Sometimes I get this brainrot of Rirune impersonating others and fighting other people as them.
He could easily get away with fighting as Alice, Yukari, Marisa, Reisen, and the like, but his style of fighting is a little bit different from them, because it just occured to me that he... actually rarely saw them fight, but he knows their skillset well enough to do something with it.
So the only thing he could go on is his experience from fighting other people with similar skills and applying it to himself

Kitsukane Reborn (major pacifist spoilers)
dreemurr reborn ripoff
call it kitsune reborn if you want i find it more convenient
After Clover caught wind of Ceroba's past and pain, instead of offering their soul for the barrier, they offer it to help Ceroba, help Kanako be alive once more. Although this contradicts with Clover's arguably flawless and selfless justice in UTY's canon. Here's how I'd deal with it
Clover is a child. And as a child, they're not one to think about their choices the most. In addition to this, their sense of justice isn't the greatest since well, they're a child. However, this would end up being an okay idea since the other royal guards would catch wind of this.
This, in turn, would result in Kanako undergoing training (just in case) and being the one shattering the barrier, the other 5 souls are probably necessary in creating the kitsune variant of furry marisa
go wild lmao this wont last

"So there was a kitsune hideout all this time here..."
At least, from what he heard when wandering around the Human Village. Somewhere around the Forest of Magic, was it? He'd like to see what kind of kitsune are there, just this once.
... And whether it's more organized than Mamizou's tanuki village. Just who was the leader here?-
The Forest of Magic being what it was, it was surprising that Rirune hoped to find anything - though being a kitsune himself, he probably did stand a better chance than most. Still, looking blindly, he certainly wouldn't find anything at first - though, eventually, he might see a fox flitting about. And another a bit later, and one more... the third one would flit behind a tree, and a moment later, a certain witch would step out from it, a curious look on her face.
Tumblr media
"'s not often I see someone just wandering around the forest," she said by way of greeting, lifting up one hand while the other set her broom against the tree. Surely Rirune would recognize Marisa Kirisame - who didn't? "You looking for something? It's a dangerous place, you know. People get munched up around here all the time, and I wouldn't wanna see that happen."

Dualistic Deity Reveling in Fox Skin
"A series of raucous festivities led by a priesthood of kitsune are breaking out all across gensokyo, their attendants openly transgressing on societal conventions and rules. The celebrations blur the boundary between human and yokai, the lower and higher class, and even man and woman. The kitsune organizers promise that through them one may gain some connection to the divine, but who is the mysterious deity being worshipped by these rites?"
An idea I had for a Touhou fangame. The incident resolvers (besides Reimu and Marisa obviously) would be Clownpiece and Eika, and the gameplay gimmick would be the player character being able to change shot types by being able to change genders. Here are the first three characters:
Tumblr media
-Maron Shojo: A shojo attending the kitsune's wild festivities. Her ability is to drink endlessly. She just wants to enjoy herself, and the player characters aren't able to get much info out of her...
-Hakuro Uwabami: A white uwabami attending the festivities. Her ability is to make truth-revealing wine. Though she seems like an elegant beckoning lady, her wine will soon make one divulge very embarassing secrets.
-Amame Raihoujin: A namahage with inside info on the festivities. Her ability is to scare lethargy away. After beating her in a danmaku battle, she lets it slip that the kitsune are worshipping a foreign god...
Maron is partially based on satyrs, and Hakuro is also based on Bai Suzhen with a little bit of Leucothea.

