Summary: Dabin makes a bet with his friends without thinking about the consequences and gets into trouble.

A/N sorry, it's on the shorter side but please enjoy!
How it started;
"If you accept this bet, y/n might not speak to you ever again."
Dabin rolled his eyes.
"He knew you better than anyone, and he believed that you wouldn't break up with him over a bet. Especially since he would explain everything in detail once the bet was over and he had won, proving those guys wrong.
“Okay, you have three days to complete this whole game, so that means no sleeping and no texting your girlfriend,” Ian smirked as he explained the rules to Dabin. “We’ll come into your flat to make sure you’re fed and hydrated, so you don’t die.”
Your boyfriend had a smile on his face, feeling thrilled at the idea of proving his friends wrong and winning the bet. However, he got too caught up in the excitement and forgot to inform you beforehand that he would be gone for three days while the dare was taking place.
“Bring it on, guys!”
He didn’t think that the outcome, in the end, would be so… terrifying.
How it went;
“You know what’s weird?” you said as you grabbed a drink out of your fridge. “I haven’t heard from Dabin since last night.”
Hoody sat comfortably on the floor, intently flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine. Meanwhile, Sohee carefully painted her nails with a deep and rich shade of red.
“He’s probably just hanging out with the guys,” one of them answered.
The other simply hummed in agreement.
"Oh, that's a nice colour," you complimented Sohee before sitting next to her on the couch, being careful not to disturb her. "You're probably right, but, weirdly, he's taking so long to text me."
Hoody closed her magazine over, before grabbing her drink off the coffee table, “you know what you need?” She suggested after taking a sip. “A girls night with us! We can invite Lee Hi and DeVita too.”
You let out a sigh, the idea did sound like fun. It had been a while since you all hung out together and had a good time. Besides, maybe Dabin needed a break with his friends, just like you needed one with yours.
“Okay,” you agreed. “Let’s do it, but we’re staying in.”
Sohee laughed as she closed the nail polish bottle, “we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The evening was a relaxing and enjoyable one, filled with laughter, good company, and indulgences like wine, face masks, and friendly chatter about relationships. We rearranged the furniture to create a cosy space on the floor, where we could lounge on blankets and pillows and fully unwind.
The thought of your boyfriend not messaging you all day, even after you texted him to ask how he was, was unsettling. It was unlike him to go this long without responding, even when he was with his friends. It just didn't make sense to you.
Was he mad at you? Did you do something wrong?
A sigh escaped your lips as you finished your drink. Hoody was the only one who stayed after everyone went home. It had been a lovely night, full of laughter and endless fun, but now you were getting annoyed.
You sent another text.
An hour later, still no response.
It was almost 3 am and Hoody was sitting on the couch, scrolling through channels, hoping to find something interesting to watch on TV. As time passed, you seemed to become more and more irritated, letting out a sigh which Hoody took as a sign to turn off the TV and encourage you to go to bed.
While watching Hoody remove her makeup, you asked, "Do you think he's breaking up with me?" as you sat on the edge of the bathtub.
“That boy is completely in love with you,” she scolded, looking at you through the mirror. “Don’t be stupid.”
You laughed at the scowl on her face, “Sorry, it’s just unlike him, you know?”
She nodded. “If he doesn’t text or call you tomorrow, you can be as angry as you want, and I’ll be just as angry with you. Deal?”
“Deal!”

