anything to do with tami learning about mickey or the gallaghers past, like i'd love to see her reaction to some of their random shenanigans n stuff (or go the angst route and have her learn some sadder stuff whichever) love ur writing so much <3

"wait," tami takes a swallow of her beer and raises the bottle towards mickey, "i don't think you ever told me why you were in prison?"

"which time?" ian chimes in, giving tami a shove with his elbow.

tami's eyes widen, her jaw going slack, "there's been more than once?"

"yeah," mickey's tone is nonchalant. he steals the joint out of his husband grip, letting it settle between his pointer and middle fingers.

"well, spill!" tami exclaims. she sets her beer bottle on the wooden coffee table next to ian and mickey's couch, and readjusts herself so she's leaning against the armrest.

mickey sighs, rubbing the crease between this eyebrows. "the guy ian was fuckin' shot me for stealin' a can of pringles—"

"you stole a lot more than a can of pringles," ian retorts, but mickey simply flips him off as he blows out a puff of smoke.

"so, you two haven't always been together?" tami asks, ian shaking his head and whispering, god, no beneath his breath.

mickey hands ian back the joint before continuing, "anyway, did a few months, it was whatever. punched a cop after, got me a bit longer."

"he was gonna kill frank," ian chimes in.

"why didn't you?!" tami inquires a little too enthusiastically considering frank's recent passing, and they both stare at her blankly. she holds up her hands in surrender, waiting for mickey to continue.

"actually tried to killed ian's half sister. see, i was just going to roofie that bitch for snitching on ian to the MPs, but she passed the fuck out."

tami reaches across ian to smack mickey's shoulder, "isn't that, like, 15 years?"

"up to 30," mickey adds casually, "compassionate release."

"mickey milkovich and 'compassionate release' aren't two words i ever expected to hear together," tami laughs, and mickey simply rolls his eyes.

"that's actually four words—"

"jesus christ, ian," mickey lightly smacks the top of his head and takes the joint without consent once more.

tami follows suit, giving ian's right side a hit to even out the pain, "alright, phrases," she corrects herself.

it's silent for a moment before tami opens her mouth again, "you know i like you, right? i don't think you're an awful person or anything..." she trails off, looking away from mickey and returning her gaze to her fingers picking at one another in her lap.

"you just like bustin' his balls?" ian grins, and tami raises her hand for a high five which ian graciously accepts.

ooh, what's your favourite fic you've written, or a bit you like from each of them? i love hearing people talk about their writing! i haven't gotten around to reading TD yet because i'm a piece of shit, but i'm hoping to this weekend! i'm not doing anything tomorrow, so 🤗

karyssa if you ever call yourself a piece of shit again, i will get on a plane, fly to wherever you are in the world, and literally kick your ass (affectionately) 😇

i really love TD and what it’s become, and i think that no matter how many fics i write, it’ll always have a really significant, special place in my heart 🥺 i also really love my flannel fic (pulling on your threads) because i’ve never experienced a rush like when i realized the flannel in 10x10 was the same one from 7x10/11 😅

but if we’re being totally honest, even though it’s not coming for another month, my next big multi-chapter fic has the potential to be one of the best things i’ve ever written. like obviously i don’t wanna jinx it, or over-hype it, or just straight up set myself up for failure, i just have a lot planned out and i think it’s gonna be really, really good 😭 it’s angsty but funny and yes, you guessed it, a slowwwww burn (enemies to FWB to lovers lmao) but goddammit i’m really REALLY excited about it 🥺

(when you do read TD, whenever that is, please drop some thoughts in my ask box 🥰 i LOVE hearing people’s first impressions!)

Wedding Photography for ‘Exposure’ is NOT a ‘Win-Win’

An old wedding advice article has resurfaced, gone viral, and riled up a lot of photographers and non-photographers alike.

Back in 2013, the celebration-centric publication Holidappy published an article for budget-conscious engaged couples titled “How to Have a Free Wedding.” Among the 8 tips offered is one (Tip #5) with the heading “Have A Free Photographer.”

“A professional photographer can easily cost you around $800 – $3,000,” the author writes. “Now that is a waste of good money.

“As photographers run their own business, you may want to approach them and strike a bargain: cover your wedding and they can use it as a platform to advertise their business. That is a win-win situation there.”

And in case you can’t find a wedding photographer willing to cover one of the biggest days of your life for nothing but “exposure,” the Holidappy recommends that you find a friend or family member to take advantage of.

“Exploit these talents lah!” the article states. “You will be more comfortable and confident striking pose upon pose when you know the person behind the camera. No fees at all.”

The article is making the rounds on the Web again and rubbing many people the wrong way. Its comment section is being flooded with fresh outrage over Tip #5, which was also shared (and slammed) in the popular subreddit /r/ChoosingBeggars, where it has been one of the biggest posts of the year.

Compared to other occupations, photographers seem to have a higher rate of being asked to trade their talents and time for exposure — the conversation would be rather comical if a plumber were approached with the same request. Even (presumably wealthy) celebrities are trying to get free wedding photography these days.

But as the response to Holidappy’s article shows, photographers across the industry are speaking out in an effort to change the culture and public perception.

