Basically just hc’s abt what ren does in his free time watching u, yk, normal stuff

So what if that dumb brunette was 6’9’’??? So what if he was a pyromaniac??? He was just a dumb game character, Ren was real! Besides, Ren was more than sure that those missing 4 inches of height between and that fictional guy went somewhere… else.

You didn’t know what you were missing out on!! Ren was right there, always waiting for you to notice him! If you gave him even the smallest chance, he’d swoop in and make your life a living romance visual novel if you wanted!

He could be anyone you wanted him to be! At all! If that’s what it takes for him to be yours, he’d do it in a heartbeat!

(I have brought this up before lmao) Would absolutely be down to try and cosplay any character you aggressively rave about to Moth.

While he absolutely detests Moth for being the one that you go to with this stuff, he can’t deny that it's useful for him to tap into the call, mute Moth on his own end and listen to you go on and on about whatever you’re rambling about at the moment.

Your voice is so pretty, like a canary… Birds remind him of freedom in some way, some days Ren would like to keep you captive, hide you away from the world.

But then he looks at himself in the mirror and he sees his father stare back.

And it is the worst feeling in all of Corland Bay.

He hums to himself, listening to you talk on and on to Moth but can’t help and think, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if I was the only one they ever sang to?’ and it sends Ren into a spiral of dark thoughts he immediately dry heaves at.

He’s trying so hard to focus on your melodic tone before he pants over the sink, body shaking. No, no, no, no.

No. He is not psychopathic. You are not something he can own. You are not his. That is not his decision. You have your voice. You are your own person.

“Hey, you alright?” Your calming voice shakes him out of his stupor. Of course, it did. It helped him get through nightmares, through hungover evenings where he just wanted to be with you, past his job when he felt demotivated.

Subconsciously, he knew you were just talking to Moth, but he couldn’t help but respond. “Y-yeah. I think so.”

“Mm, I feel that.”

Wow, maybe if he squinted, the two of you could be having a conversation! If it wasn’t for that lingering thought of his bastard dad, he would’ve been giggling on the couch, kicking his feet and twirling his hair.

…He was really getting into his Ren persona, wasn’t he…?

“Look, cheer up, things get better. I mean, my job’s no walk in the park, but it’s about the small wins!” He could hear the grin in your voice, you always managed to bring your emotions through audio, “Like, like! The other day, some guy on the street saw my subtle Attack on Giants jacket and stopped to me and said―”

“ ‘Yoo, is that AOG?’ “ Ren repeated the same words with a small smile on his face. He remembered how you reined in your expression before your face lit up as soon as you were by yourself.

You sighed and chuckled at whatever Moth had replied. “No, I am not a huge nerd. I simply have good taste. Oh yeah, remember how I told you about that one skater boy–” and your voice faded to background noise again.

Ren took a couple deep breaths to calm himself. He wasn’t his sperm donor, he’d be better. For you.

And the rest of his nights would be spent, adoringly adding to your shrine and his collection of your items.

Then he would lay in bed, clutching a pillow, wishing it were you he had to cuddle with but could settle for the plush, soft object until he finally won you over.

(personal headcanon that ren has one of those like, duck filled pillows he hugs instead of his stuffed toys which he leaves on display. Sometimes all the body parts just get in the way and he just wants to hug something soft… :(( like you :(( )

Which he would… one day.

The Certified Pond Analysis of Scraptrap Voicelines

Because I haven’t talked about this rabbit’s voice lines as much as I should.

Buckle up. This is gonna get wordy.

So, going in the order of this video, we have:

“I always come back!”

The most quoted Afton line. And understandably so. This is the man at his most triumphant, even with his.. questionable suit-repair choices. The emphasis on “always” as well as the moderately louder volume really sells that confident air Springtrap continues to have in FNAF AR. Though, as we’ll soon see, this is not the only emotion he feels as Scraptrap.

(Also, before we continue: This gives me the first point on the “I can hear the smile in his voice” scoreboard. It’s a surprise tool that should help us later.)

”Bittersweet, but fitting”

…And by “later”, I apparently mean now.

There may be a smirk at the end, but it’s not a strong one. The overall line read is much more reserved here. Maybe even somber, if I’m inferring correctly. The choice of words is interesting here too. Whoever’s the owner of the Pizza Sim building, he may not be as fond of jumpscaring them as one would think…

”What a deceptive calling! I knew it was a lie the moment I heard it— Obviously, but it is intriguing nonetheless…”

Ah, yes. The big monologue post-Salvage. Couple of things I noticed here that aren’t debatable lore implications:

(1) Man’s rushing through that second half for some reason. Don’t know if that was an editing error, an intentional line read, or Scraptrap trying to.. reason with himself? Sound smarter than he thinks he is? I dunno, something about the pacing is off here.

(2) Oh, hey, first line with a “snake hiss”! This isn’t a consistent trait with his lines, but it’s a key feature that I use to differentiate Springtrap and Scraptrap during voice impressions.

(3) This man puts so much emphasis on words sometimes. So much so that I can not only hear the smile near the end, but I can also feel the eye roll during “deceptive”. And PJ Heywood never voice acted before FNAF apparently? H u h.

Anyway, moving on before I start implying that Scrap-Trap might’ve been lured in by a newspaper or something…

“Fascinating! What they have become…”

Another point to the “I can hear the smile” board. We’re on three points now; three and a half if you count “Bittersweet”.

This one I’ve already brought up before, but the abridged analysis is: This guy (unlike Glitch-Trap in that one Security Breach trailer) actually compliments his.. uh.. teammates? Workmates? ..Just realized that the relationship dynamic between the Salvage Gang doesn’t have an official term. Bummer.

That aside, it’s genuinely interesting that he doesn’t diss them at all. You think he would given his reputation, but no. He just has this twisted sense of “oh wow they’re so cool”.

