"Hii! I'd like a romantic partner matchup with characters form Doki Doki and MHA please!
I enjoy reading and cooking and I'm working on starting my own band! My favorite subjects are music and english. I have insomnia so I like to watch anime in the time I'm supposed to try to be sleeping.
I have an ENFP personality type and I would absolutely need cuddles and PDA in a relationship." -Anon request
I match you with;
Yuri from DDLC
Tumblr media
Yuri fits your criteria almost perfectly! While she's more introverted, I imagine she'd be quiet good with taking care of you and being by your side.
She loves to make tea for both of you and sit down with a book while you watch your shows.
While she doesn't get all that much into your animes and your shows, she does try to analyze the characters and go through fan theories/ make theories of her own with what little she watches.
She loves when you two can cook and bake together, so while you cook up a meal she'll make up a tea to serve or read a book to herself in the room with you so you aren't alone.
I imagine if you wanted to start a band, she'd be rather supportive but I can't say I see her playing any instruments- but she does bring snacks and drinks so you don't wear yourself out while performing or practicing .
Momo Yaoyorozo from My Hero Academia
Tumblr media
Momo fits your need for cuddles as well as your struggling with insomnia!
Momo is a kind hearted girl who can create anything - I definitely see you and her being very close.
She can study up and make you a pillow and special blanket to cuddle with when you stay up watching anime.
She's quite good with doing projects together- and while you tastes in music may be vastly different, your love for English ties you two together.
I think you starting a band would also be something that would interest her, she would try and make instruments to help and play if you'd be willing to play together with her, in fact- without having to make anything - she knows already how to play piano and the keyboard.
With you making meals it helps with her quirk so it's mutually beneficial- she makes you tools to relax and you give her the means to make them.
Either way both of them would love and care for you- albeit in different ways.

Would that be possible one day to share more of your thoughts and headcanons about Annalise and the King ?
I only know a handful of people with ideas on them (a shame because there’s so much potential !) And recently it made me think about that post you made about them some time ago.  It might have influence me a bit to much as well.
Hey! Thank you for the ask! I believe you are referring to this ( x ) post, in which I focused specifically on the dynamic between the two, but yes I do have more stuff to say! I believe that since I talked about relationship itself in previous post, this time it will be fair to share ideas on each individually, however before I also want to notice that whereas I am woefully bad at having 'OTPs' as I jiggle too many timelines and ideas in my head all the time, this ship is my next closest thing to an OTP so far <:3 Even if Annaliese somehow was to find new love and was happy, the king would still remain 'the one' in her eyes. And, yes, NO cursed ritual marriages ever again! Only normal one, if at all.
Tumblr media
The last time I talked about him, I was yet to pick a name for him besides just Cain-number-noone's-counting, but you can see it is sorta fixed now! I am doodling face references like this for myself to have faster time drawing faces, and had him drawn already, but it took me some time to find higher resolution of the portrait I am basing Elias' appearance of! So I've noticed he seems to have asymmetrical eyebrows, his right eye semi-closed and scratches on his forehead! Not saying eye thing can't be just resolution issue, and not saying scratches can't be picture ITSELF cracking from ages, but my general rule as an artist is - if I can pass something as 'imperfection' of appearance then I will! As I like having more things to draw, heh. I do not have an idea about how he got scars on his forehead yet however, but maybe the trauma is connected to what hurt his eye? In either case, on portraits he probably always shows his left side as a result.
Also, interesting thing is that clothes on his portrait resemble those of a cut enemy known as King Ghost Low-class! There is a similar enemy known as King in Blue, and he has different model! I learned about the difference from fanon wikia, that has page for King Ghost here ( x ) and for King in Blue here ( x ), and also from Lance McDonald in this ( x ) video where King Ghost is shown in the 4:24 - 6:33 frame and King in Blue is shown in the 6:34 - 8:49 frame! I thrown some references for how I will draw Elias in this pile below (also featuring picture from that super long model showcase video from Sinclair Lore ( x ) and detailed picture from this ( x ) tweet)
Tumblr media
I headcanon that after unholy marriage ritual with Annalise that ultimately helps to conceive the blood child, Elias would sort of burst from his previous body into new form and look much more resembling this silver haired man impression cut content had! You can also notice that this enemy has three variants - with short sword and a shield, with a lance and a shield, and with short sword and a sphere! I headcanon that past the ritual, Elias has 'phantoms', kinda like Brador, except three instead of four and they'd attack with different weapons just like these variants! And like how Brador's phantoms look like his former self (when he is younger and with one horn on the hyde isn't broken), Elias' phantoms likewise look like his previous self and wear his former clothes! Meanwhile, real Elias now has what King in Blue wears:
Tumblr media
Elias is one of like, two historically known crowned 'kings of blood' (not JUST kings of this line) that didn't turn into screeching tortured mess and died shortly after the ritual was complete! In fact, he remained ALMOST sane - however, the curse now tangled with him is very intense. The many colorful beads he wears later are charms that if removed will subject him for being tormented by Frenzy coming from within, as opposed to some Kin biting him or peering into a giant brain! If Bloodborne was an anime, in the final stage of battling Rogeriusz (Logarius), he would tear these charms off and jump from the tall roof of Cainhurst - only to fly back with Frenzy spears forming from his back and working like wings! Real vampire king moment, haha. And, he could use them as arrows to shoot from a bow conjured from blood magic! I should draw this scene someday..
There is another interesting bit, by the way.
Tumblr media
You might notice that the statue that GOTTA be that of Rogeriusz has more or less typical Executioner outfit (if only heavier, more wizard-like than hunter-like)! That doesn't line up with what he is wearing when we find him, now does it? Besides he uses some 'cursed' magic, that whereas he indeed gotta be a Pthumerian himself, doesn't really fit a fanatical servant of the Healing Church? That made me think he didn't just sit on the throne for like 30 years but had to interact with Cainhurst more or less!
I decided that by murdering Elias/Cain, he became more like an 'amalgam' with his wrathful spirit. Elias' dying wills (blood echoes) are too strong to just perish, as not only he is carrying a link to a powerful "curse" but is a high ranking vileblood that must have immortal conscious like Annalise (and like Queen Yharnam)! Will of Rogeriusz is somewhat stronger and hence this person is still identified as just himself, but ghost of Elias lives in and tortured him from within, and things have changed. He has to wear the charms of colorful gems now too, as you can see! However, the amalgam fights more or less in harmony when the paleblood hunter approaches the throne. Rogeriusz wants to guard the secret he discovered (aka festered animosity between Church and Cainhurst having political advantage underneath and massacre being a ploy to obtain Great One's cord AND Laurence himself having arrived from Cainhurst), but Elias has reason to fear hunter is in to harm Annalise.
