#like first of all the ideal situation is that someone gets at all flexible w/Their approach to more match mine. i.e. gets in on the bit
Text
another nd realization like i’m always going “it’s better when there’s an Ensemble Comedy & no ‘relatable’ audience standins or fixed Straight (comedically) Roles imo like why do we Need the back and forth where someone’s clearly doing the sillier / more spontaneous / Not Ordinary thing & someone else is just weirdly flatly Pointing Out like ‘hey...This isn’t normal’ or otherwise issuing Bemused Reactions questioning How this makes sense or Why it’s happening” like not only does it make everything less funny to me imo but i’m like why would you even like, react like that, even in a clearly fictional scripted situation why would it seem Normal for someone to just like insistently react Only in this way or act like they cannot function in this situation / they simply can’t wrap their heads around it
i find it all the more exasperating irl lol and then like ah right i mean i Guess nt people can learn how to be funny, man, but also like got it, it’s also clearly another manifestation of like dealing with The Brick Wall of [this is The social approach & if that’s not what other people are playing at you truly cannot adapt at all to their routine (except Maybe to recognize Goofarounding & only react by laughing / being the Audience)] in the way that you know, it’s like wow autistic people are so rigid & inflexible (as autistic ppl mask all the time / have to try to learn how to best accommodate any/all allistic individuals they interact with; & allistic ppl react to talking to an autistic person with kneejerk assumptions that’ll never be changed, hostility, &/or disinterest / rejection / exclusion, & think that their individual social approach is the sole correct one that they’ll never be changing, thanks) & oh autistic ppl lack Theory Of Mind & are never realizing that someone’s mind doesn’t work the exact same way as theirs (while autistic people Know there’s this lack of alignment from experience, vs allistic people unknowingly misinterpreting shit through their own lens & assuming their “oh this person Must have meant xyz by abc behavior” is immutably correct & never that they might be wrong abt this other person’s thoughts/feelings/intentions actually, and even if Knowing someone’s autistic & thus having some concept that they operate differently it’s like oh so it’s a Lesser version of how I operate then? & they should learn how to think like me? right)
anyways it’s also like obviously getting some more control over your situation if you’re being “weird” in a way people have a framework for like ohh a Joke, i see lmao, various reasons people might try to be The Funny One and/or just like connecting / communicating via humor & having a capacity to do Unusual things on purpose, since they also already exist weirdly / wrongly anyways, and the various reasons they might be seen that way.......like why do i find it irritating to like do anything silly & get the [i am being the straight person here] response of either essentially pointing out it’s Weird / not how things usually work! or Only laughing is like, yeah i already knew it’s b/c like cmon someone get in on the Bit, is the hope here, what was the point if that ball’s completely dropped. like i’m seeing it as a way to have an Exchange, not have a monologue moment (although if i Am monologuing it’s gonna be theatrical / trying to be humorous/entertaining while i am) or so like, not Just this one sided moment, it was an invitation to that Exchange with a clearer setup like, here’s how you can operate at All closer to [on my terms] than like, an nd style group convo which doesn’t really work great lmfao, like being Funny = not small talk, not only/mostly Listening, not getting distracted anyways thinking abt xyz or Knowing if i talk in earnest abt info i have it’s like oh well that’s too much if it’s an interest, that’s also too much if it’s like relevant trivia/fun facts, etc etc. and of course that your being Odd is more resented if you’re just hanging out / trying to participate the way other people are, vs like ohh they’re odd in the good, at all deliberately funny way, that’s more acceptable lol
and like the [smh]ocity of getting along more easily w/people sometimes if they’re at all drunk b/c ppl will get more vivacious / spontaneous like well woe to you but that’s just my usual shit wherein like, the other side of that is someone like oh those antics you were engaging in?? were you drunk lmao??? like no, no i was being myself & engaging my Personality. live a little. you gotta learn how to be funny, man
or at Least just learn to roll with it or god forbid Only have the “lmao” response to other people being spontaneous / silly / responding to something in a way you don’t find Makes Sense / wouldn’t be Your train of thought
this is very much most directly inspired by that text post reblog chain about the dna & someone copy pasting a genome & the other person is like awhat........why would you.......huh..........how..........who........... and the other person explains it like yep a little bit nonsequiturry but the connection is clear & everyone was already joking around, makes sense. with the Other belabored “but............Why” & the final “eh” like i think it’s funny in that i think the copy / paste dna sequence side is fun but i find the Other like “wha??? why????” side Exhausting lmfao, or let’s say, tiresome. but it makes me go “oh yeah, back to the concept of [the Normal One who goes Wha Why Omg] in comedy scenes that i find tiresome & impeding the humor, i guess that just is how plenty of people would react lol” still think it’s unnecessary just full ensemble comedy, anyone can play off of another character or play Against them, we don’t need the person throwing up their hands & looking at the camera quite that hard
#another Uno Reverse comedic difference i realized is the Wordplay thing#i like linguistics & i think it's usually fun & i Love puns lol. love to make them & hear them & the more Involved / deliberately awkward#or say deliberately ''overwrought'' they are the funnier i think it is. i Accept that apparently some people are not amused / truly dislike#it but i sure don't Get that reaction#but there's that other style of Wordplay that's like. kind of tongue twisters i guess? and ppl seem to like it & i'm like oh i hate that lol#like ok That i also find tiresome & unfunny & truly overwrought in an entirely uninteresting way to me. i guess that's [puns] to others lol#you gotta learn how to be funny man..............#like i'm aware me just Being Myself and doing unmasked ''weird'' spontaneous things could itself be seen as funny#(i mean of course see ''winston quant billions likely inadvertent autistic character also mostly to entirely a Joke in the material'')#which is unsurprising. like exaggerated Weirdo side characters in a clear comedic role like idk that's very close to Simply A Moodeth#or it is sometimes anyways lol and yknow s/o i think to comedy for making plenty of shit Explorable in ways that'd be like oh that's simply#too heavy if it was straightforward / dramatic....#anyways like i can also play into it being like ''yes i'm goofin around / being zany On Purpose in ways i know ppl will recognize as a bit''#but it can still be like well hey come on now >:/ depending on the degree ppl are like oh lmfao Howw Absurrdd#like first of all the ideal situation is that someone gets at all flexible w/Their approach to more match mine. i.e. gets in on the bit#second of all it's not gonna be all That absurd lol. i resent that#anyways sometimes Being Funny(tm) is like a masking compromise lmfao or like. my Most Successful mode when interacting w/ppl sometimes is#like well i'm not being Silly exactly but i am engaging w/my own vivacity & theatricality & chattiness & being a bit humorous throughout#it works well enough in shorter bursts & if i'm at all comfortable enough in the first place. & if the other person's similarly inclined lol#otherwise w/o this like Extra Layer of [ok doing this particular performance style] it's like yep still masking but just not really engaging#as often while still trying to operate on other people's terms or what have you & as ever; you're not really liked or accepted necessarily..

May I request a matchup please? I’m a straight female, in my early twenties. I’m a Hufflepuff and proud! I’ve got shoulder length brown/blonde hair, and green eyes they tend to shift in color with what I wear. I’m a rather soft spoken individual, and I’ve been told my voice is rather soothing. (1)
As for my personality, I’m a typical introvert. Shy when you meet me, but I’ll come out of my shell pretty quickly. Especially when I’m around people you genuinely want to get to know me. When I get excited about things I rush through what I’m saying and stumble over my words. I’m incredibly easy to fluster! And I can’t take a compliment to save my life! I get flustered when my family compliment me, so forget a stranger. You’d see me shine like a beacon from space.(2) I’m most comfortable with family and close friends, but I don’t mind meeting knew people. I just kinda have to be forced into it. I love reading all kinds of things, but I do think fanfics tend to be some of my favorites! I love seeing how authors take cannon and flip it on it’s head! I’ve also been known to mildly( completely) obsess over my favorite fandoms. I love cooking and I adore kids! ( I’m a nanny ) I love the outdoors. (3)  Long walks on old road, open fields, and getting lost( figuratively) in the forests are some of my favorite things to do! I love all sorts of water! And most water related sports. I have horrendous balance generally, but you can’t through me off in I’m water. I think that’s about it. I hope you’re having a lovely morning/day/night! ❤️
Hiii  ❤️❤️
thank you for sendin in a request!! I hope you like the result! ✨✨✨
hmmm okay so for you I had Leviathan, Satan and Simeon on my mind. (though I think you and Barbatos would get along so well too! like you don’t share interests so the connection wouldn’t be based on that, but that doesn’t mean it would be bad, it’s just a different dynamic.) ok so this was a bit of a hard decision, you didn’t really mention anything about your ideal partner / dynamic and tbh that would have a great influence on who to pick for you. but i accept a challenge 😤
okay so after some thinking i decided to match you with Satan!
ok so i’m not big into HP & the lore but as far as i know hufflepuffs are super kind and love animals and helping others. so Satan might seem like a little bit of an odd candidate but opposites attract right? i think deep down he just adores and respects how you can be sweet and helpful to others even if you’re not their friend. he might try and take advantage of that at first (not judging but he is a demon yk) but here is the thing. as a nanny you are probably really patient and nurturing with a sense of morality. which means you’re probably a decent choice for some spiritual guidance which he seeks sm! so there you go, see how easy it was to win him over! all that just by keep being yourself!
in addition i think he’d prefer an introverted partner as in canon he likes a partner who minds their own business sometimes, even if they are in the same room. which is fine!
your soothing voice affecting him when he is going through with issues regarding his sin or an identity crisis... this could be made into a one-shot..
ok so two introverts is a couple who never argues about the destination or the type of a date!
though be prepared for some social interactions and situations as Asmo is the closest brother to him, so yeah . though Satan himself would never force you into social situations, in fact you’d have each other as an excuse to ditch Asmo’s great party idea
hmm he is probably going to be a tease about complimenting you, though he isn’t just giving away those on the regular. so you know when he compliments you he actually means it so it’s even more frustrating.. but come on girl, consider self worth😤 it’s time to put on that crown👸
okay so you say you like to read in your free time, but tbh as i already mentioned in the introduction, even if you don’t share the exact same interests with someone it can be an amazing relationship. i mean, in his case it’s not that much of a difference - as he is a major bibliophile - besides genre and fandoms. but what i’m saying is that it’s nothing that he couldn’t get behind. he’d probably recommend some of his favourites and vica versa! also i think he’d do his best to listen to you talk about whatever is on your mind at a time. he just love spending time observing you, your gestures and listening to your voice is really just something else to him!!
ok so since you’re a hufflepuff and according to my knowledge you love animals it’s also great as that means you’ll help him take care of strays when needed, even if you might have to be sneaky about it sometimes
Oh he loves going on adventures sm too!! he’d def recommend some rare sightings around the Devildom to show you and watch together! dw about danger he’s strong enough to protecc when needed!
the fact that you are mature enough to cook with / for him is also a big green flag in his case! though most of the time it would be you two doing it together like in an equal, well-balanced, healthy relationship. (you’d only do it alone in case you wanted to suprise him w/ his fav food) he’d make sure his schdule is always free / flexible enough to do such chores with you!
obviously he’s not as much into water as his older brother, who you’d also get along with and be best friends with without Satan trying to sabotage it which is again, a major green flag. (the other way around it might be a bit more complicated as Levi gets jealous more easily, while Satan is mostly fine within reason & as long as you ignore Lucifer - but even then he wouldn’t be upset at you, but him)
also if you support romantic relationships based on being best friends then he’s also a decent choice!!