…Come to think of it, has he directly dissed somebody in the games specifically? I’m not even sure if the “Deceptive Calling” monologue or the AR Springtrap lines count. AR Springtrap tends to boast about himself more than put the player down and Scraptrap was having an ‘I’m smarter than that lol” moment.

If I’m right, then I think I may have found a proper difference between a pretend Mimic Afton and the real one. Huh.

“How can I resist a promise such as this?”

Getting back to the main topic, we’ve got a return for the snake hiss and the emphasis on certain words. Also, add another point to “I can hear the smile”— Except it’s more of a smug grin than a bizarre, wide-eyed look of wonder.

Not sure what that promise is post-jumpscare, but I do know that this has a chance to play during the office sections. So the promise is either Henry’s lure or seeing his son Mike one last time. I dunno, dude, it’s all vague to me.

”That was easier than I thought it would be…”

AKA The line that makes me wonder “Dude, you good?”

No seriously. The quick halt in-between the second and third word. The sudden choke that happens at the end. Like his voice just properly broke for the first time in ages. The overall somberness of it all. There is literally no smile here and I’ve checked. There may even be tears starting to well up, but I obviously can’t be sure.

It’s even implied that he thought he’d had a tougher time fighting the owner! He actually assumed he wouldn’t win this easily!

Something about this feels.. unnerving. He’s not supposed to sound this upset. At least, not usually. So what, pray tell, is going on with this voice line?? Why was this the take Scott used??

“You may not recognize me at first, but I assure you: It’s still me”

Well, that’s one more point for the “I can hear the smile” board. Also, I believe this is confirmation of that ‘Springtrap switched suits after FNAF 3’ theory? That’s what it sounds like, at least?

But, hey, at least Scrap-Trap is canonically aware of the sudden shift in appearance. Let’s hope his potential FNAF World 2 version isn’t as nervous about it as I assume FNAF 6 him would be… If he had access to the internet, of course.

Also, for the one person who may or may not care about this: He’s using contractions here. I think it’s been established that he only uses these at certain times, but I can’t remember where exactly I read that analysis. Anyway, he’s unafraid about “slipping up” at this point.

One more thing…

Compared to AR Springtrap, Scraptrap is much more.. casual in tone, if that’s the best way to put it. Much more low energy, though his antics are anything but.

Like, yes, he’s still coming for you if you keep letting ads play on your computer. But maybe he’ll let you live for a few seconds longer just so you could turn the ad off? He’s not in a rush, as far as I can tell.

Maybe that’s another reason why my brain jumps to Scraptrap more than Springtrap. If he wasn’t tied to this “attacking the guard” business, he could probably chill for a second and give advice on paperwork. Wouldn’t last for long, of course, but at least one could potentially die knowing that you drank coffee with a much more business-savvy Spring Bonnie… Grungy though he looks. Springtrap, on the other hand, wouldn’t give you the time of day.

TL;DR:

PJ Heywood put more nuance into this guy than even I was expecting. Big round of applause, genuinely.

We just stood there for a while.. holding each other. I don’t know why my heart was beating so fast. It felt like the world around had just completely faded away and it was just us. It was a healing moment for the both of us, and i just know we were both gonna over think it.

I think it only dawned on me the next day that Jungwon actually hugged and talked to me. My brain was in shambles still trying to comprehend the situation. I saw a message notification from Ni-ki around the time i had gotten home last night but i was too tired to check it then. I felt kind of nervous opening it.

Ni-ki was never good with words. Always brushing his problems off as nothing important, hiding his feelings and or just being quiet. We all knew that about him, of course, but we also knew that one day his built up anger, sadness and frustrations would rain down on us. I guess yesterday was just Jungwon’s turn to face the storm.

I had missed the guys, a lot. I never knew if i was gonna see them again but ever since i came back, even it had only been two weeks, i felt so much more complete. The next few days we would be together from dawn till dusk. I had become inseparable from them, again. I felt like my younger self once more, running around, playing, picking flowers and sitting at that same wooden bench every night. All our initials were still carved on the side of it, slowly rotting away with time.. and although i told myself to just enjoy the moment, i couldn’t help but fear the same fate for us..

Every time we hung out we were always laughing and joking around, but there was always this strange tension between me and Jungwon. We hadn’t talked about the night where we had hugged and cried in each other’s arms, but i thought it best that i don’t mention it in front of the others. I wanted to talk to him about it but i never had the right opportunity to be alone with him..

Despite that, everyone and everything was going well. I even saw Heeseung from time to time but he was always in a rush to get somewhere.. busy person stuff i guess. (He even said so himself..) Apparently he has a girlfriend now? That would explain his disappearance from our lives, and it didn’t bother us. We were never very close to begin with, but never passed the chance to hang out, no one ever did. That was our friendship dynamic with the famous Lee Heeseung.

Summer actually felt like summer for once..

Ni-ki had invited me and the guys for a sleepover at his place. The idea seemed too fun to not go so i quickly packed a random pair of pajamas and all my night time routine things, stuffing all of it in an old tote bag. Grandma completely trusted all those boys so she had no problem letting me go.

I speed walk to Ni-ki’s place, my legs tiring only after a few minutes.. His place had this heavy, rusty, loud metal front gate that opened to his front yard. Jungwon and Jake were sitting on the couch playing some random video game and Jay was in the kitchen cooking. Ni-ki’s house hadn’t changed much looking at it at first glance, only some furniture having been moved around. His mom still kept all our old drawings on the walls in small plastic frames with all our names underneath, it was a cute inside joke we had. I decide to join Jay in the kitchen, the intoxicating fumes of what he was making filling my nostrils.

(y/n): “what you makin~?”

(J): “just some ramen.. you like tteok right?”

(y/n): “mhm! you’re putting tteok in this?”

(J): “yea.. some fish cake too.”

