25. not really fkdkd well it depends, if its like a fantasy or series or something i will, but if im in the mood for a random romance i just go based on the description. i trust friend reviews over anything though.
26. yes 🙈 LISTEN, the cover picked tells me a lot about the vibes of the person who wrote the book which tells me a lot about whether it’ll connect with me. i do do it less now than before but a good cover will get me interested

There’s definitely the pattern of me wanting to start right into the story without much prelude. I’m not really very wordy.
My favourite is probably the line from invisible string or The 1 for very different reasons. Invisible string because it pulls you right into the story, The 1 because I think still think I was just hilarious when I wrote that.

That she was even entertaining Thomas Dorset…was she harboring a tendre for the man? Anthony’s heady interludes with her had only really passed in the country, he had not had much opportunity to observe Kate in town with any interest beyond contriving to needle her, to best her. Perhaps, upon their return to town, her affections had found their proper place again - with Dorset. Anthony choked on his tea.

Inspired by @kathanisharma’s fic prompt on Twitter: “kate starts to be courted by another man (perhaps dorset) after the end of episode 5. especially with her declaring the feelings between her and anthony would fade over time, anthony does not take it well.”

i might be brain-empty because i can’t really draw a line between all/most of these, but i am a little surprised that only four of these are dialogue because i think i’m too dependent on dialogue sometimes.
i think #6 is my favorite, but it also might be because “a (veritable) font” is my favorite/the most personal of my own work, and i like writing from a much older colin (and penelope) perspective. but i’m also partial to #9 for kate with charlotte and #13 for “colin: hi 🤪”
also this was nice to open up some of my earlier works because here i was thinking my niche was like family content or smth and then i was smacked in the face with the fact that one time i tried to do smut 🥸 pls!