After Dabin failed to message or call the next day, you and Hoody sulked and complained about inconsiderate men. She was just as angry as you, she’d promised she would be the night before, you were so thankful for having a friend like her.
“How can you go two days without messaging the love of your life?” She shouted, throwing popcorn at the TV as the protagonists kissed in the rain. “I’m so pissed off right now.”
You laughed at her sudden outburst, “It’s okay, I've decided to give him the silent treatment until he apologises.”
Hoody seemed to like your idea, and let you know she was only a call away if you needed her before she left as she had work the next day.
Now, it was just you and your thoughts.
The day had passed by quickly, as it always did when you were hanging out with your friends. However, now you’d found yourself unsure of what to do. You couldn't even talk to Dabin, as he wasn't talking to you in the first place. Besides, you didn't want to speak to him until he apologised.
A sigh parted your lips as you stared at the multiple messages you’d sent the night before, how annoying, you thought.
You started typing out a message, fingers moving swiftly across the keyboard as you let your thoughts pour out, you wanted him to know how he made you feel and what you were going to do about it before muting his messages and tossing your phone to the side.
On the other hand:
Dabin was clueless about the impact of his actions on your feelings. He was engrossed in his video games and consuming the food that his buddies had brought for him. He convinced himself that he only had to endure one more day, and then he would see you and clarify how he had won the bet.
However, the happiness he had been feeling vanished as quickly as it had come when he saw your recent message. The message read, 'I'm not sure why you're not talking to me, but I know I haven't done anything wrong to deserve this. If this is your way of breaking up with me, then so be it. But at least say something instead of going cold.'
As he tried to call you, the call went straight through to voicemail, and his heart fell through his stomach. You thought he was breaking up with you, and he was now panicking. He couldn't bear the thought of never speaking to you again, and he realised that Ian was right.
This bet was not a good idea.
He moved quickly, leaving a mess behind as he shoved his shoes on and grabbed his keys to make his way over to your place. The bet wasn't worth winning if it meant losing you. This whole situation was stupid to begin with.
He arrived at your apartment just before midnight, panting heavily as he knocked on the door, praying for you to answer.
When you opened the door, you appeared annoyed. Your expression grew even more irritated when you saw him standing there. He watched as you crossed your arms and visibly became smaller under your glare.
“What do you want?” You argued.
He quickly entered the room and closed the door behind him, saying, "I'm here to apologise. It's not what you think."
You stepped back as he tried to reach out to you. "What is it then?" you asked.
“It was a stupid bet–”
"Excuse me, what?!" you interrupted, feeling angrier.
"It was Ian's idea. He provoked me by saying that I couldn't go three days without texting you or sleeping, and I wanted to prove him wrong," he rambled. "I know it was stupid, and I'm so sorry for putting you through this."
"I can't believe this! Did you really put me through all of this emotional turmoil just for a bet?" You unfolded your arms and settled your hands on your hips, staring at your partner in disbelief. You let out a deep sigh and collapsed onto the couch, feeling defeated. "I honestly thought you were going to break up with me."
Dabin knelt in front of you, taking your hands into his. He kissed the back of each hand and gazed deeply into your eyes. "I am so sorry for what I did," he spoke in a soft tone. "But I promise you, I'm not breaking up with you. Ever! I want to marry you one day. I'm so in love with you."
He could tell you were still upset with him, but the faint smile appearing on your lips told him that the two of you were going to be okay.
“You’ve got a lot of making up to do,” you told him to which he nodded in agreement. “Also, Ian is in a lot, and I mean, a lot of trouble.”
Dabin laughed at the mischievous grin on your face before jumping onto the couch next to you and pulling you into his arms, “god, I missed you.”
How it ended:
“So, you failed,” Ian smirked.
Dabin shrugged as you walked into the room where he and Ian were sitting, then smiled at you.
“Ian, you are in a lot of trouble,” you said, watching the smirk fall off his lips. “I’m not sure why you’re sitting there so smugly.”
Ian appeared visibly frightened as he contemplated the severity of his situation.
Let's just say your friends had a lot to say.

alina’s discography is perfect for setting the mood in the bedroom or to simply chill and relax to when it’s a ‘slow jams’ type of day. the lyrics to more than enough speak to both you and keeho, hence why he feels that this song is so fitting for the two of you. something about the lyrics are seductive yet reassuring in a way that keeho can’t quite explain it himself. (i bet he’d add this to your guys makeout playlist).

