Higuruma Hiromi knew he was truly in love when you successfully convinced him to watch horrifically cheesy reruns of Law and Order while he was the one stuck at home sick. He groaned dramatically at every exaggeration or incorrect legal quote, but he enjoyed how you snuggled into his side too much to actually complain about the situation. After all, you were kind enough to take care of him, and his mild illness had not deterred your affection in the slightest.
He had almost fallen asleep on the couch when you cocked your head at the antics on the television, murmuring under your breath, “Wouldn’t that qualify as Malum in se, though?”
Hiromi blinked once, twice, and then a third time before speaking, “I’m sorry, what?”
You turned to face your boyfriend, tone slightly teasing, “Yeah, Malum in se, right? Things like assault, murder… or wearing white after Labor Day.”
Hiromi arched an eyebrow at you and treated you to the lopsided grin you adored so much. “You’re going to have to tell me how you know what that is.”
He snaked his arms around you, pulling you even closer against his warm chest. Before you could answer, he took the chance to nuzzle his nose against the column of your neck, sending you into a fit of giggles.
“Well, pretty girl?” He teased gently, and you dropped your head back against his shoulder, humming contentedly.
“Do you remember when I mentioned I used to do community theatre a few years ago?” You questioned, and you could feel Higuruma's grin grow wider.
“Indeed, I do.”
“Well…. There was one time when I played a character who happened to be a law student.” You pursed your lips, trying to keep laughter from bubbling up.
Hiromi broke into a barking laugh that became a short coughing fit. “You played a law student? What kind of musical involves lawyers?” he wheezed.
“It’s called Legally Blonde, and it’s not just a musical… It’s a masterpiece.” You insisted. “I loved the movie when I was a young girl, and getting to play Elle- the main character- was an absolute dream come true.”
Your eyes lit up as an idea sparked into your brain with the strength of a thunderbolt, “Omigod, you’ve never seen the movie, have you? We absolutely have to watch it.”
Hiromi chuckled weakly, running his hand through your hair, “I’ve got a better idea… There have to be clips of your performance somewhere, right?”
“Oh….” you paused for a moment, “It was a few years ago, and I’m sure it wasn’t my best work, but-”
“There’s nothing I’d rather see than you enjoying yourself and doing what you love,” Hiromi interrupted gently, stroking your hair again.
His lopsided grin turned wolfish,  “Besides… I am sick; I think this is exactly what I need to heal.”
“If you insist.” You smacked him gently with a pillow to punctuate your words as you left the couch to rummage through the DVDs on the shelf. You even took the time to make another mug of tea for your boyfriend, but eventually, you were back and snuggled up against Hiromi, who gratefully accepted the mug you offered him.
His nose wrinkled unintentionally as he took a sip, “Thank you… but what is in this stuff?”
“It’s helping your throat, isn’t it? You poked his stomach playfully, and he groaned in response.
“Yes, but at what cost?” Hiromi huffed, but the slight twinkle in his eyes told you he wasn’t being serious.
“It’s throat coat tea, yet another remnant from my musical days,” you giggled. “I never liked the taste either, but it certainly gets the job done.”
With another flourish of the remote, you pulled up the recording of the show, and you swear you could feel Hiromi smiling behind you as he nursed the warm mug. As soon as the video started, he broke out into another laughter-induced coughing fit.
“Dear god, I’ve never seen so much pink in my entire life.”
“Oh, just you wait.” You threatened teasingly, “You haven’t even seen my character yet.”
Hiromi grasped his mug in one hand and used his other arm to pull you back against his chest, wrapping a blanket snugly around your body. You leaned fully against him, partially because you enjoyed the intimacy and partly because you wanted to see his reactions out of the corner of your eye.
His reactions did not disappoint, even though the video was grainy and clearly meant to be viewed through the rose-colored lenses of someone who was in the show. Hiromi grinned widely when you appeared on stage, murmuring almost too quietly for you to hear, “Cute…”
You blushed happily, and the show continued. He had many comments on how the Delta Nus seemed to share a hive mind and how much of a prick Warner was. He also very nearly choked on his tea when your character’s father proudly declared, “Law school is for boring, ugly, serious people!”
Hiromi glanced down at you after that line with a slight pout, and you took the opportunity to cup his cheek and pull him in for a soft kiss, tasting the tea and honey on his lips. “Mmm, don’t worry… You’re not boring, and you’re certainly not ugly. You can be rather serious… but I like that about you.”
Hiromi kissed the top of your head with a low, contented hum, absolutely convinced his heart was full enough to burst. He fell more in love with you with each passing day, and these past few days had only further sealed his fate. Even now, he was watching you sing and dance your heart out, and you were shining in the roll. The sassy, playfully cute, but deceptively intelligent lawyer was such a perfect role for you, and he quickly became frustrated with Warner. Seeing you so upset over such a stupid man hurt his heart, even though he knew you were acting…. and then Emmett was introduced.
“Now, I like that guy. He’s got the right idea, actually treating Elle decently.” Hiromi mused, playfully twirling a strand of your hair.
“Oh, really?” You grinned slyly. “He reminds me of you, you know.”
“It seems we share the same excellent taste in women.”
The movie was over a short while later, but Hiromi insisted on letting it play through curtain call so he could properly applaud your work. You rolled over to lay against his chest, peering inquisitively into his dark, beautiful eyes, “So you really liked it?”
“I loved it,” He assured you, pulling you in for another tea-flavored kiss. Suddenly, you could feel him grinning against your lips, “And I may buy you another one of those pink tweed skirt sets… it was cute on you.”
His deep chuckle only grew louder as you smacked him with another pillow.

Random Leon headcannons ♡

Leon listens to 'The Neighborhood' and 'Arctic Monkeys'. He occasionally throws in a little Elvis, too. His favorite songs are Void, Pretty boy (he secretly adores it when you call him that, he will never tell you though) Why'd you only ever call me when you're high, 505 and Devil in Disguise.
He loves, LOVES early 2000s rom coms. Think legally blonde, the proposal, 13 going on 30. It's such a guilty pleasure for him. Luis teases him about it a lot but Leon knows the shit Luis watches is way worse. (Luis is a hallmark movie enthusiast, fight me)
He is very insistent on a weekly game night with you, Ashley and Luis. Chris and Claire show up too, from time to time. He's such a sucker for boardgames, but if he loses... don't except kisses for the rest of the night. Most of the time he can't help himself though, he just has to kiss you. He seriously crumbles so fast when he's with you.
The biggest snorer out there. He has given you a heart attack or two at night. You gently nudge his leg and usually  he'll roll over and stop, pulling you close. He feels so, so guilty when you walk into the Kitchen with the darkest rings around your eyes because he kept you up with his snores. You assure him that it's fine and you'll just take a nap later. You're just happy that he's getting sleep.
His favorite season is summer. He loves going to the beach and swimming.(it's totally not because you wear skimpy summer clothes) Has played mermaids with you before, may have gotten a little handsy and made it the explicit version of mermaids. Lemon sorbet is his favorite summertime refreshment. He has definitely given you head after he had ice cream and put you on cloud nine. 100% collects shells for you.
He's such a dog person. It has to be a big dog, though. Like a Bernese mountain dog or a Newfoundland. He loves squishing their cute little face. Is the best dog daddy ever, he's so excited when he gets to cuddle with his fluffbuddy, and you of course. Having a dog gives him a feeling of domesticity that he's always longed for. He wouldn't mind a cat, he likes them and never passes on an opportunity to pet one but he's a dog person at heart. If you get him a puppy, he's the happiest man in the world.
Loves to have little kitchen dates with you, aka you cook dinner together and he twirls you around the kitchen and sways with the music. Usually a glass of wine is involved too. You're also wearing matching Pajamas.
Has such a sweet tooth. He looks like a BBQ chips kinda guy but he loooooves sweets. If you like baking and do it frequently he's on his knees. Refuses to eat any other baked good ever again because "they can't compare to yours". Do not leave your baked goods unattended, they will be gone by the end of the day.
Oddly, he enjoys going grocery shopping. He will always push the cart for you and pay. You have tried everything to convince him to let you pay but he straight up refuses and shuts it down immediately. He will spoil you to the high heavens, even if that means just paying for veggies lmao.  Again, there's something so domestic about going grocery shopping with you, it makes him so happy and fulfilled.
Huge Sleeper. Sure, if he has to get up early for his job or run on just a couple hours of sleep he can manage that just fine but he'd sleep for the whole day if you'd let him. On the Weekends, he does not get out of bed before 2 pm so won't you. He will have such an iron grip on you, leaving the warm embrace of the bed is impossible.