hii !! i was wondering if you were still doing the valentines day headcanon’s thing cus i’d love to see a babe heffron one 🥺💖 if you aren’t its alright !! i hope you’re having a great day
valentines day alphabet  ( accepting! )
Tumblr media
A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?
He’s so casual with it, to the point of being downright thoughtless. Babe hands out his affection in bright grins, loud laughter, soaking up personal space...  but he’s also a very intent, reactive listener. He’s excellent at engaging people. When Babe approves of someone, he doesn’t keep it to himself; his affection is vocal, physical, and uninhibited.
B   :   BOUQUET.   does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?
He doesn’t know the first thing about flowers, but will fumble his way through a florist’s shop for a good cause. Should he be allowed to is the real question  ---  Babe trying to grow things is downright hazardous.
C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?
He’s literally summoned by the word ‘chocolate’. Get one syllable out, and he’s there. Babe doesn’t have a favorite, he doesn’t need a favorite, he’s just a chocolate fiend.
D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?
Is it cliche to say bowling? Because lowkey...  Babe’s a really, really great bowler. He shouldn’t be as good as he is. He doesn’t even like bowling that much, it’s just a talent, okay? And he does like showing off. Aside from that...  he’d love to go out dancing. Babe’s also a great dancer (notice he wants to impress his partner so bad that he’s only choosing things he’s good at) and will throw down any time, any day.
E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?
An impulsive hugger, usually without warning, and absolutely not shy about it. Tight, enthusiastic embraces, with a bit more squeezing than necessary. Sometimes gets really into cuddling, if someone’s offering it up.
F   :   FLIRT.   is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?
He...  doesn’t flirt, to be honest. Doesn’t know how. Doesn’t realize when people are doing it to him. He’s just Babe, loud and enthusiastic and kind of goofy, with a definite charm to him; that seems to draw people in. Babe has the most success winning a date when he doesn’t try.
G   :   GIFT.   is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?
He gives weird-ass gifts, man. Things people would never need, and certainly don’t want. He bought Spina a whole keyboard once  ---  do you think Spina knows how to play the goddamn keyboard? He bought Bill Guarnere a Starbucks gift card. Babe always tries to get good gifts, but then he spots something and immediately settles upon it being the perfect gift; from then on, nothing can talk him out of it.
H   :   HEART.   is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?
Very quick, and not usually that cautious about it. Babe’s impulsive, and doesn’t always think things through when it comes to how things can go wrong. He trusts his instincts...  and if his instincts tell him to love someone, he’s got no choice. Acquires crushes very easily, and they tend to stick.
I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?
Super easy? Why shouldn’t it be easy? It’s the truth, right? (He’s so casual about it, literally does not overthink it whatsoever  ---  throws out “I love you”s on any occasion, at any time, including while he’s on the toilet or just managed to burn dinner.)
J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?
Again, Babe and jealousy just really don’t tango. He’s not a suspicious person. He doesn’t...  notice things. Doesn’t notice flirting when he’s being flirted with, and doesn’t notice it when his partner’s on the recieving end. He just assumes everyone is being friendly until proven otherwise, and it’s a dangerous habit.
K   :   KISS.   is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?
Needs to slow down. He gets very into it very quickly  —  and the more enthusiastic Babe gets, the clumsier he gets. He’s an adventurous kisser, eager to explore so long as his partner will let him; better with his tongue than you’d expect; has a tendency to laugh into his kisses, which almost ruins the mood, but he manages to salvage it with a well-placed kiss behind the ear or on the temple. Has exactly no finesse, but a lot of enthusiasm. Babe’s big thing is touch, so he has to have his hands on his partner  —   preferably braced against their chest, squeezing lightly, as a way to keep himself focused while he works.
L   :   LOVE.   who does your muse love?
Oh god, where to begin? He loves his Ma and Pop to hell and back, adores his brothers and sister, loves all his extended family (and there are a lot of Heffrons), would throw down for any of his friends, is close with plenty of coworkers...  Babe lets people in easily, and ends up loving more than he ought to.
M   :   MOONLIGHT.   is morning or night a more romantic setting?
Eughh. Very much not a morning person, and would never subject a partner to romance before 10am.
N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?
He gets so excited that he literally ends up falling over himself; has had a few near-death experiences, where his partner has pressed forwards while kissing him and he’s just...  tumbled the hell over. Onto the floor. But Babe’s versatile (not to mention flexible)  and can have sex anywhere if the situation calls for it. Extremely adventurous  ---  not just location-wise, but up to try most positions and most kinks, if given the right amount of persuasion. Aside from the clumsiness, Babe has an innate rhythm instead, lots of stamina, and is able to match his partner’s pace. he gets overstimulated easily, and runs out of breath if they push him too hard  ---  but the bright red flush to his face isn’t a sign of an impending stroke, it means he’s loving it. Babe’s also vocal; he can’t help it, rambling about how amazing his partner is and moaning in between each thrust is just how he keeps himself anchored a little bit, otherwise his brain would steam right out his ears.
O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?
He’s no poet, that’s for sure. Babe sometimes gets ahead of himself and stumbles over his words, especially when he’s excited  ---   but just get him pissed off. You’ve never heard someone tell another person of in such a crisp, clear, cutting tone.
P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?
Babe wants someone he can have fun with. Somebody who appreciates his sense of humor, even if they don’t always respond in kind. Someone...  with a lot of love to give. Genuinely, he’s not picky. Babe could do well in a relationship with pretty much anyone, but he prefers someone who values honesty; he’d thrive with a grounding force to his sometimes-frenetic energy, but overall, Babe just needs someone he can play off of.
Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?
He’ll be nervous as hell in the lead-up, and the ring will be burning a hole in his pocket, but he’ll ask. He’ll try, at least. This is Babe, walking human disaster on a good day. Trust him to drop the ring in a storm gutter as soon as he gets on one knee, then get his arm stuck trying to reach for it. The firefighters who come to pry him out have to propose for him.
R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?
He could try to be cynical and still wouldn’t manage it. Babe’s a romantic to his core... and even if it doesn’t always come out in conventional ways (like clearing the potato chip crumbs off the couch before his partner sits, or leaving a trail of quarters on the floor to their bedroom)  he's always got a knack for making things special.
S   :   SWEETHEART.   did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?
Yeah. Mary Anna Giarratano. Her parents barely spoke English, the entire family had less than twenty bucks to their name, and Dolores was the hardest soccer ball kicker on the whole playground. In one afternoon, she sent a ball flying so far it landed in a tree and punched Jimmy Doherty for making fun of Babe’s haircut. Babe fell in love. (Dolores didn’t want the first thing to do with him, but the infatuation lasted for a year or two.)
T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?
It’s not something he’s thought a lot about, but he’s never doubted it. Of course true love exists. Some people stay together and happy for their whole lives. If that ain’t true love, what is?  (At the moment, he’s unwilling to admit to himself how much he wants that kind of love.)
U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?
...  romantically? Nah, he’s still unbroken. Let’s just say he wasn’t sobbing over Darlin’ Doris.
V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?
...  it’s expensive. Like, why are chocolate boxes so expensive? Why do restaurants literally expect you to pay more on Valentine’s day, just for the same food you’d always get? And why the hell does jewelry cost so much? Babe doesn’t mind Valentine’s day, but hates how commercialized (read: pricey) it is. His ideal V-Day is doing something intimate but totally free. He... can think of a few ideas.
W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?
He’s very daunted by the idea at first, because he just...  doesn’t feel old enough to get married? Doesn’t feel ready? I could see Babe waiting a good few years to get married, and even then, he’d have to be in a long-term relationship for a while. He’s not afraid of spending the rest of his life with the person he loves  ---  it’s just the concept of marriage itself, how serious people take it, that intimidates him. (He’s of the mindset that two people truly in love shouldn’t have to put a legal ring on it, but...  hey, he’ll still do it, just to make his partner  (and Ma) happy.)
X   :   XOXO.   does your muse use / like pet names?
Not that often. He tends to just go with straight names or surnames  ---  he’s not a big nicknamer out loud, but will sometimes give someone a name in his head that sticks, especially if he doesn’t catch their name the first time.
Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?
Definitely. Sometimes he’s too quick to jump at the gun  ---  hey, he sees somebody stepping in on someone he loves, he’s not gonna stop to ask questions, and it’s gotten him in trouble a few times  ---  but his heart’s in the right place. Babe is a fierce defender of his loved ones, and he can give as good with his mouth as he can with his fists.
Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?
...  okay, listen.  It’s something he’s genuinely defensive of, because it ain’t like he’s a virgin, okay? He’s...  slept with people. Once or twice. He’s doing fine. Babe’s problem isn’t sleeping with people, but keeping them afterwards...  which is really what he prefers. He’s not a hook-up guy, but up to this point, he’s never really been a steady relationship guy either. He wants to, and he tries, just hasn’t managed it yet. So...  he’s slept with 2 - 3 people, max. If asked, he’ll talk himself up and claim it’s more. Only Bill knows the truth.