Who wrote that? Firstly, no, DO NOT get a family member that is not a professional taking your photos, you will regret it for the rest of your lives. Secondly, there's a reason you pay the amount you pay, and it's the same reason you don't let your cousin do it.

“To any couples with a wedding on the horizon I can’t urge you enough to hire a professional photographer… this over the caterer, over the venue, over the dress, the rings, just do it,” Redditor prpslydistracted writes. “Why? Because I painted a bridal portrait for the parents a year after the wedding when a friend volunteered to take their photos free! They’ll be wonderful! They were horrid. The bride was in tears after seeing them.

“A good photographer is worth every penny. Hats off to them.”

prompt: tami & mickey argue about something dumb while shopping at the store together and a passerby mistakes them as a couple — do they play along or start roasting each other or both?

"Which do you think Fred with like?" Tami holds up two onesies in front of her. She moves her hips side to side as if she's posing, but the pyjamas only reach her mid-stomach. One of the onesies is grey with a repeating design of navy blue rock ships and the other is navy blue with a bright blue and orange smiling dinosaur that says, "I'm roarly cute."

Mickey furrows his eyebrows as if he's thinking. He points towards the rocket ship design. "Really?"

"The little fucker can't read yet, why does he need words on his clothes?" Mickey retorts, which Tami simply rolls her eyes at.

"But he loves dinosaurs!" Tami whines, setting her arms by her side and pouting like a child who's just been told it's time to go to bed.

"He choked on one of those little shits before!"

"No," Tami emphasises by dragging out the letter O, "he put it in his mouth and sucked on it, I got it out before he had the chance to choke."

"What's the fucking difference?!"

Tami whips around at a double tap on her shoulder. She sees an elderly woman wearing a pair of bifocals and a floral blouse with hot pink yoga pants. The woman is wearing a pair of light blue flip flops by the brand Sketchers. "Can I help you?" Tami asks, her voice harsh with annoyance towards Mickey.

"I was married once, you know," Mickey's eyes go wide and he raises a brow at Tami, "I know the struggle of shopping for baby clothes."

Tami turns away from the woman, facing Mickey once more. A sly smile spreads across her lips as she stalks over towards Mickey, now standing at his side. She grabs his hand and intertwines their fingers. Surprisingly, this isn't the first time Tami and Mickey have been mistaken for a couple, so they wordlessly decide to go along with this poor old lady's deceiving thoughts.

"It's his second birthday, I just want it to be perfect for our little baby boy," Tami flutters her eyelashes.

Mickey scoffs, "And I'm just trying to be realistic."

The woman walks up to Mickey and sets a soft hand on his shoulder, "The man in a relationship is never right," she says in what is supposed to be a reassuring tone.

Knowing Mickey's fight or flight mode has been triggered, Tami puts her free hand on Mickey's elbow to hold him back and, when he takes a step forward, Tami hip bumps him to keep him in line.

"You're right, my husband isn't the smartest."

"All men are dumb," the lady says. She takes her hand off of Mickey's shoulder and he immediately relaxes. In the blink of an eye, she's gone.

Tami loosens her grip on Mickey, throwing the rocket ship onesie on the rack next to them. "This one it is!" She smiles, Mickey giving her friendly slap on the face in reply.

this got off the of the rails... fast; i hope you like it anyway LMAO, i am so sorry for my offhandedness and the length (or lack thereof) of this fill, but it's been a while since i've written and i wanted to keep this short and sweet :D

"no, no, no," mickey scolds, shaking his head while watching the smoke fills the space between him and tami, "ian is fuckin' crazy."

tami waves her hand through the air. she takes the joint from mickey's hand with a furrow of her eyebrows. "isn't he, like... bipolar or whatever?" before tami has the chance to remove the joint from her lips, mickey plucks it from her fingertips.

"yeah, but," mickey burps, readjusting the joint and letting it settle in between his pointer and middle fingers, "he's still batshit even when he ain't manic."

"give me an example," tami asks, eyeing mickey as he takes a long inhale.

mickey twists on his side, his arm settling on the top of he and ian's new couch. he tilts his head back, letting the smoke filter up towards the ceiling. after a moment, he returns his attention towards tami. "just the other week, he sent me a text tellin' me we hang out too much; he's just so jealous all of the goddamn time."

"oh, and you're not?" this time, tami is the one stealing the joint from mickey. "you practically shit yourself when you saw ian with," tami swallows, trying to think of his name, " that simone biles motherfucker at the bar," she eventually settles on.

"his name was cole—"

"see!" tami exclaims, throwing her hand not holding the joint in the air, "you wouldn't remember his name if you weren't jealous, his picture is next to the word 'fruit' in the dictionary, every white gay dude looks like him."

mickey chhs, "you texted me from the bathroom of a chilli's in wisconsin because you thought your server was hot."

"she was," tami defends, her voice high-pitched, "and i needed time to recuperate away from lip."

"yeah, your boyfriend lip, and how exactly did you do that?" mickey questions suggestively, his eyebrows waggling up and down.

tami punches him, hard, her fist definitely leaving a bruise that will be visible for the days to come, "i only thought about it!"

mickey chuckles, "because that's any better!" tami holds up a middle finger and directs it towards mickey, a gesture which he gladly reciprocates.