mad props! 04
summary: in the week leading up to the show, your grades begin to slip. whatever will you do... word count: 1820 a/n: hiii i rlly enjoyed writing this chapter bc some of the stuff in here has definitely happened to me lmao. if you feel up to it, reblog and tell me what your favorite song from any musical is in the tags! songs mentioned: 'Chip On My Shoulder' - Legally Blonde the Musical (Original Broadway Cast Recording) prev next
“Max, you’re a little flat, hun.”
The choir director pulled her shawl tightly around her as Max–the chosen casting for Emmett Forrest–ran through some of his sung lines for ‘Chip On My Shoulder’.
The brown-skinned, dark-haired boy was an excellent actor; he breathed life into the words on the script and delivered them with all the earnestness and humor required to play Emmett. Hell, he even improvised his own jokes.
But he couldn’t hold a note to save his life.
For some lines, Max could get away with half-singing, half-talking, but he was practically tone-deaf once the song got more involved. The choir director–Ms. Johnson–had to be called in to help get him somewhere that was at least within the ballpark of the correct pitch. His high notes remained painful to all present in the room, no matter what she did.
You huffed from your spot on the fake park bench, resisting the urge to scratch your scalp beneath the itchy wig. Everyone had heard the exact melody on the piano by now. Hear it, sing it. Like Spanish vocabulary, you couldn’t comprehend how people got that sort of thing wrong.
Harmonizing with Max went about as expected; you lost your place several times because of the distracting dissonance between your voice and his, like hearing a parrot and an eagle squawk at the same time.
Regardless, it was too late to recast Max now. He had a leading role with too many songs and lines to memorize.
“Alright, take five!” the director yelled with a clap of her hands.
A collective sigh could be heard as students dispersed for their well-earned water and bathroom breaks, the tension in the air dissipating. You stepped carefully off of the stage, when you heard a snicker in your direction.
Miles was in the middle of painting a cardboard sorority building in an obnoxious shade of hot pink, shaded with strokes of fuchsia and cyan that managed to work together somehow. You frowned at the fact that you couldn’t say anything bad about it.
The boy struggled to hold back a laugh, looking up as you stood over him with crossed arms.
“Something funny?”
Miles stood to meet your eyes, carelessly wiping bits of paint onto his pants.
“That frumpy-ass 613 wig you got on, for one,” he replied with a teasing grin. “Are you gonna wear that for the actual show?”
You rolled your eyes.
“No, for your information, I’m not. This is a placeholder wig,” you ripped it off of your head for emphasis. “Why are you even here, anyway? Don’t you got posters to make?”
In actuality, you knew about the art club lending some of its members to paint sets for the show. But you wanted to make sure Miles knew he was unwelcome.
“Just doin’ what I do best,” he shrugged. “You should be grateful for my sacrifice.”
You snorted, “What ‘sacrifice’?”
Miles jabbed his thumb behind him towards the left side of the stage, where Max was going over his lines. “I gotta listen to that nigga sing for over an hour. I’m sacrificing my time and my ears.”
Despite yourself, you laughed brightly at the comment, causing a more genuine smile to spread across Miles’ face. You looked pretty when you laughed.
“Oh my god, he sucks, right? Spent the whole damn song looking for the note.”
“Too late to replace him now, though. Show’s in two weeks.”
You nodded.
There was a brief pause before Miles asked, “So what made you sign up for theater? I was kinda surprised to see you on a stage.”
You gave him a wary look. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing,” he raised both hands in defense, “You just seemed like more of the quiet type, that’s all.”
I signed up to avoid you, you thought, but didn’t say aloud; That would’ve given him the satisfaction of knowing that you thought about him that much.
Instead, you answered, “I used to do theater at my old school. Got the lead part most of the time, if you can believe it.”
There was an arrogance in your voice as you said that last bit that soured Miles’ expression.
“I believe you, no need to convince me,” he said flatly. “Legally Blonde’s an interesting choice, though.”
You shrugged, “The part really lets me show my voice off, so...”
“Showin’ off,” Miles muttered beneath his breath, “Sounds like you.”
“Excuse me?”
Before you could start to argue, his eyes went wide, like he’d just heard a noise that no one else could hear.
“It was really nice talking to you, Y/N, but I gotta go,” he said, spinning on his heel and bolting towards the auditorium door. “Watch my stuff for me!”
Your jaw dropped in offense. Was he allowed to just bail on a club activity like that? And with the gall to ask you to watch his things for him. You totally did, though.
Once you got home, your feet throbbed and your muscles ached from all of the choreography. You were just barely out of your school uniform when you decided to lie down for a quick nap. Or what you thought was a ‘quick nap’.
The blaring of your alarm made your heart jump as your eyes flew open, half of your face damp with drool. The early morning washed over your room in a pale blue shade, and the sight would’ve relaxed you if not for the sudden realization that you weren’t in your pajamas.
You shot up, wiping the side of your face with your sleeve. Your Spanish and AP Physics notebooks were still strewn across your bed, along with several worksheets that had remained blank. Unfinished.
…Oh no.
Your heart was practically in your throat when you explained to Mr. Sanchez why you didn’t have any homework for him to collect.
The man noticed your glassy eyes, and held up a reassuring hand in the middle of your frantic explanation.
“That’s fine, it happens,” he said gently, “Just bring in the missing work tomorrow, and it’ll only be ten points off. Don’t make it a habit.”
He adjusted his glasses, and returned to grading the pile of worksheets on his desk as you trudged back to your desk, a pit forming in your stomach over those precious ten points.
“You good?” Miles asked as you sat down, concern coloring his features. He ran a finger over a small band-aid on his right temple. “You look like you’re about to cry.”
You buried your face in your arms on the desk.
“Nunya.”
He sighed, “I dunno why I even asked.”
Unfortunately for both you and Mr. Sanchez, missing assignments did, in fact, become a habit.
You began to spend more time lingering in the auditorium after everyone had left, practicing your line delivery. Adding little details, like extra hair flips or twirls. The spirit of Elle Woods had practically taken over your body.
You got home later and later into the evening, sometimes flopping down onto your bed and falling asleep before your head could even hit the pillow. This new ‘habit’ had you scribbling down vocab words and formulas in a frenzy, balancing your notebook on your lap on the bumpy bus ride to school. The flashcards that you had made for Mr. Sanchez’s class were now sitting untouched at the bottom of your bag.
By Friday, it landed you in front of his desk for office hours after you received your very first ‘F’.
“As you’ve probably noticed, Y/N, your grades have fallen a significant amount in a very short period of time, and I’m a little concerned,” Sanchez slid your weekly grade report towards you and placed his finger on your Spanish grade. “What’s going on? This is very unusual for a student like you.”
Your sweaty fingers clutched the sides of your seat as you stared down at the report. How did you let it get this bad? Elle Woods would never.
“I-I just…”
You shook your head. “I’ve just been busy with extracurriculars and stuff, so assignments slip my mind sometimes.”
“You’re having trouble balancing them with your schoolwork?”
“Yeah, basically,” you leaned forward, looking desperate. “Can I still re-take that quiz? I didn’t really get to study, and–”
“Oh! That’s actually what I called you in for, one second.”
Sanchez rose from his seat, and made his way over to the door.
“You know about our Study Buddy system, yes?”
You nodded slowly, skeptically. “Am I getting a ‘Study Buddy’?”
“Pre-cisely. Come in!”
He opened the door, and you almost groaned audibly at the lanky figure that appeared at the entrance.
Miles entered with a friendly smile on his face that dropped the second his eyes landed on you.
“Oh. You.”
The Spanish teacher sat back down and gestured towards him.
“Miles here is both a native speaker and beyond proficient in this class. He was so kind as to sign up for the program, so I thought it might be nice to pair him up with someone in the same period.”
Shocked into silence, you were unable to say anything other than a quiet “Okay” as you stared blankly in front of you.
Study buddies. With the guy who didn’t even study. This had to be some kind of sick joke.
“He’ll be giving up a bit of his lunch time to tutor you in my classroom. I’d also highly recommend you two study with each other after school as well, if you can make the time. Sound good?”
“Yes,” you both said in miserable unison.
“Well, that’s all,” Sanchez waved his hand. “You’re both dismissed. Have a lovely weekend!”
“You too!” you smiled tightly as you got up and made a beeline for the door, nearly bumping into Miles as you did so.
Your weekend would be anything but ‘lovely’.
You fixed Miles with a glare as soon as you got out into the hallway.
“I’m not giving up my lunch period for you,” you yell-whispered. “I hope you know that.”
He took a step towards you and fired back, “Neither of us have a choice, your highness. If we’re not both up here during lunch, I get in trouble, and you gotta take the L and fail this class.”
“I’d rather fail, then. I don’t give a fuck.”
“Oh?” he laughed mirthlessly. “You were in tears over a damn ‘89’. Makes no difference to me, but I think you do give a fuck.”
You opened your mouth to shoot back a rebuttal, then closed it. Miles raised an eyebrow.
“I’m lying?”
“...No.”
Miles leaned forward until he was only inches away from your face. “Then cooperate. Or we both lose.”
You sighed in defeat, “Fine.”
He nodded curtly, then left to go grab his things from his locker.
In a forced attempt at courtesy, you called out towards his back, “See you next week–”
“Whatever!”

Things in KOTLC universe that are canon, actually, I'm Shanon's keyboard
Keefe is not a natural blond. He started dying his hair in his second year.
When Fitz and Keefe were in their second year, a rumor arose that Biana was the result of an affair, and because Lord Cassius was starting to get associated with the Vackers through their son's friendship, he didn't want any rumors to spark about his own son. To make Keefe look more like him, Cassius had Keefe start dying his hair.
Sophie was named at birth Sophia, but since no one ever calls her that she accidentally gave Alden the name Sophie when her legal papers were being made. Now she's just gaslighting the entire lost cities into believing her name's Sophie and the only one who knows is Dex, Biana, and Tam.
Tam has a lisp. Keefe used to tease him about it until Tam shoved him down a flight of stairs.
Rayni has killed three people. The first time she used her ability, and for a while, she hoped that the black swan member survived, but later she learned through Tam he died. The second time she set someone on fire like how you can use a magnifying glass to start fires with light. The third time she stabbed a girl around her own age in the chest. Rayni held her hand as she bled out.
Rayni is the tallest out of the Solroof kids. She's five-seven, Wylie is five-six, Linh is five-two and Tam is five feet even.
During the time that Dex wasn't involved much, like around flashback, he hit a massive growth spurt and is almost as tall as Fitz, but because of his bad posture, he looks shorter.
Dex also didn't get a haircut for a while, so for a short period of time, he had a mullet off-screen.
Tam is trans ftm. He managed to keep it a secret from Tiergan and Wylie for a while, but when Tiergan had to enroll him in Foxfire he found out. By then, he had already come out to Rayni.
Tam and Linh didn't actually dye their hair with metal. They would occasionally sneak into the lost cities and shoplift out hair dye.
Tam and Linh talk to each other in Vietnamese when they want to have private conversations.
If we're going off the normal high school languages, (Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin) I think Sophie would choose German. If her school had extra, (I have a friend whose school offered Japanese, Arabic, ASL, and maybe some more, but she goes to a private school) I think Sophie would be on the fence between Arabic and ASL, before ultimately choosing Arabic. She read Frankenstein and saw Clerval's love for Arabic poetry and wanted to understand it herself, but at the same time, because she was always surrounded by noise, she liked the quiet. She picked Arabic because it would be more useful.
Upon manifesting as a Polyglot, Sophie really wanted to learn ASL but found out her ability wouldn't instantly make her fluent bc it wasn't something she heard.
Rayni talks to herself in Hindi
Wylie does actually know ASL, and Sophie was absolutely delighted. She made him teach her a bunch of words.
The Diznees speak to each other in English all the time, partly for privacy and partly to annoy their snotty customers.
Tam's dead name is Tien.
Tam and Linh both took piano lessons. Linh liked learning the music, but Tam preferred to either make stuff up or sound out his favorite songs. Later, Tam learned to play guitar, and he mostly played bass.
Rayni can play piano, violin, and cello. She wanted to be a musician and introduce more human-style music to the lost cities.
Rayni never graduated, but Tiergan tried to get her to return to Foxfire so she could enter the nobility.

