I am doing "The Artist's Way" with a couple friends in an effort to approach writing in a healthier, more productive way and it's agonizing. Which is the point, I think, in order to reach the end goal. but man. at what cost.
anyway one of my exercises for this week was to write about Three Champions, which was a nice thing to do. Two of them were IRL people I know and for the last I wrote about @leaiorganas and the time she designed, printed, and mailed me copies of the Nonsense. an absolutely bonkers thing to do that I treasure.
but I think it also goes without saying that a great number of you were/are champions and could have also been in this exercise. I have a lot of mixed feelings about my fic, but there has been tremendous support and enthusiasm and it's done wonders for my confidence as a writer. Original writing is obviously a whole other, more terrifying ball game (TAKE ME OUT COACH!!!!) but I have more of a foundation than I think I would if I was approaching it as someone who hadn't read so many kind words from so many random internet strangers. seriously, if you ever said something nice about my fic, I internalized it. I re-read comments and bookmarks all the fucking time. I even revisit my fic without experiencing shame or agony which isn't true of my original writing.
anyway. i feel god in this chili's tonight, etc.

hi everyone, i hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately my mom and i have been summoned to court by our landlord on terms of eviction. we have reached out to other communities, churches, and other organizations in attempt to help support us and my two dogs in our home but we have either received no response, a denial, or we’re still waiting for funds to be available. we notified our leasing agent about our applications but we still are being evicted.
gas prices are at an all time high and despite seeing/applying many ads on job application websites, i am still stuck with a measly $12 an hour where i get little to no hours. i also go to school full time and i am taking summer classes right now. i also had surgery on my wrist for a ganglion cyst, so that has also impeded my workflow. importantly, my mom recently was diagnosed with a cervical cancer and has been out of work for two months per her doctors instructions on recovery after two, back-to-back surgeries. she has returned to work (against her doctors instructions) and i have resorted to doing uber eats and doordash, and now this.
you don’t have to, but i would really, really appreciate any donation you are able to give – especially if you’ve ever enjoyed my content. if not a donation, please help spread this by reblogging so others may be able to help. if you know any resources at all, please let me know. i live in arizona, if that helps locate any.
