s lkie feels like someone's self-insert unfortunately 😭
That’s absolutely what she is 😭
But what sucks is that they tried to wrap her up in stuff from comics canon to make it seem like she’s not as self-inserty.
Like I would’ve hated her about 13% less if they had just made her some random ass variant named idk Kimberly or something 😂 because at least then we’d still have a chance to get those other characters later.
But no! They didn’t just ruin their own OC. They managed to ruin Lady Loki (along with actual Loki’s genderfluid representation), Amora, Sylvie Lushton, and Lorelei.
Because they based her on all of those characters and yet somehow she has zero characteristics of any of them. The best way I can describe her is if you mixed Loki’s aesthetic with Thor’s personality. Which sucks ass.
I just… she is by far the worst part of the show for me. Almost everything else I love, but anytime she comes onscreen it just kinda takes me out of it.

Thoughts on the finale aside, I do genuinely love how the finale brings back the theme from the first episode that the timeline is a narrative, pre-written, and the given designated authorfathergod chooses what your ending should be based on how it best completes the plot. Loki is supposed to be a stagnant character, despite his constantly-shifting motives and alignments, and Kang alludes to this--Loki is supposed to be untrustworthy, he is supposed to be untrusting, he is supposed to be power-hungry and disloyal and yet... and yet... and yet he can break the character mold he has been placed in because he can still learn to love. What an amazing concept. He really speedran his entire character development arc from Thor to Avengers: Infinity War over the span of a week.

not done complaining about s*lkie I guess (shock! awe! wonder!) but something I also really don't like about it that I've yet to really address is the way it intentionally renders Loki into an awkward, insecure and thusly overly devoted teen with no idea of how to approach a romantic interest (with himself no less??) and in that way just feels like the product of a wishfulfillment fanfic in which the canon counterpart is warped and changed completely to fit whatever the author thinks is the most endearing, whether it actually squares with who that character is or not (and there is NOTHING wrong with those fanfics!! it's just not the content I'd consider appropriate for a mainstream show meant to appeal to multiple groups of people but anyway). and we know this isn't necessary bc whether you interpret the dynamic between him and mobius as romantic or not, many, many, many people have- their chemistry can translate to that quite easily. And, what do you know? In -this- particular context, we manage to see Loki both giddy and lovestruck with the object of his affections, while also feeling confident enough to flirt here and there and have a footing in making in his interests apparent, which, to me, makes sense for a character that has repeatedly demonstrated his abilities with his charms and charisma. you're telling me that I'm supposed to believe ever ambitious, ever clever Loki isn't going to have the confidence he needs in his own allure to not be able to flirt? To put sentences together? You're going to tell me Loki, who is a walking justified trust issue, is suddenly going to be eternally devoted to A VERSION OF HIMSELF THAT HE SHOULD KNOW IS PROBABLY NOT TRUSTWORTHY like at least give time and reason for him to give that much of himself and his trust and personality over to a variant of himself he was intimidated by naught but 6 hours prior. A drink on a train and an escape from an apocalypse is all it takes for him??? ????????????????????????????????????
it just feels like loki was unashamedly remolded into a different character so that he could make a swoon-worthy love interest for a new female character, which makes me wonder why anyone would choose him for that in the first place if they technically don't even like him for who he is lol. They just like the Tom Hiddleston/goth aesthetic he has, I guess, so just take all of that and put in placeholder personality. Surely everyone will think that is quality and acceptable, especially people who are devoted to Loki's character and have been for a decade.
That, or, if ANYONE on this team has an ounce of integrity, he was enchanted. It's literally the only way to explain this behavior and reconcile it with...literally anything Loki has ever done prior to this, as otherwise it is completely inconsistent and may as well just be another character entirely.