UPDATE; redrew Marco's lion griffin legs, because they looked weird and tbh not fluffy enough
Their bio below:
Age: 22(Gianna), 16(Marco)
Nicknames:
For Gianna: Gia, Anna, Birdie For Marco: Marble brain (mainly by his sister)
Friends:
Gianna: She's often so busy that she doesn't really have friends close to her age but she gets along with both Kaspian's aunt Amalia, and the staff of her favorite hair salon, Alois (A bakeneko) and Taiga (A kitsune) Marco: Ichirou, Clover(he's more Ichirou's friend, but often hangs out with him and Ichirou), Hitomi (Ichirou's little sister)
Love interest:
Marco: Janus Kravchenko Gianna: Marisa Marisol-Raye
Occupation: Gianna has an apprenticeship and studies to become a fashion designer/seamstress, Marco is still in high school
Abilities:
Gianna:
She can transform into a birdwoman or a mermaid, meaning she can fly and breathe underwater
Being a siren, she has a very hypnotic singing voice, and can even apply the hypnosis effect while speaking if she wants to.
Her bird claws are very strong and sharp, she's able to cause pretty deep slashes and punctures with them.
Her mermaid shape allows her to swim faster than speedboat.
In turn, she can fly very fast too, up to 200 mph for short bursts of time, or alternatively hover around for hours.
She's an excellent seamstress and can patch up clothing very neatly, something she often does for her girlfriend or her brother.
Marco:
He can turn into a proper Griffon, or transform just partially, giving him wings, lion feet, or hawk claws.
He's very strong physically, able to lift up things five times his size easily. he can easily break even stone with his bare hands. He's generally pretty athletic in fact, able to run for long periods of time, hop quite high and essentially do parkour with ease.
He can fly very fast as well, though his mythical form being heavier he's not as fast as his sister, only managing half her speed.
He can see very far very clearly, able to spot even small details from hundreds of meters away.
His memory is actually extremely good, he just needs the right circumstances to memorize things properly.
Personality:
Marco is a cheerful, temperamental little ball of energy who gets passionate over things pretty easily. He is a bit gullible and easy to trick into doing stupid things, but is always willing to make up and apologize for any trouble he causes. While he struggles with his studies sometimes, he does enjoy listening to people he likes tell him about random stuff. He tends to memorize things better hearing it from a friend or his BF over the teacher (even if he likes his teach), which he believes is because he WANTS to remember everything a loved one eagerly tells him. He's very protective over those he likes, picking fights with people he might not have a chance of winning against. He's always up for shenanigans, be it helping Hitomi with her latest craft project, or going Ghost hunting with Ichirou and Janus. Gianna, like her brother has bit of a temper as well, and she tends to have little patience for stupid nonsense - or sometimes when stressed, minor inconveniences. She generally won't let people step on her or try to take advantage of her being young and new in her field. She's competitive and enjoys being center of attention, but tries to be mindful of other people's needs as well, putting aside her ego if it feels like her actions or behavior could end up harming someone. She is protective over her dumb little brother, because he has the tendency of ending up in trouble, and as much as they bicker, she loves him a lot.
Weaknesses:
Marco is gullible and easy to make do things he probably shouldn't. As a griffon, he is pretty easy to distract with shiny things/things he really wants. Be it some pretty stone, a cool videogame, or his favorite food.
He has some trouble with trying to remain focused when studying, and tends to doze off during lessons a lot, resulting in his grades not always being the greatest. In fact he's one year behind of where he should be, due to his learning difficulties, and this does frustrate him and impact his self-esteem, as he sometimes feels like he's stupid.
Gianna does have an ego, and it can sometimes cloud her thinking, making her act petty in a manner that ends up biting her in the ass later. Sometimes her bluntness can also hurt people in a way she doesn't intend it to. She also sometimes overthinks things especially when stressed, which can make her snappy and difficult to be around. Due to her busy life, she doesn't actually have close friends, which does sometimes weigh in on her, the only real confidant she has being her girlfriend's family, which she feels bad about.
Her mermaid form is harder for her to use due to her having extra bird being blood in her, and she tends to only be able to use it for couple hours at a time. Her siren song naturally isn't effective towards people with strong willpower/being deaf/just not being attracted to her even one bit.
Fun Facts
Janus and Ichirou always try to reassure Marco that he's not stupid when he says so, pointing out he's wiser than them in some aspects, such as remembering to take care of your basic needs like eating and sleeping. Not to mention he actually DOES learn well when under right conditions
Marco might also be attracted to nerdy people because he subconsciously hopes he'll become "less dumb" as well if he's around them.
His teacher Shura is working on accommodating for his learning troubles, such as giving him extra tutoring, and encouraging him to study together with Ichirou and Janus, since they seem to help him a lot
Marco's lion toebeans are a point of fascination for Janus, who likes to poke them everytime he's over and ends up falling asleep. (It's really just his general like for cats)
Janus is also on their class, but he tends to study from home a lot due to getting sick often. They actually first met because Shura asked Ichirou to bring that day's work for him, and Marco decided to tag along
Gianna's habit of overthinking things is something Marisa helps her get away from with her more "here-and-now" approach to life.
Given Kaspian's usually calm nature, she is ALWAYS shocked when his wyvern temper suddenly pops up, making him threaten to strangle someone with their intestines or something.
She actually used to question if he actually was a wyvern in the beginning due to his calmness, but then saw him absolutely demolish thugs harassing his baby brother, which made her realize that YES he is still a wyvern. (it was a scary sight)
Gianna's mermaid tail looks like a marlin tail, which explains her speed. Her hair also turns platinum blond in mermaid form.
Gianna met Marisa in the uni they both attend to, namely because Marisa accidentally blew up the wall of the designer's wing and was forced to repair it. Gianna found her quite funny and the two hit it off pretty quickly. Also she helped patch up Marisa's torn work clothing.