@liminalchaos sent in questions for me about saori and rori dearing.
What specifically drew Saori to the Envoys? Was there a particular event that made her side with/wholeheartedly support the Uprising? She's met Quell and the other, so which of the Envoys does she like best/what sort of people generally does she enjoy interacting with?
send character development questions and / or memes for my latest altered carbon based original character’s RORI or SAORI (if you send things not on anon i will happily send things back in return)! because i need more characters like i need a rabid chinchilla.
Well, as it actually happens, I headcanon that Quell (or more specifically, another of the Envoys, initially) approached Saori in an attempt to recruit her about five or six years before the events of the Battle of Stronghold.  Saori was young, but in a position of influence as the daughter of the Lt. Gov. of Harlan’s World and she has an easily expressed intelligence and passion for doing what she can to help the people around her through charities, fundraisers, hands on work in the cities that aren’t as kept up and in general was very open and warm and trusting, and in turn, tends to be seen as trustworthy:  all in all she checks off a lot of the boxes of the kind of informants and assets that someone in Quell’s position would need access to.  It probably would have taken a few months of handling before Quell would have finally approached her (or whomever in her stead) to sit down and actually work through the spiel – I think that it is very likely that Quell handled as many of these meetings / one on one sessions as possible, since she was very hands on, very charismatic and knew how to read people, how to assess them, better than pretty much anyone else there so, that’s my default but; for anyone that writes Quell that wants to interact and is not comfortable with that, it’s totally fine, I can run with it being another Envoy no problem if needed.
Saori would be incredibly attracted to the idea of being able to help people, to help with a movement that is spearheaded by such a powerful, intelligent woman, with the intent of making sure that the inequality that already exists in the world is kept from getting any worse, and maybe even, in the end, making it less than where it started.  She is painfully aware of class divides and the haves and the have nots; she knows she’s lucky to have never fallen into the latter category and she has seen just how hard it can be to get out of the former, especially when no one seems willing to actually help.
And … as she moves through the tiers of her father’s office, as she becomes more involved with the behind the scenes of the political schemes and gets read in more and more on the Protectorate’s dealings …. and then hears the stories / sees the evidence of what the Protectorate and CTAC officers do to their enemies (which let me tell you, things like the Geneva convention and basic human morality does not apply – the kind of tactics that they mention in the show and the kind of torture that Takeshi endures at the hands of Dimi are miniscule to what happens with the Protectorate armies and interrogations and breaking rebel leaders / cracking informants and spies okay there are no limitations to what they’ll do, in virtual or in the real to secure their targets and succeed in their goals) – when she realizes that these are the people that are supposed to be protecting the known worlds, when she realizes that the U.N. is slipping more and more into puppet mode and less into actually trying …. it’s just very overwhelming and alarming to her.   She doesn’t see that she has any choice but to help, in any way that she can.  And the sad part is, even if you assume that Quell made a habit of enticing people with what they needed to hear to get them as allies, everything that was said / that influenced Saori’s decision was utter truth, just ones she hadn’t seen before.
Well, I think, hands down, without a doubt, Quellcrist is her favorite.  In one verse, I have a ship with Saori and Quell, but even taking an actualized romantic or physical relationship out of it, Saori is 100% there for everything that Quell needs from her or wants her to do because Quell is just such a powerful and empowering force.  Quell is intelligent beyond even the kind of intellectuals that Saori is accustomed to, and she is an incredibly smart woman who was raised around powerful military and political figures and was taught from day one that muscles were fine and all but your brain (stack) was literally the only thing you could ever be guaranteed to have with you so you best know how to use it.  Academic pursuits were highly encouraged and rewarded, so – she absolutely finds that a necessity in a leader and an admirable trait in anyone.
Quell is brave (maybe foolhardy sometimes) and very good at reading people, very good at analyzing assets and determining the best solution for the most people, or the best way to accomplish something with the least effort, or damage, or whatever the end goal is, and the way she thinks is flexible and mutable and she adapts so quickly to her situation and surroundings.  She is just everything that Saori could ever imagine wanting to be, and so much more than Saori would ever imagine herself capable of, and that’s not just talking physical feats, strength, combat, etc.  The way that Quell teaches other to expand their senses and their control of self and the world around them, how to become so much more in tune with themselves and the world around them, how to manipulate virtual and take every advantage – it’s sharp and it’s brutal but it’s what has to be done, and Quell is willing to make those sacrifices, do what needs to be done to help the world around her, to make things better, to keep things from declining more than they already have –
And yes.  Some of this is colored by admiration / hero worship / love, even if it’s never spoken of or acted on – and yes, idealism definitely plays a lot into the extremes to which Quell’s positive traits are amplified but… Saori would probably literally do anything that was asked of her by Quell, she believes in Quell and Quell’s purpose that strongly.  Now.  This is based on the perception that while interactions w/ Quell happen, and semi regularly, in her canon, they are kept in the general line of - Quell and her asset; Quell continuing to control the situation and circumstance.  If / when I get the chance to write Saori with Quell’s on an individual basis, some of this may change.
It’s easy to thing something is shiny and beautiful from afar, it’s also easy to not see the flaws in something when it’s lit up brightly; when Saori has the opportunity to get to know Quell on a more personal level, some of the shine and lustre will probably fade – still present but less Shining Goddess and something at least closer to human and Real.  I doubt that in any verse / storyline Saori would ever not follow Quell – I think she would always be loyal and in awe to varying degrees, but I think there is definitely the possibility for some tension or drama, depending on the verse or the intensity / level of the relationship, as some of the inner workings of Quell’s mind come to light, as truths about the past and plans for the future are uncovered.  Relating the Heroine to the Reality can be painful, but I think that in the end, regardless of the nature of the relationship, Saori would only come out the other side of facing the reality versus the imagined aspects of Quell with all the more loyalty and fierceness.
Honestly, Saori is just genuinely impressed and cares for, at least in some degree, everyone at Stronghold.  How brave they are, the risks they take, the lives they live.  She’s slightly envious of them at times, especially the Envoys, but she knows she’s better used where she is w/ her position in her father’s offices.  She has an incredible fondness and weakness for the children - she always brings candies, toys, blankets, clothes, puzzles, books, literally anything she can get her hands on to bring out to them. (Fortunately she also does charity work with an orphanages / care centers so she can usually just buy in bulk and tuck part of whatever she’s got away to bring to Stronghold when she can.)  She takes some of them out to hunt with her, from time to time, teaches them how to use a bow and arrow, how to set traps, how to skin and dress the catch, things like that.  There are probably a number of the adults that she considers herself good friends with and does her best to catch up and bring small luxuries for when she can, news and information from home worlds or favorite sports teams, or music or whatever else they might not have access to at Stronghold.
She really just tries to bridge the gap as much as she can.  As far as what kind of people she generally likes to hang out with or befriend honestly, before the Battle of Stronghold, she is so open and warm and inviting?  She tries her best not to pre-judge.  She tries to be friendly and give everyone a second chance for a first impression.  She wants to see the best in people.  She does tend to make longer lasting friendships, on a deeper level, with people that are intelligent, that have a sense of humor – compassion and inner strength are definitely bonuses, but she is honestly just as likely to befriend the curmudgeons and the irritable smartass just as equally.

elaina ! :)
lays down, mai ily. anyways?? someone pls save elaina she Needs help
What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?fairly long?? but not super long it’d make her anxious. maybe twenty minutes. it’d be a different story if it was a life or death thing tho obv
How easy is it for your character to laugh?difficult. from one to ten w one being v easily she’s like a 7. but for full uninhibited laughter it’s a solid 9. she mostly smiles and when she does laugh it’s at the dumbest things
How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)she’ll lurk on instagram or think which are honestly both bad ideas for her bc instagram makes her depressed bc her social life sux and thinking makes her depressed bc she’s pessimistic and tends to overthink EVERYTHINg. however sometimes she’ll be smart abt it and read a book or look at plant pics or space which will more often than not successfully allow her to relax and get some shut eye
How easy is it to earn their trust?HM not too difficult prbly a 3 if ur nice to her and ur not a complete idiot- ok well. just if ur nice to her bc she literally falls in love w josie an idiot in her storyline
How easy is it to earn their mistrust?moderately difficult she has a hard time accepting that the ppl she trusts are capable of wronging her and usually assumes it was smth she did. she’s kind of an idiot like that so yk :) she’s prbly a 6 on that one? if we’re also accounting for the ppl she moderately trusts. however if we’re only talking abt the ppl she genuinely completely trusts it’s like an 8. she’s not COMPLETELy stupid but still p stupid abt relationships
Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?rules should be followed. she accepts them as a given and that they will be followed as a given. it’ll srsly throw off her game if someone starts blatantly disobeying the law in front of her even if it is just a nominal thing
What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?she’s not a v emotional person? she does feel deeply but hmm i suppose she is fairly nostalgic. certain melodies played on the guitar would prbly be one of the bigger triggers. her mom used to play and she and her dad would sing like dorks but they?? kind of dont do it anymore and she misses it but she isn’t sure how to ask to do it again. it’s the same w disney movies. they don’t watch them as a fam as much as they used to anymore but they still do on occasion! as for enjoying it she doesn’t rlly like nostalgia?? but she lets herself fall into it frequently
What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?she was constantly told to talk to the other kids. she’s never been v social or good w ppl as she prefers her small group of ppl she knows and is comfortable w plus she’s an only child so she’s always been forced to socialize esp in casual settings
Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?not super frequently. she does say damn bc that’s just the classic xstj swear word, her first she remembers v distinctly. it was “bitch” and completely her older cousin’s fault
What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?she lowkey feels like her entire life is a lie? she’s a smart gal and gets good grades easily. she’s close to the top of her class and is considered one of the smart kids. but she herself is convinced she’s painfully mediocre and despite her other talents and unique personality traits she’s like :) im sorry for lying to u all i actually have zero interesting qualities and am a drag but ofc she never voices that bc lbr insecurity? ugly and she doesn’t want to lose the few friends she does have bc she dumped her fears on everyone else. she is, as i said, a Mess
How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?she almost always pretends she understands but if she doesn’t feel like there’ll be negative consequences to asking for clarification and she’s feeling confident she’ll bluntly ask the other person to clear things up for her esp in a business type setting such as school projects, etc. it’s situational but socially speaking? she’ll pretend until she Dies
How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?ask nico to get it or just struggle for ages to try to get it herself
What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?she likes green and black but thinks she looks p drab in most things. in all actuality she prbly does look sharpest in black but yellow makes her look super cute, brings out a softer side of her. dark green is also flattering on her
What animal do they fear most?hm prbly eels esp electric eels. they freak her out for no particular reason. otherwise, she likes most animals and doesn’t mind most bugs
How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?she does usually think before she speaks. on the extreme she’ll turn over a phrase abt ten times in her mind before even considering speaking it aloud but that’s rare and only in high stress situations. despite the fact that she does think before she speaks she’s very blunt abt most things. lay it out like it is and all. embellishing sentences or softening her statements is smth she rarely does as she finds it inefficient
What makes their stomach turn?reckless behavior she HATES when ppl do stupid risky crap in front of her she finds it very unnecessary and anxiety inducing
Are they easily embarrassed?oh yes absolutely
What embarrasses them?everything. anything. her existence. ppl flirting w her. her parents. being teased. being incompetent. being singled out for anything. lots of things :)
What is their favorite number?she likes the number 60. no reason in particular it’s just a nice number. cue her friend, nico in the back yelling SIXTY???? MORE LIKE SEXY
If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?oh oof dont talk to her about love it throws her for an existential crisis. hm but if srsly asked this she’d prbly say smth like “familial love is smth we’re rarely allowed to choose. platonic is more logical and circumstantial, and romantic is a combination of the two in the sense that it’s ur heart’s choice to begin and ur mind’s to continue.”
Why do they get up in the morning? society dictates that in order for an individual to contribute meaningfully to the world, you must get up by 7 am and do whatever lot’s been handed to you. thus she, as a good functioning member of society, gets up in the mornings and drives to school day in and day out as fate has dictated her duty to be
How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? erratic. she’ll act strangely and become more distant. if it continues for long enough she’ll eventually snap at whoever’s nearest and asking what’s up w her
How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? it makes her sad tbh sldkfjlkj she’s like welp.. this is the lot i’ve been given if i don’t accept it that’s my problem. then she keeps her head up and carries on
Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom? she prefers not to talk abt sex. she’d be v confused if someone brought up the topic of sex casually tho she isn’t SUPER squeamish abt discussing it it’s just?? unprofessional so why would u? ofc w her s/o she would be more than willing to discuss it in order to smooth out questions or misunderstandings before yk. actually. doing the sex
What are their thoughts on marriage? marriage to her is one of the pillars of society, and while she respects people who don’t want to get married, for herself she views it a checkbox on her list of things she needs to do before she dies. it’s?? like she sort of has a timeline and marriage is on the list of things that need to happen sometime in her twenties. she believes marriage should be a mutually beneficial union based on love and respect and believes that along w family units it’s a wonderful invention. however, despite all of this she kind of doubts she’ll ever get married bc she’s like who would date me lbr here :) and while simultaneously seeking after marriage she’s resigned herself to becoming an eventual crazy old cat lady
What is their preferred mode of transportation? she prefers bullet trains. efficient, usually comfortable, she doesn’t have to drive- what more could you want? she’s also fond of walking if a place is close by. helps her chill
What causes them to feel dread? the feeling that a relationship is falling apart and the divide between herself and the other person is growing. the little things like not waiting for the other person after class or “forgetting” to mention another thing about their day- the small things that point to a relationship breaking down. if there’s one thing she hates more than unnecessary conflict and having to just end things then and there it’s watching things slowly fall apart. that is extremely dread inducing in her opinion
Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? if u asked her? she’d say she prefers the truth. in reality? she prefers the lie. she internalizes things and oftentimes “unpleasant truths” can weigh her down for ages. frequently enough to note, she’ll allow herself to continue in ignorance rather than accept the reality of the truth which she’ll sort of know she’s doing but just push to the back of her mind in order to avoid the panic that comes with actually confronting the problem. ignorance is bliss and all. nevertheless, in the long run and in hindsight, she prefers the truth as ripping off the bandaid proves easier than pulling out misplaced stitches one by one
Do they usually live up to their own ideals? she doesn’t come close. she has very lofty ideals to which she holds both herself and others around her. she wants to be someone who’s looked up to as strong. she values efficiency, honesty, reliability and genuinely good motives as well as charisma, passion and confidence. she’s doing alright with the first few but the last three are debatable. she’s passionate about v select things and her confidence levels looks like a heartrate monitor
Who do they most regret meeting? herself. she regrets gaining sentience
Who are they the most glad to have met? josie ;) but nico and ale are close seconds
Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? nope what’s a Conversation? what’s a Joke? she doesnt know them :)
Could they be considered lazy? that’s a no. she works extremely hard and nearly always carries through. it’s partially her nature and partially a way for her to “make up” for her perceived lack of talents
How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? extremely difficult but w time she eventually can esp when given the right type of support
How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? that’s. a hard one. she IS technically supportive but that’s only when she recognizes how much the thing means to the other person and she’s honestly rlly bad at reading these kinds of situations, so it’s rare that she actually does. she’ll kinda be like wtf but if she doesn’t recognize the other person is genuinely excited and invested in the thing she’ll do her best to give her own brand of awkward support
Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?she’ll pursue a romantic interest if enough proof that it’s plausible is given but it’s rare that she gets enough “proof” for this to happen. generally speaking, she kind of pushes her desire for romance down. she’ll worry abt it later or at least until josie shows up eyes emoji
Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? not rlly? she’ll just go thru things multiple times she’s not the most innovative person when it comes to things like this. route memorization is her go to
What memory do they revisit the most often?;) depends on where in the storyline we’re talking but post story defo the time when she and josie went hiking w some of their other friends and when they reached the summit of the mountain the clouds were beneath the peak n completely coating the sky. it looked like a carpet of clouds, like another world and they shared a bit of a Moment. the little things are what elaina rlly cherishes
How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?difficult she’s a bit of a critical person. she’s also not the most tactful when it comes to emotional intelligence related situations so ppl will likely find out she does see those flaws in them if they stick around long enough
How sensitive are they to their own flaws?not SO much but she does take things to heart. she’s sort of?? accepted her perceived mediocrity and general dullness but she’s in no way ceasing to attempt to change other things abt herself. so she’ll seemingly take criticisms in stride but they’ll stick w her when she’s Overthinking
How do they feel about children? kids are? good? she likes kids. as for having them, she’s considered it some and she thinks she might like to. at the same time, she also thinks she’d make a terrible parent- too harsh, bad w comfort, easily stressed. in all reality, she’d be better than most ppl as one esp after gaining a bit of confidence
How badly do they want to reach their end goal? rn the goal is graduating and she wants that fairly badly but she doesn’t particularly doubt her ability to achieve it. after that, it’s getting a good job which she also doesn’t overtly doubt as a certainty so yes she does want it but it’s not?? SUPEr concerning except when she begins to doubt her abilities and if she’ll ever feel like her life is fulfilling
If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so? she’s lesbian. she’d say it means she’s attracted to women
QUESTIONS FOR CREATORS
A) Why are you excited about this character?baby. she’s gonna find loveB) What inspired you to create them?love, simon! i wanted to write a cute lesbian high school romance so thus josie and elaina were bornC) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?nope!D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?nope again! she used to be full korean but now she’s half korean and half scandinavian! i think she used to be taller too she’s 5′5″ nowE) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?there are some aspects of each other that would get on the other’s nerves. like i dont think she’d appreciate the wonky outbursts i sometimes have and i’d get annoyed by her lack of social tact/annoyance at the world even tho i lowkey share those traits but otherwise i think we’d get along p well! i think i’d find her cute and i think she’d like my perceived confidence. we share a similar rationality as wellF) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?empathy she’s a big mood tbh and also i want her to be happy G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?her lack of emotional intelligence. while i like blunt and logic oriented ppl it’d get slightly frustrating after a while to be around someone who’s a lil oblivious to social/emotional cues even if that’s a moodH) What trait do you admire most?her humble diligence. i have to complain twice as much as her to get half the things she gets done doneI) Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?i think she’d ALSO do great in a sci fi universe. ha maybe i need to give these kids a sci fi au verseJ) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?not rlly no!