In other times, however…..
Tumblr media
I believe had it been anyone else to kill Rogeriusz - they'd undoubtedly inherit the cursed spirit of Elias, and would probably lack blind fanatism of Rogeriusz that allowed him to persist, too! But I have means to headcanon that the paleblood moon effect repels the 'cursed' magic of Cainhurst and Pthumeru Ihyll likevice, so he would not be able to do anything to a paleblood hunter! In general, this line and the Kin of Moon are antagonistic by design; blood children are Amygdalas, opposites of celestial larvae and Ebrietas! Like demons and angels. After all, their connection with the 'moon' is something Annalise recognises as well:
Tumblr media
I described the theory in this ( x ) post before, but TLDR; Annalise's hair lost all melanin as result of (almost) birthing a Great One, like what happened with Arianna, and the cord used to create Hunter's Dream was from her aborted baby, that was very close to being born though. Her face underneath this mask is distorted now - I headcanon that for the same reason Flora has her face the way it is, as her child was ripped from her guts before it was born! But it is not just that Annalise now looks 'scary'.
Since her own mask strongly resembles what her guardians wear, I presume the mask additionally serves to connect her with the guards telepathically more (or rather, see through their eyes and 'help' them). Like how Choir can still see even in their blindfold caps but only where 'stars' guide them, and like how Executioners can still see even through Gold Ardeo (and bag that keeps it) guided by ingrained quest for 'purity', guards have their ways around a headgear that is SUPPOSED to make them blinded too. And 'solitary' within the mask means absence of this connection for a long, long while.
I believe that she refers to you as the only 'blood relative' left in relevance to consuming her blood specifically - something that can run out its effect! Because if she means family - at least Maria still exists in spirit (that should be enough for vilebloods that transcend mortality), and if she means servants - Crow of Cainhurst still exists, right? Crow is still loyal to her in his insanity (still collecting blood dregs for her that he can't even deliver her), but he hasn't consumed her blood for years, so the telepathic bond between them is broken. Annalise has this bond with those in whom her "impurity" runs active, though! However our hunter would not be able to feel the true effect because… you know, paleblood moon block. They feel only a warming 'presence' rather than full connection - to the better possibly, as the latter tends to become addicting. I mean just look at Crow not being able to get over serving her decades later :')
Tumblr media
I drew her portrait with her hair down, more like her hairstyle on concept art rather than hairbun from THE portrait! I believe this is the same dress minus the decor and jewellery, but sleeves of this dress had to be trimmed to keep her forearms free - she is supposed to share the blood from her veins without anything getting on the way! Though I believe her cuts heal within matter of seconds, and as long as her form persists, her blood seems to be endless. No such thing as dying from blood loss possible!
She had strong pride and dignity since childhood, that nobody had to teach her, but she showed the potential of a true royal this way. I already explained how her personality meshes with more mellow Elias' one in other post, yeah. I think when Alfred confronted her, she did not resist, basing it on how she won't let some maddened, barbarian boy force her to struggle or fear! She had not all that much to fear either with her consciousness being immortal, basically gave him the "a serpent never dies" attitude AND was right; I think the reason Alfred minecrafted himself had to do with her vengeful spirit! I talked about mysteries paleblood hunter could hold a few times now, but Alfred is only a normal human, you know? It is still a valid idea that Alfred only held on his noble quest and had nothing to live for once it was complete, but in my version he was sound with the idea of letting ideas of Rogeriusz live on through him and still hunt the beasts! I think based on his summon location he was also VERY interested in cleansing Old Yharnam.
…until after killing Annalise, he quickly ended with such intense dread, perceiving cursed knowledge he was not prepared for but that she casually juggled for decades in her solitude, and he just did not see a way to live like this. So he is dead on altar for Rogeriusz more as clinging to the only person/idea that brought him comfort, rather than coming to complete his quest. Basically, unless you are already connected to the divine that 'protects' you - never touch a current active blood queen! There was a good reason Executioners only messed with her baby and didn't kill her self. Alfred would know that if he loredigged more responsibly :(
That said, Annalise often lucid dreams, which in BB lore is as good as astral projection. She sometimes tries to reach Maria in her trance, but it never avails her anything - every time she is met with strong sea waves beating her away. When she is asleep, she could occasionally communicate with ones like Patches, that she finds mildly entertaining! She is aware of Micolash too and could communicate with him too, when he is willing to distract from research and Kos - it would be hypocritical to judge him, as she allowed the person she loved to take on nearly suicidal ritual and continues the ancient legacy heavily reliant on sacrifices and cursed rituals and necromancy. Well, at least, intended to, before Healing Church ruined everything. But, she thinks they share some things in common.
Also it is hard to not notice that she refers herself and her clan as 'unholy' and 'impure' etc, but that is less so internalised attitude induced by Healing Church - it has further roots in Pthumerian history that she is well educated on. Annalise is not the type to feel ashamed just because the moon presence governing this world decided ones like her "sinful"; she refers to her as impure in the same vein as people reclaiming slurs addressed to them or something like that! Iosefka and the imposter, on the other hand…..? Annalise is well aware of how hard they fell for the fear and prospect of being 'saved from natural depravity' (especially the imposter). If they were to return and beg her forgiveness for trading their legacy for agenda for Healing Church, and 'stars and moon' if you look further - she'd accept on the terms that they make their existence within the castle impossible for her to acknowledge. She oddly combines practical inability to forgive breaking her trust and accepting people searching for the right way no matter how many mistakes they make. Like, 'it is valid you realised, but first I'll be mad at you for 100 years' ahaha
___________
Alllllright, you aren't asleep yet? xD
This has been a lore and details lecture for quite a while ahaha; I tried to focus more on that, but I hope that the reply was at least somewhat entertaining! Thank you for letting me talk about these characters though! :) And I agree with you, I am rather surprised the vampire queen did not get more popular? But, yeah, if you found any of this useful, feel free to take inspiration!

Watching the season 1 finale is really making me think Darius's mentor/previous Golden Guard might've been the petrified one.* Because in the news broadcast about Eda getting sentenced to petrification, there's an infographic banner at the bottom that pretty much says "this will be the first petrification in 30 years."
It seems like a pretty specific detail that sticks out enough to suggest significance and something more than just small-scale worldbuilding. And it seems to click better after "Hollow Mind" with the revelation that Belos kills “traitorous” Golden Guards and what looks like one pictured as being specifically petrified to death.
