Leda theory
Ok, I noticed only recently that Leda's name is a greek mythology reference (I knew I remembered the name from somewhere), and based on the greek myth of Leda, I formulated a theory.
In greek mythology Leda was a spartan quen who was seduced by Zeus in the form of a swan, later on, she also had funny times with her husband, leading her to give birth to 4 children, two by Zeus (yes, he did it in the form of a swan) and two by her husband.
Now, so far this doesn't really makes much sense in the Just Dance lore, but then I remind you of a certain person, Cygnus.
Cygnus name means literaly "swan" in latin, and we also know that he and NS worked together, so my theory is, what if, Cygnus seduced Leda and made her a villain?
The timeline would be, Leda and the Traveler were on a relationship (seems pretty obvious by MOTDF), but for some reason they broke up, probably because Leda was REALLY unhinged, leading to the Traveler breaking up with her, she then would be seduced by Cygnus to join him, Cygnus was the one who wanted to take over the Danceverses, and it was him who planted the idea on Leda, but as the time passed, Cygnus noticed how unhinged and ambitious Leda really was, making him think "Oh balls, that's not good" and tried to cut her off of the plan, but with all of the contacts and resources that Cygnus gave to her, it became impossible to do so, so Cygnus abandoned her, and Leda became Night Swan alone, now, if Jack is Cygnus son or not, that's another theory.

I swear my backstory for Night Swan makes total sense (/j) here's a helpful infographic-
"Wait isnt that Plum-" yeah yeah Plum, Leda Nox, same person. All the same person. "Leda Nox", the bewitching ballerina from Eternyx, was always built on a lie.
Anyway let's just go song by song lol
Burn: Plum came from old money, money that was starting to run dry. Her parents expected her and her sister to both marry into wealth, being "old fashioned" like that. While she didn't like it, Plum initially tried to obey these wishes, and her dance in Burn was meant to impress a certain someone.
When I Grow Up: Plum's secret wishes to become rich and famous on her own terms, instead of simply marrying the right guy and living in easy obscurity.
Crying Blood: After leaving her family to find her own fortune, Plum lands a job at a diner. And she's unhappy. Unhappy because her family would never accept her the way she was. Eager to find some way to get back at them, particularly her sister.
Jump In The Line: Plum after she meets Captain Crimson and becomes a pirate. Their "adventures" revolve around robbing people on the Melosian coastline, which sets them at odds with Triton and Calypso. And let's just say, Plum has every reason to get on their bad sides anyway.
Dance All Nite: One of Leda Nox's first performances as Leda Nox/Night Swan, long before she was known or renowned under that name. After the incident in the Skull Cavern, she changed. She changed quite a bit, with a new purpose and new magic.
Sexy Girl, Te Dominar, and Cool For The Summer: Various other performances by Leda/Night Swan. These three in particular were ones where she met Cygnus, forming a connection with one of Eternyx's wealthy and powerful elites.

Help me figure out what fic to write next! ✨
I feel like I’m in a weird limbo after finishing the first arc of the Lose Yourself series and I have a few ideas floating around in my head for what to write next (after the Wanderrose fic exchange, at least), but I have no clue which one to focus on.
So if you happen to like my silly little stories and want a say in what my next fic is, I’ve got some ideas and a poll below the cut! 💕
Idea I: Dark & Angsty Murder Mystery 🔪
I've discussed this one on here before so it might sound slightly familiar, but this would basically be Angst: The Fanfic. If you thought any of the Lose Yourself series was angsty, this fic is probably 10x worse. Part of me worries it's a little bit too dark to be a Just Dance fic. Multiple murders (though not described in detail), an intense attempted murder (that is described in relative detail), and some of that patented Night Swan mind control, plus some supernatural elements later on. But also a sizeable portion of it is Brezziana and Disocball playing detective and trying to solve a rash of murders, which should be very fun, in a weird and kinda dark sorta way.
Wanderrose ft. best friends Jack & Brezziana. Also featuring Discoball, Sara, Mihaly, Mothigan, Cygnus, Felicia, Boss Witch, Si'Ha Nova, and Agent D
I have the first chapter and a half written of this one already. It would be 9 chapters total.
Idea II: Angsty Jack-Centric Post-JD24 Fic 🥀
This is an idea I've had for a while but haven't really gotten around to properly outlining. This is based on my theory of sorts that Night Swan exploited the wrong weakness when targeting Jack in Dance With the Swan, where she realizes after the events of JD24 that she hadn't done it right and approaches it from a different angle. Basically just a lot of Jack-centric angst, a lot of Night Swan & Jack interactions, and a world where Treasure Jack may or may not actually become more than just an illusion...
A lot of Night Swan & Jack but definitely featuring at least some Wanderrose. Also featuring the Just Dancers, Si'Ha Nova, and the Traveler, and maybe some others.
I haven't even outlined this one yet, so I have no idea how long it would be.
Idea III: Significantly Less Angsty & More Random Self-Indulgent AU (Actually a "Silly Little" Fic This Time, For the Most Part, at Least) ✨
I've been toying with the idea lately of an AU where Leda and Sara were sisters on earth and Sara has been searching for her sister. I think it would be fun to do some intentional canon divergence (and not just have my fics' canon be derailed by a new event). There's a few directions I've considered taking this in, including Jack ending up on earth (there's like two or three ways for that one to happen and like two or three directions I could take it in) or Sara's adventures in the Danceverses just going really differently.
Still a lot I'm not sure about with this one but it's been bouncing around my head since Night Swan: The Prequel dropped, so here we are. Definitely would have Wanderrose cuz they own my heart.
The Poll
I have no idea which idea I really wanna commit to following through on first. Every time I think I'm leaning towards one, I end up leaning towards another. So I'm throwing these out there in the hopes that a few of you will be able to help me out with your opinion!