EVENT 04 : good or evil, folks.... what’s it gonna be????
thoughts :
ur neighborhood pixie is definitely suffering a panic when everything starts going down, but trust me, she really does try her hardest to convince herself that this is what she wants
and welllllll.... it’s not, sorry not sorry — our lil disaster child is scared out of her mind, and she’s not sure she wants to suffer for people she barely knows.... u know, every monster for themselves out here :/
“haven’t i bled enough?”
a large part of her, like i said, is scared but also resentful of the fact that they expect her to stand her ground for them??? why should i??? what have they ever done for me??? basically: she likes to say people are good, but let’s be honest she’s a pessimist when it comes to ( human?? ) nature...
also aura is used to being punished pretty severely for her mistakes, so the minute metzger promises pain — she’s out, sorry fam
what about when she does leave?? well, of course she’s almost immediately relieved to remove herself from a stressful, panic-inducing situation but this fosters itself in a pretty unhealthy way??
by interacting with KANTA, she claims to be validated in abandoning everyone because her actions had a higher morality than cheshire’s??? but she’s forgetting that this was extremely selfish, and that her vices aren’t subjective?? so we’re fostering that self-serving trait of hers while also
shame.... lots of shame when the doors come down and the cryptids are being dragged out, she can’t even look them in the eye ( but why??? this is a new emotion for aura, and she’s going to struggle immensely with it throughout the event as an overarching theme, in tandem with general q’s of morality )
stay tuned for adventures in shame, regret, psychological torture, sneks, panic, inconsideration, repentance!!!! and many more!!!!!
timeline : open / closed plots
aura runs into [ OPEN PLOT ] just before shit hits the fan, and here she’s trying to hype herself up??? basically a huge shit post on metzger and the menagerie, so bitter friends — this is the plot for you!! maybe they’re giving aura a pep talk or maybe they’re planting those seeds of doubt... who knows??? this interaction will have an impact on aura throughout the plot, so she may find herself blaming your character for feeding her demons or become angry / relieved / etc?? with herself for not taking their advice to stand up for the cryptids
shit has hit the fan folks, and what better time for a reunion?? aura runs into NOAH, somewhat of a former friend, and she’s so relieved to see a familiar face that she gets very emotional??? she confides in him about her fears and ultimately, her decision to leave — and with his support, she can ease some of that anxiety and tension!!! poor bbies have suffered enough at the hands of other people, and aura won’t forget how he stood behind her, even in a decision that ends up being pretty problematic for everyone
well... nobody said she was mi:6 worthy.... ya girl has been caught!!! SHAHRZAD catches aura in the act as she’s trying to leave, but what do they do??? well, for starters — negotiation!! but when valiance fails and shazi feels aura slipping away, she’s willing to do what she needs to in order to hold this rebellion together, even if it means violence??? aura is deeply affected and hurt by this, ultimately slipping away with the use of teeny tiny pixie form!!!
see ya suckers!!!! pixie is homefree and it feels good??? but also, what’s this super negative emotion all of a sudden?? and cue KANTA, who kinda finds aura at her breaking point, very much torn and balancing between the point of regret and relief!! they talk through their decision to leave / not partake, and aura will use this convo to later condemn cheshire and defend her own actions... yikes!!! she’s convinced that at least she had a sense of loyalty where he has none, and she’ll exploit that to her benefit..... even if that’s wrong
la révolution est morte, sorry folks.... and as the doors of the train are being ripped from their hinges and the barricades are being broken down, LENNY is the first face aura sees!! and almost immediately the excuses she’s tried to hide behind fall away?? lenny’s one of the first people to reach out to aura when she arrives at the menagerie, and watching this sort of ideal vision of who she, herself, wants to be suddenly being dragged from the train really ignites this fury in the lil pixie?? she may have dodged punishment for the rebellion, but there’s gonna be hell to pay for the way she goes after the guards stupid enough to lay a hand on this selkie........
tent hopping time, ladies and gents!!! aura is gonna be moved around a lot in order for me to get in as many interactions as i can but first stop?? SOL of course!!! my actual mom will be talking with aura through her choice to leave and solidifying the validation in that decision she made to leave ( and not to her benefit either folks..... yikes!! ) — but aura ultimately decides that she... knows best... get it?? okay, whatever.... basically, our little pixie has opened her doors to pure destruction!!! but cue tent hop, no whispering allowed :/
ready to be roasted, aura??? CARTER is absolutely not here for aura’s shit, and he will not hesitate to yell at her for making an extremely stupid decision that has hurt everyone around her.... seriously he’s gonna chastise the hell out of her, buuuuuuutttt also while sympathizing a little bit with the fear she acted on — though, this interaction will mostly get that guilt cookin’ and encourage aura to understand selfishness as a vice, not a virtue ( even tho that’s like the total opposite of their dynamic lmao ) — annnnd another tent hop!!!
and just as redemption is on the horizon, OMARI and his beetle buds crash the party!!!!! aura feels comforted by seeing him again after shit has gone down, esp since she knows he stands behind her..... right???? noPE YOU THOUGHT WRONG!!! he’s gonna do a total 360 and guilt her imMENSELY for her decision to leave the train!! why would i do this?? because you told me to??? what do you mean no you didn’t?? what do you mean i’m a monster after all??? this thread is just going to be a general ouch :/
can i get a drumroll for the softest rabbit in the land??? time to hit up aura’s good ole pal THEO!!! right now, she’s kinda relapsing into panic, esp with the extremely negative emotions pushed on by omari, and so we’re falling back into justification territory!! so she looks to our white rabbit to support her in this ( uh oh!!! ) and in talking to herself so as to convince herself that she’s ultimately a good person even if she makes reallllly bad decisions, aura inadvertently corrupts poor theo with the idea that it’s perfectly okay to be self-serving..... whoops??? well.... u guys know what time it is....
mask on!!! MAL + aura have a run in, and here’s a chance for them to play off each other’s facades and convince themselves of their own self-image!!! aura falls deeper down the rabbit hole with this interaction, really latching on to this idea that it’s okay for her to be selfish because what’s wrong with a lil self-help??? yeah i hurt a bunch of other people..... who cares lol???? talk about an unhealthy dynamic... am i right or am i right???
u thought we could have nice things in this roleplay??? you thought wrONG!!! [ OPEN PLOT ] could seriously murder aura right now, and though she’s sitting on her high horse, they’re gonna knock her right back down again!!! how dare you??? what kind of cryptid are you?? maybe aura has indirectly put them or someone they care about in jeopardy, so feel free to bring on a roasting for the ages!!! or maybe just a general guilt?? your character is a total wreck and aura has to deal with the fact that she’s the one who caused that?? idk this plot is pretty open-ended, i just need to make aura a lil vulnerable again in time for...
the crown jewel of the night!!!!! aura kinda runs off, not prepared to be thrown in another tent with somebody who’s going to rake her across the coals or villainize her beyond the point she has already done herself??? but whoops, the guards are not about to deal w/ her shit and maybe she’s gonna get punished after all??? but nope!!! because in swoops actual angel EMME!!!! they hide out in em’s tent and talk over the night’s events before making it back to the train where.... oh shit, her train car is a total wreck??? aura is somewhat hysterical, trying to piece everything hopelessly back together as the guilt and shame and all these negative emotions really kick in; ultimately offering her train car up to emme to share until they can fix what’s been broken!!! and i end the night soft as hell for these two beans
and if you’re not really feeling these plots, don’t worry!!! i’m 100% flexible and i’ll do whatever i can to make sure i cater to anyone wanting to plot!!!
themes :
i will do this..... another time.......
general consensus :
mostly negative character regression..... but hey!! there’s at least some good stuff in there too????
update: new plots have pushed aura back onto the road to redemption!!!

