with chuck lol) once he’s in red’s hands, he literally plugs kane’s surprise gift into chuck’s back, attaching itself to him and to his nerves like a parasite. the extending wires almost glow through his skin as they enter his body.. compressing his current memories and sending commands to his brain. chuck’s struggling was getting weaker by the minute as more commands began to take over his brain. he would now be used as a weapon against chilton once an for all.

you guys don't know him bc he's from a Secret Project i have with my friend that i hold very dear to me. this animatic was supposed to stay between the both if us but like, do you really expect me to NOT show this masterpiece that literally took me a week to make? nuh uh

here are the stills, and some bonus images! the before-before last (i gorgor if that had a word) image was my first go at the lighting of the first frame in the Important Part, the before last image is that same frame but without the lighting bc i like the texture of the paper and the last one is just the lighting of, well, that same frame without the lineart, i think it looks cool, i really liked the experimentation on that specific frame for some reason. btw i literally have no idea how i did all that lighting and shadows, they just Happened

some info on my man bc i love him so much: he is an unhinged and concerning conspiracy theorist that also smokes zaza on the daily, he was hit with the dodgeball of prophecy at birth and now sometimes has visions of the future, which he cannot control btw, he's the definition of weird and i love him very much

i actually used procreate dreams for that animation!! it’s alright for back to back frame animations but Oh Boy is it hard to manipulate when you want to move around certain frames or to have them last longer when synchronizing them with audio. somehow procreate’s animation option (not procreate dreams) is easier to handle ??? bc Somehow dreams doesn’t have basic stuff like a lasso tool???? and if you want to move a pack of frames you need to group them and Then ungroup them if you want to tweak them individually?????? it’s got potential but man you can tell it’s still pretty new and is in need of lots of updates…

but yeah if i had to recommend softwares i’d say procreate (the regular app not dreams lol). iirc it’s only 10€? but even flipaclip is good for animatics so if you’re not sure abt spending money on procreate then there’s always this! tho imo any drawing software works for animatics as long as you’ll have an editing app/software.

for editing the easiest recommendation is capcut!! super easy to use and has a lot of good stuff for a free app (there’s a premium version but honestly it’s not necessary at all) - the app adds a small « made using capcut » clip but i’ve had no problem removing it directly in my phone album so no worries in that:)

ive also heard good stuff about Fable as a good substitute for After Effects (same with Pencil2D for ToonBoom/TVPaint!!!)

I did one of these on tiktok Over a Year Ago, I call it an Animatic To-Do List, and it's basically a list of Animatics I want to do at some point. And with The Underworld Saga coming out very soon...

A Humanformers Epic the Musical Animatic To-Do List

It's literally just Humanformers Animatics with Epic Songs and has literally nothing to do with the Oddesey/Greek Mythos Outside of That. And also, Humanformers BECAUSE I CANT ANIMATE ROBOTS FOR THE LIFE OF ME AND I DONT WANT TO TRY. It took me long enough to figure out how to draw TFs in a style I liked.

List below the cut.

So I'm doing pretty much every Song released so far except Survive,Polyphemus, and Storm, which Storm is Kinda Up In the Air of if I'm gonna do it or not. That may be a short Animatic. Also Descriptions of what I plan to do with them.

Horse and The Infant:

I've thought about this a lot, and I know I want to create a Praxis Animatic for this song because it reminds me of him. Also, Zues=Prima (in personality)

Just a man:

So..uh..Confession that a lot of people probably already know.. I used to, and still kinda do, Play Gacha. I had a series I created with Gacha and posted to My YouTube Channel called Knights Honor, which has now wrapped up. And It basically focused on Thunderhowl and the Other Knights of The Primes. This is where OCs Like Necromancer, Praxis, and Esmerelda were born. Scatterspark and Thunderstrike already existed at that time, but they were fairly different. So Anyway, in Thunderhowl’s intro for his Parts, because the series was Segmented by Knight, he had his backstory dialog from Cyberverse + Just A Man. This series was a musical of sorts, and I originally planned for One of Thunderhowl’s songs post imprisonment to be Just A Man, but eventually decided against it, though I put it in the intro. After Thunderhowl, I started this pattern of using songs I decided against in the Intro.