Also tbh while after consuming a lot of media I'm pretty aware of some truth in "writers struggle with math" especially because I feel like I've fallen to that in like writing for pleasure, and so I feel a bit more like sorta flexible on that, but...well, I still wondered about Darius's age at the time if going by "last petrification was 30 years ago." And just based on the flashback in "Them's the Breaks, Kid," just putting Darius roughly at Eda's age, and a wiki said she's like 43-45 in the present day. So I just went with the highest number first and got--
15. If the last petrification 30 years ago was the previous Golden Guard, Darius was 15 at the time. Jfc.
(Between that and being reminded that Hexside seems to actually have the equivalent of kindergarten to high school students in attendance but divided into their own groups, I'm starting to think that previous GG could've started looking after an even younger Darius... For more of my thoughts on that, may just save it for more of like a fic/headcanon post.)
And again, the S1 finale that drops the info that the last petrification execution was 30 years ago? It's talking about Eda being the first petrification since then. Eda, Luz's mentor. Practically the whole S1 finale focuses on Luz desperately trying to save Eda. And Luz saves Eda from petrification--but what if the last time 30 years ago, Darius couldn't save his mentor from petrification?
And the S1 finale also does spend time on Luz acting understandably and rightly furious with Lilith, and pretty much wanting to make her pay for what she did to Eda along with trying to save Eda. But then it all works out, because Lilith ultimately doesn't want Eda petrified and helps Luz save her. But Belos/Philip isn't Lilith and shows no mercy or ultimately compassionate intentions for his kin--so wouldn't that leave Darius festering in revenge because he really did lose his mentor, and his murderer never relented and has so far gotten away with it, along with tightening control over the Boiling Isles?
Tl;dr the S1 finale petrification was averted for Luz and Eda and Lilith, but 30 years ago the petrification execution went bad for Darius and the previous Golden Guard and it furthered Philip's/Belos's cruelty.
Tl; dr that some literal details (last successful petrification said to have happened 30 years ago, Belos has executed all previous Golden Guards for “betraying” him, one GG is pictured getting petrified) and thematic elements (the info about petrification 30 years ago and petrification itself being a big plot element in an episode thematically following a student trying to save their mentor and wanting revenge against the person who threatened their mentor) could suggest that what Luz and Eda avoided happened to Darius and the previous GG.
*I feel like Belos has gone through a lot of Golden Guards, he might've...repeated some methods of execution over time.
And I could see the Golden Guard petrification becoming less public knowledge over time and turning into just "the last petrification was 30 years ago" over the news, like Belos through official and unofficial means silencing and otherwise obscuring talk of the last Golden Guard getting petrified even if he may've been publicly marked as a traitor to the covens at the time of execution. May want to silence info for some convenience, to suppress the idea that such a high-ranking coven member ended up turning traitor/rebel and avoid making him a martyr/symbol for a larger resistance movement** (executing him works as an example in the moment, but then cover it up later/don't want the example to possibly get out of hand and lead to troublesome perceptions), to manipulate the next Grimwalker clone better (Hunter doesn't know what happened to the last Golden Guard, i.e. doesn't know he betrayed Belos and got killed for it), etc.
**I’d say for that Belos mostly succeeded--Darius is driven to rebel because of his mentor’s murder, but depending on the extent of the current rebellion (any more of it could still be secret for now), Belos did avoid a larger resistance movement springing up around the petrification of the last Golden Guard. But again, Darius was driven to rebel, and he helped inspire rebellion in Hunter, the latest Golden Guard--just Darius rebelling alone is significant.

Lolololol, I apologize. I mean the physical aspects of the kids.
I’ve always HCd Egbert as a pretty short and with a bit of pudge! Which may be in part because I used to project on John a bit, then I realized I was trans and kinned Jade, and now June is a thing and I am like “Oh, huh, has it come full circle?”
Dave’s generally slim and sorta average height, he always seemed like a sorta average-y pretty boy.
Jade is like, super tall and nicely toned, y’all know my Jade. Y’all know. Massive Projection Hours going on. The more fluffy girl to pet and cuddle...
Rose is t i n y, like, five feet and under because what is the point of having a 7′ tall vampire wife if she cannot lift you off the ground like you weigh nothing and carry you to bed after you’ve been Marathoning She-Ra for several hours straight- Also soft...
Jane Jane Jane, average height, I always latched onto fat Jane and I still do. A good parallel with Egbert also being somewhat chubby... She’s cute, friend-shaped, and WILL probably lift you up with little effort because she’s got that Crockerbert muscle strength.
Jake, hunky, but not TOO hunky. I cannot for the life of me imagine Jake as like, a super-masculine full-hunk, there’s a degree of twunk-ness that can not be ignored. Similar to the parallel between Jane and Egbert, Jake is athletic like Jade, but in a less marked way.
Rooooooox, I used to headcanon Roxy as pretty short like Rose, but lately I’ve really been leaning into Rox being one of the tallest humans. If we’re talking Candy Rox, she’s going for the whole suburban mom vibe and honestly, pretty. Average-ish build. If we’re talking Meat Rox? More slim build, the twink to Jake’s twunk.
Dirk... I used to go for a sorta average, and sometimes even toned look for him. But. Ever since the Pesterquest rotue... I really like tiny Dirk, which also mirrors tiny Rose. Maybe it’s because it contrasts with his attitude of grandeur in HS^2, like a physical reminder of this just being a messed up young adult that needs some major counselling and therapy. Turns out that’s what the “TT” stands for in the end, Tiny and Therapy. THAT SAID. Buff hunk Ult Dirk from Pesterquest too? Listen. It feels wrong. It’s not necessarily a headcanon. But. It’s a look I definitely don’t mind for him.
Generally though? With few exceptions, my headcanons fluctuate and are VERY influenced by artists I like and fanart I find around, and I’m pretty open to all kinds of depictions for them! It’s half of the fun of the character designs!

