Fun fact: Fallon is a pyrokinetic in the french translation of stellarlune. (Most likely because the translator confused Fintan and Fallon.)

Up until this point I didn’t love Sophie that much. Like seriously every book i thought “get your ish together” (except the first two). But in Stellarrune? I love her. She’s literally the best.
My favorite scenes?
Her storming out on Fitz in the middle of the cafeteria, and not cause she felt bad or he was mad at her but because she was mad at him and actually believed what he was saying was out of order. First few books Sophie would’ve never!!! I was cheering for her that entire time.
Her being so friendly with Jensi, first book sophie because she was like the new one and the odd one out would’ve felt so awkward about it and sat with him out of desperation, but now she’s giving older sister vibes. I repeat. I love her.
Not spending so long hiding that she liked Keefe like she did with Fitz, and just straight up telling him as soon as it was convenient. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Training with Ro and actually getting somewhere. My heart can’t take this anymore.
Not doubting herself when all her friends lowkey kinda turned on her. Yes, yes, yes. (Wth was wrong with them in this book).
There’re moe but this is all i can think of at the moment.

No pressure to answer, but what did you think stellarlune was going to be like?
dude idek at this point
like
*sighs*
if im being honest
Sophie leaving the Keefe thing alone and focussing on ending things. Keefe can be someone we bring home after there's no more danger to it. I wanted no Keefe POV, no Keefe screen time, no searching for him. I wanted the lack of Keefe being a driving internal conflict in Sophie's mind, the fact that one of her friends has been so damaged and scared that he's gone pushing her to work harder, smarter, better. I wanted bloody murder and rage to stream out of her. I wanted that little girl turned warrior that's been trained for years to finally come to the surface.
I wanted her to... kind of? Crush our expectations of her?
For so long, we've been following this terrified kid.
And I wanted this time when Keefe leaves to break something. But break something correctly.
I want her to be mad. I want her to quit following the expected rules. I want her in jeans and a t-shirt, with a sword in her hand, staring down her enemies with the glare she always aims at Fintan. I want an intensity from her that we haven't seen so far.
And I don't want canon Sokeefe. Not yet. I don't want him back. Not yet. It's too soon, and it's the wrong thing to focus on. I want the plot to be resolved before I want them together. I'll take another book of waiting if at the end of it, Sophie Foster is the warrior that the world needs.
In fact, another book of waiting is what I'd prefer.
I want to stop pushing her towards relationships. It's taking too much of her time. I want that to be the cherry, not the ice cream. And it feels like(especially as I've been reading Flashback again) that whenever the romance comes into it, nothing else matters. And that bugs me.
Because Sophie Foster does not need a boy.
And the boy don't need her, either.
But if they want that, then I want them to work for it. Work on themselves.
And I'd like a Sophie who's too angry to care about any level of violence to start fighting back against the fire the Neverseen have been aiming her way. I don't want a scared little girl, anymore. I've seen enough of her.
I want Sophie to become the moonlark the world needs.
I don't really know what I expected. Idk what I want from it. All I know is that I want a girl to start burning things. I want her to start destroying things.
I want Sophie to realize that this is a war.
That one too many things have changed. And that mercy is not an option anymore. Because at this point, the kind she's been offering is far, far, far too kind.

we know from whatever book (Flashback??) when Cassius said Sophie's telepathy works similar to empathy, then from Legacy (?) when Sophie's mother is revealed to be Councilor Oralie that her empathy enhanced her telepathy to be able to work like that.
now lets examine Keefe's new abilities a little closer.
- ability to tell what someones ability is before manifesting
- ability to manipulate emotions with commands
- ability to sense emotion without physical contact
knowing that your “dormant” abilities in your genetics can influence your actual ability(s), we can make some theories.
lets break these down one by one.
- ability to tell what someones ability is before manifesting
this one is a combination of descrying (to sense the potential ability) and empathy (to sense the specific ability). its basically what each ability does, combined and enhanced
- ability to manipulate emotions with commands
this ones a bit trickier. it has to be a combination of abilities that have to do with emotion, manipulation (will), and power in speech. theres only one ability that has to do with emotion—empathy—the one he already possesses.
next, manipulation and will. most likely mesmer. mesmers have the ability to sense and manipulate someones will, essentially what Keefe is doing but centered on emotion (thats where the empathy comes in).
lastly, power in speech. in Unlocked, Councilor Noland (vociferator) claimed that Keefe's ability was not a vociferator. Councilor Alina never said anything about not being a beguiler (as far as i can see). a beguiler is essentially a mesmer but centered on emotions. the most likely combination of abilities for this one so far is beguiler & empath, although it could just be greatly enhanced. mesmer may also be in the mix, although its both unnecessary and unlikely.
- lastly, ability to sense emotion without physical contact
the most likely ability here is simply enhanced empathy. no other ability i can think of (besides possibly enhancing himself with that ability??) would combine to cause this. additionally, we know that he could already do this with Sophie's emotions on his own
summarized version: i think he has a couple of new abilities, all with empathy as the root but combined with other abilities (similar to how Sophie's telepathy has empath quialities and her inflicting can be targeted in a lazer). i dont remember if Councilor Alina said anything about him being a beguiler, but if he isnt that then his ability to command emotions vocally is likely a combination of empath, mesmer/beguiler, or vociferator (possibly with his existing polyglot ability to give his voice power if not one of the other two). his ability to tell someone's ability before they manifest is a combination of descryer (for the potential) and empathy (to target what hes descrying)

ok look I’m as excited about unraveled as the next person, but, but but but but but I really wish people would stop bashing on Shannon for it since I seriously doubt this was her plan I think it’s most likely that with all the stuff going on in her personal life lately the tenth book could have taken like an extra year which would mean in total it would be a three year gap between book 9 and book 10 obviously Shannon (and probably the publisher that publishes these books) didn’t want this and were starting to feel the pressure so what do they do? Release book 10 as a two parter? Nope. Boom unraveled. Shannon probably just had it as a scene were Sophie read keefes mind and found out whatever was super important that we needed to know and then just moved on but now she’s just taken that scene and bam book. Keep in mind that my knowledge of the publishing process and book writing world is very limited so I’m probably wrong but that’s just my hunch

stellarlune spoilers below !
am i the only one who loved the sokeefe kiss?? ive been hearing that it was underwhelming for some. i thought it was perfect. private, romantic, mutual, and adorable. i find that the best kiss scenes are the more simple ones— i don’t want every single detail or else it starts to get cheesy. and i feel like it’s simplicity is what makes it…well…them. sophie and keefe just work like that. they’re so in tune with each other that their kiss went smooth— whereas sophies kiss with dex, and her almost-kiss with fitz, were a jumble of nerves and thoughts. but she didn’t have any of that bc it was just second nature to feel comfortable with him!! i loved it, i only wish it wasn’t interrupted.
