a/n: requested <3 usually in my writing the reader is implied to be a part of easy company in a vague way bc i know ppl have different preferences but some of these include getting shot (not graphic or anything) so ig that implies they're on the front lines

[dick winters]

you hit your head prettyyyy hard, and you're out of it, probably definitely concussed

it happens right in front of dick and he tries really hard to keep calm

he wants to be strong and level-headed for you

shows more obvious affection then any of the men have ever seen from him; pets your hair, holds your hand, is always by your side

he immediately gets you a medic and transported to an aid station and doesn’t want to leave you

but when dick's back with easy, he gets uncharacteristically easily angry and frustrated...

he gets quiet and withdrawn and a little snappy with zelensky and nix... and they both immediately know why

whenever he can go see you, he's there.. he even gets behind on all his paperwork (but nix offers to help)

which dick is hesitant to accept for many reasons, he feels guilty, like he's not focusing on his duties but lew is always good at keeping the reports concise lol

very fragile with you, he isn't underestimating you but he just absolutely does not want to push you or hurt you

is a stickler for the rules, follows absolutely everything the doctor says

he has to wake you up every few hours and you keep insisting it’s unnecessary and dick is absolutely not having it

you try to get up and move around and all dick has to hear is the sheets moving and he just gives you that stare, a little bit like a disappointed mom, and you're right back laying down

he’s way more clingy than usual, wants to be by your side, subtly holding your hand

in that moment it definitely hits him how much he loves and cares about you... he hasn't really had time or space to process those feelings until now <3

[lewis nixon]

it does not look good at first

it's really scary for everyone there, you loose a lot of blood and lose consciousness

lew is not there when you're first shot in the leg and everyone is very glad that he didn't have to see it

but when he finds out... oh he is not keeping cool, is not pretending even a little bit to be okay

starts lashing out and snaps at the driver who's taking him to the hospital to drive faster, mad that they didn't tell him sooner, mad that you were injured, mad at the war, furious at absolutely everything

lew has to be monitored by dick not to go full self destruction mode and get incredibly drunk

he hates just sitting with the constant uncomfortable feeling and reminder that you're hurting

he will not leave your side at first when you’re sleeping a lot, on a lot of medicine, and out of it

one nurse does approach him when he's the only vistor in the hospital left, "sir, the visiting hours-"

he just looks up, obviously devastated, voice cracking, "i'm can't leave. you can drag me out but i'm not going, thanks."

they back off after that

does go through a phase where he hates going once you're more conscious because he kills him to see you like that and face this feels irrational guilt he feels for not being there

because he definitely has the tendency to avoid his problems and things that hurt him

but it hurts you too and you don't fully understand

you look up at dick and harry, slightly delirious from the morphine, tearing up, "does he not want to see me anymore?"

after that they do drag lew to see you and you just straight up tell him feeling guilty is pointless and not fair to himself (or you)

and then it's right back to not leaving your side and always trying to make you laugh or smile

okay so i love the angel of the company x speirs trope

by now he's the co of easy and your relationship is a widely known secret...

he assigns you and the group of other men to a patrol... it wasn't an overly risky or bad order, a standard order from sink

but you guys make contact and you're shot in the arm

it just absolutely wrecks him

the guys feel like he's just going to go across enemy lines and find the soldier that shot you himself

the rest of the guys are furious too because everyone just absolutely loves you

for a short time, he's mad at the other soldiers on the patrol and you have to reminder him they didn't do anything wrong

but ron is really just irrationally mad at himself for not being there, for not being psychic, he's just angry he somehow didn't stop this

ron is not controlling and not possessive and he knows you can hold your own but he feels responsible for taking care of you and making sure you're safe

even if he can't quite articulate all of those feelings yet

he doesn't understand all the emotions he feels and doesn't even have time to try to understand them

he listens so attentively to the doctors, he can recite everything they've said word for word

like with chuck, he demands the absolute best from the doctors

this incident shows his more compassionate side and the guys start to see how much he really cares about you... bc they're protective of you too!

you have to comfort him and his voice breaks

and he feels weak and he feels bad that you're comforting him and not the other way around

"i'm messing everything up, doing everything wrong," he says more to himself but you frown, eyebrows furrowed and everything

"you're so hard on yourself, ron. when it's not your fault, it was routine, you didn't shoot me. then i'd be really pissed." you smile and he smiles weakly... but he's on edge for a longgg time after this

[carwood lipton]

unfortunately you and lip just cannot catch a break

your leg gets injured while he has pneumonia

it's not a major injury but a bullet ricocheted off of a wall and slightly grazed you and you need a few days of staying off of it

lip really tries to be comforting

and wants to be there for you and he is!

but it's very hard for him, he just wants you to be okay so badly, even when he himself isn't okay

trying to lecture you about staying off of your leg and asking others for help but breaking out into a coughing fit and then you're trying to help him sit up and to go get some hot water for him

and then he's back to telling you to stop and starts hoarsely calling for luz

it's a MESS

but carwood is a natural caretaker and has been one for most of his life

it makes him hover sooo badly especially because since he's sick too he doesn't have a lot of work to keep him busy

but you're not complaining honestly, it's nice to have more private time and something of a break, even if you're both miserable

you get the special privilege of an actual private back bed room with a mattress and blankets

kind of a bonding experience

you just laugh because what the fuck

it's kind of romantic, first time in a longgg time in an actual bed together

you just go back and forth talking about your future and the life you want after the war

"i don't like this wallpaper," you murmur into his chest

he laughs and that turns into coughing again and you're just rubbing his back trying not to bend your leg... domestic bliss <3

[buck compton]

buck... does not take it well

he takes it extremely hard

like his reaction to joe and bill...

you have pneumonia and the peniciln you need isn't available in bastogne

and it's even worse that he finds out you're sick only a few hours after that and that you've been sick and struggling for the past few days

maybe his reaction would've been different earlier on in the war

but now, it just feels like a destructive domino effect that's sparing no one

it's obvious after all of his friends injuries and your pneumonia that he couldn't stay on the front line... his red bleary eyes and slightly trembling hands said enough

when he gets taken off the line, you're both in an aid station together for a few hours before you're both transferred to different hospital

so his presence is silent reassurance

you want so badly to comfort him but you're so sick and he doesn't want you to, he feels so guilty leaving you

but you hoarsely tell him he needs a break and to process what happened

you're feeling slightly better this day so that makes it a little better... but not that much

both of you have been through hell

but there is a light in the tunnel... or at least you feel that way

buck isn't on the front lines anymore and you both have a chance at a life together post-war

he does not want to leave you, it has to take a lot of malarkey's coaxing him and promising to update buck

[eugene roe]

gene can't decide if having medical knowledge makes it better or worse

and if being the medic and being the one to have their hands covered in the your blood, was better than leaving it in the hands of someone else

he decides it's awful... definitely worse

the very few hours he slept, it was just dreaming of your terrified face

and he wakes with a jolt and is completely miserable

and life just goes on...