Alright my friends it's pinned post time
First things first, WATCH THIS ANIMATIC if you haven't already, and if you have seen it watch it again it's so fucking good I thrive just remembering it exists
Anyway welcome to this blog where we promote ace staticradio, love Christian Borle, somehow make everything a legally blonde reference, and hoard AUs like candy. This is basically a place to organize said AUs for anyone new or who wants to remember details (aka me) with clickable links to their info
General Fanon/Backstory - myself - Does not have it's own tag yet but it's a mostly canon-compliant story I'm developing about Vox and Alastor's past/relationship before the 7 year disappearance - Original post
Dadstaticradio AU - credited to anons - Alastor's contract with Lilith has him babysitting/raising Charlie from a young age and when Vox gets involved she decides to set them up - Original Post, general tag
Swap AU - credited to anons - Alastor and Vox take the place of Charlie and Vaggie to run the hotel out of spite against Heaven. This was changed from the original but Vox is a fallen Overlord - Original post, general tag
Secretly Married AU - credited to anons - They were secretly married, got into a fight, and Alastor disappeared for 7 years they but never got divorced - Original post, general tag
Radio Guard AU - belongs to ⚔️ anon / @alastorsrchivesforthehotel - Alastor made a deal with Lucifer for power in return for needing to protect Charlie with his life. His relationship with Vox is very strained - Original post, general tag
Domestic AU - credited to anons - A combination between dadstaticradio and secretly married. In addition to Charlie, they have another kid named Vinyl - Original post, general tag, Vinyl's origin
AU Crossovers - General tag for when the AUs universes collide and they all interact with each other, eventually I'll get around to tagging them with their individuals as well - General tag, summary of their dynamics
High School AU - Belongs to the anon who goes by Gal - Original post for details, general tag
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Factory Tour AU - credited to anons - Mostly based on the musical, Vox as the head of Voxtek is wanting to retire and Charlie after meeting his standards helps him reconcile with estranged husband Alastor in the process - Original post, general tag
We also have a lovely fanfiction anon who occasionally shows up and writes the most amazing stuff and then dips out (and who now has a blog!)
With regards to all the legally blonde references, it started here when I was informed Vox's VA Christian Borle was Emmett and it all spiraled from there. General tag (I might have missed a few bc it took me forever to think of something that wouldn't be in the main musical tab)
If I missed anything pls tell me, I'll update this as time goes on, but we have such an amazing community on this blog and I'm so grateful for the creativity people have shared, love you all and hope if you're new that you enjoy your stay < 3

Hazbin Hotel/Legally Blonde Crossover Au! :0
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t even know if anybody else will see the vision/ comparison but I was obsessed with the LB musical when I was younger and Charlie just reminds me so much of Elle woods maybe it the stubborn optimism or just how both are so supportive of people around them and trying to help others idk but I just thought it would work so well (also they’re both blonde lmao )
My idea of how everyone would fit into this AU:
Okay so Charlie, for the reasons previously mentioned, is Elle woods. I thought of Adam and Lute being the Warren and Vivian roles but like… Charlie and Adam where not not dating. Idk what the specific reason would be for Charlie to go to law school just that Adam inspires it by not taking Charlie seriously, and then once they get to law school Lute is like basically her bully and standing with Adam (whether Adam and Lute are involved romantically is up to personal interpretation ig). Emmett’s role would be split up between two characters with the romantic interest part taken by Vaggie and the mentoring being taken by Husk but both are supportive of Charlie in helping her reach her law-er-ing goals. Alastor would be professor Callahan (probably with out the SA like in the original musical :’)) but yeah like blood in the water is very alastor in that “I’m gonna mentor you but manipulate at the same time” way. This is also why I thought it’d make sense for Husk to play a part in the Emmett role, since Emmett is kind of stuck to Callahan but is believes in Elle’s ability (which I think Husk does too towards the end of season 1 which is nice).
As for the big Wyndham trial it would basically be The Vees V. Angel Dust. Angel is the defendant (Brook Wyndham) who is accused of murdering Valentino (Hayworth Wyndham) but won’t give any information or alibi and won’t take a plea deal. I think it would make more sense but maybe be less impactful if Husk got him to confess he was innocent as opposed to Charlie (idk maybe both Husk and Charlie get him to say smth idk???) I think it would be funny tho if Angel wishes he did but is innocent and pissy about it for a bit.
Velvette maybe stands in as the pool boy but maybe instead of hinting at an affair like in the original it’s more having to do with Angel’s contract with Val and trying to work for Velvette but turns out it a baseless allegation and Velvette don’t not give af about Angel just tryna take shit off of Vox.
Speaking of! Lastly Vox would be the role of Chutney, and it would ultimately be revealed he killed Val thinking it was Angel. (The reason for tryna kill him is probably smth petty idk)
There are a lot of character I couldn’t think of concrete roles for but this was just a silly idea I had last night while listening to ready for this (like bruhhhh Charlie is so Elle woods especially the beginning) idk I hope it make sense somewhat or at the very least someone else finds it funny lol