i feel like theo is such a sucker for ballads or just soft, indie tracks in general. it especially helps when jimmy brown is a perfect example of an artist who can do just that. theo probably stumbled upon this song due to spotify’s recommendations based on the music he listens to and decided to give it a shot. he immediately fell in love with the song— the melody, the lyrics, the instruments, everything about it reminded him of only one person that was always on his mind 24/7 365. you. to theo, you’re his irene.

i like you (a happier song) by post malone ft. doja cat
as a posty fan, there’s no way jiung could refuse himself from dedicating this song to you. the track has a slight pop influence and r&b style to it which makes it hard not to find it catchy. it’s a feel-good vibe that jiung enjoys when he listens to music. the lyrics tell of a possible love relationship between man and woman, and if jiung weren’t already dating you he would most definitely send you a link to this song over text with the intent of indirectly confessing his feelings for you. (i just know he’d try something like that).

sundress by a$ap rocky
a psychedelic rock and pop rap piece by asap rocky. this song screams “intak would love this.” it just seems like something he’d be in to. the track itself is sampled by tame impala but i think that with rocky’s contributed twist to impala’s earlier production in 2010 is what makes it appealing for intak to enjoy. there’s no specific lovey-dovey explanation as to why intak would choose this song if he were asked what reminds him of you. to him, his best interest is picking out things that he and you can vibe to together.

come through and chill by miguel ft. j cole and salaam remi
from what i’ve gathered, soul is another r&b admirer when it comes to his taste and preferences in music. come through and chill would undoubtedly pique soul’s interest; it’s unique and unlike most songs he’s used to listening to in his free time. soul would usually play this whenever he’s hanging out with you. there’s just something about the simplicity of soaking in each other’s presence while doing nothing without a care in the world.

inside by junny
if jongseob is a penomeco stan, then he’d absolutely get a kick out of junny. the two are relatively similar but different in terms of their style of music. while penomeco is very much khh, junny is on the softer side of r&b/soul which brings out the soft side in jongseob. inside is the perfect track for the two of you and jongseob would have it playing on loop for hours; never growing tired of a song that makes him think of you.

I want to talk about BoyNextDoor
This group debuted under KOZ Entertainment, Zico's label in HYBE, on May 30, 2023 and all six boys were already beasts.
Every song they've released has been S-class tier, in my opinion. Finger-licking good pop rock music with an oldies bend to it, god-tier choreography with that emphasis in performance quality that HYBE groups are known for, and frankly adorable, sweet personalities to boot. The boys have real chemistry and are legitimately talented. I'd say almost at the stage BTS were at debut. Though I could be biased.
Anyway, I think to understand what BND is, you first need to understand who Zico is.

There's no other rapper that best exemplifies the funky gutter musicality of khh than Zico. It's groove with an edge to it. Easy swag paired with barely contained energy. That's what drives Zico's flow and rhythm in his songs and dancing style. Zico is the artist all the male idols you know are bumping to in their dorms. He's not a saint, he's simply the best at what he does IMO. And it's clear all six members of BND adore him, look up to him, and are aiming to do their best to not let him down. And I find that sweet as hell.
BoyNextDoor is what happens when Zico does 'cute'. It's bright, gritty, fun, and funky at the same time.
Plus, their music and choreography is straight flames. I won't bore you with text. Listen and watch it for yourself. Find somewhere comfortable to sit and pay attention please.

That was all from their debut single album and all three songs are outstanding releases. BND is easily the best debut group or rookie in 2023 though Kiss of Life is a very close second. Their 1st comeback was on September 4, 2023 and again there isn't a single skip (although Crying comes close to being one lol).
I love the video and directing style in their MVs. The way they incorporate an actual physical door into their choreographies and MVs, is unique and interesting - BND is one reason I've been able to say that about a k-pop song this year. The boys' vocals are exceptional and perfect for the style of music they're pursuing too. And again, they can actually dance and perform.
The music is untouchable by the way.