a lot of pacing and murmuring

gene closes in on himself when he's upset and stressed, so he becomes even quieter than normal

and the other guys are worried like ??? do we need to intervene and lip just stops them, "leave him alone, he'll be okay."

prays for you a lot, gripping his rosary so tightly and the photo that he has of the two of you when you were still in england

when you both felt some semblance of normalcy

he can't abandon the company to stay with you full time at the aid station to his incredible frustration and disappointment

it's just hard for him to go on like everything's fine, it shatters whatever illusion he has of fairness and hope and safety

whenever someone else gets injured or they need supplies, he'll take any excuse to ride back to the aid station to see you

and if anyone else goes, they always see you and give gene an update

winters definitely notices and tries to give him opportunities to see you

likes watching you rest and sleep (because you definitely needed it, even before you got injured) in the sweetest, non-creepy way

gene loves to just sit with you, see you with his own eyes, and know for certain that you're okay

wot rewatch 1x8: the eye of the world

I made it before the new season started! <3

spoilers for the first season of WoT and for most of the s2 teasers that we've gotten. For the books... um... honestly mostly stuff from Eye of the World that didn't end up in the show, lol. Oh, and for New Spring, I guess.

@apocalypticavolition mentioned that Perrin's original plot was probably helping Lan track Moiraine - that makes a lot of sense! It would have given Perrin a chance to flex his heightened senses and it might have even given Lan a chance to name-drop Elyas.

Okay, wow, yay! Our Completely Old Tongue scene from Age of Legends. When this first opened and they were just... talking in the Old Tongue... I was so blown away. I was not expecting it. I think they've hinted that we might get more Old Tongue scenes in s2 as well, which would be fantastic.

I'm glad that I read The Strike on Shayol Ghul short story -- they really did pull a lot of the info from that story for this scene, so that was very cool to see.

There is definitely a lot more focus on "Dragon as father" here than in the books (and I wonder if the tragedy of him murdering his family is going to focus more on killing his kids and not solely about killing his wife, once we get into that)

And the reveal at the end that '3000 years ago' was actually futuristic and we're living in a post-apocalyptic landscape, which is a great reframing for anyone who didn't already know.

Love all our Moiraine & Rand ~bonding time~ here (for various values of bonding time, lol). Definitely curious about where that relationship is going to go over the course of s2.

Egwene and Perrin checking in with each other is a sweet moment. Yeah, things Got Weird last episode due to stress and Nynaeve accidentally telling a secret that wasn't hers, but it hasn't wrecked their friendship.

And if Perrin is the one helping Lan here (supernaturally), then Lan and Nynaeve's scene would have just been the romantic goodbye.

Ishamael notes here that he didn't think that Rand was the Dragon Reborn. It sounds like he was expecting Rand to look more like LTT did. I really do love him calling Rand "Lews Therin", poor Rand. The identity issues are only going to get worse, bb. Love that Rand starts their conversation with an arrow to the face.

"Ever since the day I channeled, I hear nothing [from the wind]" is our first allusion to Nynaeve's block, I believe.

Moiraine tapdancing around the truth as hard as possible so that she doesn't have to admit that she physically can't teach Rand channeling. She's even willing to share one of her traumas with Rand in order to avoid admitting it! Also, I do think that Elaida's willingness to turn to violence is going to stand out a lot more in a world where teaching isn't always accompanied by brutality, as it is in the books.

haha, I totally forgot about this scene with Min and the others. Maybe because it doesn't really tell us anything we aren't going to learn immediately even without her (a nod to how pointless Min's viewings mostly are in the books? lol) but it does prompt Min to get out of the city on the wagons, I'm guessing.

Apologies to all the people who worked hard on the battle scenes but I don't ever have much to say about things like that.

Rand already getting memories (and Moiraine seeing him remember) plus Rand trying to protect people from getting hurt because they're standing next to him. (and Rand trying to give an order that Moiraine immediately ignores lol)

yeah if Lan had a companion (like Perrin) then his scenes here would have actually had some dialogue - they may have even given Rand the line about Malkier because they wanted to get the info out but it was originally supposed to come out in dialogue between Lan and Perrin.

Aww, family moment between the Agelmars. It's sweet. I honestly barely remember the Agelmars from the books, so this was an improvement. "Buy enough time to stand a chance" is going to be a big theme, too.

We also kinda get confirmation here that Darkfriends have been more effective in the show-verse than they were in the books-verse (it seems like more knowledge has been destroyed).

18. So, given what we've seen in the teasers of Ishy getting Lanfear from a seal, it seems like this specific spot is where LTT sealed Ishamael in particular (half-sealed?) and he released Ishamael fully when he cracked the seal. Before this, we only see Ishy working in people's dreams and then, in s2, he gets to actually exist in the waking world.

19. While I do see the effects of the covid shutdown and new rules in the battle scenes (and am looking forward to seeing them pop off without those setbacks in s2!); the scenes with Rand in the dream and Rand against Ishamael are perfect and I will hear no arguments against them. Rand is, ultimately, a philosophical hero and not a battle hero. He gets that wrong a lot in the books! But things tend to backfire on him when he tries to force himself into the battle hero position.

20. And we have ~the temptation~ here, with Egwene and little Joiya (and the mention of Mat, which was fascinating at the time and remains utterly fascinating; that fake!Egwene makes a point of mentioning Mat in Rand's temptation dreamworld).

21. The imagery for what Ishamael does to Moiraine is pretty much exactly like the shielding on Logain and not anything like when Logain was severed later in the episode, so I will (one last time before the new season lol) put my bet in that she was shielded. Ishamael is just able to do a lot faster than the Aes Sedai. Also when Moiraine is right behind Rand like this, you can really see how similar their shirts really are in color.

22. Min is jetting out of Fal Dara as fast as she can -- show!Min actually seems aware that she's not a fighter. #goodforher

23. But they did use needing to have Perrin in Fal Dara to give him a nice little scene with Loial that fed into the violence vs peace conflict.

24. Ishy really put in the work here (I'm assuming that it must have all been drawn from Rand's memories which, again, makes Egwene mentioning that Mat is saying he's going to make Joiya a lantern just incredibly fascinating). Ishamael waits until Rand falls for the trap to reveal to Rand what's going on (sorta). And both Ishy and Rand are working the angles here -- Ishy pretends that he wants Rand to pick the dream world and... you know, that would be useful but... he still wins if Rand fights him because that surge of Power will break his seal. And Rand pretends that he's falling for the temptation but actually is looking for Ishy to give him some clues on how to access the Power on purpose.

25. Ah, s2 setup is happening: Perrin learns that the Dragon needs the Horn at the Last Battle; and Fain was given the password to get into the fortress, which means there's a Darkfriend who knows the passwords.

26. I 100% approve of the show making joining a circle dangerous. In the books, circles are so completely underused and it feels silly because they are very low risk. People should be in circles all the time; especially when things get dangerous.

27. Lots of emphasis on fatherhood this season -- Rand's struggle about Tam being his father; Rand's desire to be a father (expressed both in ep1 and here with Joiya). We also had Siuan's relationship with her father being a key element of her character.