I gently clap my hands together, excited to eat the masterpiece Jay was cooking. I squeeze him tight with a feeling of gratitude before going back to the living room and sitting on the soft leather couch. For a while me, Jake, Jungwon and Ni-ki have a few laughs together before Jay calls all of us to the table to eat.

(J): “KIDS COME EAT!!” he yells in a joking tone.

(N-K): “Jay this looks fire.” he says as we all approach the dining table, drooling at the sight of food. Ni-ki sniffs the pot, his eyes rolling back in awe of how delicious it already smelled.

Jay serves all of our food in cute ceramic bowls with fruits painted on them. Ni-ki’s mom loved us like her own to be honest. She loved buying bowls and cups for her decorate with each of our initials and favorite fruits or animals on it. Even though she only spoke Japanese, we all loved her as well.

We all dig in and finish our servings within minutes. I guess everyone was starved..? As everyone puts their bowl in the sink, i decide to wash the dishes, since i knew how much those lazy asses hated doing them. As i soap up all the bowls and heavy metal pot, i feel a presence behind me. I turn around to see Jake, he walks up to me and rests his elbows on the counter, tilting his head.

(y/n): “what is it, Jake?”

(JK): “just.. wondering something..”

(y/n): “come on, tell me.”

(JK): “why aren’t you and Jungwon, you know.. dating?” i choked on my own spit as i heard the question.

(y/n): “i don’t see him like that.. i doubt he stills looks at me that way too..”

(JK): “i know you haven’t been back long but you should see how he looks at you. Actual hearts come out of his eyes and he smiles so hard it looks like his dimples are gonna make holes in his face.” i laugh at his comment, slowly shaking my head.

(y/n): “don’t joke about that.. We’re just friends..” I finish rinsing off all the dishes and put them in the dishwasher.

The dishwasher was always used as a drying rack and never an actual dishwasher.. (is it just an asian thing..?) Jake shrugs and nudges me playfully, giving me a mischievous grin before leaving the kitchen to join the guys in the living room again.

The rest of the night was fun but my mind kept wandering back to what Jake had told me.. I went to bed feeling puzzled. It didn’t help that Jungwon was sleeping next to me. He looked so peaceful and calm.. I slap myself to look away from his handsome face and to go to sleep, but i didn’t get a blink of it. Why was i so focused on something that was clearly a joke? Was it not a joke? Did Jake know something? My brain just didn’t wanna give me a break the whole night. The next morning, i got up pretty early, eating breakfast and grabbing my stuff to get home. I think i just couldn’t stay in that house a moment longer.. My heart was pounding in my chest and i felt a sense of pressure and nervousness as I waved goodbye to the guys who were awake, finally rushing out the front door.

It was about 5 or 6 pm, when i heard a buzz from my phone. I was in the small town market with grandma to buy some things for dinner. I pull my phone out from my back jeans pocket, trying to see who or what the reason of the buzz. As soon as i did, my phone started to ring, it was Jungwon. My heart stopped for a second, trying to compose myself as i pick up, my voice was sorta shaky but i tried to act nonchalant (failing miserably..)

(y/n): “what is it?”

(JW): “well hello to you too, rude.” he scoffs with a slight laugh. “you home?”

(y/n): “I’m out with grandma, why?”

(JW): “I wanna talk, but not over the phone. Can you meet me at the park? At the willow tree?”

(y/n): “Won, i can’t abandon my grandma in town..”

(JW): “please y/n.. it’ll be worth your while.. i promise.”

(y/n): “fine fine.. I’ll be there in 5.”

We hang up the phone call and i sneak away from my grandma, slowly slipping out of the crowd of old people fighting over vegetables and tea bags..

I make my way to the park, practically running towards it. My mind was wondering about what Jungwon wanted to talk to me about, i felt stressed and sort of nauseous thinking about it, was about that night he cried? Or the sleepover? Maybe..? No, i shouldn’t kid myself. I approach the tree, out of breath and fixing my hair.

(JW): “you’re a minute late..” he teases.

(y/n): “shut up.. my gran doesn’t know im gone right now.. make it quick..” I was still trying to catch my breath as i look at him with a sort of frustrated look.

(JW): “i wanna show you something..” He takes my hand in his, and starts speed walking towards some random lavender field. It belonged to a grumpy old farmer who hated when kids invaded his property so i was getting even more nervous at this point.

(y/n): “Jungwon! We can’t go in there! That old fuck is gonna kill us if we get caught..”

(JW): “Then we just don’t get caught.” He smirks at himself as he jumps over the short wood fence, ushering me to jump too.

It was end of July, meaning lavender was at its prime time of the season. It was in full bloom and the smell was so strong it could stain your clothes for a whole week. Jungwon and i quietly start to make our way to the other side of the field. I had never been so far since that hot tempered grandpa would always catch me and shoo me off, throwing his stinky old slippers at me.

We jump the fence again, ending up on the most beautiful place on earth. It was a hill that had all sorts of flowers and butterflies that flew all around them. The smell of lavender still strong enough to know i was still in the same place and not dreaming. The view was beautiful and the pink and purple sunset tied it all together.

(JW): “I wanted to talk to you, here.. I always wanted to bring you, but never got the chance..” his grip on my hands tightening as he scoots himself closer to me.

(y/n): “this is.. beautiful.. how do you know about this place?” I turn my head from the beautiful scenery to see his face only inches away from mine. “um.. what are you-” I was quickly cut off by a soft kiss. His hands found my waist, pulling me closer.

(JW): “i always wanted to do that..” he whispers against my lips. Our foreheads were almost touching and we looked deep into each other’s eyes. There was this burning desire inside of his that made me bite my tongue and swallow hard.

(y/n): “w-what.. what are you talking about.. why’d you..” i couldn’t find the words.. i was just in pure shock.

(JW): “you’re so blind.. no wonder you have wear glasses..” he laughs softly as he pulls a little further away from my face to look at me better. “Don’t act so shocked.. isn’t your childhood crush kissing you a good thing?” He smirked at me, his cute dimples coming out as his hands made their way to my lower back.