I adore the Walten Family so I'm just gonna dump all my headcanons for them here-
· Jack and Rosemary are both artists, but Rose is more focused on figure stuff while Jack makes scenery peices. Rose is good at realism and is an even better cartoonist. Jack works with acrylics and watercolor and paints city or town centered illustrations. He doesn't draw people that much because their faces in particular turn out unintentionally unsettling
·Sorta an add on to the first bullet but Rosemary would help Jack get better at figure drawings, it was one of their first shared hobbies before they started dating
·Sophie's hair color resembles her mother more but it curls up in a way that's more similar to her father's hair
·Sophie's favorite holiday is Halloween and she would go BIG on costumes. She would prepare months in advance for who she wanted to be and what materials she needed. Jack and Rose would start decorating the house as soon as the 1st of October came about, all just to make their little girl happy
·Sophie would get into horror films at a young age since she would have an unknown teenage babysitter that would put on old tapes of classic monster movies at night, she got really invested real quick
·since its canon that if they were still around at the time, they would be supportive of Sophie coming out, then Jack and Rose would of LOVED meeting Jenny. She's an outgoing person, would be happily involved in family activities, and she brings the best out of Sophie- the two of them would of already be joking about her being their future daughter-in-law
· Ed and Sophie would constantly bicker and fight over the stupidist shit and 5 minutes late be like: "Hey I'm setting up water balloons to throw at Uncle Felix when he gets here, you wanna join in?" "Aw hell yeah!!"
·Molly was super attached to all her toys and would bring as many as she could with her for bedtime to be tucked in
·Sophie's favorite animatronic was Billy, Ed's was Boozoo and Bon, and Molly's fav was Banny
·Ed and Molly would kin Dipper and Mabel respectively in a modern day au
·Rosemary is short and plus sized/chubby while Jack is a scarily tall and lanky man, he loves to scoop her up from the ground bridal style so everyone can see his tiny wife💕
·Jack and Rosemary are both bisexuals. As teens they would equally gush over peers or celebrities they had crushes on. They would also do each others hair, make up, etc.
·Felix never felt like Jack's marriage to Rose took away his best friend, and Rose never thought Jack's friendship with Felix was taking away her husband' time with her. There wasn't any weird "best friend and wife fight over man's quality time with one another" trope. Jack made sure they knew cared deeply for both of them! The only reason Felix and Jack didn't get to hang out more personally was because both were so busy with running the restaurant, and over time the Waltens started having more kids. Jack still loved and trusted Felix, he just wasn't able to be there due to so much stuff over time..
I might add on to this more later but I'm done for today goodbyeeee

Okay uh minor vent about the Foolsamponk AU and why I haven't been making as much of it as before:
What originally started as a just for fun AU has sorta spiralled a bit as you can see with 2/3 of the already posted oneshots being about Sam's trauma and how he has frequent nightmares. It took a turn from being dumb, silly, and having a sorta nonsensical plot tooo... honestly it's just coping with trauma, each character having shit coping mechanisms.
Most of the shit coping mechanisms are woth Sam who, sorta because he is what's called Hiss-Kin (I'll give them a post when I get around to world building headcanons on another post) he deals with very, VERY heavy depersonalization. Specifically he deals with the type where he doesn't feel "human", he sees himself as nothing more than a unrestrained beast. Something similar goes with Foolish in this AU.
It just a lot in the AU's story and it took a very dark turn at some point without me really realizing.
What was once an AU about moving on while mending relationships and healing, turned into an AU about broken people who are almost completely broken, which isn't really what I want.
In summary: I'm trying to get the main theme to go back to being lighthearted and fun with occasional dark stories since that's what happens when you have trauma, which made me loose just a little bit of motivation for the whole thing.
I know I shouldn't apologize for that, but I'm sorry for not feeling like I'm doing enough for this thing that I love. I'll get back to working on everything and I'm still aiming for uploading once a week, but motivation comes and goes easily.

escape, fluff, kin, for TWO ocs each of your choice (:
(How about Mahinnah’s sorta cousins Fionn and Mahanon? ;3c)
Escape: What do they do to destress? How successful is it?
Fionn: Fionn likes to spend time with his lover, cousin, or friends, taking a ride on his hart, crafts things from wood, or finds a nice quiet spot to read or work on one of his maps that he’s drawing. It might take some time depending on how stressed he is but it is pretty much always successful.
Mahanon: He reads, loses himself in research of elven history, practices his magic or experiments with it, goes to the stable and grooms his hart Revas or takes Revas out for a ride, hangs out with friends or his cousin, or spends time with his lover.
Fluff: What hits their soft spot? Does anything make them emotional goo?
Fionn: Fionn has a soft spot for animals and children. Nothing makes him come closer to gushing than cute animals and small children happy and playing.
Mahanon:  Mahanon has a soft spot for animals, his family, his lover, and in one verse his “daughter” Catalina the high dragon baby that he raises with his lover Cadmus Pentaghast. Things that never fail to make him turn into goo are when his love does something very sweet for him, watching the children of his clan playing, learning, and living happily, and watching his “daughter” Catalina doing cute things.
Kin: What’s their role among their relations? Do they consider others family?
Fionn: He’s the grandson of Keeper Deshanna, son of Farren the Clan’s craftsman and Alana Lavellan a former city elf and rogue, and best friend/brother/cousin of Mahanon. He also is one of the Clan’s best hunters and a spy for them. He considers his blood relatives, Clan, pets, lover and his friends his family.
Mahanon: He’s the grandson of Keeper Deshanna, adopted son of his Uncle Farren and his wife Alana Lavellan, brother/best friend/cousin of Fionn, and the First of Clan Lavellan. He considers his blood relatives, Clan, lover, pets, and friends his family.
Thank you so much for asking! ♡ฅ(ᐤˊ꒳ฅˋᐤ♪)

Griffin (any version)?
Oh gosh, I have to pick one? Ah heck, I don’t have the heart, I’m gonna cover as many as I know
H.G. Wells book Griffin
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (would probably think better of him were he not so cold to literally everyone)hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (I’m torn because the closest he has to positive traits seem to fit either Slytherin or Gryffindor but so do his negatives traits)best quality: Damn do I wish I had his kind of drive and determination. (Not for the things he did of course, just in general.)worst quality: Pretty much everything else.ship them with: Kemp. Maybe Thomas Marvel too were Griffin not so mean to him.brotp them with: …Kemp, too, I guess?needs to stay away from: Everyone.misc. thoughts: I pity him to a degree, but I do not and will probably never agree with anyone who tries to tell me that he’s better than his ‘33 film counterpart; he’s just a different flavor of asshole from his Claude Rains-portrayed counterpart, and I don’t trust anyone who tries to argue otherwise.