28. Rand loves Egwene enough to know that their paths have diverged and it would be wrong to try to force her onto the same path as him just because he loves her.

29. Very cute that Rand thinks he just defeated the Dark One. I want to give him a pet on his fluffy (currently sweaty lol) head).

30. Perrin gets the infodump from Fain instead of it being Mat. It's a good infodump, from someone who definitely, obviously has an agenda.

31. Rand thinks he's succeeded, so he leaves on his own so that he won't hurt the ones he loved. Baby. Off he goes, into the big world of Making Bad Life Choices, bless him.

32. And the poor little girl who, at least, probably died quickly? The show did such a good job with the Seanchan. Both here and in what we've seen so far in the teasers for s2. They are gonna be extremely creepy and heartbreaking and scary. You can definitely see tear-tracks on the face of one of the damane here.

"Nico for sure used to do karting under a fake name" obsessed with this idea.

Baby Nico and baby Lewis meeting at a karting competition and immediately becoming best friends. Lewis doesn't really hang out with the other kids because they're mean to him and they hate that he beats them, but Nico is nice to him, telling him what a good race he had and inviting him to join her for lunch. Lewis thinks that Nico is so cool. She knows so much about F1 and loves karting too, plus her dad knows so much and is nice to him, which can't be said about all of the parents (I feel like Keke would just shave off his moustache and suddenly become unrecognisable).

Nico and Lewis spend months emailing back and forth, and are always so excited to see each other at karting events. Lewis's sisters tease him SO MUCH about the photos he has of him and Nico, which annoys him so much because they're just friends shut up Nicola! (That's actually Lewis's sister's name btw) Lewis thinks it's a bit weird that Nico and her dad always travel with six really muscular guys (I do think Mika should be in charge of Nico's security), but Nico says that it's just for protection, and once Lewis's dad has talked about it with Keke and is totally fine with it, Lewis stops worrying.

Nico invites Lewis on holiday and he gets to do so many cool things for the first time with her. He gets to ride in a private plane, ride in a helicopter, go surfing and snorkeling and scuba diving. And through all of this he still has no idea that Nico is a princess. Everyone around them speaks in French, which Lewis doesn't understand, and he assumes that when the bodyguards call Nico princess, it's just a cute nickname. He just assumes that all of the weird stuff about Nico and her family is because they're rich, not because they're royal.

One night when they're teenagers, Nico and Lewis sneak out to go to a nightclub in the local town (Mika following them so he knows they're safe). They have a few drinks and get a little tipsy but mostly dance. Nico even helps Lewis flirt with a local girl, and Lewis makes sure that no one bothers Nico. Unfortunately, the paparazzi finds out that Nico is there, and when they leave, they get photographed. Mika steps in to make sure they're safe, but the pretty little princess of Monaco stumbling out of a Greek nightclub with an unknown boy is definitely making the papers.

The family rushes back to the palace in crisis mode to prevent the pr disaster and Lewis finally learns that his best friend is actually a princess. He's a bit hurt that she lied to him for so long, but when she tells him that she just wanted to be normal he forgives her. It does also explain quite a lot of the weird things she's said over the years. Lewis also meets Nico's little cousin Charles who is very sweet.

Lewis and Nico stay best friends throughout the years. She goes off to university, and he's making his way through the junior formula series but they always make time for each other. When he makes it in F1 she goes to as many races as possible. He doesn't win Monaco his first year, but she gives him a kiss on the cheek instead of Fernando, and it brings him luck throughout the year. Lewis is very protective of Nico as her flirting with Jenson becomes more serious, and more than once he warns Jenson of what he will do if Jenson hurts her.

Oh plss!

Lil 5 year old Nico begging her papa to race and her mum is unsure about how they will do it safely without anyone recognising them but Keke will happily shave his moustache because he is excited his little girl wants to share that with him! (And then he would wear a fake moustache outside of the racing lmao)

Lewis not having many friends in karting until this tiny blonde girl shows up and shares her candy with him while talking about the karting race ans she is so nice to him! Also Keke is kind to Lewis and even helps mend his kart after it breaks down.

Lewis and Nico emailing and always hanging out at races until Nico invites Lewis to come visit her when he is close to Monaco. They don't go to the Palace but to the apartment the family own too (Nico prefers it over the cold palace, ans maybe her parents divorced so papa lives there with her now)

Lewis gets to do all kinds of cool stuff eith Nico and he alwsys just assumes it's cos Nico is rich, has no clue for years until they get photographed outside a club and Nico panics so much!

They get whisked off to have the pr team talk to them about strategy and Lewis learns his best friend is the princess of Monaco... he would be so confused and a little hurt but Nico is still his best friend and he understands why she hid it!

Lewis also meeting little Charles who is Nico's shadow and comes ro snuggle her seeing Nico is upset! Cuties!

Nico qnd Lewis continuing to be friends as Lewis climbs his way up in motorsport and Nico goes to university, and Lewis is so happy to have her come along to races once he makes it to f1! He knows there is rumours about them dating, but Nico is like a sister to him!

And pls sksk Nico kissing Lewis's cheek instead of Fernando's (she does eventually give in and kisses his cheek too lol) and it brings him good luck!

Lesis being wary of jenson flirting with nico cos he is such a playboy, but he csn see Jenson is different around the princess, so kind and calm and so clearly in love!

OH MY GOD LEW I HAD A HORRIFYING IDEA WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF REN AND MARTYN WERE WANDERING AND CAME ACROSS GRIAN IT WOULD BE ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL REN SPOTS SCAR SCREAMING (also hi yes i became obsessed with your au just yesterday how dare you (thank you bee for sketching that and letting me find it eheheh treebark fr))

seeing my name at the start of this made me feel like that WHO KNOCKED OVER MY ONIONS. YOU. cat thank you

glad to hear you’re enjoying lamplight! bee’s sketch is rlly cool, i’m a huge fan of it! happy to hear you liked it as well!

i don’t mind saying this, it’s spoilers i guess but it’s pretty obvious i feel just from how lamplight is set up—i don’t plan on having Grian and Martyn reunite until Ren’s body is restored. i want that moment to be Martyn and Ren only, as with most of their journey

that said, ive thought abt Martyn and Grian reuniting while Ren is fire before. what interests me most about it is Scar wouldn’t recognize Ren—for one, no one really knows what happened to Ren, and as far as common mythos is concerned, Ren is simply dead.

Scar has no reason to assume he knows who this fire is, let alone that it’s Ren, who didn’t really have any public link to fire. it would depend entirely on him figuring it out based on what Martyn says about his god and Ren’s open hostility toward Scar

which… Scar is dumb but he isn’t stupid, and Scar is oblivious except when he’s not. the most fun part of writing this theoretical scene, considering lamplight is mostly a Martyn pov story, would definitely be stringing the reader along about whether or not Scar realizes who Ren is (bc no matter what, Scar will act as tho he doesn’t)

another fun detail about this to me is the fact Ren not only recognizes Scar, but is the only one who knows Scar is a god. even Grian doesn’t know that! which looks really bad, at least to Ren. Ren’s truly experiencing a psychological horror in this moment—the god who destroyed his home is here, in front of the paladin he loves so much, masquerading in the benign and harmless form of the rather bumbling friend of a lost friend, and there’s nothing Ren can do to warn Martyn he’s significantly more dangerous than he seems

also Scar’s charm speak doesn’t work on Ren or Martyn which adds something really funny to the whole thing to me

The desire to see you was so strong that he'd have gone blind just to see you.

