I read a theory somewhere that since vespera is dead all her illusions died with her. This is making me think of the beginning of the tenth book, Sophie and her friends leap back to the lost cities and everything is CHAOS.

Humans are finding the lost cities, the other intelligent species are finding things out and want revenge. A war breaks out and Sophie and her friends have to go into hiding (kinda like in the deathly hallows)

So I was thinking about the whole elves-being-naturally-prettier-than-humans thing because that was always sort of weird to me when I FINALLY think I figured it out.

Humans used to know about the elves, and there are some things they still remember—hence myths about Atlantis and such. Reality is, humans and elves resembled each other in a lot of ways, but elves put themselves on a pedestal as better than every other species (that’s, like, canon, and better be addressed more fully at some point?) and that’s probably a part of the reasons humans “betrayed” the elves—they got sick of hearing that elves were better.

But it was just sort of implanted in their minds, though they weren’t fans of the idea, and elves didn’t go to great lengths to erase that idea from their minds. So humans remember myths and some things about elves, and Atlantis being the underwater city………and beauty standards.

It’s not that elves are naturally prettier than humans. It’s that human beauty standards are shaped around the natural looks of elves.

I may have just figured out why the neverseen has so many wins under their belt.

Because they are a group of unhinged, psychopaths with murderous tendencies.

You may be wondering how that works. Why would being unhinged help the neverseen to win so much? Because the black swan refuses to see them for what they are. Throughout the series the black swan always revolves their plans around the neverseen being these specifically chosen, strategically inept group of elves. And when the black swan's plans fall through they assume it's because the neverseen is even smarter than they thought. When in all reality the group of them are as dumb as a sack of rocks. The whole of the neverseen shares one braincell, and that braincell used to belong to glimmer. If the black swan were to shift their mental image of the neverseen to something closer to a bunch of adults acting more like teenagers more than the actual teenagers, and form new plans incorporating this much more accurate vision of the neverseen they might actually win some.

The one major win the black swan has that wasn't pure luck was when Sophie finally cracked in unlocked and burned down the store house. The black swan needs to be more unhinged in order to win. This is fact. Because honestly? The neverseen probably have no idea about strategy. They really are just like a group of toddler left alone for too long. There is no strategy. Just,

See, it all adds up. Jolie was dead for 17 years in the beginning of the series, and Lady Cadence was also living with the ogres for 17 years before becoming Sophie's Polyglot mentor.

Jolie was also a Conjurer. Lady Cadence is a Conjurer and a Polyglot. Polyglots often have two abilities, so it wouldn't be impossible for Jolie to be a Polyglot too.

Also, when Jolie's room in Havenfield was being cleared out, they found a bottle of Raven Lovelylocks elixir. LADY CADENCE HAS BLACK HAIR!

Random theory: Dex and Stina were childhood friends. Hear me out!

The Heks and the Dizznees were actually friends in the beginning, on the same boat with society talking shit about their marriage because one of them was talentless. Stina and Dex were shoved together to go off in play dates while the adults talked. Eventually though Vika and Timkin realized they could possibly get in better standing with nobility if they didn’t hang out with the Dizznees so they started talking shit about their family with others, eventually this ended in a big a fight and the others no longer getting along and teaching their kids that the other family was wrong, and as young impressionable kids they just went “ok.”

We always wonder why Gisela’s mind hasn’t broken. BUT WHAT IF IT DID?

Maybe somehow idk how her mind broke when she was young because she did something bad (atp im not surprised) and afterwards she was incapable of true love?? She was able to pretend to love someone but actually couldn’t. That explains why she was able to do those things to her Cassius and Keefe without breaking her mind, because its ALREADY broken.