(y/n): “WHAT? MY CRUSH? where’d you get that..?”

(JW): “I always knew you liked me back..” He chuckles again, pulling me closer as he leans in for another kiss.

(y/n): “WAIT..!” i block his face away with the palm of my hand, keeping him at bay. “What the hell are you talking about..?”

(JW): “y/n, i know you lied the night you left, about how you never wanted to see my face again, were those the words?” he moves my hand away, making me look at the smug look on his face. “Your grandma showed me your room the day just after you left.. She pulled out this pink box with a bow from under your bed. There was my name on it.. I opened it and there was all the things i had given you, ever. Also a bunch of our polaroid pictures together with drawn on hearts around my face..” He starts laughing softly, seeing the blush on my face become intense.

(y/n): “um.. you know that night i was really emotional. I never meant that.. and i have no idea what box you’re talking about..” I look away from his face, trying to look at something else to calm my racing heart.

Jungwon scoffs with a gentle laugh again, he lets me go momentarily to pull out his phone from his back pocket. He grabs my chin to make me look at his phone case. It was a clear case with a polaroid picture stuck behind it. It was one of my 10th birthday. I was eating a huge piece of cake and Jungwon had frosting all over his face, both of us were laughing in the picture and we looked so cute and innocent.. i was too busy analyzing it to realize the heart that was drawn around his face.

(JW): “so you don’t remember drawing that cute little pink heart on this? or all the others i have in my room?”

I was too stunned to speak. Did he really keep all of them in his room? My face was heating up intensely as the boy in front of me looked at me with a cheeky grin and put his phone back into his back pocket. That’s when it hit me.

The night i left i was so angry and upset about everything that i had packed so recklessly that i left a lot of stuff behind, and that pink box being apart of the stuff… I was in such a fit of rage that i refused to talk to anyone and told all my friends that i never wanted to see their faces ever again.. Thinking about it now, of course it was immature and stupid, but I was a naive twelve year old who was madly inlove with her best friend, who had confessed to liking her only a few hours before she had to leave. Can you blame me for being a little emotional?

(JW): “so.. are you gonna admit it or am i gonna have to keep kissing you until you say it yourself?” He smiles at me, waiting for an answer.

(y/n): “i might need a bit more convincing..” i smirk as he leans in again. His soft lips pressing against mine as he holds me tight.

(JW): “you know i love you, right?” he whispers between kisses.

(y/n): “you know i love you too.”

That moment i knew one thing for certain. Yang Jungwon would always have a place in my heart. I know we’re only two teenagers who know absolutely nothing about love but who cares? He was finally in my arms again, and this time, I wouldn’t let him go.

bob: pre-maria, bob was quite the flirt! thats not to say he was successful in scoring dates, though. if anything, it'd be so obvious that he's trying so ridiculously hard to rizz a girl up that he'd be rejected on the spot every single time. (his go-to was the lightskin stare. he may have gotten slapped for it one too many times). stuff like that, however, never got him down. he's a bit of an optimist and keeps flirting with one lady after the next. eduardo has warned his brothers not to get to personally attached to a lady love, and at the start, bob has no qualms following that rule. he's just a guy wanting to have some fun. he's not insensitive, however. he's well mannered and wouldnt ever dare to overstep a woman's boundaries. unfortunately, he's still remains a fuckass goof, which in turn makes the women he converses with think he's being a pervert. his brothers like to tease him about his failed attempts every chance they get. bob talks big about having game, but rly all he's got are losses. sometimes, they'll even take bets! manuel would suggest that maybe bob will get lucky "this time around." eduardo, on the other hand, would merely mention how bob should just cut his losses. post-maria, bob is less pretentious and egotistical in regards to interacting with a pretty lady, or actually ANY lady in general. his love for maria runs deep, so there's no way he'd flirt with anyone that's not her. instead, he's polite! a total sweetheart just minding his own business. he's been a sweetheart all this time and maria's helped open that part of him even further. of course, in involving himself with someone that personally, he's disobeyed eduardo's rule. eduardo disapproves of his brother's romance with maria. strongly so! there comes a point where he slightly threatens bob to let go of his relationship, but it's not like bob would actually listen. it's useless talking sense to him when it comes to this, so all eduardo can really do is just constantly keep warning bob on how this is not good for either of the love birds. he outwardly makes his disapproval clear. always. manuel, on the other hand, doesn't seem to pay much mind to bob's relationship predicament and seems pretty supportive. he figures bob deserves a little good in his life, and if he's found someone to love, well, how can he refuse his own brother's happiness? (after all, maybe falling in love with maria might even change bob for the better...)

manuel: the most indifferent of the bunch. he's too busy chasing after his own highs to even think about women. it wouldn't ever occur to him to pursue a woman, he's just not cut out for that kind of stuff. he can recognize an attractive woman, but he'd much prefer to just chill and have a good time hanging with them. lamentably, first impressions with him go terribly wrong, so that kind of stuff would never really happen. people keep thinking he's just some crazy that has zero grip on reality! if anything, he ends up scaring the poor lady off. his brothers don't really tease him much about it, maybe a bit on the fact that he's never woo'd anyone, but they wouldn't linger too much on the subject. manuel often finds himself playing along with their teasing, opting to say that there's still time for him and joking that nobody could handle him as he ever so proudly gestures to himself. at the end of the day though, the brothers are very well aware that they are to remain single and eduardo bears a strong faith in manuel in that regard.