The only thing he could picture in his mind was how good you'd have looked with whatever outfit you'd have chosen. Your presence was the only thing that mattered to him, now that he was finally able to ask you out.

Mason only wanted that night to be perfect, you and him sharing the same wish.

While his stare was focused on the full-lenght mirror before him, adjusting his clothes, his mind went to think how bad his brothers, Jaz and Lewis, had been trying to set him with you, that mthought making him giggle. They would be so proud to know you would have finally listened to them.

"You are perfect for each other, why don't you see that??" Jaz sounded rather desperate trying to get her little brother to open his eyes in how good of a match you would've been for him. "She's incredibly pretty, she's nice…what else do you need to fall in love?"

“Yeah Mase, you’re wasting your time ignoring that” Lew would always echo his sister’s words, pleading her cause.

He'd always react a bit annoyed at their words, even though deep inside he knew they were right.

They had been trying to leave you alone all the time, whether it was a restaurant or after a game you went watching with them, but nothing really happened.

“Well, I’ll pick you up at 7 then…don’t make me wait!”

“It’s called being fashionably late!”

A smile crept up on your face as your mind went back to that little bantering you had the day before.

Only God knew how anxious you were to meet him for the first time as something more than just his good friend.

As you put your things in your purse, you prayed everything would go smoothly, without it being too embarassing or, worse, something that could ruin your friendship.

Mason's mind, on his part, was wandering towards the whole conversation you shared the previous day: from the jab on whether you'd like to sleep with each other to the sense of loneliness, of loss he felt deep in his heart when you threatened to leave the training ground.

He couldn't get enough of you, that's the truth.

Mid September's crisp air urged you to opt for a quite covering look but not least fashionable for being so: a cozy coarse knitted sweater matched with a ruffled mini skirt; the whole outfit complemented by a pair of knee-high leather heeled boots

Mason, who was particularly sensitive to cold, chose a cozy knitwear garment too with matching dark trousers and designer trainers.

"Hey"

"Hey" He smiled, the softest smile ever as he shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets, in a way that conveyed shyness but also happiness for finally being in your presence.

"Hope I didn't kept you waiting for too long" You sort of excused yourself with those words, as you took your seat by his side in his glamorous sports car.

"Nah, just half an hour" He chuckled, looking out of the window.

You blushed violently, your eyes wide open.

"Ehm - half an hour?!"

"Yeah but it's fine"

"I thought we arranged to meet at 7, it's 7:05"

"I was joking Y/N, relax" His chuckle became a little louder, making you roll your eyes. You fastened your seat belt, huffing.

He was trying to act cool but in fact he was so eager to see you he left the house way sooner the time you had planned.

"You're incredible, Mount"

"I'll take it as a compliment" He said, setting the car in motion.

After that playful banter a comfortable yet meaningful silence fell between the two of you, the only audible thing was the radio blasting Sex by the 1975.

As soon as the lyrics started resonating through the vehicle, a deep tension started forming. You tried to distract yourself looking out of the window, your hand partially hiding the side of your face that could have been easily deciphered by Mason, biting on your forefinger to prevent any weird facial expression.

Mason tried to keep his stare on the road in a desperate attempt not to fall in the temptation to look at how your skirt's pleats would cherish your bare legs.

"And she said use your hands and my spare time

We got one thing in common it's this tongue of mine

She said she's got a boyfriend anyway"

Mason cleared his throat, trying to cough the tension away while you would try to relax in your seat, with a deep sigh.

"You look really good tonight"

"Thanks…"

You weren't used to him complimenting you, as most of your conversations were based on jokes and sarcastic remarks. So you didn't know how to take it: was he serious? Or was he subtly making fun of you?

"I mean it" You blurted your eyes at his words because it was as if he could read what just crossed your mind, being aware of what your concern was.

"Are you sure?" You giggled.

"Yeah, I mean you're always pretty…" He blushed, scratching his beard.

You smiled, quite happy with where that talk was going.

"Well you’re kinda cute too"

"Kinda?"

"Okay, you're the most handsome man I've ever laid my eyes on. Happy now??"

Mason grinned, as he was satisfied that he finally got you to say those words he had been dying to hear from you for so long.

"Much better, even though you're lying"

"I'm not lying, you really are very handsome"

Mason swallowed hard, it was getting unbearably hot in that car.

Gladly you had nearly arrived at the restaurant he booked for your first date so he just pulled up as he couldn't control his instinct anymore: he took your face in his hands to start kissing you with all the passion he had piled up inside of him, which was a lot.

You were expecting for him to kiss you that night but you would never have imagined it would be like that, so passionate, so overwhelming.

It was as if your lips were made for each other, they would fit perfectly.

It didn't feel like your first kiss at all, on the contrary it felt as if you've spent all your life together, practicing for that moment.

Your lips and your tongues were dancing around in a sinuous way, in a sensual fight.

When you let a moan escape your lips, Mason kissed you harder, if that was possible, slipping his hand under the hem of your skirt, his cold palm flat on your thigh skin.

Your hand would let go of his face to go exploring his broad neck. His body felt so perfect under your touch, you could never have thought it would be like that, not even in your dirtiest dreams.

When he broke the kiss to get some air, his mouth was dangerously close to your ear so he panted right close to it. That sent shivers down your spine, making you moan back. It was all so hot, he was so hot.

"God"

"That was good"

"So fucking good" You giggled, resting your head on his shoulder.

"I've been waiting for it for too long"

"How long?" You looked up at him, before pressing a peck on that vein making his neck so irresistible.

"Too long"

The time you spent apart was too much you needed to make up for it. It was as if you finally found yourselves and didn't have the faintest idea of letting go of each other. You were hungry, needy for each other as the next kiss you shared showed: your tongues were fighting for dominance, wanting to prevail on the other to demonstrate who was hungrier.

Even the moment you spent apart, trying to catch your breath with your eyes closed and your hot breaths against each other’s lips, was magic.

"I don't have a boyfriend though" You joked, referring to the song that was to blame for your passionate make out session.

"Well, so I can apply for that?"

"You'll have to make the cut first" You grinned cheekily, nipping his lower lip gently.

"Oh is it hard?"

"So damn hard…don't make any stupid joke, Mount" You warned him about the two-way joke you were sure he was about to crack.

He giggled against your lips before kissing you again. He was insatiable, leaving lusty bites over your lips to which you would answer to by sucking on his tongue in the most sinful way.

"God am I so predictable?"

"A bit but that's because I know you too well now…as if I've known you all my life"

His lips attracted you to him like a magnet. From all the kissing your lips were a bit swollen and red but you couldn't care at all as you'd have stayed there in his arms forever.

