I'm so happy, I broke 70,000 words today! I am so shocked to say that in the last week I have written 20,000 words. It's amazing to see what happens when I commit to myself and show up for myself. I might not have hit 5000 today but I'm just shy of that number! I am so glad to see it getting built and each time I write I heal a little more, While so many people have hurt me, I see now how my own actions aided in me being hurt, to be able to stand up as a human and own my actions is the most healing steps I have ever taken in my life. Despite the bad things despite the abuse, despite the rape and the madness, seeing now that I had a choice the whole time, it is empowering to know! I didnt know back then that I had a choice, I was conditioned to think I didn't! Now i see that i did all along and to see how I have grown blesses me so much! ✍Dear Americans in denial about Racism, It is one thing to be ignorant, it's another thing altogether to CHOOSE to be ignorant. In reality, many are of you are well aware that racism is real, but you'd rather be just deflectors who love to use one-liners like:'" It's not about race!" or "Race is not an issue.", or my favorite (NOT!) "Stop using the race card!!". Newsflash: America was built on a race card that it continues to swipe and reap benefits from. Just because you don't experience the symptoms of racism firsthand, doesn't mean this country isn't severely infected with the "Disease of Racism". So every time you open your mouth to spout the "Stop using the race card!!" rhetoric, all I hear is "*sneeze* Sorry, sir/madam ... you're infected with "privilege!!" and "denial" and it's potentially contagious." 😷😷 There's hope for you though: You don't have to remain ignorant or in denial. You can open your eyes and your minds to the possibility that racism is very real and it affects millions of people on a daily basis. This extends to be difficult here and ther, it is difficult because we have been programmed to focus on what we do not have. Right now is the perfect moment to spend giving thanks for the things you have in your life, to spend giving gratitude for the things you could easily not have. Always say thank you for the roof over your head, this is a blessing while so many did not last night. Be thankful that you have a bed to lie down in and a pillow to put your head on for so many did not last night. Be thankful that you woke up and you had your choice of food this morning, for so many will go hungry today. Stop getting caught up in the bull that is filtering around on the news, instead stop and use your head for a moment and think about what you have in your life right now. Do you have your health, give thanks, do you have a job, give thanks, do you have a dream?? These are all things to give thanks for... simply with the understanding that if you are not that there will onr day be someone in your place that is, when that happens and you see them rise, well you will know why they rose.