Why do diabetics life shorter life spans http://online.anyflip.com/nezuy/eetd/mobile/index.html than non-diabetics? The answer is both simple and complicated. Simple in explaining in general terms, complicated in the medical sense. Without traveling the complicated route in this article, I will try to give a simple, straight forward answer to the above question. Diabetics live shorter lives than non-diabetics because of diabetic complications. Diabetic complications https://forum.joaoapps.com/index.php?members/koehnjuriya.84523/ are chronic medical conditions that begin to affect the body of the diabetic. These complications are brought about mostly by http://online.fliphtml5.com/qflpw/xmwg/#p=4 a condition the medical community had named, "Advanced Glycation End products" which is simply, "excess sugar" saturating the inside of the cells of the body. This condition also called AGE for short includes coronary artery disease, vascular disease, blindness, http://pubhtml5.com/homepage/sjih kidney disease, retinopathy (blindness) and loss of feeling in the hands and the feet (peripheral neuropathy) among others. Diabetes in the early stages does not produce http://www.freeadsciti.com/services/health-fitness/gluconormix-harga-1533274.htm symptoms. Unless found during a routine medical exam, it is possible for a diabetic to remain undiagnosed for years. It is during these years that the beginnings of diabetic complications can gain a foothold due excess sugar in the cells (AGE). The statistics show there is the possibility of as many as over 5 million people going about their normal lives https://www.pling.com/u/koehnjuriya/ while having undiagnosed diabetes. While the current consensus is that the formula https://www.expatriates.com/cls/44607636.html for diabetic complications Diabetes + Time = Complications. What this means is there is a much higher potential of a diabetic becoming diagnosed with one or more diabetic complications over time. This is partly due to how well the individual monitors and controls his/her blood sugar. Drastic rises and falls of blood sugar can be hard on the body and the excess sugar http://buzdubai.com/user/items present in the cells create havoc on the different nerves Hwithin the body as well as the capillarie https://www.tripadvisor.in/Profile/koehnjuriya s, veins, and arteries. The evidence to date show that excellent control of blood sugar and an active lifestyle goes a very long way in preventing and/or slowing down the onset of diabetic complications. There are two types of diabetes - Type One and Type Two. What to Do When You’re Locked Out
You’ve locked yourself out of your house. Now what?
A lockout can pose a serious problem, especially if you have pets and kids inside who need your help or dinner in the oven.
Thankfully, we’ve got a few options to get you back inside.
Steps to Take if You Get Locked Out of Your House
1. Ask for Help
2. Call a Locksmith
3. Look for Unlocked Windows or Doors
4. Improvise Tools
5. Take off the Door Knob
Option 1: Ask for Help
Call your partner, roommate, or anyone you live with to see if they can come home and let you in. It may be inconvenient for them, but you’ll spend less time stranded outside your house.
If you rent your place, try reaching out to your landlord. They will usually have a copy of your house key and may be close enough to unlock the door.
If you live in an apartment complex, stop by the manager’s office and ask for access to your unit. Have proof of identity on-hand alongside evidence that you do indeed live in the complex. But beware: many apartment complexes charge lockout fees if the staff has to help you get back inside.
Option 2: Call a Locksmith
Locksmiths aren’t the cheapest option, but calling a professional locksmith is a surefire way to get back into your home.
Lockout services can cost anywhere from $30 to $90 depending on your situation,1 but a residential locksmith is the best option in an emergency or bad weather. Whether you’re locked out of your house because you lost your keys or the key you have won’t turn, locksmiths are often on call 24/7 to help with home or vehicle lock-outs.
Check out Thumbtack to find locksmiths in your area.
Option 3: Look for Unlocked Windows or Doors
Unlocked windows and doors are invitations to invaders, but they can also get you out of a tough situation when you’re locked out. If you’re stuck, it doesn’t hurt to check all the entrances to your home.
When entering through a window, remove the screen, lift the window, and shimmy through. Be careful, as you’re likely to be off-balance when you land—and look out for items below like furniture, end tables, and TVs.
Option 4: Improvise Tools
Movies make lockpicking look easy, but it’s much trickier in real life. Bobby pins and paper clips can serve as DIY locksmithing tools.
It’ll work best if you have two bobby pins or two paper clips, but if you have only one, you can break it in half to create two tools.
Bend one of the metal pieces into an “L” shape. This tool becomes your tension rod for holding the lock in place.
Straighten the other piece out and bend a small “W” into the wire at the end. This piece will help you unlatch the pins inside the lock.
Hold the L-shaped piece in place, keeping tension in the lock.
Use the W-shaped piece to feel for pins inside the lock.
Push the pins up with the W-shaped piece to unlock the door.
For a standard spring bolt, you’ll need a hard plastic card.
Choose a card you don’t mind destroying. It’s better to ruin a used gift card than your debit or credit card.
Insert the card between the frame and the door right at the latch.
Hold the card perpendicular to the door, and push and wiggle the card around.
While you push, bend the card away from the doorknob in an attempt to slide the latch back and away from the doorjamb. Push your weight against the door while you bend the card.
Slide the card between the latch and doorframe. With the card between the lock and the doorframe, you can push your way back into your house.
Pro Tip
If you successfully unlock your door, call a locksmith. You have proven how easy your home is to break into and should consider upgrading your locks.
Option 5: Take off the Door Knob
As long as the deadbolt on your door isn’t locked, you should be able to gain entry by removing the doorknob.
Most doorknobs have concealed connections or mounting screws, but if you look closely you’ll see a pin-sized hole or slot below or to the side of the doorknob.
Grab a thin piece of metal (like a straightened bobby pin or a paper clip), insert your newly made tool into the hole, and apply pressure.
You should feel resistance. Keep pushing the metal tool as far into the hold as possible with one hand while you pull and turn the doorknob with your other hand.
Continue applying pressure and simultaneously pulling and twisting until you’ve removed the doorknob.
Now all you have to do is pry off the decorative plate to reveal the lockset. Use a screwdriver (or your bobby pin) to pull back on the locking mechanism—the door should unlock.
Tricks That Prevent a Lockout
Once the frustrating experience is over and you’re safe inside, take steps to prepare for the next time you inevitably find yourself on the wrong side of a locked door.

Many home security providers also offer electronic door locks that unlock remotely with a smartphone app or custom code. Many of these keyless locks pair with home security systems that also connect to monitoring stations. Professional monitoring centers can contact emergency services if the situation is serious enough.
Getting locked out of the house is never fun. But these things happen. Just remember that you have options. Stay calm, assess the situation, follow the above tips, and you’ll be back inside in no time.
Give a Spare Away
Prevent the problem by giving a spare key to a trusted friend, family member, or neighbor. Someone with flexible availability is ideal for quickly fixing the problem in the future.
Hide-a-Key
Hide-a-Keys and outdoor key holders come in many shapes and forms. They’re often disguised as rocks or yard decorations. These products are great for hiding a spare key to a house, safe, or drawers. TL;DR He has a girlfriend and I’m just gutted. It sucks to feel so heartbroken over someone I never even dated.I’m just gonna lay out all the details so someone can objectively lmk how to improve my game, as I keep analyzing every bit of this while wallowing in self pity lol.I matched with this guy on Tinder in April 2017, but we never met up til January 2018 because I live a couple hours away and our schedules never lined up when I visited his city then. First mistake - I started the tinder convo just talking about art based on one of his tattoos, didn’t tell him how cute I think he is, made the convo all about our mutual interests... we have a LOT in common, but I forgot about the flirting even when he sent a message about how much he likes my style. We followed each other on IG and would DM on there as well as text, and when we finally met up it was for coffee. Second mistake, he asked me what I wanted and I blurted out “I’ll pay”(?!) and placed my own order, which I feel like was turning it away from any possibility of being a date. As we were chatting (convo was really easy and fun), he called me pretty at one point and i just laughed it off. We then walked around, I took a couple film photos of him, visited a record store, then happily parted ways as I had to catch a bus back home. The next day, he messaged me while high at 4 am about journalism stuff, asking me about a novel he recommended me, and lastly saying it was “nice to have a friend to talk to about journalist issues who is also super rad” which is sweet but also like, ouch @ “friend” - I guess I should have known it was doomed from then. The thing is, I built up this idealized version of him and to this day I can’t find a single flaw - but then again, we’ve only met in person a couple times and all our other interactions have been through texting or social media. It’s delusional, but I would be so happy whenever we unearthed another common interest or shared view. He’d message me and comment on my posts with cute nicknames, yet the rational part of me knew he is like that with all of his friends. All that reasoning aside, in my head I’m still like he’s fucking PERFECT and I adore him and I wish I could spend more time with him and my heart gets all glittery every time he talks to me.Months passed as I was busy with finishing the year of uni til april then studying for a summer exam, and he went overseas and came back at the time when I went overseas. All said and done, we hadn’t seen each other for a long time so in October he texted me saying he missed me, asked when he was gonna see me, and asked about a recent event I’d been to. I let him know I’d be there for Halloween weekend, and he said he wants to go out to some functions together, so naturally I was excited. Closer to the weekend I DMd him asking if he has plans, and I said we should get drinks before anything that’s happening in the eve. Again he said he def wants to see me, and he’d lmk what his plans are. After that he kept replying to my stories and commenting on my posts and so on, but I didn’t hear from him til he called me at midnight on Friday night (I missed the call) then texted me in all caps asking me what I’m up to. I told him about the club my friends and I were headed to, and he told me he was so excited to see me, and at this point I was like (!!) even though part of me suspected he was dating a girl he posted on his story with the caption “j-school date” (although it could have been a study date, I sorta reassured myself lol)So I leave the house party I’m at and I’m at this club with my friends at 1 AM, when he taps my shoulder and I’m all happy to see him, we hug and gush over each other’s costumes and THEN //// he goes “this is my girlfriend, (name)!”Not to be fucking dramatic but my heart dropped in that moment. I overcompensated by being really thrilled to meet her lol, and I also introduced him to a few of my close friends. One of them asked how we met, to which we both replied “tinder”, and he was like “Yeah I’ve actually made more friends on tinder than gone on dates!”.... like FUCKKKK. I knew it was coming, I didn’t really make my interest clear, and both of us are queer and really friendly w everyone so I guess even affectionate names and stuff don’t do the trick right off the bat, if that makes sense. For the rest of the night after he left (he had just dropped in for a bit to catch up with me), I was super sad and just ended up staring into space while my friends asked if I’m good. I’m so disappointed because I know we wouldn’t be able to date bc of the distance, and I’m not moving to the city until likely next year.. but it still hurts to see him with someone else. I know it’s ridiculous because we haven’t been together in person much, however even from those encounters I felt so comfortable with him and he’s clearly adored by everyone who knows him. He’s just a genuinely good person who gets my interests and my politics and would be the perfect friend if I wasn’t so terribly attracted to him.I feel like I’m never going to find my “person” because I over analyze everything about dating due to my lack of experience. Part of this stems from growing up in a household that doesn’t allow dating, but even now that I have more flexibility I feel like I’m playing catch up. I focus too much on my own self loathing to the point where I doubt people who express any interest in me, and I feel afraid to make a straightforward first move except in a drunk hookup situation. Generally matching with someone on tinder indicates that there’s mutual interest, but even then I manage to spin be situation and think maybe this person just wants to be friends. I’m not as afraid to flirt with people who I just want to hook up with, but with this guy I really thought he was cool so I didn’t act aloof and make plans for a one night stand, I tried to get to know him as a friend. The more I write about it, the more stupid I feel but I just needed to vent. It’s not like he was leading me on, but it’s just usually when a guy has expressed wanting to see me it’s been because he’s into me so I gave myself false hope. I want to stop obsessing over all the details, but there’s no one in my smaller city (picture: a lot of white frat guys) who’s even remotely like him, he seems to be like the epitome of my type. I just want to focus on my studies and my work and forget about dating until I move, but I also can’t stop thinking about him and letting this whole thing wear down my self confidence. Also, sorry I used the word “feel” SO damn much as I look back at this lol I’m just gonna smash the “post” button without editing via /r/dating_advice

