These took me way longer than they had any right to oof. I blame having never drawn tiny Ichigo AND having to figure out how a kiddo Grimmjow would look like. I still feel like Ichigo doesn't look quite right but whatever, I wanna move on already OTL
(No but forreal, Ichigo kept looking like another babyfaced character who I used to draw more regularly lol)

It's the only fic left I hadn't drawn anything for yet. TBF none of this actually happens in-story, other than potential flashbacks, as the story mainly happens post childhood-phase for Ichigo.
The first image actually happens later in time, its basically when Oni-Grimm switches/grows out from the kid-body into the preteen one, the bottom one is shortly after Ichigo managed to make friends with the grumpy catboy/demon. (Ichigo had no idea Grimm wasn't human at the time btw, nor did he know his real name)

OHHH I FORGOT TO MENTION SOME THINGS SHIT
shapes . shapes are your best friend . use them !!!! Use them when you can !! Shapes can help build bodies and backgrounds!! It can also be for dynamic poses and structures too !! Circles and squares are best examples!!
Building bodies with shapes and lines makes things easier, it helped define the body and is a viewpoint as to how you want things to be drawn!! Make base sketches and messy as you need and try to go off of there, building up figures through shapes is a biggg helpp
You also have to be aware of the tools you’re using too!! Are you using a sketch book or drawing apps? Sketches by hand are very helpful since you have more dynamic freedom but things do get messy if you scribble too much - but you and always erase big messes (note: I suggest lightly erasing!! you don’t want the base to completely go away so make sure to make it visible enough so that you can still be able to draw off it - and any details you don’t like can be erased with more finer erasers)
Drawing apps are a very different story - if you’re a beginner I highly suggest using Ibis since it’s a go too app, it’s free and it’s simple enough to where you can get the hang of stuff more easily! Theres a bunch of tutorials all over sites where people using ibis can make all sorts of art pieces! Procreate is also recommended (though it’s $15 bucks) and has much more options for artists!! It’s much more versatile with what it’s able to offer !! ( thought a small downside is that you usually have to buy pen packs if you don’t have creator codes from what I know - while for ibis pens and brushes you can find them off of sites like Google and Pinterest)
Experimenting is also a big thing!! You aren’t going to be the best at the first round but I do suggest getting a feel of the pens and brushes to know what you’re working with! Brushes have settings where you can alter the brush itself to where it can suit your needs!! Once that’s done you can start scribbling and testing out colors and shapes to see what you’re working with !!

The fucking nerve of some people!
I swear some think they're so entitled to whatever they want and everyone should bow down to them, they think themselves so brave behind a screen.
As an artist, I've had my fair deal of rotten assholes, all sorts of of them. If we bend the rules for someone, we have to bend them for everyone else, respect the blogs and their rules, we have boundaries and we only ask for respect, writers are over here writing for FREE for the likes of you, when they are in their damn right to charge money for their time and effort.
If its supposedly so 'easy' , then I ask why don't you do it yourself? I'm so fucking tired of hearing people say this, as both a writer and an artist people are always saying "Its just some scribbles" "how hard can it be?" A. LOT. If you want something good, it takes time and effort.
Stop. Complaining. Or. Make. Your. Own. Shit.
Good writing takes time, let the writers be.
Leave them alone.
Things like these make me so angry!
But with that being said, I'm sorry you have to deal with this Lumi, you don't deserve it at all, take all the time you need to rest up, we will be waiting for you! 💞

like, i was already expecting for things like these to happen when i started the blog and it's usually easy to deal with. i delete the ask and go on with my day. but now that i'm on vacation, i can't fill my head with college and estágio (i forgot how to say it in english but you'll understand) so i kinda got more self conscious. and thank you for the sweet words 🥺
(and as in for your art, bestie, it really sucks when you as an artist use your time to do something beautiful and shares your art with people for free as you said just to get that in return. i hope you won't have to deal with that again, or else i'll have to hunt some people down for saying bad things to you 😠)

"This movie isn't THAT boring, is it?"
Since tomorrow is valentine's day, I wanted to make at least one Shigadabi thing. Now I initially meant this to be like...Devil's Doppleganger Tenko & Touya, but I auto-drew them in their more default looks (Blue hair for Tenko/Tomura, burns for Dabi) so...
This could be for Reanimate instead, since Tenko draws in that one (the bg things are meant to be drawings, not posters - also yes they are my old pieces lol I keep using this trick bcuz I'm lazy), or this could be for @theteapotofdoom's Something Good too I guess?
(Would make a bit more sense with the Kurogiri drawing, Reanimate Tenko doesn't interact with him as much, and would be more likely to have a drawing of Aizawa tbh)
......Or it's just the default boys whom I just dumped into rainbow again lol, altho that All Might does throw it off

Decided to combine this coloring revamp with the color palette series I've been making. Did adjust some minor details from the lineart here and there too, but this largely didn't need much tweaking. Still didn't have BG ideas so just used the splash texture I made for the original again, just more subtle in color and all.
...I feel like lot of fanart I make for a little while will be projects like this, I just don't really have ideas/motivation to make it from scratch atm. I have drawn a LOT already in the past, what, 5 years, anyway. There's easily gonna be quite a few older pieces that I feel like I could've colored better.