Mason smiled against your lips, as his mind went back to his brothers for the second time that night: the satisfied expressions that would have appeared on their faces, stressing how many times they told him to date you, made him smile proudly and that didn't go unnoticed by you.

"What?"

"Nothing…I'm just happy"

"Shut up Mount" You straddled him, moaning when you felt his hard bulge pressing against your core.

"You're so needy for me…"

"You bet"

"You know you're giving me a lot of things to tease you about later?" He smirked, moving your panties to the side to squeeze your butt cheek.

You rolled your eyes, going on sucking on the tight skin of his neck, trying to ignore his words that at the moment were just useless sounds his mouth was emitting.

"I guess you're not hungry anymore" He said, hinting at the restaurant that was waiting for you.

"You just want me to tell you I'm hungry for you, to boost your ego"

Mason moaned against your lips, his fingers rubbing against your wet folds.

You had so much to catch up on the restaurant booking took a back seat, the months of repressed tension yoy had to release were much more important…

Muppet Headcanons

I have so many random, silly Muppet headcanons I need to get out of my system, sooo here we go, bare with me

~Kermit still keeps in touch with the Sesame Street gang ever since he left them. He usually calls Elmo, Grover, or Ernie the most to check up on them and say hi!

~Apart from fish being his favorite animal, Lew Zealand is a big animal lover in general! He has an especially soft spot for all aquatic wildlife, including animals such as turtles and seabirds.

~I don't care what y'all say, Bobo and Uncle Deadly had something with each other in The Muppets (2011).

~Miss Piggy really does have a soft heart, her temper just makes it hard to show. Actually, this better be canon.

~Robin and Rowlf's nephew (from the Jimmy Dean Show) are good friends and love having play dates.

~Big Mean Carl is really emotional, he's just really good at hiding it.

~Fozzie has accidentally set things on fire more than once. Most times have been in the kitchen, he's not exactly the best cook. But it's happened so much somehow, it pretty much seems like he's prone to it.

~Sweetums gets along well with a lot of the tinier Muppets ironically. He's surprisingly really gentle when he needs to be, and is always careful with his smaller friends. Him and Yolanda are besties!

~Walter has more than once weirded out the others by just how much he knows about each of them. (Well that's what happens when your a super fan guys)

~Gonzo has a whole wardrobe that's just dresses.

~This is pretty much canon, but it's agreed Zoot has magical abilities. The guy has probably traveled to other dimensions and not even realized it.

~Also pretty much canon, but Rowlf has a much sassier side to him than he usually let's on. Most people just haven't seen it that often... except for Jimmy Dean. Jimmy Dean saw it plenty of times lol.

~Fozzie is like the resident tickle monster lol. Usually if someone doesn't laugh at his joke, he'll just be a little twerp and tickle them to make them laugh. He'll also just do it to be silly (Kermit has been a victim to his silliness the most lol).

~Kermit knows every first and middle name of all of his siblings. (which keep in mind he canonically has like over a thousand siblings)

~Beauregard knows a lot of cool random facts actually that he'll just randomly throw out there sometimes.

~Another one about Beau, him and Beaker are good friends. (They canonically usually set up stage props together on The Muppet Show)

~Scooter has so many father figures. Kermit, Dr. Teeth, Fozzie, and Rowlf are all his dads lol... and Janice is his one mom figure.

~Pepe and Rizzo have been together at some point.

~Nigel, more well-known as the band conductor from The Muppet Show, and Kermit are actually good old friends. (He was actually meant to be the host for The Muppet Show before the role was switched to Kermit)

~Lips and Dolores (trumpet girl) are really good friends despite him taking up her role as trumpet player. She'll still sometimes pick up her old trumpet and the two will play together for fun.

~I don't know why this isn't canon but. Walter. Autism. Real.

~Skeeter likes to visit the Muppet theatre every so often to visit Scooter. In the few times she's been there, she's developed pretty good relationships with all the others as well.

~Bunsen and Beaker have pretty much been together since they were literally babies (go watch Muppet Babies for proof)

~This isn't really a headcanon but something I've noticed about Miss Piggy. She seems to have a softer spot for a few of the others, and I don't just mean Kermit.

I've noticed that she genuinely baby talks Rowlf a lot, and calls him Rowlfy. She's never actually tried to karate chop him like she has others either. There's been like once she tried to swing at him, from The Muppet Show, and ended up hitting the piano instead. Personally to me, it seemed like she didn't really try with her hit like she has all other times; it was more like she was annoyingly swatting at him because he was aggravating her (which he was btw, he was teasing her). I just think her and Rowlf are good old pals, and I just think that she knows that he's genuinely sweet and doesn't wanna be mean to someone like that.

Same with Beauregard, she's been really nice to him too. She's even given him a motivational speech before from The Muppet Show (in that same episode, he hugged her and said she was his only friend and I sobbed so mentally hard over that). I think Miss Piggy just knows who generally good folks are and in turn shows her soft side to them.

See the demon oc was an old oc I used to rp named Red (real original ik) and Red is like a greed/selfishness demon he shoplifts and pickpockets and hoards shit.

And so I made that drawing of them before I thought up of a story but then I was like “oh my god” bc in the beginning of the series Lewis is selfish and continues to be selfish and jumps to conclusions. And Red’s energy is also impulsivity and split-second decisions and he takes advantage of little moments of weakness! So it’s easy for him to worm into poor Lew’s mind and make himself right at home with his girlfriend and his job and his family (he likes how much stuff Lewis has and how lucky he is and wants to make him paranoid) way before he’s dead! No insecurity needed!

He feeds of the moments where Lewis chooses himself instead of… someone else and uses that energy to make himself more powerful and more of an established force in Lewis’s life.

Red lets Lewis do his own things but he’s always there, either to guide him somewhere or feed him thoughts. Red is surprisingly good at hiding his possession (it’s not pictured here tho snsnsvs). When he retreats all the way back into Lewis’s mind there’s no signs he’s there at all, so as long as he shuts up even Lewis wouldn’t be able to tell—

Red might be good at hiding because of the innate nature of greed, that it’s usually an acceptable way to be. “I want this, I want that” etc. Humans really like things! Either that or he’s developed ways to hide because he likes flying under the radar. He likes stealing shit from under people’s noses and he likes it when even his victim thinks that’s what they want too. (Blurring the line between him and his victim’s thoughts is his favorite thing)

Anyway that was just a rant and idk where I thought I was going with it but hey!! Cool looking demon guy

How about some fun facts about Lew and Krang?

While traveling through space, both were interested by earth and its enormous natural satellite, the moon! They decided to check out earth, but forgot to account for the moon’s gravitational affect, and so they ended up crashing into earth, rather than landing. Lew was very disappointed in herself for making such a rookie piloting mistake… Krang was just glad they survived.