A History and Legacy of Legally Blonde
(It's done, I can die happy)
An Introduction
For over twenty years, Legally Blonde has been the King- or rather, Queen- of the chick-flick/rom-com world, having reigned supreme over the “girly movies” kingdom ever sinced it first graced cinema screens in 2001. Reese Witherspoon’s wonderful portrayal of sorority president-turned attorney Elle Woods created a veritable zeitgeist of Pink and Powerful. Legally Blonde has become the feminist film that inspires future law students and teenage sleepover-havers alike.
While it wasn’t always intended to be the cinematic masterpiece that it became, and, in fact, started in a way that likely wouldn’t have been quite such the feminist classic, it grew and developed during production; It went from something that could cause questions to be asked as to whether Legally Blonde as we know it should be held on a feminist pedestal, to a heartfelt vision that inspired so many of its regular re-watchers for two decades and more.
Herein is an exploration of the book that inspired the film, how the characters and the story developed as the film was made, and how Reese Witherspoon became so heavily involved- and influential- in the film’s success. Moreover, how the Harvard Class of 2004 encouraged so many young women into following the mantra of “what would Elle Woods do?”
What is the legacy of Legally Blonde? How did it end up with so much staying power? Here is the story of Elle Woods and how she became a cultural icon, and how she created a generation.
A History
The Book
Legally Blonde started its life as the book of the same name, a novelisation of author Amanda Brown’s experiences at Stanford University. The plot is largely unchanged- a pretty sorority girls goes to law school in pursuit of love- but there are swathes of differences in how the novel plays out, from plot details to characterisation of the main character. While the novel is hard to track down, an article by Cracked outlines the major differences between the book and the movie. In “Movie Differences: Elle Woods In The ‘Legally Blonde’ Book Is A Monster,” Amanda Manning opines that “[i]t’s hard to imagine a more perfect person than Elle Woods” in reference to the film character, but that “[l]iterary Elle Woods is manipulative, narcissistic, lazy, entitled, and excruciatingly judgmental.”
In terms of plot changes, Elle doesn’t seem to have the same studious drive, as Manning describes how “Movie Elle is humiliated” by her lack of understanding of the new, more “rigorous” academic world she now finds herself whereas “Book Elle didn't even buy the books and intentionally blew off the reading.”
While what Manning presents is truly a scathing review, it also proves the stark contrast between the Elle that is and the version that once was.
The Film
Just as with the book, early development of the film took the story on a journey that was crucial in it’s becoming something almost separate entirely from the book. Unlikely director Robert Luketic was an edgy film school major, who changed his tone was a ten-minute musical about an Italian woman, Titsiana Booberini who “has a hairy upper lip and (…) works in a supermarket where she battles the prettier girls for the affections of the handsome assistant manager,” according to an article on the Wayback Machine on the Internet Archive, originally from the Denver Center of Performing Arts.
MGM, the company that produced Legally Blonde, were apparently under the impression that the film “was going to be much more wet T-shirts and boobs than it actually turned out to be,” according to Luketic. The name Titsiana Booberini from Luketic’s previous work truly implies that MGM’s assumptions were correct. Early versions of the script were raunchier and edgier and were comparable to American Pie. Kirsten Smith, who along with Karen McCullah, wrote the film has stated "It transformed from nonstop zingers that were very adult in nature to this universal story of overcoming adversity by being oneself,” (Smith).
In fact, the plot originally did not include Paulette or Emmett, and ended with Elle entering a relationship with a professor, likely Callaghan.
While we can never know for certain, I find it highly likely that the original version of Legally Blonde would have become a rather forgettable summer romp in the typical “wet T-shirts and boobs” category, and we can thank God it changed.
Or rather, we can thank Luketic, Smith, and McCullah, and also Reese Witherspoon herself. It was Smith and McCullah who reworked the script, it was Luketic who fought for Reese, and it was Reese who knew her character well enough to make her who she is.
The writing dynamic duo Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah were great friends before, having written 10 Things I Hate About You. They cite inspiration from Clueless, according to Blue Bear Magazine. Clearly, they knew what they were doing in the world of fun, fresh, and funky feminist films, and creating iconic rom-coms that put twists on the classics. The duo went on to contribute to Ella Enchanted, She’s the Man, and other classics that get referenced at every sleepover since they came out.
Director Robert Luketic, though he started his film education wanting to create something “edgy,” breaking the film school mold with Titsiana Booberini set the tone for him to emerging into a career in rom-coms such as The Ugly Truth, staring Katherine Heigl and Gerrard Butler, and Killers, starring Katherine Heigl again, this time with Ashton Kutcher, as well as episodes of Jane the Virgin, among other projects. While I am not overly familiar with these films, it is clear that Luketic has an understanding for a genre often marketed in Elle Woods-approved pink.
A film of this nature was clearly in good hands, and it is this team that truly made the masterpiece we all know and love today.
The trio have worked together also on the previously mentioned The Ugly Truth, which is testament to their teamwork.
But truly one of the biggest contributions to the project was Elle herself, as Reese Witherspoon is truly what made the film and th character both so iconic.
Reese Witherspoon
Luketic actually had to fight for Reese, as, given her last movie had been Election, she was believed by bosses at MGM to be similar to that character. Witherspoon told The Hollywood Reporter that MGM though she was “a shrew,” due to having been typecast in their eyes. However, Luketic remained convinced that Witherspoon was the right choice for the role, despite suggestions including Britney Spears, Katherine Heigl, and Alicia Silverstone among others.
The Hollywood Reporter article, again found on the Wayback Machine, titled “How Reese Witherspoon Took Charge of Her Career and Changed Hollywood,” relays Witherspoon’s involvement in Hollywood, and it is noted that for Legally Blonde that: “[s]he endured multiple rounds of auditions for Legally Blonde, at one point meeting with executives in character (complete with a Southern California accent) to show that she could ace the part.”
It is baffling to think that she had to fight for it. But as Elizabeth Gabler, head of Fox in 2000 noted, Witherspoon “doesn’t give up,” and if that isn’t the attitude of an Elle Woods, then what is?
Witherspoon said of Elle that: “(…)your first instincts is to discount women who put a lot of effort into their looks as maybe not serious about their job or maybe not serious about their relationships ... I think everyone naturally jumps to those conclusions(…)”
To me, there is a clear understanding of where Elle stands in the world, and how she wants to prove that she’s passionate about anything she sets her mind to. What strikes me especially is her telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2001 that, even though the word “fluffy” was used, Witherspoon stated “[she] take[s] it as seriously as [she] would any other movie.” Moreover, she did her research, having dinner with sorority girls in what she referred to as “an anthropological study.”
Reese Witherspoon became Elle Woods because she understood her internally. She immersed herself in the world that Elle is from and learned the differencs between the sorority girls and herself- the good, the bad, and the blonde of it all.
The Legacy
The team behind Legally Blonde truly created a masterpiece- a piece of art that has been inspiring a legion of creative and intellectual minds, and has been constantly doing so since 2001. In 2017, Reese Witherspoon told Wall Street Journal Magazine that “[at]t least once a week [she has] a woman come up to [her] and say ‘I went to law school because of Elle Woods.’”
Witherspoon was also handed a copy of entertainment reporter Lucy Ford’s college dissertation, that, in true Elle fashion, Ford presented to her in a pink ribbon. Elle’s own resumé being printed on pink paper and scented helps her stand out and be remembered, and Elle is a great believer in presentation and details, and it is an excellent lesson to take away from the movie. I’ll confess to personally making my CV pink too, because if it’s Elle-approved, it’s me-approved too.
There are a myriad of ways that Elle Woods has been inspirational to its steams of viewers. The article How Legally Blonde Influenced a Generation of Women Lawers on abajournal.com relays the range of the Elle Effect, noting both a friend of writer Haley Moss’ having bought a chihuahua because of Elle’s beloved Bruiser and the “plethora” of young women on social media. Some of said women were cited to have ‘thought the LSATs were possible’ thanks to Elle, and some of them were ‘just seeking fashion advice.”
So many voices have been added to the conversation about what a woman can be, having been inspired by Elle, as family law attorney Layla Summers told Spectrum News “When I watch the movie now I feel like I'm part of a great club of powerful professional women, like a sorority.”
This is a movie of joining women together from any walk of life and lifting them up.
The Lawyers
People.com also shares the legacy of Legally Blonde in the article lengthily titled “'Legally Blonde' Is 'Still' Inspiring People to Go to Law School – Plus, How Reese Witherspoon is Celebrating the Film's 15th Anniversary.”
It tells the stories of women who went to law school due to Elle and who connected to the character. Beginning with Shalyn Smith, the sorority president says she felt people would underestimate her ambitions for a career in law, “despite the fact that she had a 4.0.”
The article also features a series of tweets to a similar affect such as @kenzamae20 who tweeted at Reese Witherspoon directly saying “If Elle Woods can do law school I think I can too,” and @Gab_Tamburri who tweeted “I relate to Elle Woods in so many ways and honestly want to be like her when I get to law school.”
The Creators
The women of the legal profession have taken to the internet in droves under a pink flag waved by Reese Witherspoon herself too, as many other articles address. People.com spoke to Kathleen Martinez relays how in previous jobs sh was told that she should “dress more ‘consertavely’” and to ‘make [her male bosses] coffee,’” but npw she’s the head of her own immigration law team. She’s the head of a team of largely immigrants who are also mostly pink-loving women too. The article also points out that she held an “over-the-top Legally Blonde themed party” for everyone at her firm, so Elle’s influence and Legally Blonde’s Legacy are blatant and cannot be overstated.
In fact, the legacy is continuing, as Martinez has an impressive internet presence, with viral TikToks with 4.5 million views, and 1 million followers.
Mirror.co.uk also tells the story of Lowri Rose-Williams who spoke on how she feels ‘people assume she’s “an airhead” before they find out she’s a law student. She also relays that her experiences on OnlyFans contribute to the points of view that surround her as “many assume girls who use the app are ‘brainless.’”
Rose-Williams also expresss that “when people actually get to know [her] they change their mind,” which to me is certainly evocative of Elle.
A creator that I am a big fan of is Christina Stratton, who, in an article by Business Insider stated "I think back to the first day of college, and I would have never been bold enough to post an outfit of the day (…) I would have been too nervous about what all of my college friends would think.”
And yet now, she has a follower count in the hundreds of thousands, and is dubbed another “real life Elle Woods,” and while the article focuses on how she makes money from her brand deals, it is from her evocation of Elle Woods that her numbers have been garnered. Stratton wears almost exclusively pink in her videos, has a perfectly Bruiser-like tiny poodle, and has an Elle-tastic perky attitude that shows that she lives like Elle.
There is something about the unapologetically authentic aura of Elle Woods, from her optimism to her feminism, to her pinkness, that just appeals to people in so many ways. Elle Woods is who she is and becomes an even stronger version of herself, never changing for anyone. That’s who everyone who feels connected to her wants to be. Legally Blonde’s legacy is that of women who feel like they can do anything they want to, and do it in a heel. It evokes Dolly Parton’s famous line of “go big or go home, either way do it in a red pair of shoes,” but here they’re hot pink- but equally designed for stomping.
My Girlies
I reached out to my followers too to see what mymost supportive queens had to say, and it was plenty. naranjahtikal said: “I want to go to law school because of Elle! I also want to own a future textile company. I love the internal and external balance that Elle portrays as a woman.”
princessaninhas also responded, saying:
“I always wanted to be a nurse but people always told me that I didn't have the profile for that, they judged me by my way of being and dressing, they said I wasn't smart enough, there was a time when I was the only one who got all the answers right on a test (because I studied a lot) and the teacher said I was "lucky".Elle Woods taught me that we shouldn't care what others think, we should be ourselves and we shouldn't change our way of being to be what others want💕”
It is clear that Elle’s influence and the legacy of Legally Blonde are far-reaching and widespread. Legally Blonde inspires and Elle Woods represents having it all. You can be girly and twirly and kickass all at one, from law school to textiles, “we shouldn’t care what others think,” and we have to do things we want to do for ourselves.
A Conclusion
So, ultimately, what would Elle Woods do? I think the answer is that she would overcome a past that caused her to be overlooked and do what no one expected her to, creating a longlasting legacy for years to come.
Just as the story of Elle Woods is one of being overlooked for being too blonde for law school, only to set her eyes on the White House in Legally Blonde 2, the story of Legally Blonde is that of a movie that overcame murky origins and fought to become a feminist classic and went on to be the talk of the town in it’s twenty-second year since it’s release.
Thank you to Robert Luketic, Karen McCullah Lutz, Kristen Smith, and Reese Witherspoon among everyone else behind this most magical of films, and may we continue as a community of pink-loving, feminine feminists to keep the momentum going for those who came after us, becase that really is what Elle Woods would do.

