people on tumblr will literally be like being weird and unconventional is only acceptable to make other people feel unwelcome and not under any circumstances to be done unironically

i do think there needs to be a conversation about how hostile the rest of tumblr is to mcytblr. it's completely unfounded, particularly vitriolic, and kinda hypocritical considering that people on this site claim to be accepting of the 'weird'? what happened to that? what happened to critical thinking and staying informed?

it's genuinely a bit frustrating that people have so much hatred towards this general fandom when it literally is just a normal fandom that happens to have a lot of people in it. i have been in a bunch of fandoms before and the variety and nature of the people in it is always the same. people seem to just assume mcyt is malicious somehow...?

like the whole "goodtimeswithscar killed my grandma" meme, except people seem to unironically just hate him. he's just a cool youtube guy. calm down.

something i've noticed on here is people obsession with comparing every single one of david tennant's recent tv appearance outfits to crowley cos they're black and have stars on them like. bro the guy who picks his clothes probably just went hmm this is a cool jacket he'd look great in that, he's not channeling anything?? esp cos stars actually have not a whole lot of importance in good omens like?? you've got before the beginning and running off to alpha centuari and the astronomy book in his flat and thats is. like idk maybe this is one of those cases where tumblr has latched onto something cos its aesthetic or cool or smthn and so now Everything With Stars In It is now an angel crowley reference like?? no?? david is just wearing that stuff cos it looks good on him and people are kinda being weird about it. he's probably not trying to be crowley. just because he played crowley doesnt mean he is as obsessed as you are.

People acting like literally any moderation on a site is censorship is bonkers to me. I’ve seen literal porn sites with hardcore rules about content that still allow LGBT+ content and even fanfiction. Like truly I’ve never gotten anyone to be able to give me a reason that isn’t being terrified of the ghost of Anne Rice or just insisting someone should be able to post their extremely underage choose not to use archive warnings fic where H*rry P*tter/S*pernatural characters are graphically gabused into oblivion at the age of seven or whatever.

It's probably down to external factors right now, but everyone always says how friendly and communal Tumblr is and actually I feel like it's one of the loneliest platforms?

I genuinely think tik tok is the most damaging app I’ve ever downloaded. and keep in mind this app gave me an eating disorder. 

what you eat has an impact on the environment thats just a fact. how u choose to mitigate that might be trying to use locally sourced produce, it might be growing your own, it might be reducing meat intake, it might be supporting community food initiatives, it might just be buying un-packaged produce or avoiding out-of-season fruit, or maybe ur not in a position to do anything. but stop fucking listening to people who tell you that the other regular people who choose to do a different thing from this list than you do are the enemy to distract you from who’s really creating the problem. if you spend more time railing at vegans than you do at monsanto and cargill and ADM then you’re literally falling into the same trap as someone who makes 40k and complains about the minimum wage being increased
