"Just say where she is and this will stop. No? Very well then, perhaps an hour or so will have you see sense."
If youve read my webcomic "Legends of Ocelot", you will know of the villian, Lord Edward Kane. Chasing after Tayanna and her amulet, to find the hidden temple and pillage it of its gold. A man of high society in England, of power and means and a heart like stone.
Having caught her protector he will use any means neccessary to find where he's hiding her. Now a cruel man like Kane would happily use methods like whipping, thumbscrews, etc etc. BUT this method is not only effective but cruel and humiliating for the victim. He is the type to go untill you pass out from exhaustion.
Altough Dario may be laughing hes not at all happy, he is fuming underneath it all and cursing the bastard.

→ @sadistpet said: ❝ i didn’t ask to be stuck with you. ❞ ( for ocelot >:3 ! )
" It might surprise you, major, but I did not ask to be stuck with YOU either. " He only made a half hearted attempt at hiding the annoyance in his voice. As trained as he was to keep everything under wraps and keep his emotions in check at all times he saw no downside to letting the major know he did not hold any high opinions on him. The worst Raikov could do was rat him out to Volgin and Volgin knew damn well that as long as his protégé did his job he couldn't touch him without fearing dire consequences. The Soviet Union was in desperate need of good soldiers and Ocelot was young enough to be extremely valuable to his government despite a few ... ECCENTRIC habits. If Raikov wanted to make him pay for his disrespect he would have to find other ways than going crying to his lover about it.
" So are you done complaining or are you going to do this the whole day? Not very productive, you know? " It was almost too much fun to poke at the hornet's nest like this knowing he would be BARED from any consequences. Raikov could not touch him and perhaps he enjoyed that knowledge a little too much.

I've noticed I tend to give Rizzen's kids an insect/arachnid and at least one surface animal to represent them.
Like I use butterflies and foxes as shorthand for Nalfein, then scorpions and jackals for Dinin, and moths, cats, and snakes for Maya.
I found it an interesting observation.

my last post isn't as clear as it could be </3
I want to try and expand on ocelot and "the legend"
putting this under a read more because it's all over the place but maybe you like incoherence idk
ocelot always always always reveres big boss. operation snake eater showed that bb is genuinely an incredible soldier but naïve young ocelot and his tendency to get swept up in the sensational (THEY'RE JUST MOVIES THEY'RE NOT REAL) meant that for some time, his perception was based more on fantasy than reality
any legend is heavily embellished and he is excrutiatingly aware of that by the events of mgs:gz/v. he is pragmatic enough to always have known this of course but he can't help but go all dreamy when it comes to bb. there are several tapes where he talks about the impact of "the legend" on the battlefield. he knows it's all smoke and mirrors. even in 1964, he knew the truth behind operation snake eater, the mission that gave rise to the legend of big boss. then, when the great leader "big boss" awakens from his coma to avenge his fallen comrades, ocelot again knows the real story. the events are never as they seem to observers
Ocelot to "Big Boss":
"Talking about you wherever they went helped to heal their wounds. Your actions and words--your legend--has been told on every battlefield they've set foot on. [...] The moment any truth is passed on, it starts turning into fiction. The problem is, fiction inspires people more than facts."
then there's the shalashaska tape:
"...rumors and ideas about people can get out of hand fast. Once you create a character and put it out there in the public mind, it warps and twists with every baseless rumor."
ocelot recognises how suggestive the power of illusion is because he himself is, or has been, susceptible to it. a strong, centralised figure can give purpose and consistency to those who lack direction. the exaggeration and hearsay surrounding "the legend" is useful to ocelot, who manipulates new diamond dog recruits by fuelling their passive admiration for bb as a soldier, exploiting their beliefs in the rumours of his merit to promote loyalty
ahhh I am really struggling for words with this -_-
ocelot knows bb as the man behind the legend
regardless of cold harsh reality, he still reveres him and is still devoted to him as one might be with an idealised legend
there's something in here about the authenticity between them maybe... even though ocelot knows the reality of it all, he is still team big boss. he's playing a character for most of his life, so ramps up the fanaticism in order to achieve his genuine desire to help bb. he plays a caricature of himself almost. it's still rooted in sincere devotion
I'm seriously trying to figure this out as I type. order of events:
ocelot is in the loop with operation snake eater
ocelot still idolises bb for his skillz and character
ocelot admires bb from afar, assured of his incredible abilities and resilience and all that
mother base is attacked and bb is comatose
this is a shock to ocelot's little dreamer mind and he finally sees bb not as an unstoppable legend but as a mere man who might actually die for real oh no
ocelot still <3s him though obviously and uses his sneaky devious powers of manipulation to exploit others' respect for the legend to help the real bb achieve his goal
unfortunately I did not achieve MY goal of clarity. good luck to the brave wildcats who attempt to make sense of this o7

Ocelote reafirma nuevamente que no regresará a G2 Esports
Tumblr media

you said on stream that you didn't like mgs2 as much as the first one, has that opinion changed at all? I know mgs3 is like the best videogame of all time but I'm just curious about your feelings on 2
Hmm. I guess MGS2 just felt a little less impressive? I mean, MGS1 has so many classic characters and moments. Revolver Ocelot, Psycho Mantis, Grey Fox, Liquid Snake, these characters are legends. But I've never really heard anyone talk about Fatman, or Fortune, or Solidus. Everybody knows about Shadow Moses, but you never hear about Big Shell. And MGS1 is so charming! The stark contrast between the old timey graphics and the strong writing and performances gives it this very distinct quality. It's so unique! That's not to say MGS2 is bad, it's just kinda... well. The middle child. If I wanted to replay a game in the trilogy, I think I'd always choose 1 and 3 over 2.