Dr. Jack Griffin (Claude Rains 1933 film version)
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | I’m kin with them to some degree (I’m sorry for sorta stealing this from you kara) | actual love of my lifehotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (I love myself but not enough to bang me)hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (Again, torn for similar reasons to the above, though I think his positive traits are more evident in this one. Also I could arguably see him as a Ravenclaw I suppose.)best quality: Oh gosh, that’s kinda tough… His voice is certainly a unique quality, and his ambition is about on par with that of his book counterpart, but I think what I like most about this take on him is how he cares about Flora and does not want her caught in the middle of this mess he’s gotten himself into. It’s a brief glimpse into a different side of him that the film never gets to show us elsewhere, and it’s the main reason why I can’t say he’s as bad as his book counterpart because at least there seems to have been a point where he wasn’t a terrible person.worst quality: I feel like his insistence that he could handle everything himself with no outside help played a big part in how things got as bad as they did for him, and also please stop killing people, Griffinship them with: Flora, of course. I’d add Kemp too, but… well…brotp them with: Again, I’d say Kemp, but that didn’t turn out well.needs to stay away from: Most everybody except maybe Flora, Dr. Cranley, and Kemp since at least the former two wanted to genuinely help him.misc. thoughts: He’s not better or worse than his book counterpart imho; he is his own thing, and I can respect that, and I kinda wish some other people could do the same. (coughcoughbookpuristscough)Also, after finding out about all the difficulties that Claude Rains went through behind the scenes just to film this (having to wear a stuff that made him barely able to hear anything, wearing a suit where they had to stick tubes up his nose just to breathe, working in a black velvet suit so that the special effects team could make the invisible effect work, fainting because of some of this) makes me appreciate his performance in this even more, especially as his first sound film. Also also, Jack’s bi as fuck. Oh yes, he undoubtedly treats and talks to Flora better than anyone else he encounters in the film, but there are some lines he has (mostly with Kemp) that seem very not-straight out-of-context (and arguably in-context even).
Dr. Jack Griffin (Monster AU version)
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | I’m kin with them to some degree (surprise) | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (again, I love myself, but not enough to bang me)hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (Torn again, even more so since we’ve tried making him more likable and have been giving him quite a bit of character development)best quality: He’s finally learning that keeping his problems and feelings to himself isn’t always a good idea and having him getting better about being more open with others is nice. Also, I love writing interactions for him, especially when it involves one of his partners.worst quality: He still has problems when it comes to interacting with others, but he’s at least learning, just like most everyone else in their monster group.ship them with: Arthur Kemp, Flora Cranley and Henry Jekyll are all his partners and he loves them all dearly.brotp them with: See above, as each one was very much a friends-to-lovers situation. He’s also starting to get along better with Rosemary, Henry’s fiancee. He’s also been slowly rebuilding his friendship with his brother Frank as well as building more trust with the rest of the people in the polycule Frank is in (those being Geoffrey Radcliffe, Kitty Carroll (his partners), and Helen Manson (his partners’ partner)).needs to stay away from: Rei (the first Phantom of the Opera in our AU), for a good while at least. They don’t exactly get along at first, and it takes a long time before they can interact without at least one of them figuratively jabbing at the other. I’d add Hyde, but most people know to stay away from him.misc. thoughts: I love him. I love writing for him. I love writing interactions that involve him. I don’t care if this deviates from the book version more than the ‘33 film did, I still love him.
And as a bonus, since I’ve headcanoned that his last name is Griffin
Claude Griffin (The Invisible Man from Mad Monster Party/Mad Mad Mad Monsters)
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | I’m kin with them to some degree | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (fuck you, Yetch, he’s not nearly as ugly as you)hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (I don’t think there’s any Griffin I’m aware of that could be considered to be a Hufflepuff.)best quality: He’s so Extra!worst quality: Mad Mad Mad Monsters reduced him to a henpecked husband that makes “marriage sucks” jokes and that is just awful.ship them with: Jekyll and Hyde. Probably the only Hyde ship I genuinely like, honestly.brotp them with: His son Ghoul and Boobula.needs to stay away from: Nagatha. I have no idea how they hooked up, but you can’t convince me that they wouldn’t both be much happier after getting a divorce and moving on with their lives.misc. thoughts: Mad Monster Party was a mixed bag but he was one consistently good thing about it and he really made it worth it to me.
I’m sorry this was so long, I have a lot of feelings about this character, and I love talking about him, so thank you so much for asking!

Akoya! xD
YASS! Thank you! I was in the mood to share!
How I feel about this characterAkoya is actually one of my favorite characters now. But back when season 1 aired I actually strongly disliked him. I felt that he was too manipulative and looking for drama.
Which in a way he was, seeing he did look for people to turn into monsters. Then I realized it wasn’t the character I disliked but how the fandom treated the character that bothered me. The same actually goes for Kinshirou.
For one of my fics I had to delve deeper into Akoya’s character, which I was glad to do, because after the season 1 finale I was totally in on team Ako-chan! Akoya is a pretty complex character, which might be a little hard to see if you don’t follow all the boueibu side material.
There’s some stuff about him the anime didn’t delve into, which is fine. Twelve episodes per season really isn’t enough for boueibu when you got 11 characters. I like that Akoya is actually aware of his darkside. That he knew the whole time that was they were doing as Caerula Adamas was wrong. But part of him did believe it was for the right cause.
And ugly people hurt him in the past. Now it was his turn to rid the world of ugly things. I like how manipulative Akoya can be. Even now that he’s ‘on the good side’ he uses his skills to help ioryuu talk after a fight. (DC manga)
I love that Akoya knows how to throw a punch. I totally headcanon that he had self defence lessons. I find Akoya’s snobbyness amusing now. And I love how the character subtly changed from how he was in season 1 and how he is now at the end of season 2. It’s also really fun that we still get to see more of that in the defense club manga and other side material.
All the people I ship romantically with this characterI really love akorima, so that’s really my only romantic ship for Ako-chan.
My non-romantic OTP for this characterPINK BROS! I love Akoya and Ryuu’s relationship. How their rivalry worked, but also how they’re sorta friends now too. It’s really amusing and cute! I love in that boueibu comic thing where it shows that Akoya really started to care about Ryuu. And it’s a shame that we haven’t seen them go shopping together yet.
Pinks can really bicker for fun still now too. Even if they never got over their rivalry I can see them having a “Yes, but only I can be mean to him” sorta thing.
It’s cute how they get along enough to play games now, and how close they will eventually be.
My unpopular opinion about this characterBrace yourself guys.
I honestly still sometimes feel like the fandom woobifies Akoya. That some people make him into this poor innocent cinnamon roll who is gonna break down once Kinshirou and Ibushi graduate. Who will be depressed and alone.