eduardo: oh, he's a complete MESS. growing up, he's taken on the role of looking after his brothers p seriously. he claims he's got no time for women, that they should all stay focused on what's what, and that he actually couldn't care less about a lady at all. but nah, don't fall for all that bull (with the exception of the "being focused" part), he's a wreck. he's just terrible with women! all women. he clams up, gets flustered as all hell, freezes on the spot, and then he books it with a beating hyperactive heart. him? alone with a woman? TALKING? no way! not him!! bob and manuel love putting him on the spot, and they love it even more when they see their dear grumpy older brother dash towards the nearest alleyway as soon as the lady opens her mouth to speak. he loves to joke about bob's poor game with the ladies, but when his own brothers turn the tables on him? he's such a sour puss and puts up an act. unfortunately for him, his brothers see right through it. when he's on the job and the situation requires him to interact with a woman, he's dead set on pulling through and hides it pretty well. his heart is beating a million times a minute, but duty calls and he's fixed on pulling through. this does not spare him from the teasing after the job is done though 😭

hmm well i don't like them romantically. when it comes to the yuukei quartet ships I'd put them at the bottom 💔 mostly cuz i just dont ship haruka with anyone other than takane (but for some reason i pass takane around like a blunt) and also it means a lot to me that the reason haruka recognizes he loves takane is bc he defines shintaro as a friend but feels sad putting takane in the same category bc of the different feelings she entails.

aside from the forced in "im gonna become a cop" bit I've always had makoto resonate with me a lot going back Years to the other times I've played but never Finished p5. just her entire vibe of feeling like a burden to those around her & making rash decisions to try and proof them wrong on top of her having to really learn to let herself rely on others instead of pushing them away whenever she has a problem all just really Hits Different for me

truly i love em all though genuinely a delightful cast of characters especially once royal came out and actually like. let the cast be friends with each other lmao

joker: love this guy, think it's so funny that he simply can't meet someone and not have them a month later be like "so you're a phantom thief right" because they mentioned a problem person in their lives who then mysteriously changes their ways

futuba: very VERY closely behind makoto for me as favorite. as someone who has spent her entire life dealing with several anxiety disorders who has also made a LOT of big progress with those over the last few years her arc really did hit so close to home for me. im eternally gonna be such a fan of how her change of heart didnt immediately Fix her and instead more gave her the chance to fix Herself because its simply so real to how recovery actually goes. shes also just so Weird and silly that you cant help but love her in such a younger sister kind of way, which on that exact note her sibling style relationship with joker on top of her arc of really learning to see sojiro as her father ? incredible. cried when when she first called him dad.

haru: im only really just now getting to fully experience her because my first time playing p5 stopped at the end of her introduction and other playthroughts before meeting her, but i gotta say shes so NOT the character i was expecting but in a good way. love that shes kind of fucked up. she loves to kill. love that she has a Big Axe. love that she's otherwise very sweet & she gels so well with the rest of the thieves that you forget how late she joins

OK SO...i flipflop all the time on what i want the ''official'' aar/ro lore to look like... aaron working at waystar is more fun plot wise? but like...he would never be hired. he would never be qualified nor would he want to be. man graduated art school w a degree in painting and then just started working as a line cook. he can barely do math. but the coworker dynamic is SO FUN...AU perhaps

i think the more Real and True answer is it that they have to meet by chance somewhere. like roman chillin at a bar (like that scene in the finale oughh....) and like, aaron is there cruising bc of course he is. and he strikes up a convo w roman. they have Excellent banter, hit it off well, incredibly cringefail attempted hookup ensues, aaron is like' ??? what was that this guy is so weird lol' but still texts him afterwards anyway...

FIRST IMPRESSIONS R FUN. aaron wouldnt recognize roman as a public figure IMO (i couldnt pick the son of the guy who runs fox news out of a lineup of rich looking dudes TBH.) he'd be able to tell he was rich by the watch and the whole getup but would probably just think he's a decently wealthy rando? certainly wouldn't assume he's got a 5 bil net worth...not that aaron's gold digging bc he is instantly charmed by romans silliness and wit. (and his stupid handsome face. WHATEVER)

roman has no clue what to make of aaron at first glance other than he's Tall, Hot and he's covered in tattoos. aaron's super cocky and really quick to match roman's energy. i think he'd be a little bit intimidated but right in that roman sweetspot where he is scared but definitely also into it.

also thoinking rlly hard abt this one...i dont think roman could conceivably confess first (although i think he catches real feelings first...that is another question though). it would kind of have to be aaron. they're both pretty avoidant tho. and it definitely would involve shenanigans...the slowest slowburn of all time where they both deny anything other than physical attraction despite the fact that they like. text every day and go on 'dates' and literally dont shut up abt eachother. perhaps a drunken confession later retracted and then un-retracted. theyre just dumb and pine over eachother for a long time when they could just date the only obstacles r just mutual stupidity (and roman's internalized homophobia and whole family situation BUT thats different.)

The two's relationship is kinda funny actually lol, it started as a joke as all things does with my fucking ocs lol

Hagi doesn't like Fishsticks, like, at all, and to better understand why I'll talk a little about Fishsticks

He started out as a villain in the story, he is more of an antagonist now? But isn't a full blown villain, but he still does a lot the same as before. He's bad, no doubt about it, his mindset is of that "as long as I am honest about my intentions, it isn't my fault if people decide to take on the offer"

He is honest with his work, he doesn't lie to get people working for him, brutally honest guy

He knows his work isn't good work, but it's honest work, he is a very respected man on his buisness, especially since he is willing to show mercy and care more for his workers than other bosses, which makes him attractive to work with, but just because he treats em better doesn't mean he's always a good boss either, he shows favouritism and isn't shy about it either, he still talks bad about some of them and isn't scared to show his disappointment, he doesn't punish them though, unless they try to conspire against each other or him.

He roped in Skipper in his lowest moment, he had been chasing the boy since they met and took the opportunity he was abandoned and alone to recruit him, he treated him better than his other boss after all, and he doesn't seem to notice that he took a liking to the boy a little more than he bargened for until much later.