A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?
Tab is a cuddler. He likes to be close to people, to by physically intimate with them in a way that goes beyond sharing a space  ---  this boy runs on touch, and isn’t shy about it. He enjoys being touched, having his back clapped or his arm squeezed, as much as he enjoys giving it. In a romantic relationship, this goes beyond casual touches; Tab just likes having his partner near him, being able to pull them close and simply hold them, his chin on the crown of their head while they shift and breathe against him. He’s not very tactile with casual acquaintances, so if Tab touches someone frequently, it means he cares for them.
B   :   BOUQUET.   does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?
He has a special fondness for wildflowers, but you’re not gonna find those in any florist’s shop. When he’s in a sentimental mood, he might go out and pick a few to put into a bouquet...  but Tab’s favorite way of appreciating the flowers is to bring his partner out to a field, where they can soak in their natural beauty.
C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?
He’s not a big fan. Anything with nuts in it, he’ll eat gladly. Nutella is one of his favorite things in the world.
D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?
Let’s go on a hike! Tab feels most at ease in nature, so he’d love to go on an afternoon hike up a familiar trail with a partner, chatting quietly until they reach his favorite ridge  ---  where they can watch the sun set over the horizon. He’s not unfamiliar with hiking in the dark, so he’d be comfortable heading back down...  but if his partner prefers it, they can camp out for the night. Huddling in a tent with them in his arms, just talking softly and enjoying the quiet...  hell, he’d love that.
E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?
Once again  ---  he thrives on touch! He loves touch! His hugs are warm and affectionate, like a warm drink on a rainy day. Usually he’s on his best behavior, too...  usually.
F   :   FLIRT.   is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?
Oh, he’s an inconsummate flirt, and doesn’t even try to hide it. It’s like a reflex at this point. He’s drawn to pretty ladies like magnets, and they’re drawn to him right back. He’ll wink, he’ll tease, he’ll find excuses to get closer...  usually, girls eat out of the palm of his hand. He’s not used to being rejected  ---  on the rare occasions it does happen, he goes a little shell-shocked, and has to sit in a corner to recoup for a few minutes.
G   :   GIFT.   is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?
Well, he definitely tries! Points for effort, at least, but Tab is a notorious regifter. If he doesn’t like something, he’ll store it away for a rainy day, and rocks up to Popeye’s birthday party with the poncho Auntie Marge gave him last Christmas. He tries to be smooth, but, like...  buddy, everybody knows.
H   :   HEART.   is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?
He’ll give the rest of him way quicker; Tab’s had plenty of affairs without much emotional intimacy involved, and frankly, he prefers it that way. Real relationships are daunting. Much as he wants one, the idea still scares him a bit. Tab has to be sure of himself before trusting his heart to someone else...  and equally sure that they won’t break it.
I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?
Tab has a dozen ways to say ‘I love you’ that don’t involve words at all. He’ll kiss, he’ll caress, he’ll tease, he’ll do the dishes and put them away without a second thought...  honestly, actions speak louder than words with him. While he’ll say it after a while, his partner won’t be surprised  ---   because he’s already told them a hundred times before.
J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?
It depends on how serious the relationship is, and how serious the situation. Tab’s not an overly-suspicious guy, and he’s not about to make something over nothing...  but if his partner’s suddenly spending all their time with someone else, talking about them constantly, or if another person seems to be moving in on them, Tab won’t be pleased. He’s the sort of person to say so outright, believing the situation can best be resolved if everyone’s on the same page.
K   :   KISS.   is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?
Do you even have to ask? He’s an astoundingly good kisser; not only does he know how to use his tongue, he recognizes the tentative dynamics of kissing, like a balanced scale which so easily tips one way or the other, and has learned to manipulate it. Not too much touch, just enough to leave his partner hungry for more...  not too much tongue, otherwise it gets gross...  let his teeth graze their lower lip just enough to make them moan, run a hand along the back of their neck just lightly enough so they shiver. Kissing’s a skill, just like playing the piano or learning to cook. Tab’s...  had a lot of practice.
L   :   LOVE.   who does your muse love?
Tab’s a funny sort of extrovert:  he can thrive in a room full of people easily, enjoying the company of his friends and the opportunities to make new ones...  but he never feels more at peace than when he’s outside, in nature and quiet. Honestly, Tab adores his family, adores his friends, adores animals, and would adore any partner he had...  but nature will always have a special place in his heart. (Nature, and Captain Winters. Always.)
M   :   MOONLIGHT.   is morning or night a more romantic setting?
Look, Tab can work with any hour of the day. He’s not picky. 3pm? 3am? He’s ready to go. Maybe he’s half-asleep, but he’s ready.
N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?
If the human body were a piano, Tab’s Ludwig von Freakin’ Beethoven. Knows exactly what he’s doing with his hands at all times. Tab can work wonders with those hands; it’s hard for his partner to keep track of exactly where they are or what they’re doing, only that they need to be doing more of it. He can be quite sparing with touch during the act, preferring to make his embraces count. Knows all the best places to stimulate; the gasps and moans of his partner only urge him on, encouraging him to work harder at pleasing them. Can grind like nobody’s business, and is shockingly flexible; has tried most positions at least once, and will try them again. When it comes to kinks, he’s actually a bit shy about trying anything too extreme... but if his partner pitches it right, he’ll usually be willing to try. Not to mention the mouth  ---  Tab has a magic mouth, and puts it to work exactly as God intended.
O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?
Not really. He tries, god help him  ---  he’s even tried his hand at writing poetry, not that he’s ever let anyone read it, because he knows how bad it is...  but Tab is quite plainspoken. He says what he’s thinking. That said, he’s got a talent for making the bluntest compliments sound romantic when he tries.
P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?
Someone adventurous. Tab needs someone who’s willing to try new things, who can keep him on his toes at times. He wants someone he can laugh with, someone he can dance around the kitchen with...  but also someone who appreciates the quiet beauty life has to offer. If they like being outside? All the better. They have to love animals, that’s non-negotiable. (Hopefully a dog person?) A great laugh, self-confidence...  and a bit of passion.
Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?
Look, he’ll absolutely do it. If he gets to the point where they’re both ready  ---  preferably after they’ve had a long conversation about it beforehand  ---  Tab will plan a cozy proposal outside, pick out a ring, find a serene spot and...  go for it. But if his partner did it first, it would be a massive weight off his shoulders, and he’d honestly be relieved.
R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?
He’s got a romantic streak so big that it chokes him sometimes. Really, he just wants to share all the things he loves with someone who can find as much joy in it as him...  and he wants to get to know their world and everything they care about. He craves a deep connection with someone, beyond the physical intimacy of sex, but the idea intimidates him at the same time. Tab would absolutely spoil his partner with romantic surprises and gifts, just because he wants to make them feel appreciated and get to know them better. He wants to understand what kind of romance they want.
S   :   SWEETHEART.   did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?
He had his first kiss under a jungle gym when he was four. You do the math.
T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?
He...  wants to. Very much. Isn’t sure he’s ever seen it before, and doubts it’s for everyone  ---  he’s kind of convinced it’ll never happen to him  ---  but it’s got to be real for some people.
U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?
He had a girlfriend in high school that he was crazy for, even hoped to marry one day. Little Floyd was popular with the girls, but he grew into an awkward phase that lasted throughout middle and most of high school; but Maryetta Stevens was the sweetest gal he’d ever known, and never judged him for his acne or his bitten nails. He was genuinely head-over-heels for her...  but she was stolen away by the marching band captain, and that was the end of that. It took him months to recover.
V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?
He’s got a dozen things he’d prefer to be doing, but everybody wants to go on a date on Valentine’s day. If fighting their way through a crowded restaurant just to get a cozy table by the window is what his partner wants to do, Tab’s game for it.
W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?
It’s something he’s given a lot of thought to  ---  and, while he’s not against it, it would definitely have to be with the right person. Tab’s not going to make that commitment until he knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with someone; it’s not something he takes lightly.
X   :   XOXO.   does your muse use / like pet names?
Not for his friends in general, but he’s got nicknames for all his siblings, would come up with great ones for his own kids...  and a few sweet, intimate ones he uses exclusively for his partner. Those only come out when he’s in a gushy mood.
Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?
...  yeah. Abso-freaking-lutely. And he’s not gonna apologize for it either. If someone’s threatening someone he cares about, Tab’s not gonna hesitate to step in, and he’ll take whatever approach is necessary  ---  a suggestive word, or a firm fist. Tab doesn’t mess around when it comes to protecting the people he loves.
Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?
He’s...  he’s...  he’s Tab, is the thing. He’s just...  talented. A gift like that doesn’t come without a lot of people eager to unwrap the package. The boy... definitely gets around.