But really Akoya is stronger than that. WAY STRONGER than that really. He can handle it and be okay. He’s gonna be more than okay even, because the side material showed him getting closer to the rest too.
And besides, it’s not like he’s gonna lose Kin and Ibushi forever. He can always visit them. He’s rich, he can just tell his driver to take him there, and they’ll go out for tea.
I also feel like those people also sometimes forget Akoya’s darkside, and that Akoya isn’t as innocent as he looks.
And that the fact that he isn’t an innocent holy angel, is part of what makes him so great too!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.I do wish we got to see more of Akoya slowly befriending Ryuu and the rest of the defense club in the anime. I understand why, because 12 eps, 11 characters. But it would have been great to see in the anime, and just not in bits of the side material.
I do hope to see more pink bros moments in said side material too! And I poster of the pinks shopping, cause it’s a shame we haven’t gotten one.

patches + 0!
(Asks from this ( x ) meme)
0) All numbers in the list!
Oh boy... You just straight up decided to kill me with this one 👀 To be honest I often find myself to be scared to even think deeper into this particular character, like
Tumblr media
/srs though, he has the exact aura of 'character who becomes Tumblr sexyman' fdgfdgdfgdf
I will be speaking about his Bloodborne version specifically though. Patches the Spider. As it is the one most familiar to me and 95% of everything I post is Bloodborne related, so.
1) What would their social media page/activity be like
I already mentioned this somewhere, but we all know and agree he'd have shady account with 0 personal information that he'd send malicious links from. xd
Maybe he would also sell all the private information he could obtain from accounts he hacked this way. As a treat. However you'd need to be a very dumb/naive person to click on a link he sends because, again, we all know and agree that his method to talk you into clicking it would painfully obviously give him away.
2) What animal they remind me of
Okay I am NOT to count spider on this one, him being a spider in Bloodborne is lore-justified and other Nightmare Apostles are just the same (majority lacks human heads though). As for an animal that has to do with his identity specifically, I can't help but think of a raccoon. Nothing to do with his appearance, but raccoon is the most notorious 'cunning animal that steals shit and is an asshole but sorta adorable' so I just can't help but feel this is his vibe. (Or maybe I just think he belongs to a trash can, hehehe. /j )
3) My thoughts on their design/aesthetic alone
I reeeeeally love Bloodborne design for him. I overall love spiders, especially fluffy ones, so this design is just created to cater for my tastes specifically.
At first I was not sure whether to be happy or upset that Bloodborne version of him did not get his trademark sassy smirk that makes you want to punch his face before he even said anything, but tbh I've grown to like his more serious aesthetic in Bloodborne down to little details. He is just... very 'advanced' compared to his counterparts in other games despite saving his personality, he doesn't just survive but pursues Eldrich Truth so having this sort of 'I've seen some shit and continue seeing new one every minute with my eyes on the inside' look is just more endearing in a way. More inviting.
4) Physical headcanons (sleeping habits, favourite food, all that)
It is a no-brainer but for the starters, absolutely he is capable of making spider webs like this, however he doesn't need to catch any food. He just doesn't need nourishment anymore as his body is perfectly adapted for existing within Nightmare realm, according to Miyazaki he turned into a monster from much Insight, he is a cursed equivalent of a Kin! The only food he needs anymore is more Insight xD However, not needing food doesn't mean he can't eat. I think he will still gladly squash and eat blue slugs and other 'cosmic' phantasms, as some form of asserting dominance as cursed, demonic Kin before cosmic cutesy goodie-goodie creatures.
Patches could always see and hear through Rom's concealment just alright as well, he sees as much as an average Amygdala. And I concluded from how he is encountered at a random house after Amelia is killed + how he is a merchant in the dungeons that he can travel between Nightmare and 'reality' easily. It is not even limited to reflective surfaces like with Micolash; Patches simply moves between cracks of realms that he can see. Rom is supposed to have the ability too but she is a dummy thicc and only uses natural 'teleporting' of Spiders to move barely few meters forward :pensive:
He has grown a bit bad at perceiving more 'normal' things though - Hunter being able to creep up at Patches is not even the final form of it. At this rate Patches is just too used to seeing and hearing exclusively otherwordly things, so unless he deliberately focuses or expects you to do something harmful against him - it is extremely easy to catch him off guard. You can outright put a gun right to his head and if he doesn't expect you to harm him - he won't notice it with his side vision at all, nor he will hear it clicking. Just too stuck up with the voices of Great Ones to perceive things from just a normie human effectively.
5) Social headcanons (what do they think of their friends/allies if they have any, what are they looking for in relationship, what people tend to think about them…)
He doesn't get attached to people and it's been like this for a long time now, however when he was able to feel attached he would still never leave himself open. Like in any other realm, I believe Patches is not his real name but a pseudonym he permanently adopted. Giving someone your name means to give them your identity, and so far not a single new soul learned his real name! He would not want to give it even if he was to genuinely fall in love with someone, however if you are somehow to learn his name anyway, he'll make sure it 'doesn't mean anything'.
At this point in time, his ideal relationship is to simp for whoever is the current God that is useful for him xD He distanced from attraction to someone equal (?) very far. Patches always had ability to take just a glance at someone to get them all figured but it became only "worse" with his enlightenment so... what is the point to form very deep bonds with humans (and pthumerians) anymore? He is cynical about 99% of the people, his favouritism starts and ends at not giving genuinely kind and generous people to Amygdala. A bit hypocritical to be so picky considering he himself is full of vice but that's what we love/hate him for xd
Back when he still walked on his two he used to be very flirty, mostly with pretty women, but again never thought of seeking big trusting love. Most people are too morally depraved even if they hide it well, but truly good people he would not want to ruin with his bad touch! Most girls found him annoying at first but could not help it and crawled back if he'd stop with his teasing (if you are charismatic then you are charismatic lol).
He had attracted some people in his life that tried to get under his skin and break through his "tsundere" shell, to decide for him what he 'really' needed and analyse him, all of which he ditched by leaving them to die somewhere in the pit and all of which he'd still be angry at if he even remembered them anymore in his new life as a Spider. Not because they were entitled 'I can fix him' losers, or course... But because even the dumbest ones of them were right about him. However he is too stubborn, it is and has always been too much favour for anyone to have that sort of 'control' over him.
I do think his disdain for clerics used to be as present in Bloodborne verse as in any other, it is just that at this rate he learned so much about humanity and the world that there is no point to give them special honour. Nonetheless the specified distaste from his end had evolved into specifically looking down on stars-worshipping researchers like Choir, Ebrietas is pretty much the opposite of Amygdalas.