After all their grand road-tripping across earth and space, Lew and Krang have developed a mutual love of music. They become mega fans of an alien electric band called ‘The Fi-0’s’. They both dream of attending one of their grand concerts one day. Krang will also develop a love for oldie music and record players, he loves ‘Everybody loves somebody’ and ‘Fly me to the moon’ the most. Lew loves music with lots of deep bass, and will do most anything with something playing in the background. She even has a fighting playlist that krang plays to pump her up and keep her in sync. If you hear music, you know lew is up to something.

Lew is an earth name, because her actual name is unpronounceable for human vocal chords. (You need multiple sets to pronounce it) She was once asked to sign a petition, and in a panic, saw a license plate spell out L3W and put that down. The person thought it was just a funny way to write E, and that’s how she got her earth name :D Krang do not do names, so Krang just calls himself Krang cause that’s what he is. It does not get confusing when multiple krang are in the room :))))

Krang and Lew both love nature and biology, they go on research expeditions all the time, writing down everything they see and photographing it. This is where Krang starts to pick up his photography and scrapbooking hobby, keeping all the fun pics he took of him and Lew having fun for himself instead of putting them into their research journals. He’s very sentimental ❤️ Lew loves the camping aspects of it and seeing cool places and hanging out with her good buddy krang.

Lew loves to fly, she’s dedicated her whole life to it. She settles for driving land based stuff when her ship crashed, and she loves fixing up vehicles and modding them out, she’s actually a pretty adept automotive engineer, just not as advanced as krang. She makes a good grease monkey, being able to lift cars up with her hands, but there are some aspects of cars that require more human shaped and sized hands. Good thing she’s been turned into a shapeshifter. She’s also technically a rocket scientist, since she’s a spaceship pilot. Lew is kind of a genius, dang. Too bad folks don’t really appreciate that about her. Most people think of her as a meatheaded jock, and that may be because she doesn’t show off her smarts a lot, just her muscles, but her intelligence is how she and Krang were able to travel cross country for so long (that and a few grand theft autos… but does it really count if they were scrap cars they fixed and souped up?)

Krang loves trying new foods, figuring out what on earth is edible for him and Lew, and what may be dangerous for them. He also finds out he loves stuffed animals, they make burrows and nests warm and cozy, and they let him give them big hugs. He also has a love for coding, it’s like a fun secret language he’s in on. He’s better at mechanical engineering than bio engineering, unlike a lot of other krang.

Lew loves exploring fashion and romance novels, despite being aroace, but especially a romance novel with a grand tear-jerking reunion in it, reunions make her sob like a baby in general. She’s not sure why, they just cause this huge wave of emotion in her for some reason… She also loves astronomy, it’s a good way to feed her space faring itch.

Lew chose to use she/her as a her pronouns cause she likes the ‘sshhh’ in she, and Krang chose he/him because he likes ‘hehehehe’ but that’s about it. Argenauts have a different way of doing things than earth, and Krang don’t actually have biological sexes, they reproduce through krang goopy stuff eventually developing into egg clutches that eventually hatch and are raised by krang designated as brooders.

•He’s none respectively watching it every time he sees her. He can’t help but stare every time she walks by or if she ends up in his direct vision.

•During his “hardcore Hawk” phase, he may make lewed comments in passing around the school at her. Especially in front of his goons.

•Honestly he feels kinda bad for her after he gets together with her and starts to see first hand what she has to go though just because of her butt.

•”What do you mean the jeans won’t go up anymore?” As he try’s to help her shove her ass into her new pair of jeans she had just bought at the mall.

•If he finds out she’s insecure about it, he will do his best to praise her. He will try to be sweet about it, but it comes off as sexual every time, but at least she giggles at his comments.

•Super protective over her too. No dude gets to stare at her ass like he does (umm ok Hawk but you where doing the same thing not that long ago?) He’s always got his hand on her ass or had his hand shoved in her back pocket. Glares at any guy or girl who stares a little to long for his liking.

•He bows up at anyone who doesn’t take the hint to bug off and stop starting at “his girls” ass for to long. Is willing to fight over it too if someone had the nerve to square up at him after he tells them to step off.

•Don’t even want to go into what would happen if someone dares to actually touch her.

TDS Fantasy AU. Magic (witches, wizards, etc.) exists, but non-magical humans don't know that, for the most part. Dick and Joan are on opposite sides of that divide. Circumstances lead them to meet and mutual attraction ensues. Cue the magical one worrying about telling the other about magic and the other noticing that the magical partner is keeping secrets.

So - it's a little DND themed drama - and I can already hear the jaunty medieval bar scene music...

The tavern was busy, for a Tuesday.

But, Dick thought to himself, there really wasn't any way Lew was going to fail to follow instructions to find a woman, especially one as beautiful as this.

There were three of them, actually - booted and cloaked. The one nearest them was composing something on her lute, a beaker of beer forgotten on the table, the other attending to a lethal looking knife. "Have you any idea where Harry's gone?"

"Where do you think? The dwarf's always hungry."

Lew cleared his throat to interupt and the two stopped talking, looking up from thier work. "Barkeep there said you're looking for help. Have you room for a ranger and a rogue whereever you're going? My friend and I would be glad of the work."

The bard, a buxom, dark-haired woman in emerald green, looked up from her lute and swung her feet down from the table so she could stand up and have a look at them both. There's elf-blood there, or something else uncanny, Dick thought to himself. No human ever looked that pretty on her own. "Might be," she said vaguely. "Depends on who's offering." She looked a little more intently at Lew, obviously trying to place the face, playing absentmindly with the chain at her neck, her shirt open low enough to give all and sundry a very nice view - a fact that Lew, he could see, was enjoying immensely. "Might be," Lew said with a grin, looking the bard up and down with frank appreciation and standing just a little wider so she might get the general idea about what 'long' referred to. "Who needs to know?"

She scoffed. "You looked prettier on your wanted posters." There was obvious enjoyment for the look of shock that dropped onto Lew's face as she said it, and Dick decided he liked her a little more for it. "How do we feel about having wanted men in the party, Margie?"

"Depends on what they're wanted for," the tall, cool-looking blonde said over the dagger she was sharpening. "I can forgive some things and forget others." She set the whetstone down and looked the two of them over. "But you know how she feels about magic."

"Oh, yes, there is that - one of our party doesn't like it much." She shrugged. "Wrong end of a wizard when she was younger, you see." The bard looked them over like she was inspecting produce. "So. Either of you two of the sorcerer kind?"

Dick felt Lew's boot press down on his toe. "Unless she counts card tricks and bewitching good looks as magic, then we're skint out," his friend said with a comforting smile. "The charge for that last thing - which we were barely involved in, by the way - was a misunderstanding at best. We were early and the other fellow was late and we got what we came for, but he didn't quite see- "

"Does your freind ever talk?" the one called Margie asked, cutting in to Lew's longwinded retelling of their last job with an equally long look - and the dagger she'd been sharpening pointed at Dick.

"When he has to. Does she?"

Lew was quick but Dick was subtle, and while the bard the tavernkeep had called Black Eileen was the spokesperson, he knew at a glance she wasn't the leader - that was the woman in the back, the third woman who hadn't yet spoken a word, the one that these two were - there was no other word for it - guarding.