There! Right, There! - Legally Blonde the Musical
"There's no way"
"I'm serious George. I'm right, just look at his socks"
"They are just socks Alex! Right, Lando?"
Lando hadn't been paying attention to the conversation going on around him. He'd been busy answering his texts, smiling at his phone and occasionally sending memes to Max F.
"What? Your old man socks? Those a sin against nature, mate", Lando teased, feeling proud as Alex laughed while George just gave him an unimpressed look.
"Not my socks, twit. Daniel's", George rolled his eyes before he looked pointedly at their co-worker on the other side of the break room, "Alex thinks that because Daniel's socks have pink in them, that Daniel swings your way"
"And George here, thinks that the way Daniel practically sits in Verstappen's lap every break time is straight man behavior", Alex defended, "I don't normally get involved in these things, but come on. You can't tell me that the way Daniel is currently looking at Max is straight"
Lando looked up from his phone again to glance across the teachers staff room to where Daniel was, indeed, giving Max heart eyes. The two physical education teachers were always the talk of the staff room or the class room with teachers and students often betting about if they were dating. Daniel, ever the jokester, loved it, and Max went along with it because it made Daniel laugh and it mainly cause he enjoyed causing chaos.
"I have to side with Alex", Lance chimed in as he sat at their table with a mug of coffee and Lando didn't understand how the French teacher survived on just caffeine alone, "Just look at the way he does his hair"
"He has curls? I literally have curls?", Lando laughed as he stole one of Alex's crisps.
"And who made out with the old Spanish teacher at the Christmas Party last year?", Esteban, the food science teacher, pointed out as he joined them, forcing a plate of food in front of Lance, "Coffee isn't lunch, Stroll, don't argue with me"
"Well, I just don't see it! He's just Australian", George huffed, running a hand through his hair, "They can be eccentric. None of these things mean Daniel is queer"
The people at the table hummed because George had a point. There really was no way to judge what Daniel preferred in a partner from how he dressed or acted, but Lando knew one way to settle the matter once and for all.
"Right, I have an idea, bear with me", Lando whispered to the group before turning in his chair, "Dan, come here a second!"
Daniel's head turned towards them and his smile was all sunshine. He patted Max on the shoulder, before standing from the table they were at and crossing the room to stand behind Lando. Everyone was watching them, especially as Lando crooked a finger so Daniel leaned down.
It was then that Lando reached up, cupped a hand around Daniel's neck and pulled him down into a soft kiss making the other's go quiet as they stared with wide eyes.
"Are we still on for dinner with my parents and yours tomorrow?", Lando asked as he pulled away, cheeks flushing a little at having been bold enough to do that and out them to their co-workers.
"Of course, honey bunch", Daniel grinned, kissing Lando's cheek once more, "I'll pick you up after I finish with football practice, yeah?"
"Okay, sounds perfect", Lando agreed, kissing the other's cheek and staring at him softly, "See you later then"
Daniel just laughed, waving at the others before making his way back to Max and continuing their conversation as if he hadn't just helped Lando break the entire staff of their school.
"What the-"
"Does that settle your questions?", Lando grinned, glancing down at his phone to see another text from Daniel that was made up of just kissy face emoji's.
"Yes and no!", George exclaimed, looking shocked, "I have so many more questions now"
Luckily, the first warning bell rang, giving Lando the escape he needed as he cackled at the bewildered looks on his friends faces.

21 Chaos
Tumblr media
MCU/Peter P. x reader
Summary: Its you 21st birthday… and it didn’t go quiet as you’d thought.
A/N- First fic involving a characterrrrr TEE-HEE
————————————————————————
So far, my 21st birthday was complete and utter shit.
My boyfriend, Peter, had left before I’d even got up and didn’t even text or leave a note saying anything to me.
My parents, family and friends haven’t texted all day, except for a few questions, completely void of any recollection that it was the day I was born.
And my boss was on me all day at the diner I work at.
“Hey Annie. I’m clocking out.” I told my boss gently while she worked in her office. She nodded. “Yeah, ok, have a good day Kelly.”
I sighed, I’m not Kelly, and tossed my uniform into my locker before leaving the diner and headed towards the closest bar. I needed a drink.
A legal drink.
“Could I get a Jack and Coke?” I heavily sat on an unoccupied bar stool, looking up at a blonde woman only a few years older than me behind the bar.
She narrowed her eyes at me. “Can I see some ID?”
I nodded and pulled out my drivers license and slid it across the counter to her. She looked up and smiled. “Happy birthday.” She winked.
I raised my eyebrows with a small huff and a not so real smile. “Thanks.”
“Jack and Coke coming up birthday girl.”
I nodded my head along to the loud upbeat music playing in the back corner.
“There you go.” The bartender set my drink down in front of me and I moved it closer to me. “Anything else I can get you?” She wondered.
“No. Thank you.” I smiled. She nodded and went off to serve someone else.
I finished my drink in less than two minutes.
The bartender came back and I asked for a refill.
I was on my third drink when my phone vibrated in my back pocket. When I pulled it out I noticed it was from Peter.
Peter: hey baby! Sorry I didn’t wait for you this morning, had to be in early, heading home in 30. See you soon❤️
I sighed and slipped my phone into my purse so I couldn’t see any new messages. I wasn’t going to be home in thirty minutes.
I finished my third drink faster than the second.
“Damn birthday girl. You’re really knocking them back.” The same bartender leaned on the counter in front of me. I nodded and slid my glass towards her. “Another.” I requested, already feeling the alcohol take effect.
“Bad day?” She asked while fixing me another drink. I nodded, and propped my head up in my hand. “You can tell me.. bartenders are often the output for people’s problems.”
I inhaled deeply. “No ones wished me happy birthday. Not even my mom. I mean, she’s the one who pushed me out of herself twenty one years ago.” I rolled my eyes. “And my boyfriend,” I chuckled a bit. “He’s wonderful and all, but he hasn’t spoken to me all day, I haven’t even seen him yet. He left before I woke up.” I took a sip of my newly replenished drink after she set it down. “Just thought he’d care a little more.”
“Y’know what?” She said, sliding her hand across the counter to place it over mine. “Fuck him. He doesn’t deserve such a sweet thing as yourself.” She winked. I smiled genuinely.
——
I don’t remember what time I got to the bar, but it was now 11:29pm and I was unsteadily walking up the stairs of my apartment building. Maybe I should’ve taken the elevator.
I got frustrated while wrestling my keys into the deadbolt. When I did finally unlock the door I all but stumbled inside and closed the door rather loudly.
“Fucking door.” I sighed, tossing my keys onto the kitchen counter and toed off my shoes while hanging my purse on the coatrack. I removed my phone from it after it was hung up.
Peter: hey are you okay?
Peter: when are you getting home?
Peter: working late?
Peter: I’ll see you when you get home
Peter: I love you
I sighed and put my phone on the kitchen counter beside my keys before going to flop heavily on the couch with a grunt.
I stared at the far wall where all the plants I’d bought last year were.
Why didn’t anyone remember my birthday? It gets more and more insignificant every year but this one’s a big deal. I’d looked forward to it so much.
I remember hearing about how some people went bar hopping with a whole group of friends, or about how people went out to strip clubs.
I’d always thought my friends would do that for me. But I guess not.
I inhaled and sighed heavily.
“Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meeee, happy birthday to me.” I sang in a slow slur. A tear rolled out of my eye and down my warm skin.
“Y/n?” Peters voice floated into the room and I froze, not moving. I even held my breath. “Y/n, it’s like 12am what’re you doing up?” He leaned over the back of the couch and rubbed a hand over my arm. I flinched away and sat up quickly, slipping off of the leather couch and onto the floor with a small “oof.”
“Are you okay?” He asked. I looked up with narrowed eyes. “I’m fine.” I got up and unsteadily walked towards our bedroom.
Peter watched. “Hey,” he took my wrist and I looked back at him. “What’s going on with you?” He asked.
“I got drunk.” I tugged my arm from his hand. “That’s what’s going on with me.”
I caught a glimpse of the time off of the microwave in the kitchen when I turned away from a very tired Peter. 12:09.
“Drunk?” He asked, following me. I nodded and leaned on the wall. My head was starting to hurt.
How many drinks did I have again?
“You never get drunk, what the hell happened today?”
My eyes were welling with tears as I stared at the floor in the dark hallway. “What the hell happened?” I asked. “What the hell happened is that you left before i even got to kiss you goodbye, and, and my boss was on my ass all day about stupid things, and… no one even texted me! Not one person texted me to say “hey y/n, happy fucking twenty first birthday”!” I pushed off the wall and got up in Peter face while I ranted about my day in drunken tears.
I couldn’t see very well through my blurred vision and the darkness of the hallway but I could tell that peters expression had fallen.
“And don’t even say anything about all of this… ‘cause it won’t make it better.”
I stared down at my feet and cried. Peters hands found my waist and pulled my body into his. He wound his strong arms around me tightly and held onto me. I didn’t hug back.
“I wanna go to bed.” I told Peter when I’d calmed down a bit. He loosened his arms and I walked away to our bedroom.
I peeled my shirt and pants off. Leaving me in my tank top and underwear before crawling into bed.
I felt Peter join me. He didn’t close the distance between us like normal. He was probably just giving me space. It was probably best.
I’m so glad I don’t have work tomorrow. That would make everything terrible. Or, more terrible than it already is.
——
In the morning I woke up with probably one of the worst headaches ever.
The room was thankfully dark when I opened my eyes. And there was a glass of water on my bedside table with two Tylenols.
I groaned while reaching for both once I sat up.
My bare feet touched down to the cold wood floor, making me shiver, while I found one of Peters sweatshirts and put it over my body before walking down the hallway to the kitchen.
I wasn’t expecting to see Peter there but he was, leaning against the counter staring at the floor. Lost in thought. I looked to the right of him and the coffee maker was brewing away.
“Good morning.” He smiled, looking over when he heard one of the floorboards announce my entering of the room. I smiled back and went to sit across the bar from him on a barstool.
“Thought you had work.” I said. He shook his head. “I have Fridays off.”
I nodded.
“Sorry for coming home late.” I said, rubbing the left side of my face while it rested in my hand.
Peter pushed off of the counter where he was leaning and rounded the counter to settle between my parted legs, placing his hands on my thighs. “Don’t apologize. I should be doing that.” He whispered, forehead to mine.
I sighed and nodded a little.
“I’m sorry I left early without a note, and I’m sorry, so so sorry, I forgot your birthday. There’s not excuse for that and believe me im still beating myself up about it.” He said it all in a hushed tone. He sounded afraid almost. I put an assuring hand on his waist. “I love you so much y/n.” He finished, pressing our foreheads together. His hands squeezed at my thighs and I tightened my grip on where my hand was on his waist.
“I forgive you… a little. Give me a few hours.” I joked, giving a small smile. Peter softly laughed.
He slid his hands around to my lower back so that we didn’t have anymore space between us. Our chests moved together whenever we’d breathe and I could feel his heartbeat.
“I really am sorry.” He murmured into my neck. “I know.” I replied. “I’m sorry too.”
“For what?” Peter asked. “For blowing up on you. I shouldn’t have yelled.” I answered. “You don’t deserve that.”
I could barely remember last night, but I do remember yelling in the hallway. I closed my eyes to try and think of something different.
“I forgive you.” He said, kissing my neck. I hummed.
“You better.”