Dipping back to my old fandom kinda made me want to bring back/redesign another, very old (I'm talking 10 years) character that was loosely inspired by Grimmjow back then. Also bcuz I need more lesbian ships, and she (Reina) used to have a fun one with her GF.
Unfortunately the said GF belonged to my friend, and that character has no up-to-date design. She also has no time to really make one, so I just decided to utilize another (recently) scrapped character of mine to design her a new one, while keeping some aspects of that old dynamic I loved. Like Reina being a silly, annoying goof towards her GF lol
There's going to be at least one more decade old character involved with this group, that I want to bring back because of how much I still love his design lol
Generally speaking, I should probably just think of my characters as small groups with their own dynamics, rather than constantly think of the big picture, as that gets too overwhelming too quickly....
Fun facts about the two below:
The bow in Irina's cardigan serves as the top button as well, and sometimes she wears it with only that button closed.
She can transform her umbrella into a blade or a whip, and use it as a shield or float with it. or just to smack when her kitty is being mischievous
she has a yellow sleeveless top and black leggings under her cardigan and boots.
Reina is from a special werecat family that are also known as Stormbringers, as each member has an elemental power somehow connecting to storms. Reina's is wind element
Irina was adopted by a Winter Warlock (whose patron is Jack Frost) called Marcus Vasile, when she was a toddler. She was abandoned there by her family who didn't know what to do with her magic powers
Marcus is a Romanian noble, or has noble heritage to be exact, though he's mostly seen as an eccentric rich hermit, or was before he got himself a daughter.
Reina is close with her older brother whose element is lightning; they bicker and fight a lot, but make for a badass fighter team once they work together.
Same can be said about Reina and Irina, although they don't actually physically fight, just bicker a lot.

A continuation of the previous Cyberpunk themed piece. Basically What happens sometime after Hayden (The MC, I'll post his design eventually too) speaks with Kousai, this guy's subordinate. I decided to make Kuromoya even more like his dad for this AU, including him smoking a kiseru pipe.
Kuromoya is supposed to be Hayden's love interest in this AU, which makes their first meeting here kinda funny; he was just trying to sneak in to find info he was told these guys know, and of course stumbles into the boss' quarters, who notices him before he can run away lol
Kind of a BG practice thing too. I kinda thought this would maybe work better as like a fake visual novel screenshot, but since the previous one was a comic page-look, I stuck with it.

The next duo of ladies for the drawing series, or well, this one's kind of an extra.
Context: These two belong to my friend, @mad-hatter-rici, and I was in need of proper refs for them for ages and ages. I decided to use this drawing series to make some sort of up-to-date designs for them with my friend's help and input, so I can FINALLY draw them with their family boys (the husband/dad and big brother/son) in the future. These are their mage outfits according to her, as they are a bit too fancy for modern everyday wear lol
They're both mages, to be exact Mellina is a Sorceress with an in-world powerful and ancient form of magic, called Lightcaster. I don't recall what my friend planned Mia to be rn, though
Also, In case you're curious, here's the men of the family (plus bonus son-in-law essentially, as I haven't drawn Diojas separately yet lol):
(Diojas has a different surname because he was kidnapped as a baby, and Alexander found him later and stuck by him as a bodyguard while hiding the fact he was his bio dad because of plot reasons)

So it's mermay, I suppose it is time to make stuff related to that.
I figured this was a good excuse to draw Caelan's sea serpent half-form, as that is kinda merman-like. The skull mask he wears essentially represents him being a Sea Serpent rather than a merman. He can of course transform fully into an actual proper sea drake, this is an in-between form. He can also remove the skull mask.
(I will also draw his cousin, he's a Bigger Boi and might end up looking more dragon like than merman like)
Also included his color ref as the atmosphere lighting in the main pic changes the colors quite a bit.