"When she needs." The woman herself sat up a little, moving forward into the light, the shadows of her hood still obscuring her face, a hand resting on the table, the light faintly glimmering for a moment on the embroidery of her tunic - a shape that looked almost familiar "Though I'm not sure how I feel about men with secrets."

Lew smiled, seeing something that it took Dick half a moment longer to work out for himself. He stepped closer to the table, mindful of Margie's dagger and the crossbow that must have belonged to Eileen. "That's all right, Princess," he hissed with a smile. "We're good at keeping them, too. Now - what do you say we wait for your friend Harry - or Sir Harry Hardhead, as he may be - and then we can talk about stealing your crown back?"

Wrote this depressing sh*t...

I thought this would be therapeutic, but I'm actually more bummed out now than I was before. I wish I could afford a therapist so they could read this, but I'm still unemployed and the whole mental health industry is f**d. I call it, "An Honest Cover Letter:"

Dear Prospective Employer,

My name is Laura Lewandowski. People who know my extended family call me “Laura Lew,” because my dad was “Mr. Lew.” I grew up in my father’s shadow as “the cool teacher” at most of my schools, which at least helped me academically because I didn’t have a choice but to care about my education. When I write these things, I often say that I’ve “worn a lot of hats,” but that’s not accurate. Hats are something you can take off at any time and are actually encouraged to take off in formal situations. What I’ve worn at different jobs are masks, always to play the part of either a supporting actress or a clown. I guess my masks are really convincing, because I’m never asked to take them off after work, and people often tell me that I’m “the happiest person they know” or that I “never get angry.” It’s still really hard to wear masks all day long, multiple days a week, but I always pull through. When your parents, your extended family, and most of their friends are educators, you learn that you must show every adult in your life respect, even if some adults say the most idiotic, heartless things you’ve ever heard. Thanks to my life experiences, I can adapt to just about any audience, though I often resent the crowd I’m performing for.

There was a time in my life where my identity was tied directly to what I like to do, because it kept me distinct from the family education trade. I was an artist and a writer who would sometimes hike around in nature, geek out about science, and read about the paranormal for fun. I even went to school to be an artist. What I didn’t know was that I would start experiencing chronic pain at a much younger age than society told me I would. I now live in fear of my body failing me while working on a project, or writing a long report, or being on a hike; I certainly don’t want to identify as an artist anymore, even if I still make artwork any time my body lets me. Vulnerability makes me ashamed of myself, and being honest about my limitations just makes me feel more vulnerable. Plus, I don’t have nearly the strict limitations of the other disabled people I live and work with regularly. I know I should just suck it up and “do a regular job.”

So, maybe you can give me a regular job where I don’t have to wear a mask - at least not all the time. I need a job where I don’t have to sit with my lack-of-identity for long periods of time, because no paycheck is worth that deep emptiness. We can probably have a few funny conversations at the water cooler (if we have one), and I’ll do my job adequately enough to fit in for eight hours. Then I’ll go home to sleep, get up, and do it all again tomorrow. I’ll never tell you if I’m actually feeling sad about something, so I promise that you’ll be able to focus on important things at work.

Lore time woohoo

Characters:

Makoto Takeguchi (real name)/ Cameron Lew (fake name) Manga maker by Day, city slicker by night

Kimiko Takeguchi - Makoto’s younger sister, idol

Michael Keane - head of investigation business, is looking for the city slicker

Dylan Hovis - friend of makoto, musician

Matthew Carney - friend of Makoto, musician

David Gutel - a music producer and cool guy

Manager San (Nana) kimiko’s manager

(Story begins in City Slicker era)

Fly Too- Makoto runs away from home leaving his sister behind in order to become a manga writer. He is kind of lonely and has to start all over from scratch, which is why he “changes” his name to Cameron Lew

Loretta- he meets someone and they become close, however in a turn of events she eventually leaves him on an abrupt note which leaves Cam distressed

Neighbor- Cameron goes to a new neighborhood around where he used to live (unbeknownst to him) and settles in. He tries to rekindle his manga but it fails.

Juban District- to make ends meet, Cameron begins to work as a taxi driver. He meets this guy who introduces him to this song which makes Cameron see things (or like the world) differently. Something in him awakens and now he wants to take out his anger (of the girl leaving and his manga failing) on something else and begin a new passion

City Slicker- Cameron meets up with 2 of his old friends and they decide to become musicians. However since Cameron has nothing he decides to steal keyboards from Juban Records and numerous other music stores. This all goes well, but suddenly he is wanted and an investigation service is after him.

Entertainment- in Cameron’s prime of stealing, Kimiko spots him in the store. She’s happy to see her brother again but also very angry at him for stealing. Cameron explains to her everything and begs her to not tell anybody. She agrees but only if he uses this new found musical talent to help to become an idol. They come to an agreement, and go back home. Only Kimiko, Dylan, and Matt know about Cameron’s true identity. To the public, Makoto is missing. Even if they look exactly the same, it’s just sailor moon logic.

Nisemono Era- It’s like the actual era, but this time Kimiko went to her debut and got even more popular. Cameron was introduced as her music producer, and the public called him “her second brother.” Huh. Anyway, to keep making good music for his sister Cameron continued to slick the cities at night with his two friends, which eventually gets Michael Keane involved to look for them.

Makoto and Kimiko’s childhood was pretty average. They were both born in Japan, and their parents were..okay. Makoto was the first child, and when he was 10 Kimiko was born. After her birth, their parents just kinda existed. When Kimiko turned 6 the whole Takeguchi family flew into Orange County to start life there. As said before, typically their parents were out of the house or away, so Makoto was Kimiko’s guardian most of the time.

Makoto grew his hair out during High School and that was also the prime of his manga writing. He would have tons of sketchbooks just filled with Meet You in The Galaxy art. Kimiko would normally walk back home after school, and once inside would sneak into her brother's room and look at all of his art. Makoto didn’t mind (since he didn’t have anything sus in there…) Kimiko really liked the main character Akane and that’s why in present time she voices Akane for the MYITG Anime.

Another thing is in 11th grade Makoto cut his hair and got an office job around town. (Just like the Karaoke music video.) It’s up to debate but I think he would quit like 1-2 years later in order to do other stuffs. When he cut his hair Kimiko was sad since he no longer looked like one of his anime characters. (Depressing)

Now in present time Makoto is 27 (at least I think so) and Kimiko is 17. They live together in the cool neighborhood and yeah. The style of their house looks somewhat like the house in Call it Home bc I said so.

Assorted Chapter 16 - 24 thoughts

GALAD IS A WHITECLOAK NOW!?!?!? I really like Galad as a character. Crazy that he does the right thing no matter what and decided that that included joining the white cloaks.🤡 Very interested to see if he ends up protecting his sister and her friends therefore kind of supporting the Aes Sedai, an organization he is now theologically against, or if he hands them in, betraying the trust of his family which also seems like a big thing for him. Which side of right will win out inside of himself?