Since the two first met, Hagi took a dislike de him, they were married and divorced the first second they met XD

They have this dynamic of annoyed X flirtatious, Fishsticks is head over heals for Hagi and loooooves to annoy him ever chance he gets and Hagi has never hated a man more (that's a lie, he hates Skipper's first boss more), he kinda begrudgingly hangs out with Fishsticks for his son, they do grow fonder over time, but he still doesn't like the work Fishsticks does, but has come around to help his lackies after a rough work day when he is called upon (being a doctor and all and the buisness they do putting them at risk if going to a public hospital)

Fishsticks recruit those in need, taking advantage of their vulnerable state, but Hagi can't deny he's also done good working considering how poor the Splatlands are and many needing work, Fishsticks determination to change the system and all, even through not so... favourable means

He's not good, but he's not bad either

As for Skipper and his friends, well, i think you already know Cherry, her being the first he met since she was working with their old boss way before he joined, she helped him a lot

The other two, El he met after Cherry "died", having been fond of their music, after they suddenly stopped producing music, with Skipper publishing a goodbye song visibly lacking his band mate, he went searching for answers. Now I don't know if he goes to Cherry or Skipper first, but I'm leaning on the idea that he met up with Skipper first, asking for him to start his band again and that he's willing to do Cherry's part, he refuses saying that no one can replace her. Some time later he finds Cherry and tells her she knows where Skipper is and reunites them, at that point he's willing to drop the band idea, but to his surprise they start up again and invite him in

He offers them protection and to help keep their anonymity being a very popular hacker in the underground community

Ame, she is found when they were looking for a drummer, no one auditioned except her, but because she was still a child they refused since they didn't want her getting involved in their work, but she persists and eventually they let her in, especially since she is good on the drums, it's inevitable she gets involved but they do their work to keep her as safe as possible

How they realised they had feelings? Honestly it keeps changing depending on what sad romance song I'm listening to XD

But for the most part, I'm pretty sure it's Skipper who does first, breaking their friendship once it starts getting a little too close after he realised that in his line of work, he'd get hurt, but he still longs for him, noticible in the type of song he writes

He still wishes for Emperor to love him regardless, he's created this version of him in his head that if Emperor knew the type of work he did, found out of what he has done, he'd leave him, he doesn't want to face that reality and leaves before any heartbreak on both ends

But Emperor chases him regardless, especially after finding out how much he truly loved the guy

But I also like the idea that Emepror loved first, and when he found out what Skipper does he is mad and they have a huge fight, making Skipper's worst fear come true and he leaves

After a while Emperor tries to forget him, they cross paths a lot, unknowing to him, and eventually get tangled up together and are forced to help each other out, still feeling bitter, but after a while, they actually talk it out and realise they still love each other, Skipper tries to part ways again once Emperor got hurt, but Emperor keeps chasing him regardless

Idk, I really like enemies to lovers and I've been trying to do that with them but it's a little hard, what I wrote is prone to change a lot, I'll be honest, I wish I had a little help with it but my friend that usually does help me with this stuff knows nothing bout splatoon lore and the manga, so it's a little hard-

And now for how he was like before? Well, he was still a very violent little thing XD he worked hard to be where he is now, my personal interpretation of splatoon is that females are the dominant species (which they are btw! It is stated several times by devs that the girls are stronger lol and even irl, female octo are the dominant ones, idk bout squids tho) as we can see being that there are only female octolings fighting

Of course there are exceptions, as we see with DJ Octavio, but I feel they have to work a lot harder to be in those positions

Which is the case for Skipper, for him to be a seaweed octoling at such a young age, he was basically a prodigy! And he loved it! He loves the adrenaline that comes with working as a soldier, he loves being seen as strong and doesn't like it when it is implied otherwise

Massive ego, but also pretty caring towards those he cares about, he wasn't afraid to show affection or show that he cared (which you can see isn't the case anymore as his old boss made him believe that showing he cared was a weakness, showing he cared for Cherry got her killed after all, and he already had some hesitancy as he had lost people he cared for, he was scared to get close again), he was pretty curious too and loved to learn about people's anatomy thanks to his dad being a doctor, as well as plants and sometimes alchemy, which led to him later be known as the guy with poison

He didn't change all that much besides being weary and depressed and having major PTSD lmao, personality wise, it's still mostly intact, he still likes to look and dress the way he does and still loves music

HAHA OK OK LETS ANSWER THIS IM SO EXCITED reason im late to answering is bcs i was waiting to properly sit down n type out all my thoughts. im so excited. well firstly i hope u like madarame or u prob wont like my thoughts abt him i love him vvvvv much hes my fav sd guy n my second fav route!

tldr i love madarame for his hot looksand voice, his unserious funny nature his genuine care for towa and honest straightforward personality. i jsut rly love him a lot. my man !!!!

macccc hi. hi hi <3 ik u don’t watch qsmp but i wanna cry in ur inbox for a second. we got. fucked up sibling dynamics. it happened. cellbit had a twin sister named bagi and he went missing and was thrown into a war and she searched for him endlessly. his first memory is standing over a dead body and having to eat it to survive. bagi is slowly recovering her own memories and is desperate for him to remember her. he keeps pushing her away bc he can’t fathom that he had a LIFE and a FAMILY and people who CARED about him. he thought he came from war but he came from love and didn’t even know it. bagi became a cop just so she could try to break him out of prison but she never got the chance bc he broke out first and she lost him again. she spent fifteen years looking for him and he spent fifteen years trying to survive. they’re both devastated over this in different ways. this always happens with media i get into it always comes back around to messed up siblings i’m going to start eating the floorboards. the strider bros the plant twins ccrimeboys. this is my brother and i need a shovel to love him. you can get a new son or a father but who can grow me a new brother. yk. just gonna lay here and cry for a minute brb

man i really thought the dynamic of the three leads in oasis would be somewhat similar to the three leads in chicago typewriter or my country. well at least that's what the first few eps seemed to be going for

but it became just one of those many annoying kdrama love triangles bcs of the 2nd lead. idek where the plot is going atp

i still like the drama tho. cuz im a sucker for angst no matter how frustrating it gets. and i dont rlly mind where the plot goes. i just wish the three leads maintained their unbreakable bond no matter how complicated their circumstances turn out

like with the 2nd male leads in chicago typewriter and my country, as frustrating as it may be, i still understood why they had to make the choices they made. i wouldnt defend them but i get them. i loooove the 2nd lead in chicago typewriter no matter what and the three leads are still among my top fav kdrama trios. i hated the 2nd lead in my country but i get why he had to turn to the bad side. like theres an actual depth in his characterization

but with cheolwoong its rlly just immaturity, jealousy, and insecurity.