Once again, I'm struggling to translate traditional stuff to digital form lmao. It turned out I had no choice but to use my crappy phone camera, because I realized I hadn't installed the scanner software on my laptop yet (nor did I have the patience to figure that out rn) and I can't find my proper camera.....
As a result, I had to adjust the photo quite a bit, and this ended up looking somewhat different than it is IRL, as usual. This issue kinda sucks, as I thought about making traditional stuff more, but posting it is always such a hassle OTL

Finished this. When I don't have BG ideas, I tend to start playing around with colors like this. I did grab the palette from the OG version. (Original version here, warning its VERY old and it shows lmao)
Also apparently I'd written down the scene this is from into the OG drawing too, but the thing is, due to my revamping of this fic in 2020, I probably reworded that scene as well so I had to go and find it anyway lol. Thankfully the original piece at least says which chapter it was from.
From chapter 18 of Reanimate:
Tenko woke up to the noise of his window opening.
He looks up groggily, finding Dabi standing on his room as usual. He sighs and slumps down closing his eyes and throwing an arm over his eyes.
"..Is this revenge for waking you up so ’early?”
"No, but now that you said it...”
Dabi chuckles and plops beside him, prying the arm away from Tenko’s eyes, gaining a pouty look as a response. The red eyes turn concerned soon however, as a spots the hint of unease in the glowing eyes.
"What’s the matter?”
He asks, shifting to his side and brushing three fingers over his stitched cheek. Dabi remains quiet for a while, just examining his face closely. He was clearly thinking of something sappy again, but for once Tenko didn’t call him out on it, not when he looked a bit spooked by something.
"It’s probably nothing, I just...I’ve been feelin’ a lil under the weather today.”
"What? You got a flu or something? Can walking candles like you get a flu?”
Tenko asks and jokingly places the three fingers against his forehead, gaining a chuckle from his boyfriend, who grasps the fingers and kisses them gently. It was brave, most who knew his quirk wouldn’t touch his hands so easily, but Dabi wasn’t most people.
"Nah, just....I’m guessing I’m still a lil’ weirded out about the park thing. I don’t usually go to that direction, even when drunk.”
"Yeah it was weird. Then again you just saw Shoto, so maybe your drunk brain wanted to go see him.”
Dabi shrugs, not knowing whenever that was true or not. He then pauses and contemplates on something for a moment, long enough for Tenko’s worry to return.
"Really, what is it?”
"Ah...I just...I actually saw Shoto today too, and he told me something about that morning that kinda creeped me out.”
"Huh?”
"He said...he said there was something weird about my eyes. He didn’t outright say it, but I could tell whatever he saw then scared him. Now, I don’t care if I freak out coupla punks on the street or so, but I’d....I don’t want Shoto to be scared of me, ever.”
He huffs that all out in one breath, and once he’s done, he rolls to his back and rubs his eyes, cursing under his breath. Tenko waits for a moment, then shifts to rest on top of him, and Dabi instantly places his arms around his boyfriend, hand resting on his lower back.
"I don’t think he was. He probably just imagined things, with how it was dark and all. You do look spooky in pitch blackness. Remember that time you scared Spinner shitless when lights went out due to a storm?”
Tenko pokes his forehead with a finger, and Dabi let’s out a chuckle, lifting a hand to mingle it into the light blue hair. It was always so soft to touch, he couldn’t stop doing it every time he saw this often angry, sometimes playful and always gorgeous mophead.
"Yeah, he almost smacked me thinkin’ I was a ghost or something. It ain’t my fault he’s a lil bitch that gets scared easily.”
Tenko hums, leaning his head against his palm - pinkie not touching of course - and Dabi nearly had a heart attack at that moment. His mophead was so damn pretty, especially with the light from the window behind them forming a halo around his delicately colored hair.
"Dabi. Stop with the sap.”
"Why do you keep whining about it when you clearly like it?”
"It’s a matter of principle, scarecrow.”
The fire user laughs at that, feeling his mind ease a bit. He felt more relaxed now, the uneasy feeling having been lifted from him with just a bit of playful banter. He uses his hand on Tenko’s hair to bring him closer, and the boy doesn’t resist, answering the kiss with as much enthusiasm as Dabi showed by initiating it.
Yeah, it was a good call to come here.
Tenko had a calming effect on him, just like he had a calming effect on Tenko.
After a moment, he rolled over to pin the skinnier boy beneath him, gaining a slight squeak and a pouty look, which quickly disappears as he continues the kiss.
Yeah, this was fine.
Right now he was fine.

Caelan's cousin, Laurent. Since his OG design included a high-contrast with oranges/yellows and blues, I decided to keep that theme for his sea serpent merman form. Only since I ended up using greenish hues, I went with red.
He's a biiig boi, and does actually have another half-human form; it has dragonic legs instead of a sea-serpent tail. I just figured this is more in-theme for mermay lol

My friend's bday is soon, and since she's currently very into the Spiderverse movies, I figured I could draw her some stuff relating to it, as my physical gift will be late this year due to being busy with moving. (I haven't had time to go see the movie either despite wanting to, unfortunately)
So. Decided to draw the Araknos siblings going to see it as the first thing, since figured the spider-themed kids would make sense for this lol (Their older brother is probs there too, but he's a sea serpent and I wanted to focus on these two only)
Hitomi is dressed as Spider-Gwen as apparently she'd be her favorite, and Ichirou just picked Miles because all he knows rn is that he's apparently the main(?) character.
