Hey, how are you doing?
I have 65 days until commencement, accepted my third new job offer in the last 4 months, made my first car payment last week, and having been going to physical therapy twice a week.
Technically I am "girl bossing"
The only way I'm pushing through this mentally is knowing I'm so close to the finish line, but it's been a lot of keeping my head down and blocking out what I can to stay focused, which is quite emotionally draining. I'm very extroverted so while the isolation has been soothing, it's quite lonely. I'm quite touch starved romantically bc I don't have energy or time to pursue something deeper than one night stands.
Overall, I'm getting stronger and I know it. It will be worth it. I'm just trying to finish strong.
Thank you for checking on me, it means the world to me I have people who genuinely care and want to know how I am. I can not express enough how much I appreciate each and every one of you. You are truly special to me ❤️💋

My classmate from uni asked to meet for coffee and I was not in the mood today but I went anyway. It ended up being a good chat and it was nice talk about our experience with software development so far. I left thinking: see you shouldn't isolate yourself so much and go out more.
Now I'm back home and trying not to second guess every single thing I said. 😞

Heyo!
Been a bit since I've updated here. I don't use this Tumblr much anymore. A few key things that have happened I guess! My best friend had a baby. She's the first and only child I've ever liked/loved. My goddaughter. I've been on testosterone for well over a year now! Got the most horrible beard. I went to DisneyWorld for the first time for my 21st birthday. Love it. So much left to do there, hopefully we can go again soon. Also went to Hawaii for the first time!
Ohau, went shark cage diving! Literally a dream come true. Had dozens of Galapagos sharks and a barricuda! Got hella thrown around in the cage through. Then we went to Kauai. It's absolutely beautiful I would love to live there. We went snorkeling, went to a luau, a beautiful beach wedding, and got engaged on the last day. The ocean there is so blue and warm.
Going to Cali here soon, my first time flying! Going to take Vaya and dia. It will be vayas first time in the ocean! And on a plane. Fingers crossed it goes well.
Came out to my family as well so that's been kinda awkward. But we're dealing. Got lots of stuff left to do this year, hopefully it all goes smoothly.

I have not been sleeping very well at all this month. Very fatigued and just catching z's any moment I can really. Tough times with everything going on. Trying to get some good vibes alive in my life. Hopefully back to beat making soon and hopefully back on the bike. What with everything going on I have lost 5kg since the beginning of the month. The book I'm reading begins with talking about the improbability of life arising out of the chaos that is the universe. Love it already.
Well, every now and then I'll look at Littleman and think to myself "I love you, you little improbability of nature." And man, the gratitude hits much more easily with that thought.
Kinda wanna turn it on myself and see if it helps with the existential ick.

And on a completely serious note, Dracula Daily was legit one of the most fun things I've done on the internet all year and I'm so sad it's over. In a world where the internet feels increasingly corporate and sanitized, having some weird little email book club spring up around a 125 year old novel feels like the Old Internet to me in the best of ways. I'm gonna miss seeing all the shipping, discussion, memes (maybe the memes most of all), and all of the little historical facts I never knew about. I've definitely come out of this with a brand new appreciation for the book, and I hope we can do it again sometime.

This last week was my first week at my new job. I've mostly been doing onboarding activities. I enjoyed the engineering focused sessions the most since they helped me understand how the company approaches software development. Some of the sessions were live, and others were pre-recorded videos. I enjoy the videos more since I can watch them at 2x speed. I wonder if this is a low attention issue as even for YouTube, I have to watch videos at 2x speed or else it feels too slow.
Aside from the sessions, I worked on refreshing my Java knowledge. I haven't used Java in years, so I need to relearn the basics and learn framework my company uses. I am also learning about the company product and my teams problem (complex) problem domain by reading through the team documentation. It is slow going as there is lots of unfamiliar terminolgy. I am going to set up a knowledge transfer session with my onboarding buddy to help clarify my confusion.
I've been taking notes in Obsidian as I go along. Obsidian requires a licsense for commercial work, but it's worth it for me. I can take notes that are saved locally instead of on an external server (ie don't expose company info). I could use Bear instead, but I already use Obsidian for personal knowledge management so it's seamless to use it at work too.
Some things on my mind for next week:
have my first 1-1 with my manager. I'm hoping to make a good impression and not come across and quiet or awkward.
as I ramp up on real work, I need to continue to make time in my schedule for curiosity fuelled self learning that lets me continue building a high level view of my work.
be mindful of stress/anxiety levels. Don't let perfectionism and fear of not being good enough make you overwork/feel anxious all the time.

Cleaned up, rearranged, and reorganized my glass case of misc collection items, including my mineral/rock/agates, fossils/skull/pelt, and memoriam items in the top left. Skull is a white tail doe (appears to be beetled but was a gift) resting on a rabbit pelt. Felt cat-moth was made several years ago, wooden character charm (drawn/produced by @oooocleo ) w/ the doe skull is Warren's innate form.