Mamizou Futatsuiwa:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tanuki are a species of raccoon-dogs native to Japan. Yet another of the most famous youkai in Japan is the bake-danuki, the youkai tanuki. They're notorious pranksters and shapeshifters, who often utilize their... massive testicles. You may have seen them in the movie Pom Poko.
Their representative in Touhou Project is Mamizou Futatsuiwa. (As far as I know she does not have the testicles. That's never brought up at all) She actually lived on the island of Sado in the Outside World for the longest time, being a famous folklore figure there, capable of both good and bad deeds. She came to Gensokyo by swimming all the way there, apparently.
Nue Houjuu is her long-time friend, and invited her to Gensokyo to assist the Myouren Temple in fighting against the Taoists. As such, she fights the protagonist as the Extra boss of Touhou 13: Ten Desires. She's kinda the subject of a bait and switch gag where everyone's expecting a more physically imposing youkai, like the giant skeleton gashadokuro, especially with how freaky Nue looks.
Since then, she's become a major recurring character in the series. She's a playable character and opponent in Touhou 13.5: Hopeless Masquerade, 14.5: Urban Legend in Limbo, and 15.5: Antinomy of Common Flowers. She's one of the main characters of the manga Forbidden Scrollery, and then of the manga Lotus Eaters, as well as making recurring appearances in Wild and Horned Hermit, giving her perhaps more manga screentime than any other character besides Reimu and Marisa.
Mamizou is basically a grandma. Sorta. She talks in a very "old-person" manner of speaking, wears old people clothing, and tends to act like a grandma around the more immature and innocent characters, giving them hard candies and the like. But she insists she's a young lass, of "only around a thousand years old."
Mamizou is a cunning schemer, trying to raise the status of tanuki in Gensokyo any way she can. She'd like nothing better than to rule over all of Gensokyo with an iron fist. Still, almost all her appearances have been on relatively peaceful terms with the cast. She's taking the slow route with all this. Mamizou has made many enemies, especially with the other youkai races who also wish to dominate Gensokyo, like the tengu or kappa. But she's also gathered a small army of followers, and seems to have already gathered all the tanuki in Gensokyo to her side. She's often found in the Human Village, disguised as a human, either for one of her schemes or just to hang out. Reimu knows full well about this, but thinks that if she exposed Mamizou, all that would happen is people getting mad at her for allowing Mamizou to infiltrate in the first place.
Generally Mamizou is willing to act nice to get people to do what she wants, or give her what she wants. When she's unable to manipulate people she resorts to intimidation to get what she wants. She's also incredibly prideful of her abilities, to the point of being a detriment, as she often plans half heartedly, assuming incorrectly that this is enough for a powerful genius such as herself.
That said, she's got a few friends: Nue, as said earlier, and a frenemy relationship with Suika Ibuki and Kasen Ibaraki. Her grandma-esque behavior towards younger characters seems also completely legitimate, and she's even helped at least one youkai girl gain a sense of self-worth with no ulterior motives.
Tanuki are traditionally portrayed as arch-rivals to kitsune, and Mamizou is no exception. It's said she made certain that not a single kitsune lives on the island of Sado. She despises kitsune on principle, but sadly she's never interacted with Ran to actually demonstrate this.
While Mamizou was summoned to Gensokyo to fight on behalf of the Myouren Temple, she has no real love for the place. She's by no means a devout Buddhist, or even tries to be. At best she hangs around the entrance giving advice to anyone coming in. Byakuren, in fact, cannot stand her, saying things like "why don't you turn into a rock or something- and then never change back."
She has quite the whacky spellcards. All of her bullets take the form of differently colored simplistic figures of people and animals. She's also able to summon her tanuki minions to aid her, or just to give emotional support. Her shape-shifting abilities are unparalleled in Gensokyo, with her only caveat being that she cannot remove her long tanuki tail or the leaf on her head. When shapeshifted into an opponent, she's able to flawlessly copy their attacks. She debuted this ability by turning into Reimu for her spellcard "Pseudo-Exorcism of the Stupid Shrine Maiden". She's even able to transform other people into animals! This changes depending on the person's personality and motifs.
Examples:
Reimu becomes a fox
Marisa becomes a crow
Miko becomes an owl
Koishi becomes a cat
Tenshi becomes a catfish
Yukari Yakumo becomes an axolotl (My personal favorite)
Oh yeah, and she also uses her transformation abilities to rip people off by turning leaves into money, paying with them, and then turning them back into leaves once she's safely away.