I really don't think we should assume automatically jack is the travelers son. There are also reasons he couldn't be.
Reasons he could be:
-The Lore Master said that Jack and Wanderlust have something in common, just like Sarah and nightswan.
-leda and the travelers relationship isnt nessicarely romantic, ive seen people interpret it as business partner thing, but it probably is romantic.
-The mythological story of Leda is that she has a child of a god, and swans. Also in the story she has 2 children, and jack rose does probably have a sibling he grew up with and then something happened (what????) this could be Cygnus.
-the traveller, wanderlust and jack all have gold gloves.
Reasons against it:
-Narrative sense, it won't work with the established themes of Jack choosing good even though his mother is evil. Him being the son of a good deity (?????? What is the traveler???????) would make the choice feel less meaningful, beacuse then it would imply he was always menat to be on the good side and it wasn't really that much of his choice as weve been led to think.
-The relationship between the Traveler and Leda is a clear parallel to Wanderlust and Sarah, and there isnt really a reason to believe their relationship is romantic in any way.
-Jack has no portal powers. It makes sense that he wouldn't get them from his mother because its something that she learned instead being born with, and she wouldnt have taught him anything that would give him independence from her, but he would have been born with the ability bc he inherited it from the traveler, and it doesn't seem he has that ability.
-In the myth, leda has one child that is human and another that is a demigod and is more swan-y. If we go by that logic Cygnus seems more likely to be the swan-y child- aka the child of zeus, wich following the myth would make jacks father someone else.

about the whole ongoing wanderrose dilemma, i see two possible ways this could go. beta talk below the cut, you’ve been warned.
first of all, id like to say sweet dreams is most likely the second map that happens in night swan’s timeline. what the heck am i talking about? let’s think back to the y2k season, with this mess up on the just dance team’s part.
(sorry about the size of this ss, im sending this on ipad)
those two coaches between p1 of promiscuous are absolutely the coaches we’ll see in the upcoming event. i think the timeline goes like this:
1. map we don’t know yet, this is before she was a failed ballerina. this was when she was hopeful, ready to do her best at dancing. my personal theory is that this is muder on the dance floor (not the cover by royel otis, but the original by sophie ellis-bextor). in the music video, the singer has the same hair as the emote, a big factor in a lot of maps inspired by their respective music videos is small nods to their source material such as their costume or, naturally, hair. the music video is a party where the singer dances with another man, so i can see it being some sort of audition. maybe she’s dancing with cygnus considering they’re longtime friends and this would be when they’re both young. what turns her to becoming evil would be her failing the audition, that being the ‘murder on the dance floor.’ she fails maybe at the end or somewhere in the middle.
2. sweet dreams, this is as she turns evil. this is after her failure. we can see construction happening in sweet dreams, as behind her faces that later digitalize and become night swan/leda nox, so this is possibly as cygnus (the city in eternyx) is being built and her influences grow. the eye shot at the very end is likely a sign of her reminiscing on her rise to evil.
this is all to say i don’t think the traveler is jack’s father, rather i think cygnus has a higher chance. we’ve known since showdown that night swan and cygnus go way back, and that beggin’ was cygnus’s way of apologizing. i think that audition was the rough patch in their relationship. my personal theory is that they’d both been preparing for that audition for a while, they probably met because of it in the first place, and night swan blames him for their shared failure, and beggin’ was how he tried to tell her he was sorry, on a stage broadcasted all across the danceverses.
i think jack could have been born out of wedlock to cygnus and night swan, and due to night swan’s anger towards cygnus he wasn’t in jack’s life very much. while he had an influence on his life, being the inventor and architect for many buildings in eternyx, i think that was more of a business relationship. he could have also built night swan’s tower as a way of apologizing too, he built her her tower to show he regrets the messed up audition and she’s still not over it.
the other way would be the traveler outcome, what people are fearing. i think there hasn’t been enough buildup to it, it would be such a huge reveal that there would have to be hints and foreshadowing outside of the just dance team pushing wanderrose away and being weird about it.
of course, i could be totally wrong, but i think it’s a decent enough theory. if you’ve read this far, thank you <3 feedback appreciated!