To romanticise academia
Dressing cute
What does dressing cute have to do with your studies? Starting with looking good to make you feel good and creating self love and self positivity.
Motivation
The think that creates struggles to study is having the lack of motivation. Instead of being in your room always going to a café and changing the scenery creates a whole new sense of feeling and productivity! A clean desk is the first step to success.
Actually doing work
People would usually do all of the steps to create an enjoyable studying space, that they lost track of time and not get any work done. Starting as soon as possible with the hardest to easiest tasks helps create the perfect flow in order to finish your tasks.
Background music
This is completely optional but classical musics or brain musics may help the brain feel productive and focus. Avoiding music like rap, rock, indie, etc to not get distracted. Musics with lyrics in them tends to make your study sessions into singing sessions, using a classical music playlist on Spotify or any of your option of music platform to avoid getting distracted by your favourite artists.
Movies that help motivate studies
Watching movies that heavily focuses on academia such as
Gilmore girl's
Legally blonde
The queen's gambit
Anne with an E
The devil's wear prada
The theory of everything
Personally when I watch a movie involving a high achieving, academic validation character or just straight up smart, rich characters motivates me to study even more to be just like them.
Study techniques
If you study for 5 hours with no breaks chance's are, you'll forget everything very quickly! Taking small breaks lik 10 minutes every hour or two and getting up from you seat to stretch will help not only your blood flow in order to avoid cramps, but also refresh the mind to process what you're learning and or have learned!

Music Video Analysis
Part 1: "thank u, next"
youtube
Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" music video is a vibrant homage to iconic romantic comedy movies, including "Mean Girls," "Legally Blonde," "13 Going on 30," and "Bring It On." In the video, Grande recreates memorable scenes from these films while infusing them with her own unique style and narrative, inviting famous friends and other celebrities that have been connected to her to reference her life within these recreations. Throughout the video, Grande reflects on themes of personal growth, self-love, and empowerment, and cleverly addresses her own love life and the public's fascination with it. Having publicly addressed her love for old rom-coms, she also celebrates the strength and resilience of female protagonists from the rom-coms she references. The video showcases Grande's creativity and artistic vision, as she embraces her independence and confidently moves forward after experiencing heartbreak. Overall, "thank u, next" is a visually captivating and empowering tribute to both iconic movies and Grande's own journey of self-discovery.
Deleuze explores the complex interplay between repetition, generality, and law, challenging traditional philosophical notions. Deleuze emphasizes “repetition and generality are distinct; repetition involves non-exchangeable singularities, while generality allows for exchange or substitution of terms.”(1) For him, repetition is not about replicating identical instances but rather about the emergence of difference within a repeated pattern. He argues that genuine repetition involves the recurrence of non-identical elements or singularities, which he terms "difference in itself." This notion of difference disrupts traditional conceptions of identity and sameness, highlighting the dynamic and unpredictable nature of repetition.
Each segment of the “thank u, next” music video references iconic romantic comedy movies, and represents a repetition of familiar narratives and tropes. However, rather than simply replicating these stories, Grande infuses them with her own unique perspective and experiences. We see this from the very start, when she recreates the iconic introduction of the character Regina George from “Mean Girls” (0:00:01). While the general idea and tone of the scene remains the same, she replaces Regina with herself, and inserts many references from her own life that were considered scandalous by the media, poking fun at the public’s interest. In another shot, still as Regina, Grande is scrapbooking in the famous Burn Book from “Mean Girls” (0:00:43), but instead of writing nasty secrets like the original movie does, she pays homage to her previous relationships with nothing but love and respect, aligning with the lyrics of each ex while she flips the page from one ex to the next. These reinterpretations of familiar narratives highlight Deleuze's notion of difference within repetition. Despite drawing inspiration from existing cultural tropes, Grande introduces new elements and perspectives, allowing for the emergence of difference and novelty within the repeated patterns.
Tumblr media
Baudrillard examines the dominance of consumption and the signifier in capitalist societies, exploring how “postmodern communication technologies, principally television, are said to flood the world with self-generating, self-mirroring images; and experience” (2). He contrasts simulation with representation, arguing that simulation has replaced representation, challenging conventional notions of reality and power dynamics. Images no longer reflect reality but create their own hyperreal realm, blurring the boundaries between real and simulated experiences. His work offers a critical perspective on the impact of hyperreality, highlighting the complexities of navigating between real and simulated realms.
In "thank u, next", Grande’s idealization of high school culture and romantic comedy (rom-com) tropes contributes to the construction of a hyperreal world, resonating with Jean Baudrillard's concept of simulation. The video references iconic high school movies like "Mean Girls" and "Bring It On," as well as rom-com classics such as "Legally Blonde" and "13 Going on 30," embodying specific tropes and narratives associated with adolescence and romantic relationships. She blurs the line of reality and simulation consistently. In one instance, Grande pays homage to the movie “Legally Blonde”, where she replaces the main character, Elle, with herself. When she talks to Jennifer Coolidge in a montage referencing the iconic hair salon, who originally plays Paulette in the film, she talks about her real life relationship as Ariana Grande, while Coolidge fully embodies her original character and responds as Paulette (0:03:20). With this exaggerated and hilarious reference to the movie, Grande’s using these classic rom-com scenes to explore her own reality ends up contributing to the construction of a hyperreal realm, where the boundaries between reality and fiction are blurred, and images and narratives take on a heightened, almost surreal quality. Baudrillard argues that in hyperreality, signs and symbols no longer represent anything real but instead simulate reality itself. Grande's idealization of high school culture and rom-com tropes in "thank u, next" contributes to the construction of a hyperreal world, where the boundaries between reality and fiction are blurred, and images and narratives take on a life of their own in the realm of popular culture.

Fredric Jameson explores the impact of postmodernism on social, economic, and cultural changes, challenging the idea of a 'post-industrial' phase and highlighting capitalism's expanded hegemony. He argues that capitalism's power has intensified throughout the years, and examines how changes in capitalism's mode of production relate to new forms of cultural production, identifying postmodernism in literature, music, film, and environments as characterized by surface, pastiche, and paranoia. He discusses pastiche as a key element in postmodernism, representing a neutral mimicry without parody's satirical impulse, reflecting a shift towards stylistic diversity.
Fredric Jameson's analysis of postmodernism within the framework of consumer society underscores the dominance of capitalism in shaping cultural production and consumption. In his essay, he critiques the notion of a distinct 'post-industrial' phase, arguing instead for the expanded hegemony of capitalism. He highlights how changes in the mode of capitalist production influence cultural forms and expressions. The video itself is a product of the entertainment industry, driven by commercial interests and profit motives. It serves as a form of cultural commodity produced and consumed within a capitalist system. The references to iconic romantic comedy movies in the music video can be seen as part of a broader cultural phenomenon where nostalgia is commodified and marketed to consumers. The inclusion of many famous celebrities as the other stars in the video also highlight this obvious tactic of gaining consumer's attention. Fredric Jameson's exploration of postmodernism also offers insights into how Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" music video engages with this cultural phenomenon. Postmodernism, characterized by Jameson as a cultural shift towards surface, pastiche, and a blurring of boundaries between reality and fiction, resonates with various aspects of the music video. Grande's incorporation of references to iconic romantic comedy movies and high school culture embodies the postmodern tendency towards pastiche, where cultural elements are borrowed and recontextualized without necessarily critiquing or subverting them. While she does use them to focus on the story of her own life, the original elements of the rom-com movies aren’t particularly built on. The stylized and exaggerated portrayal of these cultural tropes reflects a focus on surface aesthetics and a blurring of the distinction between original and copied content.

