Eek I missed an ask! Sorry OP I don't always see them on my phone!

For this question, I'll use my two main XIV Characters. They are siblings.

Viviane cannot tolerate cleaning the bathroom. She will take out the trash and do any other chore that needs to be done, but the bathroom chores will result in her vanishing.

Dimitri on the other hand does not like to cook. He can make a fantastic sandwich and an amazing cup of coffee. This poor man has no idea what tools to use or how to use them.

Kind of silly question, but why do you always type seiros as seiros the warrior?

It's not silly at all anon, even if I often type it for Fodlan nonsense but it came from those lines :

Call me Seiros now.

I am no longer the archbishop, but rather a warrior.

Rhea thinks "Rhea" isn't a name fit for a warrior, but "Seiros" is!

Now I find it interesting, because we know Rhea named herself "Seiros" back then - after the Red Canyon - too, was it for the same reasons?

Rhea chaning her name/identity wasn't only becayse she wanted to hide, but because she wanted to gain a more "fitting" name to fight?

Some people already noted it, but apparently Seiros is irl another way to spell Sothis, or something?

Edit : thanks to @holdharmonysacred corrected me, Sothis is the greek form of sodpeth and might also be Sirius (or have ties to Sirius ?) and Seiros could be another spelling (greek ?) of Sirius ?

"Seiros the Warrior" would thus be a way for Rhea to borrow strength from her mother's name to become a warrior and avenge her family?

Why dropping that name after the WoH then, was it only to hide or because Rhea felt fighting wasn't necessary anymore, and Fodlan didn't need a Warrior?

Or was it because Rhea thought even Seiros the Warrior couldn't fight and protect Fodlan, "Warrior or no Warrior" only Sothis and Sothis alone can guide the land to prosperity and save Fodlan and its inhabitants?

Idk, but to Rhea, "Seiros" is a special name and has a special meaning - it's the name of a warrior, someone who can grant her strength. Did Rhea kind of dissociate after Zanado, feeling she must be "Seiros" because the person who existed before died/was weak/couldn't protect/etc etc etc ?

We will never know.

Now, there's still the question about Rhea's true name, is it "Seiros" or "Rhea" or something else altogether...

I ultimately think it's Rhea - this is the name Jerry calls her by after knowing her for 300 years even as she changed her identity at least once during that time (Sylvain and Ignatz's support), and it's the name Seteth uses when he's worried (after Flayn was kidnapped), casually talks about her (Cyril support) or when he has a knee jerk reaction to whatever she's saying (in Nopes during their paralogue in the JP version, when she goes "I'll join the exploration mission" he calls her by this name while dropping all honorifics and deference - and in GW she says she'll stay to fight and die against Clout) - but again it's just HC, because even in Nopes Sothis can't be assed to call her children by their names.

(feel free to not answer this ask, I’m posting this as anon myself or a reason) I’m glad people are talking about how Vi’s time in Stillwater. Some lines in the show and tie in writings portray Vi’s time there as very bleak. The warden gloated to Kate about how he lost count the times he beat up Vi. They obviously showed no mercy when assaulting her. On top of that, the prison is actually unisex. You know where I’m going with this? Yet when asked, *m*nd* *v*rt*n said that the only kind of assault Vi endured was physical and psychological. Which is like so naive and laughably improbable? The show has been brutally realistic when portraying a wide range of topics. What’s with them putting Vi in dire situations then backtracking?

Welllllll, I mean, "physical and psychological" covers literally everything ever. Including torture, sexual assault, etc. It's meaningless word salad that means "yes she had it rough, but no we will not tank her mental health more than this because otherwise we wouldn't have a show".

Which is understandable. At some point you have to chose where to stop on the grittiness and realism scale, in order to balance the tone of the show.

I agree that not giving Vi room to become her own person, and some forms of Stillwater related trauma is a bit of a cop out, but I also understand they may not want to be going all the way, because this remains a 16+ show adapted from a fun fantasy video game, and not a horror franchise.

Arcane is already deep for an animated show. We have child death on screen. Class warfare, social commentary... But "our heroine and main POV character will now be dysfunctional for many episodes because she suffered extremely realistic experiences in our insane, mixed gender prison for almost a decade" is arguably on the "not fun" part of that scale.

But yeah. At a minimum they could have made her more distrustful of authority, even if authority is "hot".