What are your thoughts on idol "rappers"?
Some of them, like Bobby, are good rappers but others like Lisa from BP just sing fast and people have them on a pedestal
I think it depends on whether they write their own lyrics or not. If they do, I judge their rap as such, and if they don't, I don't pay attention really :D (they might still be talented at something, dance or some other type of entertainment etc, it's just not that interesting to me)
For those who do write their own music, it's hard to tell how good it is because they get 4-8 lines/bars max in a group song. Which is why I'm always interested in idol rapper solo music! Then, they usually participate in producing too which is cool. My faves are probably Bobby, B.I, Jooheon, I.M. Even though it's not purely hip-hop, they make really good music. I hope that after some time, we'll get to have 4th generation idol rapper solo albums too, I'm especially waiting for Han (Jisung) and Hongjoong. (feel free to inform me when it happens bc i wouldn't know :D)
I don't really know about Lisa or other idols who don't write their own music (I only know she doesn't write it so I haven't listened to it lol :D), but yeah even if it sounds good, the credit shouldn't go to the performer but at least partly to the writer. Sometimes I wish kpop producers got more love but then maybe they chose this life for a reason, they get rich by making music but nobody recognizes them on the street 😆
Just one more thing, sorry for the long text uggggh: In the past, idol rappers were criticized for being at an advantage due to being in a company that pushes for their success with money, but nowadays there are soo many small kpop companies that are on a similar level as khh labels, so if the idol in question isn't from hybe/sm/jyp I don't really see them at an advantage.
Who are your favorite idol rappers? Can you recommend any with solo music? (I barely know about ggs and anyone who debuted after like 2018 :D)

Hi! If I want to make a writing blog, do you suggest making it a side blog or a main blog? What’s the easiest to navigate?
From my personal experience, It's been easier to navigate a writing blog when it's on a main blog. My writing blog (this blog) is my main, and I use side blogs for my personal blog (where I post random things, mostly cats lol) and kpop+khh blog (gifs, vids, etc)
Since I'm mostly on main and would use my main blog to do everything, such as: post writing, share random blurbs, talk to followers, reply to posts, reblog text posts, connect to networks, etc, I feel like it's a wise decision on my part. But if you are thinking of separating entirely between your writing and other blog activities, you can use a side blog solely to share your writing/fics and use your main to do the others.

I want them to live their best lives too! They deserve it!!
Oh, what other groups are you interested in? 👀BTS is my ult group and I mostly casually listen to others. I think good group chemistry and good music is something I consider a lot when it comes to stanning groups. But I really like New Jeans’ music! I like the more chill R&B vibes they’ve got going on they have great chemistry too.
I got into BTS around that time too! It was early 2018. I knew nothing about kpop or South Korean culture and was like 👀 actually that’s kind of a lie. A relative of mine was watching War with Hormones at my house back in the day ( like 2014) and I had not interest at all! Funny how the tables have turned. I’ve missed some of their early moments and achievements but I felt so connected with them. Loved the themes they explored especially from the HYYH, you never walk alone, wings to the love yourself era. So so special to me.
I’ll be in my mid twenties in 2025!! I’m hoping that I’ll have my degree by then, have a decent paying job and be better at handling my responsibilities. It’s a small thing but I’d like to have genuine friends, maybe even a prospective partner too. I’m being optimistic. BTS and Kpop is definitely something I use(ed) to avoid adulting. So I really want to take charge of my life while remaining authentic to who I am! :)
But life can really change from now until then. I’m interested to see how far we go too!! Will we look back in time and pat ourselves on the back or will we have regrets…cringe? I’m sure it’ll be a mix of all three 💜💜💜
i'm probably gonna ramble for hours so i'll put my response under a read more :')
i honestly casually listen to almost anyone as long as i enjoy their music. i have a massive kpop/khh playlist i just throw on shuffle. but the groups i actually collect/follow religiously are bts, seventeen, and ateez. my best friend's ult group is stray kids, so i went and saw them with her back in june and pretty much know what they're up to at all times just from proximity, lol. i do like them though. i'll have to check out new jeans!
i was on tumblr back in the early-mid 2010s and kpop somehow entirely missed my radar. i probably saw a bigbang post or two. then my bestie texted me the bst video in 2017 and was like hey watch this. i didn't know kpop was like, a thing, you know? i thought it was just very casual so i listened very casually lmao. just listened when albums/mvs dropped and that was it. boy was i wrong. bst is still my number one song because of it.
kpop is honestly a great escape. i binged variety shows for all of 2021 after i lost family to covid and it helped so much. even now when i have a bad day at work i'll just pop on an episode of gose and cry-laugh for three hours.
as an Old person, staying true to who you are is honestly the best advice i can give. i've done so much shit i look back on and cringe, and a lot of stuff i look back on and wonder how i did that and got through it, and a lot of stuff i'm still paying for today (private student loans......) but it's all turned out okay! it's honestly a cliche, but these things truly happen when you least expect them.

