Double posting tonight bc it's Friday Night™ baby! It's the fact that Ayabe's VA voices Tomi as well for me (and also Soma) that has made me appreciate Ayabe a lot more now 😭 I already liked his messy ass before tho

Anyway, here they are!

See, Ayabe knew you were shameless when you first got together. That’s kinda what attracted him to you in the first place; he loves a woman who speaks her mind and knows what she wants and how to get it, what can he say. He just never thought it would extend to the fucking workplace of all places, because what can be more un-sexy than his workplace, am I right? But of course not. Of course you’ll show up at the station with homemade bentos or some other shit excuse to get him riled up, because you can’t wait until he gets home and need to take matters into your own hands.

He tries to play it cool, honest, but there is no one less cool than him in the whole police station. In his defense, how can he possibly play it cool when you just whispered in his ear that you want him to handcuff you to the bed and use you tonight? No wonder he loses focus and can’t do shit at work the rest of the day. All he can think of is getting home, and it's all YOUR fault.

Something about you being shameless right in front of Kuroiwa makes him oddly proud though. It’s like rubbing it on his face that he’s got someone to come home to (and who wants to get fucked stupid by him too, but he’s not about to say that) and Kuroiwa doesn’t. There have been a few instances of you flirting with Kuroiwa in front of him to get a reaction—and don’t get Ayabe wrong, he knows you just want to be taught a lesson, but it’s kind of embarrassing that that in particular affects him that much nonetheless. Does he kind of regret being so rough afterwards when he sees the bruises he left on you? Well, yeah. Does he breathe easy when you tell him it's okay and that you like being manhandled like that? Also yes. And yes, he will do it again.

Pairing: Ayabe Kazuya/Reader

Summary: The Kamurocho Crime Chronicles or "How Ayabe Kazuya found out he wasn't as much of a lone wolf as he'd thought".

Ayabe was tired of everything; his work as a detective, putting up with Kuroiwa on the daily, leading a secret life as a dirty cop. All he wanted was to be left alone for once but his superior's just had to go and give him a new partner who was fresh out of the Police Academy and eager to tackle crime in Kamurocho.

Why couldn't his life ever be easy? And why couldn't he stop thinking about the way you smiled at him?

Get up. Go to work. Get home. Eat. Shower. Sleep.

Get up. Go to work. Get home. Forgo the shower. Heat up a bento. Sleep.

Get up. Do paperwork at work. Go to Tender. Drink. Go home. Pass out.

Get up. Go to work. Visit L'Amant. Gamble. Drink. Eat. Go home. Sleep.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Every day more or less the same.

When had his life become a stale routine?

Ayabe grunted loudly as he slumped onto his desk chair; the force of his movement pushing him further from the table but he couldn't be bothered to do something about it. Soon he found himself an arm's length from it, his feet stretched out in front of him and his hands running over the bags under his eyes. He couldn't remember the last time he'd looked into a mirror, the windows of his office the only source of his warbled reflection he trusted these days.

He was well-aware of the fact he looked like a complete mess - his co-workers were ever so kind to point it out to him - but just as with his chair rolling away from his desk, he couldn't be bothered to care. Just a few days prior, he’d been hit on at L’Amant and when he’d divulged his age to the woman, she’d laughed. In retrospect, with the way he felt and probably looked, he himself wouldn’t have believed he was only turning 35. Yet here he was, a relatively young man in an old man’s body.

A curt knock resounded on his door, momentarily interrupting his depressing musings. Before he had time to give his permission, it was opened.

"Five minutes. Chief’s office", Kuroiwa barked at him, those unsettlingly dark eyes sweeping over Ayabe's less-than-professional form before giving him a subtle sneer. Without another word he left, leaving the door wide open in his wake.

"For fuck's sake", Ayabe grumbled under his breath, hands fisting into the dishevelled mess of hair on his head, "I need a coffee for this shit."
