Intro to Felinia/Masterpost
Felinia, like many xenomoggies and original stories featuring cats, began as an original story set in the Warriors. However, over the years since the characters and their story were created, it has become its own monster, with two books planned.
Felinia aims to expand upon the ideas raised in the Warriors series, with inclusions of different cultures, queer and disabled characters, and a world created from a place of passion.
So, where to start?
A good place to begin are the species cards for the three Colonies of the Leagues that define the story.

Do you have any favorite Warriors fanworks or rewrites? :O I know there’s a lot more cropping up recently, so I’m curious!
My good friend @bonefall does easily the best rewrite content I've ever seen. His command of the sprawling source material, his eye for weaving interesting conflicts, his meticulous worldbuilding, his admirable levels of research, all of it comes together to make him top the gold standard of the fandom.
It's a testament to his skill how much he's pulled me in considering his work leans really heavily on elements that I usually do not like very much in WC content and in storytelling generally. The way in which he anthropomorphises the cats is waaaaaaay past the point I myself usually like. And his work is extremely theme-driven and centered in arguing a specific thesis which usually makes me want to scream at the author "GO WRITE AN ESSAY!!!!!"
Other than that, let me drop some recs of stuff
saccharine tithes of love and glory by mallowstep was a very formative influence when I was first getting into the fandom and I think you can very clearly see its influence in many of my AU concepts dealing with the rules surrounding meddies. I really like the ways in which is explores the solitude of the position and the ways in which the different characters nagivate it. I know it's a bit of an unpopular opinion in my circles these days, and it may just be the growing up Catholic religious trauma speaking, but I do really love the idea of the meddie position as a curse and I wish it was explored with the full gravity of what it entails.
you wear your heart on a ripped unraveled sleeve by space_pilot3000 is one of the most delicious pieces of character-centric writing this whole fandom has to offer. You really get to understand very deeply the bundle of issues that the whole of the Po3 apprentice generation of WindClan is. This series is what got me really turned me from being moslty apathetic towards Breezepelt into really cementing his place as one of my absolute favorite secondary characters.
(I would die for you in secret) by KatieK101 is a newer one that I only came to after having spent a good bit of time in fandom and also one that doesn't originate within my circle of friends and acquaintances. All fics in the series just exude character and really embody the characteristics I value most in my favorite fics, namely the snappiness and conciseness that still manage to say so much about the characters portrayed.
And finally Uncle Jayfeather Chronicles by Dragon_Writes is just the cutest goddamn fic series out there and it has forever made me mentally unwell about Hollytuft, Sorrelstripe, and Fernsong. I have barely made it past the half-way point of AVoS but I'm attached to them a lot. My emotional support nothing characters. I should write about them some day.

Could you please recommend some good Warriors fanfics or authors? :•)
To be honest I've really fallen far behind on reading fanfiction since I started throwing my back into running this blog, since Clan Culture research takes up a lot of my time
But I do follow Birdsong-warrior's Swifthawk's Chance, especially with how much effort they put into portraying Swifthawk's injuries and the attention to detail they put into family trees. Not to mention how excellent they are at capturing the utter dread of having such a toxic family member. It's something special, definitely check it out.
My buddy @katiek101's work is real good, particularly the History Has Its Eyes On You series. I tore through the whole thing on a long bus ride, they have a great way of showing how this volatile couple has a deep and comforting bond under it all, and I adore the way they describe yearning. It made me enjoy Romantic RussetfurxBlackstar when I usually get behind them as Gay Besties, which I think says a lot.
Aaaand I really enjoy Fire and Water, which is a retelling of TPB following Fireheart joining RiverClan instead of ThunderClan. I hesitate to call it an AU, because it keeps the events largely the same while just putting the POV in another Clan. Its worldbuilding is brilliant, it manages to make every Clan feel distinct in the short time we spend with each one, and never forgets the 'emotional core' at the center of character arcs. Its current sequel novella, Leopardstar's Lament, has been absolutely marvelous.
So there you go! Three recommendations. Right now I'm rereading TNP for my rewrite.

I totally just stole it because I’ve been a long-time fan of her work, and Five Truths is an amazing way to introduce a character and establish some intrigue of them before any of the actual works roll out — which is good for Ailurocide, and good for my schedule, and good for my wishy-washy writing style lol

Even though it’s old, I still go back and read Dawn Frost from time to time for the nostalgia, and all the rest of her work is amazing

I already shared it, but this post makes a some very concerning points about FFN and warns that the site won’t be around forever. I’ve already moved most of my works over to AO3, except for Dawn Frost.
The reason is because I’ve polished all of my fics before moving them over. Some of them have underwent major edits. I want to do the same with DF because it's one of my oldest fics and my writing has improved since I completed it, and I want that to be reflected. The problem I’ve run into is this:
I’ve had longtime readers ask me not to make any major edits because it’s so nalstogic for them. And I understand! But I feel like, if I’m going to go through all the work of moving the chapters over and making any sort of edits, I should just do a major overhaul. Much of the plot would remain the same, but I regret writing it in first person perspective so I would want to rewrite it in third person. I might add or delete a few scenes as well.
But ultimately I would like to know y’all’s opinion! I get that it wouldn’t be as nolstogic as a read, but please note that I would not update the chapters over on FFN. I won’t touch that copy. It will remain the same until FFN crashes. The new copy would only be for AO3.

your stormfur/hawkfrost art goes insanely hard it makes me think of early 2010s deviantart in the best way possible. and it's such a fun pairing too!!
the most beautiful thing anyone could possibly say about my art thankyou so much!!! i'm more of a traditional artist but whenever i draw digitally i like to scrawl on ms paint and i love channeling that era of warriors art because it is just so dear to me. 2006-2012 stuff ESPECIALLY i could spend hours digging through old deviantart fanart (and i have) so i'm glad it shows a little bit!
#as for the stormhawk appreciation i'm also glad you think so...#i never really cared too much about either party but i read this fic back in december and now they're 2 of my favorites...#it floored me when i first read it the characterization and the relationships are just soso good it's definitely one of my favorite things#i've ever read#if you're up for it i definitely recommend giving it a read#FLESH AND BONE BY KATIEK101 ON AO3!!!! you will not regret this

flesh and bone by KatieK101. the author has a tumblr but i forgot. credits to also tumblr for telling me what this was. anyways. i am a simple man: i see storm/hawk, i click, i read.
PMD: Warped Skies by Team Ion (who definitely has a tumblr but i seriously cannot be assed to do more than link the fics here). still probably the best pmd fic ever. like, look at it. it's beautiful.
The Northern King by Konotica. WINTER!!!!! WINTER!!!! i already love it. it's this war simulator thing where winter leads the ice kingdom and fights people. and remember: winter frederick the great is a posibility!
A Spark From StarClan by Salmonfang. basically, a WI: firestar medcat? it's well-written, fire has severe angst from [SPOILERS] and probably PTSD from [SPOILERS]. also, a mute cat! he does get shifted into being a medcat, which is disappointing, but... story is still good.