6) Psychological headcanons (tastes, fears, talents, regrets, how they deal with anger, just anything that comes to mind on the topic)
One of the things Patches kept despite 'advancing' is holding petty grudges, he could pout at as much as you making him feel guilty when he 101% deserves it! Remember that he doesn't sell to you or gives you a rune if you refuse to take his attempt to sacrifice you lightly. He knows he is not perfect, he knows as long as his identity still persists through Arcane enlightenment he is as bad as people he looks down on, yes. But if you make Patches feel bad about it, he will make sure it becomes your problem and your fault. xd If he learned to deal with secret guilt and wounded pride maturely that just would no longer be him... so, passive aggression ftw.
It is probably self-explanatory that he is prone to double standards and hypocrisy, just see him in just one game and it's transparent. When someone calls him out on it, depending on how attractive they are in his eyes he will either try to flirt his way out of the conversation or just throw salty 'no, u' spirited accusation and never be seen again. It is honestly just easier to let him be in control if you want to stick around for friendship/flirting/whatever, for anyone that ever tried to "change" him his stubbornness appeared to be so insanity-inducing that Frenzy is barely a status effect in comparison!
He early developed very unsettingly easy attitude to death and loss of dear people, even before Yharnam crashed and burned. He would still ensure fate worse than death if someone was to kill his friend, sure, but the loss itself he gets over with quite lightly. Perhaps it is just the ability to remember and appreciate the good memories if the person was worth it.
As a human he used to have quite a temper when things were not going his way. As a Spider though, he abandoned active aggression altogether, sense of being superior by how much he learned and who his friends are (Cthulhu moms) fixes up plenty of cracks in the ego, you feel?
His regrets almost exclusively have to do with not having spent enough time with some people while it still mattered - especially his mother whom he hasn't seen ever since he left in the Amygdalae cult. He wanted to check on her from time to time but every time he was stopped by realising just how huge is the rift between them now. When his friends would ask him if he talked to her like he wanted, naturally, he'd cheerfully lie about having had a great chat and catching up with the news and having no hard feelings.
His tastes in people, more often women, are either very shy easily flustered temperament ones, or extremely strong and big and confident unattainable menacing people that will wipe the floor with him, no in-between. He gets awkward and bails in emotionally hard moments though because to comfort someone he'd need to open his own heart, and that's a no-no! He will claim that "emotional swing has ruined the mood" and that he "did not know he'd pick a crybaby" however that's not what he genuinely thinks. In actuality he'd feel disgusted with himself but... Yeah he is the type to allow insecurities he refuses to address to turn into spikes that wound others.
Okay, I feel like at this rate he is becoming more sad than he is supposed to be so let's move onto next question already!
8) Made-up connections with other characters that weren’t in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever)
Upon doing this response I realised that it’d made more sense to place connections as 7 and ships as 8 instead because one can explain another, depending on the amount of context! But I was not prepared for getting both 7 and 8 in any way, hehe. So I’ll just break the row and go with 8 first!
Rom - Patches was probably the one assisting Rom’s initiation with Nightmare Apostles. They would get along pretty well still, however Patches would need to overcome initial uneasiness with her as she sees through every prank attempts from him by sheer intuition. However they were interacting even before. He is pleasantly surprised as Rom gets the courage to delve into more cursed knowledge, ‘forbidden by stars’, but feels respect he is even willing to admit when turns out she is doing this not only out of blind trust to her brother’s (Micolash’s) crazy ascension plan, but out of true curiosity, too. Until this point Patches has been falsely presuming she was just a friendly pushover blinded by admiration with Micolash, so he has a soft spot in his heart for her as one of very few people he failed to get all figured. Even softer spot when Rom proceeds evolving in GO form and grows 16 legs, as opposed to regular Nightmare Apostle’s 12, though at this rate not even other Great Ones can comprehend what she’s thinking.
Micolash - The sibling Patches sees more often than Rom, especially after Micolash occupies Yahar’gul for good and shows determination to peer deeper into lost knowledge of Pthumerians of Pthumeru Ihyll. Bloodborne is complicated, such is Patches’ situation with clerics in it; whereas Choir and School of Mensis are part of the Healing Church, they are isolated societies pursuing ascension and knowledge rather than greed and vain, insane ambitions. Patches can respect this, as bitter as he is for having to thank a Church boy for helping to restore communication with Amygdalas. They have strained relationship though. Patches is scared of Micolash as he is just as cunning and twisted as himself but with added layer of insanity. Resents him because he has much more authority and charisma over other Nightmare Apostles. But also he respects sincerity of his pursuit. And he loves gossiping and joking with Micolash very much whenever they find a person they both hate. They still chat sometimes in Nightmare of Mensis however Patches’ interest had lessened a lot when Micolash turned back to Kos. We’ve been there already! If your God is not answering to you, seek another one or work your own way up! Where did all that self-respect and confidence suddenly go?
Lonely Old Dear (Irma) - With my love for using cut concepts, of course I’d grab and use the cut idea of Patches being her child! The last person currently present that remembers his soft side and knows his secrets. She remembers him early developing a habit of concealing his tears and making a happier face before the mirror, not willing to show his vulnerability and troubles with his father, and she’s proud of him for that. Irma never insisted that he should share his pain and ease himself, presuming he will seek her advice when he needs it on his own. ...But, past some point, it stopped happening. At all. And then he distanced altogether for his weird Pthumerian-leaning cult. He did not see her as one mentally prepared for what he discovered and wished no harm on her, however just talking to her would have done much more for her mental health than leaving her in the dark on where did he go and what he’s doing, really.
Chester - I still like to draw connection between Dark Souls and Bloodborne (not as in ‘they’re same universe’ but as in ‘they’re different universes but from time to time they intersect, usually it is fault of Great Ones’) and you maybe noticed his aesthetic is different, his movements are agility-based like hunter’s and his dialogue might sound like and Amygdala snatched him and teleported him from Yharnam! Well, but they already had a strange friendship since Yharnam. They shared love for trolling people and sometimes would butt heads on their approach (Patches is sleazy and Chester is more direct!), or if they have accidentally selected the same person to ambush (that one comedy trope where while two idiots argue, the idiot they were against quietly sidewalks away xd). However, Chester defended Patches for many times as someone who has actual Hunter skills.