hes still the same highschool boy who would come home crying bcs doohak ranked 1st on top of the whole class. the same boy who was competing "fair and square" to win the heart of their highschool crush. the same boy who would make other ppl do the dirty work for him cuz hes a pretentious coward

the way he is so ready to throw away his lifelong brotherhood with doohak for his highschool crush who he knew for a few yrs and who never even led him on to make him think he has any chance with her

the doohak who he called his hyung his entire life. the doohak who did everything he told him to until highschool. the doohak who would fight his fights. the doohak who /involuntarily/ went to prison for a crime HE COMMITTED just bcs he begged him to tho he knew it would ruin doohaks life. like id be so ashamed to even show up in front of him. if he asks for something, id do it right away without considering it as a payment for my debt cuz nothing could make up for what doohak had to go through bcs of me

not to mention doohak also singlehandedly saved him (again... for the nth time) against that group of college students without any help from anyone

he couldnt even make up his mind if he wishes to save or betray doohak like how he remained neutral with the student activists vs gov thing in his college days. like if ure gonna be the bad guy, just be the bad guy and let me hate u entirely

like u can tell he still cares for doohak (reason why i thought theyd have this unbreakable brotherhood even when they act like enemies in front of eo but theyd come running to save eo when needed to cuz they know deep down they love eo like the male leads in the 2 dramas i mentioned above) but i guess he doesnt care for him enough to let him be happy after all those years of suffering (which he caused)

doohaks friendship with his gang members is even more precious than theirs. like i would trust any of the gang members with doohaks life but not cheolwoong

also the lack of self awareness??? he always brings up doohaks flaws when hes actually way worse

anyway i hope the writers dont give him redemption arc just for the sake of giving everyone a good ending. i want him miserable and i want to hate him until the end. when he finds out the truth abt his birth, i want him IN SEVERE PAIN. i want him to be so ashamed to even go near doohak. on top of that, i want jungshin cutting him off her life for good and giving him the same disgusted face she gave doohak when she found out hes part of a gang. I WANT HIM SUFFERING

and give doohak and jungshin their happy ending ffs! they literally just want a peaceful life together without all these makjang drama. theyve been through soooo much since they were young and until now. enough is enough

(or who knows lol hi karma <3) this anon has been looking into getting into orv but keeps procrastinating like they do on many other things and so asks you, one of their resident orv likers they know, to uh. idk. but feel free to ramble on about why you like orv so much & why someone should get into it (like me!) so maybe i can finally be convinced to read it Now instead of putting it off for later again and again !! ... or something like that 🥺✨

OK GUYS THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT A DRILLLLL AAAAA HELLO U BEAUTIFUL PERSON I THINK IK WHO U ARE BUT RN I'M SO READY TO CRUSH U IN A BIG HUG REGARDLESS OF THAT

ahem. yes. anyways. i'm totally normal abt this, i totally didn't go feral for a few moments before i started typing this. OK BUT I'M SO READY TO TRY TO CONVINCE U TO READ THIS CUZ WHEN I SAY THIS WEBTOON + WEBNOVEL HAS CHANGED ME ENTIRELY. pls bear with me, giving me a chance to word vomit was not a good idea /hj. i'll put everything under the cut :] and i'll try to keep everything as spoilerless as possible so that u can safely enjoy the story when u get to it

i will apologise in advance for the person i've become, this might end up becoming a HUGE post (edit: i think it did, this is apparently at a lil more than 2k words rn cuz i typed this in google docs for fear of tumblr nuking my entire draft and me having to start all over again)

tldr for those who don't want to go through a 2k essay; orv is for you if you enjoy clean art, stories that will break down your initial expectations and surpass them, and things like found family, love (all kinds), and just an emotional rollercoaster in general. prepare snacks and tissues.

i'll start with the webtoon because that's where it started for me! honestly one of the things i look for most when i start a webtoon is the art. and there are times when even if i like the story, if the art ain't it for me, i'll drop the story 😭💀 but orv has such beautiful and crisp art, very edible art HAHAHA (both webtoon and novel by the way but i'll get to the novel in a bit) it makes me go so O.O sometimes. here's an example of the art, you might've seen it somewhere but i'm still adding it here for the pure beauty of these men named kim dokja and yoo joonghyuk AND ALSO han sooyoung and jung heewon (yes i'm gay, no it's not obvious /j). every character in this webtoon is so well drawn and just. chef's kiss okay, so if you like pretty art, you've got that right here folks.

moving on, the story seems, at first, like a very generic action fantasy webtoon where the world of a novel becomes reality and our mc aka kim dokja is the one who knows how to get to the end and he gets to meet his favourite novel’s protagonist yoo joonghyuk and decides to save the world. but as the story progresses on and on, it becomes so much more than that. the storytelling skills have to be applauded because webtoons can't use lots of words and have to convey things more concisely than their novel counterparts but they've done an amazing job of using the right dialogues in the right places with the right amount of impact. AND as of right now, the story is starting to head towards what i'd like to say is the actual beginning of this webtoon >:) that’s all i can say without spoiling some major things from the novel so,, yeah!