Gawyn * rolls eyes * I liked him at the beginning but ever since the Tower coup incident I do not like him at all. He’s so annoying! And the way he thinks he’s right about everything? No thank you. He and Egwene better not end up together or I will commit a crime. He does not deserve Egwene.

I’m really liking how this book has given us a lot of different perspectives! It’s refreshing to see what other characters are up to!

Elayne, Thom is basically your step-dad. Please, I am begging you.

Finally, the Black Ajah are going to be scary and not just a totally useless group of 12 people! I’m excited to actually be afraid of them. Absolutely loving Moghedien!

Glad to get the confirmation that Gaebril is indeed Rahvin.

The mind control/compulsion weave is super unnerving from the perspective of someone under the compulsion. The fact Morgase has months and months of fake memories is terrifying!

I would read an entire book about Morgase though ngl.

LINI!!!! I need Lini and Nynaeve to meet so bad. When she said, when you get to my age all sayings are old sayings, I lost it. I would die for Lini.

Wildly invested in this Morgase-Gareth-Siuan side plot.

I kind of want Morgase and Gareth to meet up before Gareth and Siuan just because I very badly want to see their exes reunion.

Ngl I have no idea what is going on with Padan Fain anymore. I was so sure he was going to be set up as a foil or some kind of parallel to Mat but he seems to be obsessed with Perrin now? Not sure why, but I’m loving his batshit insane vibe.

Something something Moiriane and her relationship to time. Her being like “I have no time” a couple of chapters ago to now being like your right your right we have time.

The Aiel honour system giving positive points to being Aes Sedai and negative points for being Cairhenin making Moiraine cancel out. Amazing.

Everytime Rand is forced to make a big choice I take psychic damage. Baby no... 🥺😢

MAGIC SWORD MAGIC SWORD MAGIC SWORD I LOVE MAGIC SWORDS. The Cairhein sun motif just goes so hard. There better be a cool thematic thing that happens with this sword otherwise what is the point??? Also where is this sword from cause like I really doubt that Laman was a blademaster, man does not give me those vibes. SO HYPED FOR THIS MAGIC SWORD WITH A SORDID BACKSTORY!!!!

Just realized Mats thing has a raven on it. Does that have something to do with the Seanchan maybe? Like maybe the Seeker people with the raven tattoos? Or I guess it could just be cursed by the dark one or something. Mat would become un-possed just to go and immediately pick up another cursed object.

What is up with that other doorway terangreal? WHY DOES MOIRAINE CARE ABOUT IT? I just need to know.

Nynaeve as the carnival book-keeper is everything I did not know I needed from life. Every second of screentime Nynaeve gets, I love her more. OF COURSE she says she's the book-keeper.

Everyone reading into everything Rand does as the madness. Me frantically pointing at mat: "is anyone gonna look at that???"

For real though, I don't think Rand is mad at all yet. The little bits and pieces of information we get from his past as Lews Therin are definitely starting him in that direction for sure but all of his choices have been well thought out and logical so far. A lot of characters are saying he's become colder and/or harder since starting on this journey that has now been almost an entire year and are quick to blame this change on the madness. But really all of his choices and decisions are of someone trying to gain trust and respect from those around them and doing what needs to be done. Like sorry Egwene but Rand has not become harder because of the madness. He has become harder because that's what he has needed to become to survive and gain followers.

Muppet Goncharov Fancast

I know they only really do Muppet remakes with public domain stories but with all the copyright disputes I'm certain Disney could squeeze it.

I think you guessed this one but it must be said:

Kermit as Goncharov

This one's not just based on Kermit being "the main guy", I think his personality meshes really well with the inexpressive but nonetheless emotion-driven Goncharov. Softer spoken than the rest but not soft, he can and will lay down the hammer.

Token Human

Okay next let's decide who should be our token human character. Personally, my vote is for Katya.

Amanda Seyfried as Katya Goncharova

I know a lot of you were expecting Piggy here but hear me out. Casting Katya as a non-Muppet could really emphasize the theme of her alienation from both Russia and Italy and also I think it'd be funny if someone had to crouch down to Muppet-height to do the iconic cigarette scene.

I think Seyfried is great in this role because she's done fantastic work portraying complex and tragic female characters in the past but also can keep it fun for a Muppet-y version of Katya.

Now on to the rest of the Muppets...

Gonzo as Andrey Dodano

Andrey's quiet concern for Goncharov and fear of the inevitable end to their story screams Gonzo to me. The existentialism. He has a sadness in his eyes that [gunshots] Also Gonzo's not-quite-failure stunt performer career is very similar to Andrey's mob career. They both put themselves in a lot of danger for little appreciation in their respective worlds.

Piggy as Sofia

She can do the drama of a love triangle justice like no other! She can be flashy AND mysterious. Demure AND suave. Plus I think this would really bring to the front the performative femininity of Sofia's character and especially how she not only utilizes that performance but enjoys it as well.

Rowlf as Mario Ambrosini

Mario is loyal to his mob family to a fault and Rowlf, as a dog, could really channel that unconditional devotion. Also the scene where Dasha the cat passes in front of Mario, in addition to the symbolism already there, would have a whole new meaning if Mario was portrayed by a dog.

Sweetums as Valery Michailov

It feels wrong casting any Muppet as Valery cause he's just such a mean spirited guy. I'm largely going with Sweetums because I was scared of him as kid, but also because I think he's the perfect guy to pull off the last minute secretly has a heart but now its too late thing. The hug goodbye that you can't tell if it's genuine or manipulative. I think Sweetums could really embody that ambiguity.

Fozzie Bear as Ice Pick Joe

Ice Pick Joe would be a perfect comic relief role for Fozzie in a Muppet adaptation of Goncharov. Imagine for a second Fozzie doing the nickname monologue but as a stand-up comedy bit. Are you imaging it? "It was ice knowing ya!" (laughter ensues) etc.

And here's some more fun minor roles:

Lew Zealand as the gondolier

This is mostly about the fish stuff. Will it ruin the gondola moment to have a Muppet interrupt and point out the fish symbolism? Absolutely. Will it be funny when he gets slapped in the face by his own boomerang fish? Absolutely.

Scooter as the fruit vendor

Okay maybe this is mean to say but the actor in the original does look a lot like Scooter to me already. Also Scooter gives the vibes of being surprisingly cool with open homoeroticism. The antithesis of right in front of my salad if you would.

Statler and Waldorf as the assassin(s)

I know in the original Andrey just hires one assassin but he had such catty energy I think this adaptation there should be two and they could properly bitch amongst themselves as they kill (or fail to kill) their target. And who better for that? What is a theater booth if not a sniper's nest for hurling insults?

Rizzo the Rat as Dasha the Cat

Animal as the clock tower keeper

Because bells are loud and Animal is loud. But seriously imagine the hilarity of the "even i can't stop the clock" bit but instead of the melancholic portrayal of the original, the manic energy of Animal.

In conclusion: Disney hire me

That's all I've got for now, I would LOVE to hear if anyone has additional ideas for other cast members (I think there's a TON of potential for using Sam the Eagle as part of the critique of America-centric thinking in the original but I don't know as who!) or alternate castings!