Quick question about car insurance?
I've been with a car insurance company for 3 years now and have been lucky enough to not have to file any claims with them, I just had my policy renewed and the premium went up about $100 from the previous year. Prior to this it had always gone down and when I called to ask why it went up they said because of an increase in claims in my area, now I know insurance has many factors such as the area you live in, and even if that is true I feel as if I should call and mention that I've had no claims in my three years with them, no tickets on my record and always pay my 6 month premium at once, would this be a useless attempt at getting them to lower my premium or could this possibly help me? How can i get cheaper car insurance?
Why is car insurance so expensive in the U.K.?
I often see U.K citizens complaining about how expensive car insurance is. I understand that many factors make up the cost of car insurance, but is there anything in particular that makes it so expensive? In the U.S. I'm rated as a single female under 25, no tickets or accidents, driving a 2010 Ford F100 pickup truck. My car insurance runs about $1600 a year (roughly 1000 GBP). Also, just curious. If I lived in England, just a close ballpark guess, what would I pay using that criteria""

Are VW Beetles cheap or expensive to insure?
I've been looking into getting a car (I'm 25, female and it will be my first car) and I'm really loving VW Beetles. I'm leaning more towards getting an old one (say around 1970), maybe the convertible version, if I can find one. Either I would restore it myself or buy it already restored... it depends what I can find. On one hand it would be fun to restore it myself and I'd learn a lot, but on the other hand it could become quite costly. I'm just wondering whether or not they are cheap or expensive to insure? I'm thinking they would be fairly cheap? The reason the beetle appeals to me is it's very cute and also they get great gas mileage. I only really drive to and from work, which is about 20 - 30 mins each way. I don't drive long distances. Any info you can give me about beetles, I appreciate it :-) Thank you! (I want a red one!)""

What are the ins and outs of buying/owning a classic car?
I have been considering purchasing an older car for about a year. I've done a little research during that time and narrowed down what I want. Last week, I found a car that I really like, a '62 Lincoln. However, I have some concerns about having a car like this and wanting to get some feedback from someone with the knowledge/experience/wisdom in this area. Firstly, I am not rich and getting this car would mean borrowing money. My intent was to sell my current car once I have this car to cover most of the cost of the classic. Would that be a mistake? My current car is paid off, so money-wise it would be a question of insurance costs and taxes/tags every year (if I were to keep my current car). Second, the car I'm looking at is pretty authentic, meaning it has almost all its original parts and accessories. Would it be a mistake to modify it? I mean, repainting it (down the road), having the upholstery redone, installing a current radio and speakers, putting on modern-style tires, etc. Will this change its value negatively? I do like the car as it is, but I'd really like to put modern-style tires on it and put in a modern stereo, at least. Repainting and such would be probably 5+ years down the road, if I decided to do this. Probably, I'd want to reupholster the seats before painting it. And, since I am not rich nor a moneyed individual, I don't have a storage place to park it at my place. I mean, I have a garage, but my house is old, the garage is narrow, and I use it as my workshop. If I were to park the car in it, that would be I'd have to pack up my workshop and remove the shelves to make it fit. Do I need to keep it in a garage? Would that be smart? Does it matter since it's intended to be my primary vehicle? I can't think of anything else to ask at the moment, so if you have any other advice or insights, I'd certainly appreciate them!""

answer All the questions for your newest oc
DEAD U HAD TO ASK FOR NEWEST DIDN’T YOU. welp in that case have ya boi eneko
What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?he’s a patient dude! eneko can likely sit still doing nothing for as long as his physiology will allow aka until he needs to go to the bathroom or smth. he does well w low activity as he’s an introspective person
How easy is it for your character to laugh?FAIrly easy?? on a level of one to ten w one being laughs at anything that moves or doesn’t move i’d say he’s a.. 6. ok so not that easily like he IS fairly taciturn but he will smile and laugh at a good joke esp if he’s comfy around the person making it
How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)by crying- no jk he doesn’t… cry… emotions? what are those??? (thats a lie he’s an emotional mess) he will plan for the next day, strategizing and such but that’s honestly rlly bad for him. he stresses easily. on nights when he’s got a clearer head he’ll hum softly or read if he’s not feeling too guilty abt burning off candles. he does like night walks they always clear his mind
How easy is it to earn their trust?oh oof that’s a tricky one. not that easy but at the same time- OKAy yeah just not that easily from one being the easiest to ten being the hardest he’s likely a 8
How easy is it to earn their mistrust?VERY hard. once you’ve gained his trust he will be LOYAL af to u eneko is quiet n not the most expressive but he will absolutely go down in flames for someone he’s deemed trustworthy. a solid 9.
Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?laws are flexible defo. he PREFERS structure but if morality trumps laws he will break them. it also helps that he’s lowkey part of a rebellion so technically his existence in the present is breaking the law
What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?god save us all. he’s a nostalgic dude so uh, oh damn i dont have backstory for him yet i made him last night rainy stop bullying me but ykw we’re doing this. flowers defo. queen anne’s lace n bluebells esp? bring back memories n also pumpkin stew. mixed memories w that one. queen anne’s lace mean sanctuary n bluebells mean gratitude which is LOWKEY ironic considering they spawn memories of burning along w memories of his older sisters so yes?? he does like remembering his sisters but no not in that context. the stew is a weird reminder of his first love n that’s. also complicated
What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?talk more and talk better. he’s got a bit of habit of being short abt things and the middle sister of the fam was ALWAYS getting on his case abt no u can’t word it like that but the eldest was and is a terrible influence n absolutely encouraged it bc she found it hilarious. it’s good they love each other i swear
Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?yes he’s part of a rebellion and a soldier what more do u eXPECt and no he doesn’t remember his first swear word. he also doesn’t curse that much dont get me wrong. he has to be comfy around u
What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?gosh uh. eneko is still v underdeveloped so i .. WELL I CANNOt tell u in the present it’s prbly smth angsty involving his sisters or his lovER but the answer to does it haunt him? yes absolutely he must Suffer :)
How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?it depends on the situation’s levity. if it’s smth important he will absolutely bluntly ask for clarification if it’s smth casual he’ll just nod and pretend like he knows what ur talkin abt bc social anxiety is a b
How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?Suffer in Silence
What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?he doesn’t rlly think abt this. he likes green tho but he wears a lot of black (that’s partially required by his associations and partially bc idk what other colors exist thanks @ god) he looks best in hmmm red
What animal do they fear most?himSELF
How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?he’s usually fairly forthright so he sounds like he’s saying whatever comes to mind but the reality is he says abt 1% of what he’s thinking and he won’t say things that are quite obviously rude. who knows tbh maybe he gains secret enjoyment from watching ppl squirm under his bluntness eyes emoji
What makes their stomach turn?torture n he hates the sight of bones. blood he can stand but bones? no thanks. unfort in the business they’re in he comes across both of those more than he’d like. he also hates working in the theoretical. it’s unnerving but he’s fine if someone he trusts is wading thru the abstract for him aka thank u @ kent for being the resident intuitive
Are they easily embarrassed?nah not particularly
What embarrasses them?if u slap his BUTT in public jkjk i mean that would embarrass him if u caught him by surprise but hmmm he doesn’t like attention if u draw attention to him he’ll freak a lil that would fluster him also excessive praise esp if it’s expressed publicly. he squirms beneath the spotlight
What is their favorite number?19. day of the month he last saw his sisters smiling
If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?he’d prbly say smth deep which i cannot truly replicate but prbly smth like. “familial love is steady. it’s the mountain beneath which u were born. it’s the protection n the stability n the impossible sheer volume of it that can’t quite be comprehended. platonic love is like cords linking u to them. it’s the promise, the assurance of i will pull u up if u fall and if i can’t ill fall w u. it’s a tug o war and an anchor. romantic love is a stallion. it’s the passion and the chance but if u know how to tame it it serves to make u a better man than u could ever become on ur own. it’s the teamwork and the flames”
Why do they get up in the morning? to execute justice and to experience each new precious day he’s been gifted
How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? it’s ugly when jealousy rears its head in him. he doesn’t SAY anything but his actions become more erratic and he has a harder time focusing. it’s likely he’ll become more impulsive. he’s not DANGEROUs per se but it’s not a situation u want him in
How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? envy he’s better about. mostly bc unlike w jealousy he doesn’t already have the thing. it’s smth he’ll just push down and soldier thru like he does w most uncomfy things in his life
Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom? oh MY GOD DONT TALK ABT SEX that’s SCANDALOUS- the answer is no he finds it unprofessional in his line of work but he would be comfortable discussing it w his s/o
What are their thoughts on marriage? good. he approves. however, for himself he finds the prospect unlikely considering the high risk nature of what he’s involved himself w. he expects to die before 35 in all seriousness
What is their preferred mode of transportation? in the sweet embrace of death horseback
What causes them to feel dread? the knowledge that everything’s falling apart. that fate and circumstance are slowly but surely chipping away at the very foundation of what u live for and there’s absolutely nothing u can do to stop it. also freaking the appearance of the antagonist or his minions
Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? in theory? no. in practice? he’s actually p sensitive that’s a difficult one to answer. it would greatly depend on the circumstance but in the long run he prefers the truth
Do they usually live up to their own ideals? yes but in his own eyes, no. he holds himself to extremely high standards and is very self critical. also he has rlly unachievable ideals he’s a lil bit idealistic beneath the guise of realism
Who do they most regret meeting? ohohOHO jk i have no idea not there yet in the story but prbly the antagonist he’s a b
Who are they the most glad to have met? funnily enough? he could almost say the antagonist. he’s the reason why eneko’s working as hard as he is for what he is. without the introduction of the antagonist he would’ve been oblivious to the terrible injustice around him and likely ended up a victim by some obscure mindless death order. however the person he truly admires is the rebel member who took him under her wing however she’s still in the works so i can’t give u much on her
Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? i don’t think so, no
Could they be considered lazy? NOPE not in any sense of the word. eneko works extremely hard. he’s v dedicated n dutiful
How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? oh, very hard. he’s naturally altruistic so he tends to take failures to heart and internalize them and considering the dangerous line of work he’s in he oftens has guilt building up inside him. he’ll likely carry it w him for the rest of his life once he’s decided to be guilty abt smth. if someone doesn’t help him w it it can break him down in ugly ways
How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? yes!! he’s a pure son. you’ll definitely get a smile out of him if smth good has happened to u. he’s very supportive of his friends. he would die for his friends and likely all of u i just want u all to know this
Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?neither. he finds seeking romance irresponsible w his lifestyle. as i previously stated he expects to die young
Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? he has fairly good memory esp w faces! but otherwise? i would say he learns best by touch. he’s a tactile person and also fairly auditory. music defo helps him remember things
What memory do they revisit the most often? prbly the day he separated from his sisters. it’s not a particularly good memory but it’s seared in his mind
How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people? he doesn’t ignore ppl’s flaws per se? he’s p perceptive so it’s difficult for him to just turn a blind eye at least within his own mind but eneko is v tolerant of ppl and accepting. even if he dislikes u it’s doubtful you’ll know he’s fairly good at keeping up the same respect for most everyone he comes in contact w. but yeah? he knows what flaws are there but he will simply accept ppl bc he knows everyone, including himself, esp himself, has many flaws
How sensitive are they to their own flaws?oh oof yeah he’s?? a p sensitive guy so while he recognizes his own faults jabs to his weak spots will hurt him and he’ll prbly sit on the accusation or callout for days esp if someone accuses him of being selfish or immoral or not having done enough for the ppl he cares abt (smth along those lines) he’d absolutely hate that. but if u tell him he’s blunt he’s going to be like im well aware of that
How do they feel about children? he’s SUCH A DAD he loves kids and he’s rlly good w them they love him bc he’s SOFT ok but he doesn’t plan on having them himself even tho he’d like to for the exact same reasons he isn’t pursuing romance/marriage
How badly do they want to reach their end goal? enough that he’d die to reach it
If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?eneko is either demi or grasexual w pan preferences. he’s also panromantic. if someone asked for explanation he’d be like “i’m attracted to people of all genders” and just leave it at that unless ofc they were like RLLY curious or smth but he doesn’t rlly consider himself demi or pan or anything he just knows he isn’t straight LOL
QUESTIONS FOR CREATORS
A) Why are you excited about this character?…strong silent type. that’s all i have to sayB) What inspired you to create them?i’ve taken some inspiration from other characters from shows, etc. i’ve written so he’s a bit of a love child of the best of my musesC) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?im still figuring it out so that’s a probable yesD) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?he’s been edited a bit there were a few reincarnations of him like at first he had straight black hair in an undercut style but now it’s WAVY and dark brown and he also got darker. id say he’s like latino w a lil african blood this is esp amusing considering i literally created him last nightE) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?i think we’d get along alright if we could get past the initial awkwardness bc we’re both kind of crap at interpersonal relationships actually he isn’t that bad it’s mostly me and i THINK he might find me slightly abrasive n energetic (even tho im PLOT TWIST low energy compared to most extroverts) but he’s tolerant it wouldn’t be too badF) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?love…. i love my soft boi i usually hate my ocs aka i would slap them if given the chance but eneko? deserves happinessG) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?he is not real in general and non existent in actual writing as of the present. the latter tragedy i will soon solve. in all seriousness it’s prbly his bluntness it has the tendency to give me second hand embarrassmentH) What trait do you admire most?his tolerance and patience i have none loLI) Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?for now, yes! i dont have a solid grasp of him so until then he’ll stay where he was BIRTHEDJ) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?not rlly! the entire story he’s in is still in the works so everything’s rlly flexible