@nekasu
Yorihime bby plz (I couldn't find the exact request for this one so I paraphrased)
And now it is time for Kitsune-Lunarian baby.
Since Neka doesn't have a surname (tosses a very soft pebble at you) I give you Watatsuki no Tamahime. The name's of course taken from the fact that Yorihime's own name is a cut up version of the goddess Tamayori-hime.
Now as for a face claim I was thinking Dorthy Unsworth. Not the exact same shade of hair as Yorihime but I think it's close enough. We'll be getting to the witch motif in a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, perhaps I'm misjudging the Lunarians, but given their thing for purity, I cannot imagine that they would be very happy with a half-lunarian in their midst. Which means, despite Yorihime's own high status, Tamahime was banished to Gensokyo upon being born. Yorihime, seeing as she has vital duties as head of the Lunadrian Defense Corp, could not be banished with her. Which means the two are seperated.
That doesn't mean that Yorihime doesn't travel down to earth to visit when she can but such time is rather limited. Which means Tamahime has been chiefly raised by her father. In fact, given how easy it is for Toyohime to just teleport to Gensokyo and back, she even sees her aunt more than her own mother :c.
Given she's a kitsune who is also the daughter of one of the best channelers of Gods there is, Tamahime herself has a high aptitude for magic. Yet Neka himself is quite busy with ... nine tailed kitsune things. I dunno what a kitsune does but it's probably quite important if they have nine tails. For that reason she can't exactly rely on papa to have all the time in the world to dedicate to training her.
Rather a lot of her teachings in magic come from Gensokyo's three witches. Patchouli, Marisa, and Alice. None of them have officially taken her as an apprentice but, given her apptitude, each has been willing to share some tidbits of their knowledge with her. For this reason she's come to model her general aesthetic around witchcraft, particularly in the way that Marisa does (but with a more patchouli-esque color palette).
Just as Neka is, Tamahime is fond of puns and trickery. One may even call her a mischievous little prankster gremlin, though she would insist that it's simply the nature of a kitsune to act in such a way before stealing your books on magic (she really is just a tiny Marisa).
And here is a picrew
Tumblr media
Oh it's occuring to me I didn't provide an ability yet. Hmmm. Let me think.
Given both her mother and father have some way of channeling spirits I think an ability to do with that. Like the ability to manipulate Shikigami, just like her papa!

Traditional kitsune in Japanese mythology are known as prankster spirits. Leading wayward travelers to get lost in a forest, mess with people's supplies, cause confusion with their illusion abilities and generally be a nuisance.
Ran is not like that. She's the kind of kitsune that would punish whatever prankster who tries to mess with her home, hence why she always has an eye on Marisa should she be "visiting". She has traditional kitsune powers such as fox fire and illusions, but her skills and precision are much more refined than a younger kitsune's.