Part 2: "Freedom! '90"
youtube
"Freedom! '90" is not just a music video but a statement of artistic intent by George Michael, featuring iconic supermodels (ie. Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford) lip-syncing the song's lyrics without himself into the video. This decision to have the models represent him was a way to signal his desire to break free from the manufactured pop star image that had defined his earlier career. The video is visually captivating, with the models of all different looks exuding confidence and attitude as they strut and pose in an abandoned mansion. Their presence symbolizes not only glamor and beauty but also a sense of power and independence. By placing the focus on these iconic figures rather than himself, George Michael effectively distances himself from his previous image and asserts his autonomy as an artist. Thematically, the video explores concepts of liberation and authenticity. It represents a departure from the glossy, commercialized imagery typically associated with pop music videos of the time. Instead, "Freedom! '90" embraces a more raw and authentic aesthetic, reflecting Michael's personal journey towards self-discovery and creative freedom.
Through the lens of Deleuze, who emphasizes the idea that repetition involves non-exchangeable singularities and challenges established norms or structures, we can analyze Michael’s music video as a unique singularity amongst music videos themselves. In contrast to typical music videos that portray the artists in a spotlighted fashion and generally shape the narratives around the presence of the singers, “Freedom! 90” chooses to feature supermodels lip-syncing to his song. This departure from the expected repetition of the artist's presence challenges the conventional structure of music videos and disrupts the established norms of representation. Additionally, his decision to step back and allow the models to take center stage can be seen as a form of resistance against the manufactured image and commercial pressures often associated with the music industry. In this video, he intentionally distances himself from his previous image, which is symbolically conveyed through visual elements, like leaking water. Water is often associated with purification and renewal, and its presence in the video suggests a cleansing process—a metaphorical washing away of the old to make room for the new. As the water pours from various sources like the walls and the ceiling (0:03:22), it represents a release from the pressures and expectations of celebrity, allowing George Michael to distance himself from his previous image and embrace a fresh start. By breaking away from the expected repetition of celebrity presence, the video embraces a new form of repetition—one that is non-exchangeable and challenges the norms of representation and identity.
Tumblr media
In Baudrillard's framework, Michael’s breaks free of the traditional simulation of artists we typically see from the music industry. Many artists in the music industry are carefully curated and marketed by record labels to fit specific personas or images that appeal to target demographics. These constructed identities don’t reflect the artist's true self or experiences, leading to a simulated version of their identity being presented to the public. The music industry relies heavily on media coverage and public relations strategies to shape public perception of artists and their work. In his early years as a pop star with Wham! and as a solo artist, George Michael was presented to the public as a polished, marketable figure with carefully curated image and persona. This manufactured image, while successful commercially, often overshadowed his true identity and artistic intentions. In later years, George Michael sought to break free from the constraints of his manufactured pop star image and assert his authenticity as an artist. As his lyrics illustrate the process of “breaking free” and deviating from societal expectations, he includes the iconic blazing jacket (0:2:18). The blazing jacket worn by a model in the video serves as a powerful metaphor for shedding the past and breaking free from the constraints of fame. As the jacket ignites and burns, it represents the destruction of the old persona—the glossy, manufactured pop star image that George Michael had become known for. By showcasing the jacket engulfed in flames, the video symbolizes the artist's desire to let go of his past identity and emerge anew.
Tumblr media
Jameson warns readers about the “death of the subject”(3), refers to a shift in postmodern culture where traditional notions of individuality and personal identity are destabilized or decentered. This concept suggests that in contemporary society, the individual subject becomes increasingly fragmented and deconstructed, unable to maintain a coherent sense of self amidst the complexities of postmodern life. He argues that various cultural and technological developments, such as the rise of mass media, globalization, and digital communication, contribute to the dissolution of the subject. These forces work to erode the boundaries between individual and collective identity, as well as between public and private spheres. As a result, the subject is no longer able to maintain a stable and unified identity but instead becomes fragmented and dispersed across multiple discourses and social contexts. In George Michael's "Freedom! '90" music video, he subverts the notion of the "death of the subject" by reclaiming agency and autonomy over his own identity and artistic expression. Towards the end of the video, the jukebox and guitar previously featured are blown up. These actions can symbolize a radical departure from the artist's past image and musical style. These acts can be seen as symbolic gestures of rebellion against the commodification of music and the constraints of traditional celebrity culture. The jukebox and guitar represent established symbols of music consumption and rock star imagery. By blowing them up, the video rejects the superficiality and commercialism associated with these symbols, challenging the idea that music and art can be reduced to mere commodities for consumption. Instead, it asserts the importance of authenticity and creative freedom in the face of commercial pressures. It can also signify a declaration of independence and a refusal to conform to expectations imposed by others. Additionally, the destruction of these symbols may represent a desire to start anew and redefine oneself creatively. Blowing up the jukebox and guitar in the music video can be interpreted as a symbolic act of liberation and a statement of artistic autonomy, subverting Jameson’s idea of “death of the subject” and challenging established norms and cultural expectations.

Questions: - How does Grande's use of references to iconic movies contribute to the construction of a hyperreal realm, as discussed by Baudrillard? What insights does this offer into the dynamics of cultural consumption, representation, and the construction of reality in the digital age? - How does Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" music video embody Jameson’s idea of postmodern tendencies, particularly in the video’s engagement with commercialized nostalgia and use of fame? - How does Deleuze's notion of repetition involving non-exchangeable singularities help us understand the significance of this departure from the expected repetition of celebrity presence? How does it contribute to the exploration of authenticity and artistic autonomy in the video?

asking about the legally blonde fics 🙄 (JOKING i actually really want to hear about them. please?)
THANK YOU its not letting me add a cut guys..... i would if i could..... long post??
alright hi i write legally blonde fanfics after being involved in a production of it earlier this year and. well.
like i think my fanfic is very ehhhh for most people because i like essentially getting to write completely different songs and then having to integrate them into canon if that makes sense?? based solely off the musical, like, none of pilar margot serena really have ANY established backstory and i havent seen the movie or read the book in such a long time. so what i mean is that i get to write this horrifying piece about someone experiencing parentifcation in an abusive environment and then try to integrate that character into the more canonised characterisation.
i guess the reason is like. of musicals, legally blonde is very.... i don't know, its pretty solid in terms of content for the musical. its absurd like most musicals which kind of facilitated me and my friend (im gonna @ their dead blog from when they were like 12 @kittykatturtles-blog) to make crack theories and then give me things that i wanted to extrapolate from it. I guess the other thing about these fics is that i want to write about how. fucked a lot of rich people are. i think part of this is coming out of the dsmp fandom or engaging with it more critically in terms of a fandom and being able to recognise the kind of repetitiveness of a lot of fanfictions in a very... trope esque way? like there are so many fics which are basically the same and a lot of those feel like they didn't have anything to say or think about in terms of the characters.
i think the other part of it which matters to me is being able to write about themes which are genuinely really serious, and at times intimately familiar to me; exploitative religious groups, familial abuse, dissociative identity disorder, and more, without the worry of too heavy scruntiny. like i remember when i was writing for dsmp i always got kind of scared of writing something too serious and having people like like. oh my god. hes a MINOR. YOURE KILLING ME. the whole point of the stories aren't just that bad things are happening or that these characters are justified or whatever, it's about. how do you keep going? how do you keep loving? how do you explain yourself.
i think something thats super important to be is character autonomy. it rings pretty bad for me when a traumatised or disabled is given no action on their end at all for anything, making them a hollow slate for the abled characters to support and research and worry about and lie to. to me, as someone who is traumatised and is disabled, that kind of dynamic is gross to read about. so its important to me to be able to write about, even if it cant exist in real life, the idea of supportive people who are also kind of fucked up and having to acknowledge the real hopelessness of complex issues is something i want to depict in my writing.
for a lot of people, for most i think, when terrible things happen they can't just stop and they somehow have to keep on going despite the world feeling like its stopped turning for them. and i think a lot of bad things do happen to people when they are still young. one of the worst years of my life was when i was 12 and its genuinely quite hard to top it. trying to write the spiky complex feelings of self hatred and confusion and injustice you can't place and hopelessness is cathartic to me and i think its important for me that it exists.
the other thing is that. like by the nature of my writing, this is leading to a better future. im a pretty slow writer, and i can't be hyperfixated on the story i need to just be continually trying to think and work on it. but because we know; we know they make it to college, we know they have friends, and in this i know that they can make it to adulthood, its an assertion, from me as a writer and from me as a traumatised disabled person that i will make a better future and the worst parts of your life will not definte them. idk.
this is the link to the first two fics and im writing a new one as we speak
if you want to hear more about ttolt characters (we have pilar, serena, margot, elle, serenas parents and brother, pilars infinite fucking siblings and parents, and a few others) then send me asks about it. PLEASE dear god

Modern!AU Phantom of the Opera Headcanons Part 2: College/University
More modern!AU headcanons for our favorite squad of weirdos. Enjoy!
Christine:
Major: music performance, Masters program (originally in creative writing but took an elective music class and was so good/loved it so much that she decided to switch)
Meg is her roommate, Madame Giry is one of her professors and is super strict
Met Raoul at a party that Meg dragged her to, she wasn’t really enjoying it and was about to leave when Raoul recognized her and they started talking (they were middle school friends)
Met Erik super late at night in a library when she was feeling really stressed/burnt out for an upcoming test. Erik noticed her struggling and found some books to help her, leaving them in obvious places for her to find. She eventually catches him hiding a book for her and thanks him for his help; it soon becomes a routine for them to meet up and study together in the library.
Has a part-time job at Starbucks to help pay for tuition, has Erik’s order memorized and ready for him by the time he walks in at the same time every day
Joins a bunch of clubs freshman year, had a hard time managing it all and got really burnt out, she learned her lesson and quit most of them the next semester
Erik:
Major: double major in music theory and history, working on PhD in architecture
Takes most of his classes virtually or watches the online posted lectures so he can stay home and not have anyone see him
Goes to the libraries/lecture halls really late at night to study (this is how he met Christine)
You know the threatening notes he sends to the managers? Those are what his emails to professors are like; he’ll find dirt on them and blackmail them into boosting his grade
For example he found out a science professor was having an affair with a student and threatened to tell administration; now he has his own private lab space in the basement of the science building
Cannot study without music, has the ultimate study playlists
His notes are messy and practically illegible, but he can somehow decipher them enough to study from them; you definitely want his study guides, they are so thorough
He can hack into the school’s records and access all of the test questions from previous years, uses it to help Christine study
Raoul:
Major: originally business (his family wanted him to take over the family business) but he hated it, was undeclared for a while before settling on law
Secretly loves the movie “Legally Blonde”, always talks about how realistically it portrays its court cases
He is 100% in a frat (but like a rich kid frat), has a lot of events involved with the fraternity that take up a lot of his time
Partied a lot in freshman year, scaled it back the next year when he failed a couple classes
Joins the intramural tennis team on campus, tries to get Christine into it too but it is just not right for her
Always wants to be in a group with Christine for group projects, mostly because he likes her but also because she is really smart and responsible; she motivates him to study
Almost started a fire in the dorms when he snuck in a contraband hotplate
Has a car and offers to drive Christine everywhere, but parking on campus is a nightmare and he can’t parallel park to save his life
Definitely ~experimented~ in college before becoming Christine’s boyfriend
His first official date with Christine was at a college football game; they left during halftime because they were bored and their team was losing anyway, got pizza and watched a movie instead.
Daroga:
He is a history professor working on his tenure
One of those “cool” professors who lets his class out early and super easy to talk to
Responds to essay-long emails with “Ok”
Wears suits to lecture; you will never see this man in jeans except at the grocery store
Erik shows up to his office one day to complain about a mistake he thinks Daroga made in class while lecturing, and Daroga brings up the fact that Erik doesn’t even attend class so he has no right to talk. They have a conversation about Erik’s insecurities and eventually make a deal where Erik can watch class online but has to make up his attendance grade for the class by completing an extra project by the end of the year.
From then on, Daroga is like a mentor to a begrudging Erik
Daroga even makes him be a TA for his class; Erik hates the idea at first but actually proves to be a pretty good teacher (but a harsh grader)