Want to Scale Up Your Content Operations? 4 Things to Think Big About [Infographic]
Let’s say for some time you single-handedly make something that people love to consume: cinnamon buns, maybe, or content. You decide to go big with your operations and bring more bliss into the world. Boatloads of bliss. We’re talking content (or cinnamon buns) galore. We’re talking more than simply doing more of what you’re doing.
We’re talking scaling up.
You need to do more than throw more people at the situation. To handle increased complexity, you need updated processes, new strategies, and more automation.
For example, in Automating Content Reuse: One Marketing Team’s Story, Jen Brass Jenkins tells the story of the content teams at the University of Utah Health Care system who are revamping the way they create, tag, distribute, and manage their content so they can reuse their content in smarter ways and get it in front of more readers.
Boatloads of readers.
Many marketers dream of accomplishing something like this; they just aren’t sure how to make it happen. The CMI editorial team recently asked the folks slated to speak at the Intelligent Content Conference (March 28-30 in Las Vegas) to share their favorite ideas, tips, and tools on scaling content operations. Read on for the answers, which fall loosely into these topic areas:
Think big about your people
Think big about your processes
Think big about your strategy
Think big about your information systems
Think big about your people
Create content potlucks! How? Invite content developers across the organization – technical writers, professional service consultants, trainers, support engineers, and so on – to participate in online communities. This is a low-cost way to build relationships and discuss the value of applying content marketing principles to all types of content.
You’ll discover ways that subject-matter experts can contribute to blog posts, videos, and forums, building credibility with prospective and existing customers alike. Customers like to hear tales from the field and learn from peers.

To attract more subject-matter experts, influencers, and others who can add to your wealth of stories to share, hold more events. Events create deadlines for high-value content that can be published and repurposed in multiple forms.

Build a content team that includes storytelling artists (writers), data wizards, and community managers. The flow should go from data – what to write about, when to write it, where to publish it – to story, to building a strong community that needs your specific content.

Spin off your content creators into their own Agile team. Include cross-functional members, giving the team all the necessary skills for producing content from start to finish. Allow teams to self-organize, set their own schedules, and stay focused on mission-critical content.
If you hire great people, put them on an Agile team, and provide them with a strategy to execute against, you can dramatically scale up without any loss of content quality.

Think big about your processes
Go retro and be OK with doing manual work before rushing into buying a technology to solve your problems. Often, I see marketers decide to implement technology to solve a problem that is actually a people or process problem, only to discover that in hindsight during the technology implementation.
By doing the work manually – and being disciplined about documenting the current process, or lack of process – you will discover holes to be fixed and improvements to be made. All this knowledge will help you select appropriate technology and prepare for a smooth implementation.
In other words, adjust your processes first. You have to adjust your processes eventually anyway. I simply recommend doing it as part of the technology decision process instead of part of the technology implementation process. Addressing your issues up front helps you make a more informed technology decision and eradicates poor processes before you replicate them inside a new technology.

If your authors compose directly in a CMS, provide fill-in-the-blank content templates that prompt them for all the content – and metadata – they need to submit. Where possible, prefill the metadata fields for them (for example, event hashtags).
If authors compose in Word or another application, give them template files they can fill in so that your production team has everything it needs to enter the content – and metadata – into the CMS.
Whatever kind of templates you use, include fields for social media sharing. It’s more efficient to populate this content early in the creation process. A lead copywriter can work with the social team to write tweets, for example, rather than someone having to come up with the tweets cold later in the process.
Templates are especially helpful for mobile submissions since typing can be tedious on the road.

Success with scalability is in the details – things like knowing the words and phrases your audiences use to describe what they care about. Align everyone in your content ecosystem on things you do and don’t want to see in your content. Communicate your style and tone preferences. Document your guidelines, with examples, and make your documentation.
A link to your guidelines isn’t enough. Expecting your content creators to spend time regularly searching for guidance is unrealistic. It won’t happen. Instead, explore ways to deliver guidance in manageable chunks, ideally right in the authoring environment.

Think big about your strategy
Create one or more editorial boards, depending on the size of your organization.
Editorial boards enable you to scale in so they can align strategy and publication efforts for various audiences across functions and business units. An editorial board coordinates content activities around a shared target – for example, a vertical (like health care), a customer segment (like pediatric nurses), a publication (like a blog), a business unit, or some combination.
An editorial board may have both core and extended members. Core members typically include content strategists, writers, editors, marketers, and others responsible for planning and executing content. Extended members typically include stakeholders who depend on the content (like salespeople) and subject-matter experts (like people who know your customer segments or your technology well).
To address matters of scale comprehensively, look across the landscape of your audiences and define a content roadmap. Plan the evolution of your editorial boards accordingly.

Build your reservoir of content around strategic themes: three to six top-level themes based on your strengths and differentiators. Content that aligns with a strategic theme holds its message as it scales. Building content based on themes is like building with Legos. Your content teams pick and choose from existing bits within a given theme to quickly assemble new content deliverables – from blog post to presentation to web copy to email to tweet.
When all content aligns with at least one strategic theme, it’s easier for employees and partners to use that content for their own needs – the essence of scaling.

I’ll speak from the perspective of a solo marketer or a small team. Take the time to understand every part of your brand and translate that understanding into a cohesive business strategy.
This is especially relevant with data mining and segmentation. Maybe take a week and dedicate half your work hours to segmenting. You’ll learn who your prospects are and who they should be, and you’ll be able to provide the right guidance to freelancers to ensure that you scale successfully.

My go-to discipline for 2017 is customer-journey mapping, aka service-design thinking. I don’t mean mapping the buying cycle in broad strokes; I mean looking at audience goals and how they’re accomplished in the wild.
Imagine that you’re designing a retail store or a new gadget instead of content. Think that way: Where will people be when they use your content? How will they be feeling? How often will they come back? Why did they come there in the first place? Answering questions like these will help you understand your audience in focused ways and help you refine the types of content you want to deliver.

Content models! Scaling requires systematizing, and models allow for patterns of deliverables, navigation, interaction, etc., to be captured and provided across a team to systematically ensure consistency while preserving teams’ ability to be creative. Nearly any content can be modeled. A good senior content strategist has the skills to implement a modeling program for you.

Think big about your information systems
If you want to really scale, you must store each piece of content and each piece of data (whether for products, for customers, or for transactions) in only one place – without duplication – and employees, systems, and customer-facing environments must be able to get at those pieces and reuse them (as in “create once, publish everywhere”).
This kind of foundation enables every new campaign, website, or other customer-facing initiative to use – and enrich – the same information set. It also enables content teams to avoid wasting time they would otherwise spend on multiple information systems, repositories, and processes.
A scalable information foundation supports operational excellence, the pillar that customer intimacy rests on.

Get smart about artificial intelligence in marketing tech. AI will help us understand why something happened, not just that it happened. We need not just numbers but the numbers’ implications. No good salesperson is comfortable acting on a lead that has been scored as an eight out of 10, say, with no way to make sense of those numbers. You need to know why someone’s an eight so that you can decide what to do next or what conversation to have.

As your content efforts expand, identify tools and platforms that the content teams will share. This approach helps you scale in that you maintain governance of your content-publishing workflow.
Governance covers a lot of concepts. In this case, I’m talking about consistency across your shared content platforms. Slack, Dropbox, SharePoint, Basecamp, and Outlook are all fine; what matters as your team grows is that everyone uses the common platforms in consistent ways.
While individual teams (for example, designers) may work with their own tools and platforms for their internal deliverables, when it comes to sharing and collaborating, you’ll need a structured workflow designed around common platforms.
Since multiple departments touch the same content asset before and after it gets published, you may need to establish file-naming conventions and teach your team how to manage versions of shared content assets. Everyone may need to learn how to use shared folders, FTP, and other things related to the pain points you have with cross-functional teams.

All my projects involve scaling up content operations in one way or another. Many clients want to tailor the same message to different audiences or delivery channels without having to rewrite content from scratch each time. Others need to author search friendly content without handwriting all the code or to share content with other organizations with a minimum of pain and fuss.
The two key approaches that help teams scale content operations in this way are structured content and semantic technologies. Used together, these approaches are powerful. It takes effort and learning to use them – they’re more like families of technologies than simple tools – but they’re the key to delivering great content experiences at scale.

Marketers should follow five steps to enable content scale and targeting:
Identify desired content assets and appropriate channels.
Put shape and structure to the content assets in the form of a content model.
Add targeting categories or tags to the content following a taxonomy.
Add standardized microdata (like Open Graph or Schema.org markup) that match your target channels.
Build rules for personalization starting by segmenting audiences and their behaviors.
Of course, the organization must have a strong delivery platform – a customer experience management system – in place. And marketers should build management patterns and habits that support content engineering and optimization long term.