-- Amber Gibberish Notes, to be formatted someday (tm)--
Battle Strategy Guide against Amber's characters:
Tumblr media
Chloe Netherhorn:
When alone, tends to mostly throw bombs and attacks with her hatchet up close
With party, she mostly becomes support duty, buffing her allies and throwing acid puddles and bombs to enemy field, limiting their movement
Nearly hopeless against Gensokyo flight or open areas due to flight
EXTREMELY potent on indoor areas like caves
Not very experienced in battle, she's more of a 'find distraction and flee' kind of person
No spell cards nor danmaku knowledge, so youkai usually can have her way with her, so she usually does the escape option
Any battle techniques she got from Eri? He definitely gave her a few tips on surviving
Smoke bomb for escape maybe?
Key to beating her is catching her split from the party, she's really easy to beat alone unless you happened to be taken by surprise by one of her bombs
Her bombs cover a LARGE area but they take a while to light and throw
Tumblr media
Crescent:
Fairy but does not like dying
Always flying, quite fast, always using her guns to shoot from afar
Not as fast as Tengu, a bit slower than Marisa
Reimu speed? Definitely not as fast as Tengu
Not very good at close range, always tries to find a way out
in fighting game context this is like her spamming ranged attacks at the corner and then does a knockback if you get too close
Opposite of Chloe, amazing in open fields, struggles hard in caves or small areas
Physical strength is lower than human so hard to break free if someone grapples her
Able to set flame mines on the field, controls area in the sky on where enemy can fly
Uses fairy charm against first time fighters, make people drop their guard before she go pew pew
Talks about killing but doesn't really kill, alot of threats though, Helia always makes fun of her for this
Beating her would be to limit the area where she can fly, and trap her until she gives up
You do not want to KILL her, you want to TRAP her. Killing her will just trigger her respawn, making you fight her again from 'full health'
Tumblr media
Anna:
bitch
Her partner's gone so her battle techniques kind of have to adapt as well
Contrary to behavior, she's more of the defensive style than offensive
Quite quick as you expect from a kasha. Doesn't hit hard but able to dodge very well
Counter style, provokes enemy, then strikes a counter back at them (Something like Fragarach from Fate, Bazette)
parry parry parry parry
Fights with fists and black magic, mostly a medium-ranged fighter
I guess you can call her a dodge-counter type of fighter, where you parry at the right time then she strikes your weak points
The more frustrated you get with her, the more she excels in using that against you, returning your strength two-fold
Tends to look down at her opponents somewhat if they're from Gensokyo, with the exception of a few people (Yukari, Ran, Reimu, etc.)
Key to beating her is ignore her provokations and fight steadily and slowly, make her come to you instead of you coming to her
Tumblr media
Modern Eri/Fuyuki:
die lol
no really what do you think he's going to do
sing???
TELLETUBBIESSSS
TINKY WINKYYYYY
DIPSYYYYY
LAALAAAAA
POOOOOO
DORAEMON DISPENSE THE HOPTERS
Tumblr media
Rirune:
why is this boy so complicated
amber how are you even going to explain him to people so they'll even understand instead of 'lost in gnesokyo with sword'
look just try to simplify it so it's clear and people would understand I guess ljsahgjl
uhh
in teams, he's in support role, using Mayune as cover fire or Hakune as a shield for people to get in
He switches between Hakune and Mayune during battle, Hakune is great for close range, Mayune is long ranged
No he can't change the battlefield around him in the middle of battle, he's only three-tailed kitsune, so please stick with making illusion people
Rirune usually hangs back and his illusions cover him, he may or may not be casting spells like fire/blizzard/thunder
To beat him, 'break' his illusions, he'll be open by then and he has to recover his magic back, and he'll be no different from a BLM with no MP and he has to sing kumbaya until his magic comes back
Rirune even tries to protect his illusions by standing in the way, he doesn't like seeing Mayune or Hakune injured, stupid boy
in the jungle the mighty jungle the lioonn sleeps tonighttt
Physical attacks won't work, it has to be magic because... illusions weaved from magic
seriously how is anyone even going to remember all this
Rirune Shapeshifting Mode:
HAHAHAHAHAHA BUT WAIT THERE'S MOREEEE
Can shapeshift but I don't think he'll do that if it's a friendly spar, turning into their loved ones (Like Eri turning to Alice before Ran's Reimu is a BIG no)
Maybe if he wants to do a mirror match like Sakuya vs Sakuya???
When shapeshifted, he uses his illusions to make people think like he's using their abilities when it's all just an illusion to make them think he's using them
If he turns into Alice, he'll make it look like he's summoning her dolls, and even carpet bombing the area, but they're not really 'real' explosions but 'magic' explosions instead
I guess it's great because danmaku is not supposed to fatally wound anyway and he comes from Gensokyo
... actually he's really good in impersonating others in battle but it's use is so limited though
He'll definitely be able to battle '''perfectly''' as Yukari, Seiga, Alice, Orin and Satori
When I say 'perfectly', it'll look as if he can perfectly fight 'as' them in battle, compared to say, Flandre with her boom powers and Sakuya with time stop
I guess he can pretend he's Sakuya with replicating throwing a thousand knives but timestop is definitely no
Does he act OOC when trying to taunt his enemy in 'mirror matches'? For example, doing a sexy pose as Alice with a wink and stuff to make her attack him?
holy crap please talk plainly

Rank 143: Youkai Kitsune
I wanted to draw her as fox Marisa because I just think its hilarious how quickly Reimu sees through her disguise. i didn’t plan on drawing her below the head but I remembered that one line in Marik Plays Bloodlines and realised it just had  to go on her shirt.I guess thats why it looks weird near her armpits. The smol might is here because  I wanted to try a new style and they both have similar colour schemes.