So this is why I want To Create a Thunderhowl Animatic for Just A Man.

Full Speed Ahead:

Open Arms:

An Animatic with Thunderhowl and Hot Rod, slightly inspired by a fanfic I read, though mostly original.

Warrior of The Mind:

ORION PAX/OPTIMUS AND ALPHA TRION I HAVE THOUGHT OF THIS SO OFTEN IT DRIVES ME CRAZY

Polyphemus/Survive: I'm putting this here to explain why I'm not doing these. And it's simple.

I don't care for these two songs. Something about Polyphemus's voice? It just messes with me the wrong way, I don't know what it is. And also that way I can try to avoid being reminded of Polites. I get why people like these songs but I don't care for them. I'll listen to them on occasion but they're not a favorite.

Remember Them:

It's probably a short Animatic because I love the end part with Athena and Ody shouting everything about him to everyone in the world. I love that he delayed his way home by 10 years by doing that. I like watching misery sometimes.Probably Gonna be Optimus and Trion.

My Goodbye:

Though it's no longer Canon,(to the fanfic, the song is plenty canon) I made a Gcmv with Aria and Cody from Rescue bots to this song, but I might change it to like, Jett and Aria.

Either way, Cyberverse Human Partners AU animatic.

Storm:

I actually like Storm Quite a bit, I just can't find any ideas for it.

Luck Runs Out:

Do you know how much this song reminds me of MegaOp.? Like, yeah. Not even in a Romantic sense.

Keep your friends close:

This is actually my second favorite song, and I really want to animate my OC Nightjaw as Aeolus, who also, like Aeolus, was a boy in the original source material.

Ruthlessness:

I knew I wanted to create an Animatic of it, and my First idea was Alchemist and Onyx Vs Starscream..but then I was like Ehh I don't like that, so I decided on A Necromancer Animatic because he may seem sweet, but he is very much a "Ruthlessness is Mercy" Kind of Person deep down. So a Necromancer vs. Op Animatic, and I'm hoping to create more of those after Ruthlessness.

Puppeteer:My third favorite song! I love this song ,and it is so my OC Loki. So Hot Rod and Soundwave are invited in by Her.

Wouldn't you like:

Thunderhowl In my Fan Contunity was built upon the snippet of this Song literally. just Thunderhowl in My Fan Contunity.

Done For: my Favorite Snippet I heard and My Favorite Song! Loki vs Hot Rod.

There are Other Ways:I actually didn't think I'd like this song as much as I did.(Thanks, Ody, for saying no to this.)

Legendary:One of the First Snippets I heard, it reminds Me Of my Oc, Apollo, who is the Son of Thunderhowl in my Future Kids AU.

Love In Paradise: one of, If not the first,Snippet I heard. I want to create a Hammerquake(OC) animatic to it.

The Challenge: another Nightjaw Animatic

Hold Him Down:CircuitBreaker(OC) animatic if I don't replace CircuitBreaker by then.(seriously I'm thinking of Replacing him with a New Oc, he doesn't work in that AU anymore.)

Snippets I was gonna do before the Underworld saga was announced so now I'm gonna wait for the official release:

No longer You: i was restraining myself to thumbnail this one when The Underworld saga was announced because I have the whole snippet. In. My.Head.

It opens with my Fan Contunity Optimus walking into a Room, and finding Vector Prime. He starts singing. And like there's a Cybertron reference, there's clockwork all around in an empty void of Space. It was literally gonna look awesome, but now I gotta wait.

Monster:

An Animatic about one of My Thunderhowl AUs. You can probably guess what the AU is about by the song. I actually have an incomplete Flipaclip version that I abandoned.