I saw someone call Legally Blonde sexist and it makes me honestly wonder if they even watched it???
Maybe the movie is wildly different, but the entire point of the musical is accepting yourself and being as feminine as you want because stereotypical femininity doesn’t make you any less intelligent or capable.
Elle’s entire story arc is going from thinking that she has to wait for Warner to propose to her, thinking that she can’t look too desparate to get married because that will make Warner look bad, to proposing to her boyfriend at the end of her graduation speech. She learns that she doesn’t have to wait for a man, she doesn’t have to make life decisions based on a man, she can make changes to her life and circumstances entirely of her own volition.
The entire point of the musical is staying true to oneself. Callahan, the literal villain, tells his students that they have to change themselves to be taken seriously. They have to change their moral compass, and they have to win every case by any means possible. He mocks them for thinking compassionately. He doesn’t even entertain the idea that a woman who teaches self defense didn’t murder her own husband. He teaches Elle that she has to change herself to be taken seriously in any context, but no matter how much she changes, she’ll still just be viewed by him as eye candy.
Meanwhile, the actual mentor figure is Emmett (at least when it comes to law). Emmett’s song is the antithesis of Blood in the Water. Chip on Your Shoulder is about sticking to your guns. Emmett tells Elle all about his motivations to be at Harvard law, and his motivations and backstory fuel his entire character. He grew up with just his mom and the men his mom dated, not very good men, and he became protective of his mom. He’s there to make his mom proud, he’s there to make his mom happy, he’s there because he made this chance for himself and he’s taking it.
Unlike Callahan’s point of changing yourself to be taken more seriously, Emmett’s is entirely about how Elle doesn’t have to change herself, she just has to actually start putting effort into studying. He doesn’t expect her to change anything about herself except for the amount of work she’s doing. He teases her, but he’s completely accepting of her interests.
Emmett is the one who inspires and teaches Elle to be passionate about school, not Callahan, and it’s because Emmett’s teaching methods involve staying true to your morals. Staying true to yourself.
More than that, the entire musical is built on Elle’s relationship with her female friends. The “Greek choir,” the female students, Paulette, Brook Wyndham, etc. Enid is one of my favourite examples, since she has this line: “I used to pray for the day you’d leave, swore and down you did not belong. But when I’m wrong, then I say I’m wrong, and I was wrong about you. So listen up! I see no end to what you’ll achieve, that’s only if you don’t turn and run. You proved it to me, now show everyone what you can do.”
Enid is a feminist and generally, in the beginning, is snide about Elle, but she learns from Elle that she doesn’t have to be afraid of showing her own femininity. Enid is in a highly male-dominated field and she’s a lesbian; she acts more masculine and tries to fit in with the boys, and she does this because she wants desperately to be taken seriously. Elle shows her that she doesn’t have to pretend. She goes from looking down on Elle to looking up to her, and the character arc is just super sweet.
Legally Blonde is about as far from sexist as it’s possible to be. Just because a few characters (who are literally antagonists or are misguided and grow and change over the course of the story) are sexist, that doesn’t make the core of the musical misogynistic. It’s not, and to look at it that way is incredibly diminutive.

Hello hello. How about Fusion Dance. So Much Better as a College AU?
Oooooooh OKAY.
For the ones unaware, this is So Much Better's summary:
Kurt is very excited to make his Broadway debut in Deaf West’s production of Legally Blonde. He plays the Voice of Emmett and he has to work with Blaine, a Deaf actor who’s been part of the show since the very beginning. They grow closer through the process.
I actually started writing a new beginning of the fic, to re-do some world building, but that wasn't very Klaine-y at all, so I am instead taking a scene from the middle.
Disclaimer: I know nothing about press for college shows and exchanges and whatever. I'm winging it.
**
AMDA is a school for performing arts, so people usually have high expectations of an AMDA show. Still, this amount of interest is new for everyone involved.
This is the first time AMDA has an exchange with Gallaudet, so also the first time they're using sign language in a musical. As a result, a lot of regional press is so interested that AMDA decided to host a small press conference or sorts.
Rachel revels in it, because it "prepares her for the real deal". Kurt's a bit nervous. He also wants to go to the Great White Way, which means doing press, but he's a complete newbie. He's paired with Blaine, since they share the role, and luckily Blaine knows what he's doing. They actually met up the day before to go over possible answers for possible questions.
“So, what is it like to play this character together?” the interviewer asks. The interpreter is stood next to them.
Kurt turns to Blaine to see if he wants to answer first. Blaine notices and raises his hands.
“It’s really fun,” he answers and Kurt can’t help but smile.
SAME, he signs, which in turn makes Blaine smile.
“It is a unique experience and a collaborative project,” Blaine continues, “I couldn't believe it when it was announced I could go on exchange to LA! Gallaudet is in Washington D.C., and it's a Deaf bubble, so to break out of it is a bit scary, but I am so happy to do it and to perform this show with Kurt. It is really cool to learn Kurt’s perspective as well. It’s clashed sometimes, but it’s great to actually be able to have a conversation about Emmett. We both really care for him.”
“Yes,” Kurt cuts in when he realises Blaine’s done, “We’ve jokingly referred to Emmett as our son.” Kurt also signs SON when he says that.
The interviewer laughs at that. Kurt and Blaine do too. Blaine’s laugh is nice to hear. It’s quiet. Then the interviewer asks questions about their degrees.
Kurt's answer is quite generic. The people who will read this are either from AMDA LA, or are interested in AMDA LA. Gallaudet, on the other hand, is unknown, so Kurt gives Blaine the room to promote his school and he steps back to watch. Blaine is so passionate about it.
But then he hears how Blaine had to defend his choice to study acting at Gallaudet. His parents didn't like the idea of it. Blaine is once again great with the press, because he makes it part of a larger issue and he asks for awareness that Deaf people can succeed everywhere.
Now, Kurt's actually a bit sad that this won't reach a lot of readers.
The interviewer thanks them afterwards.
WOW, Blaine signs, since the interpreter followed the interviewer. That was planned.
YOU OKAY? Kurt asks.
I’M FINE, Blaine answers, I NEED A BREAK.
Kurt looks around. There is still some press, but really, it isn't that big of a deal and Rachel is fine with demanding the attention.
LET’S GO, Kurt signs and he nods towards a door that leads out of the rehearsal space. Kurt doesn’t know how to sign “just for a small minute”, so he signs SECRET, SMALL, FAST and luckily Blaine gets it. The two slip out of the room unnoticed.
Once they’re in a hallway, Kurt leans against the wall and he lets out a deep breath.
His phone buzzes in his pocket. He looks over to Blaine, who has a phone in his hand.
BA:  So that was a lot, wasn’t it?
KH: If I may ask, why do your parents dislike your acting degree? What you said sounds kinda rough
After all, Kurt can’t imagine his dad not being supportive. Yes, his dad has also had doubts and concerns, but he still fought for Kurt. Kurt still gets a warm feeling when he thinks about his dad going to McKinley, demanding that Kurt should be allowed to try out for Defying Gravity. He didn’t understand it, but he knew Kurt wanted it.
By the time Kurt’s out of his thoughts, he sees that Blaine has sent a long answer.
BA: It was, but it could’ve been worse. My parents at least sign. 80% of hearing parents do not sign. They didn’t have this view in their head that Deafness is something that needs to be fixed. My family learnt ASL for me, they let me to go a Deaf school, and they did a lot for me in that regards. Thanks to them I am the confident person I am today and I had a language and a culture and a community. They did so much to help me excel, and then I choose acting? But in the end, what they did is called good parenting, and with good parenting, I shouldn’t feel like I owe it to them to give up on my dreams just because they don’t agree with me.
How are your parents?
I never really asked.
KH: We never really talked about it.
BA: True
KH: My mom died when I was young, but she always encouraged the creative side. My dad and stepmom as well.
I told you Finn’s my brother, right?
My stepmom is his mom.
Our parents couldn’t be more proud of us.
BA: Sorry to hear about your mom
But glad to hear your stepmom is lovely
KH: Well I am glad to hear it’s all okay with your family now.
BA: Yeah better late than never
The two of them share a small smile. Their moment gets interrupted when the door opens and Lauren, the Deaf actress who plays Enid, pokes her head around the corner. She looks relieved when she finds them.
THERE YOU ARE, she signs.
SORRY, Kurt and Blaine both sign immediately.
WE NEEDED A BREAK, Blaine signs.
Lauren looks at Blaine, then to Kurt, then back to Blaine. A smile forms on her face and she has an amused look on her face. Kurt tries to see if Blaine gets why Lauren is looking at them like that, but Blaine looks slightly confused as well.
Lauren signs something but it’s too advanced for Kurt to keep up, but Blaine notices and quickly texts it to him.
BA: They were looking for us, so we should probably head inside.
OKAY, Kurt signs, I UNDERSTAND.
Together they follow Lauren back inside.

I AM NOT AN ARTIST, I draw maybe once a year, I tried for an hour to make Vox's face look decent but that was the best I got hence the error screen version
Context under the cut for anyone who wants to know but there's a lot:
I'm developing a backstory for these two that, in short, involves Alastor having an immediate connection with Vox after he landed in Hell and working together + helping him to develop his power. Anons have helped a lot with this but Broadway anon in particular brought to my attention that Vox's VA is Emmett in the Legally Blonde musical. They also told me about the song Take It Like a Man and suggested in addition that Alastor could help Vox dress more professionally given how similar their outfits are
And voila, they give me brainrot in the best way possible