A/N: I just wrote this to idk...use what I'm going through to inspire a story kinda. I hope you guys like it. Sorry its short.
Thump. Thump. Thump. “I don’t think this is working out…” Silence. She stared at him with a blank face, completely the opposite of all that was speeding through her mind. A slow, surprisingly smooth, exhale left her lips before she nodded as she broke their eye contact. Looking down at her feet, she nods again to herself before looking back up to him. “Okay.”
He stared at her, a look of concern swimming through his eyes. Because he knows. Even though she isn’t saying anything- he knows it all. “I’m sorry.” He breathed, fighting the urge to reach out and hold onto her. Let her know that he didn’t mean to hurt her, or leave her. It just wasn’t the greatest time for them to be together. “What’re you apologizing for?” She asked softly, making him shake his head. “I-I’m just...sorry. Maybe we could find each other again in the future?” He smiled softly, but she just shrugged her shoulders. Clearing her throat, she pushed a hand through her hair. “I’m gonna get going, if that was all.” She gives him a small smile before turning, and leaving.
As soon as she pushed into her empty apartment, letting the door shut, she crumbled. Tears started falling from her waterline as if a dam had broken. Her hand was clutching at her chest as she made her way to her bedroom, where she fell face first into her bed with loud cries. Her body shook with every wail, gasps leaving her in between her cries.
She stayed like that for weeks. Barely eating, and just staring at her wall. She’d relapsed- falling victim to her mind's demons, and the utter disinterest of her own wellbeing. It was a rough time, because she’d never gone through this. People never even peaked her interest enough to speak to for 5 minutes, let alone days or months, or years. But, him. No, he was everything she could have wanted and more. Yet, he obviously didn’t feel the same.
Months had gone by, nearly a full year, when they bumped into each other miraculously. The looks of utter shock on his face when he’d realized it was her. She looked different- hair half bleached and flowing down to her butt, her makeup was darker and intense, and her clothes were hugged to her body like it was suctioned onto her shapely figure. “Oh, wow- it’s, uh, great to see you again.” He smiled.
She was just as shocked to see him as he was to see her. He hadn’t changed much, beside the fact that he’d gotten buffer. “Oh, hey.” She smiled, eyeing him slowly. “What brings you out here?” She asked softly, looking at him before looking down at her phone. “Oh, nothing...just out with a frie-” “There you are! I was looking for you, babe.” A girl cuts him off, walking over and wrapping her arms around his arm. “I wanna go get ice cream.” She stared at this new arrival for a moment before things clicked, and she had to force herself not to cackle. Of course he moved on. He was the one to end things, of course he’d moved on. “Oh, hi. And you are?” The girl quirked her eyebrow, quickly switching to a passive aggressive manner. “Leaving.” She smiled at the two before swiftly turning on a heel, and strutting away. Her heart was aching again, mind in a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts that shouldn’t be plaguing at her mind.
Back in her own home, she stares at herself through the bathroom mirror. Her eyes are glazed over with unshed tears, hands gripping the sink as they go pale, and her face flushed as she holds her breath tightly. Breathing out slowly, she watches as she allows her tears to fall one after the other. She let it happen. She let herself cry it out, because she decided all those months ago that she would never let herself feel like that over a man again. Even if it’s the same one.