another beautiful part is the portrayal of each of the characters, especially kdj, and their different dynamics with kdj. now kim dokja is our mc and the main narrator of this entire thing so we’re quite limited in that sense because all we see and know is what kim dokja tells us through his narration. a lot of posts have accurately pinned him down as an unreliable narrator because he really only ever shows his companions (and us readers) one part of things and we’re all left to speculate about things. each companion holds a different opinion of kdj but all of them are united in the fact that they trust him to help them get through everything. while the webtoon hasn’t had a chance to explore that yet, i’m looking forward to how they will show it to us :] i’d say that this webtoon is worth a read also because kim dokja is the most mind boggling, intriguing and frustrating character you will ever meet. that’s a fact that’ll get clearer as you get closer to the recent chapters of the webtoon, but i love how he’s relatable in the sense that he both makes me screech in awe but also makes me want to wring his neck with how he is sometimes. i love him *holds him by the neck* (affectionately). oh and when i say every character is just a beautiful piece of art, i mean both their literal art and also the way they’ve been written, though it is more clear in the novel as of right now.

NOW i’m gonna move onto the webnovel because i honestly fell deeper into the rabbit hole purely because of the novel. and sing shong (the author of the webnovel) is an absolute genius for the way they have both intricately and simply pushed a single message throughout the length of the novel. i constantly joke about how reading the orv novel has changed my brain chemistry but i’m not joking most of the time because it really did. in many ways, i’m sure this is a novel i will remember for a very long time to come.

the same points i spoke about for the webtoon stand for the novel as well BUT of course the novel is just immaculately written and it deserves a chance of its own. it’s not that the writing of the novel is extraordinarily fancy or anything, it’s actually quite simple reading without too many complicated words but i think that has a beauty of its own. it’s able to convey what it needs to without having 10 pages of description and that’s awesome to me. there are issues with some things written in the novel but as it isn’t a focus or the point of orv (i got this point from this tumblr post, feel free to read through it if you want to because they have written some great points that can’t be said better by me!), it’s still a novel that entertains you to the fullest.

the characters are admittedly more fleshed out in the novel than the webtoon but that’s because the webtoon is still catching up while the novel is complete (it ended with epilogue chapters but recently the author came out with side stories). the relationships are just very detailed and it gives you a look into not only kim dokja’s head, but also yoo joonghyuk and other characters’ heads as well, though they’re not as common because the majority of the story is in kdj’s point of view. i’ve neglected mentioning other character names so far but kim dokja has a set of the most loyal and sweet and sometimes feral companions besides yoo joonghyuk like yoo sangah, who is someone kdj knew before the novel became their world, jung heewon and lee hyunsung, kdj’s trusty sword and shield, lee gilyoung and shin yoosung, his children (not biological but yes). there’s also lee jihye, an avid yoo joonghyuk follower who insults kdj at every turn but cares for him, and han sooyoung, who is portrayed as a bit of an antagonist or an anti-hero (as far as the webtoon goes anyway wink wink). and a lot of other characters you’ll grow to either love a lot or hate with a passion oR even have your opinion take a whole 180 about as you read on and on, that’s just the kinda novel this is.

don’t even get me started on the underlying themes of this novel. this is me being an english major (and psychology major unintentionally, double major woohoo) through and through but i love analysing characters and figuring out themes that come out through the writing. i won’t go too into the details so that i won’t spoil it for anyone who happens upon this post. but there’s the overarching theme of love; not just romantic love but also platonic love, familial love and the most important one of this novel, self-love. another theme i think is quite relevant and important to this story is more easily relatable to people who read often because it goes into how books can change you BUT you can also change books by reading them over and over again and understanding it better. also how stories can save you but you, as a reader, have the power to save stories by reading them. because in the end, a story continues because you read it. OH I CAN’T FORGET THIS, found family <3 if you’re a fan of found family, this is for you, it’s present throughout the story as a small but encompassing theme.

now this could be just me but i get extremely emotional when it comes to my favourite media, so i squeal with joy at happy parts, sob uncontrollably when sad scenes come up, punch my pillows when something makes me mad⏤ you get my point. and this novel gave me an entire rollercoaster of emotions and made me so URGH in good, bad and ugly ways. it kinda brings me back to my point about kdj being an unreliable narrator since the reason why it gets so hard and sad is because this man never tells anyone anything. he takes it upon himself to do everything, much to the annoyance and despair of his companions and us the readers. we know nothing other than what kdj is willing to tell us, not about his plans, not about him, not about his own feelings. and we’re left to guess and guess until everything is laid bare and then we’re still trying to. process everything. yeah i don’t know if this part is making any sense but i can’t really go into detail without majorly spoiling the story. so you’re gonna have to come back to my post once you’re done to be like “ohhh, right this is what they meant.” /j

To move to a lighter and probably my last point, the novel illustrations are gold i tell you. it’s done by a person named blackbox or bb-nim for short and i love just going through their art for fun. of course, if you’re reading it on a website like i did, then you’re not going to see the illustrations side by side so you should definitely check out blackbox’s twitter which i’ve linked here :] you’ll probably also find their art on pinterest. gorgeous art i tell you, BUT BUT BUT there are spoilers here and there so beware if you go digging through their media tab on their twt. I’ll put some of my favourite pieces that are as non-spoiler as possible under this

so. yeah. these are my reasons for why you should read both the orv webtoon and novel. In the end, all i can say is that if you give them a chance, you’ll probably get hooked just as i did. i knew to a certain extent about how the novel was but nothing prepared me enough but i’m not complaining because it is genuinely so good. i’ll add a list of content warnings here that i got from the wiki page because i don’t want anyone to be ambushed by anything they’re not comfortable with reading: graphic violence, death and murder, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, suicide, body horror, dissociation, transphobia (this might be a deal breaker and it would be for me too as a nonbinary person but it’s not a major focus and happens a couple times throughout the story), cephalopods, tentacles (yes these are real content warnings on the wiki HAHAHA), and finally hospitals.