I see both of these characters as the type to hate anyone who is too similar to them, so it is their differences (that reach point of fighting sometimes) that keep either of them from backstabbing another. They also give each other advices on how to charm ladies better - and to the surprise of absolutely fucking no one, advices from one fail the other terribly. This friendship is full of conflicts, but ‘healthy’ ones that end as easily as they started. Patches did, in fact, had to witness Amygdala snatch him... But like I said, his ability to overcome grief is disturbingly good - besides deep down he was prepared for a hunter of all people to die young. It happened when Patches was already ears deep in his weird cult and he could accept. However he never learned that what Amygdala did try to do was splitting Chester across universes so every version of Patches would have a version of him by the side. Unfortunately it did not work as not even Amygdala yet comprehended specifics of Patches’ ‘anomaly’, so all that happened was just moving him elsewhere. I question if Patches would have been way more upset at the Paleblood Hunter for killing this specific Amygdala if he knew how much she cared for his practically friendless ass in her own weird way lol
Vicars - ‘Normie’ Healing Church that is after Blood Ministration, not Eyes on the inside, is naturally hated by Patches, however they’d rarely interact directly. He thinks Laurence was a fool but one with good heart, he misses him, especially after Ashton, his (extremely cringy and depraved) confidant that ruined the remains of institution’s decency. He and Micolash used to mock Ashton at every chance they’d get, verbally or practically. By the point Norbert drops by, Patches is too entranced by Nightmare and Eldrich Truth to even bother, however around Amelia’s time he’d started feeling nostalgic and checking on the waking world for more than just seeking new victims. There is something about the way Amelia fell into despair upon realising nature of institution she was roped into since young age, something about the way she quit wearing Church’s sigil, something about the way she never prepared a successor, something about the way she sees Laurence as the only one who ‘understood’, something about the way she killed clerics that kept brainwashing her that keeps Patches from hating her entirely... He is not even sure what. But he sometimes gives her useful advices, without being seen. She just accepts him as a strange unseen friend.
7) Ship(s) with them that I like or at least consider
Well, since I already went on tangent about what amazing, sensitive and emotionally mature partner he'd indeed make (/s /s /s), needless to mention that ships with him would be moreso playful and not go too deep - for the sake of both his partner and himself.
I like to think about him and Rom sometimes, this might have easily been a fleeting thing in the past. My Rom falls for comedic trope of the naive, oblivious, sweet character that constantly sees through plans and bullshit on pure accident so she'd upset him as impossible to prank person. However she is also all so relaxing and cute and giggles at the slightest compliment! She is convenient for Patches if anything - able to understand him well but not trying to "fix" him, taking his flaws easy but not being just a mindless pushover. She'd give him fun and relaxation he lacks, and he'd keep her permanently excited to not roll into laziness and despair. Besides they ended with the same ‘religion’.
And I guess I sorta did make a solid connection between him and Chester? I just like to think sometimes, of them being that sort of friends that endured many sorts of failures and bitter experiences in attempts to get relationships... that they realised they were all they needed all along. xd Feels more like a close friendship with added intimacy than something super big but it might be enough. However, since they are both concealing their real names (who names their kid Chester? /j /j /j just a headcanon), they’re equal here and if they ever decided to reveal their real names to anyone, that’d be each other!
Tumblr media
sksdgfds no, seriously, I do not have much shippy thoughts about him due to comic-relief-concealed Hell I envision his character as. I am however always here for any sort of just happy, chill kissy-cuddly moments with him and any character! I just do not have a ship I'd feel strongly about, let alone an 'OTP', but he can still get some affection sometimes ok!
9) Headcanons about their past
- He last seen his father when he was very little, however from Irma’s line when Paleblood Hunter kills her, I presume the guy was rather aggressive and abusive - whether on his own or from the Hunt getting to him. Or maybe he ended up perceiving what he was only yet to understand? Me and @val-of-the-north speculate his father had to be from Pthumerian line - explaining Patches’ bleach white skin in this setting, presence in the dungeons and increased interest to the Arcane. Nonetheless, although he can’t remember his father’s name, the face and the name, the scar remained; Patches was a gloomy and sad kid for only a bit, and then developed a habit of taking everything easy as he realised that “nobody liked a crybaby”.
- Had a rather nice settlement with other Amygdala fanatics in Yahar’gul until Healing Church had gotten there eventually as well. It was only a matter of time since they were occupying everything. It was quite a struggle as for “mysterious reasons” any and all attempts of the Church to settle properly kept being sabotaged. Clerics even started to claim the place had to be too cursed even for them xD That was, until Micolash took matters in his hands and offered the thing they could not refuse - an effective way to communicate with Amygdalas! Patches is forever bitter for having to thank who counts as Healing Church personnel nonetheless, but it quickly turned obvious Micolash was a “cleric” in name only and he was someone worth sticking around with.
- My current idea about anomaly with a version of him present across different timelines is that his Bloodborne incarnation is the progenitor. Some characters like Queen Yharnam and Rom are known to have at least two bodies - one in Nightmare, another in the waking world, guaranteeing their technical immortality. I think Patches was attempting to do the same - and a mirror is a crucial element in this ‘splitting’ ritual. Unfortunately, his ritual got interrupted with mirror scattering when he was still reflected by it! That guaranteed not a split between ether and physical, but instead him fracturing as a concept, but a timeline can’t have more than one of the same person to avoid paradox... So it solved its own problem and ‘dispersed’ him, guaranteeing Patches’ birth and roughly similar fate and personality across every nearby timeline! Thankfully, he at least still did accomplish immortality - when we ‘kill’ him, he is still present, just avoids us.
- I very badly wanted to say that he should have been one of Byrgenwerth scholars! But it has underwater rocks, such as how initially Byrgenwerth and Healing Church were inseparable. But... it used to be an institution of history and archaeology even prior that, right? So I think he did manage to get in there, being amongst very first students such as Caryll and Laurence! But as soon as they attempted to create a corrupt system that would eventually wreck this town? He just never showed up for the class ever again. Somehow he just knew, and he knew right, and in just few years ‘Healing Church’ started to feel like hostile aliens for him and not fellow scholars from Byrgenwerth that picked a different part. But now that Byrgenwerth is stuck between Nightmare and ‘reality’ and is immortalised (save for slime scholars and nosy Choir staff showing from time to time), he can delve in his nostalgia and just stay here for most of the time. This area just feels cosy, brings back good memories.
10) Content about them I’d like to see more of
Not to be that one guy, but... just any content of this particular incarnation of Patches would do. xD It feels like most people just see this version of him as a shitpost, however, Nightmare Apostles (the spider people) are a very real and solid lore hint as silly as they look!
Thank you so much for asking though!
