“ okay. time for a break, yeah? let’s stop for now, catch a breath, we can come back to it later. ” / logs in just to give a kamui and ibara interaction,
There was no denying that Ibara's quirk was powerful. The entrance exam robots were torn to bits or brought to their knees, the Sports Festival obstacle course had been upturned and overgrown, and training cities crawled with Via Dolorosa, making the schemes of play-villains nearly obsolete.
But in the city, where the Lurkers ran their agency, you couldn't just throw vines at a problem until it was fixed. Mt. Lady was always the source of commotion with her collateral, and after the third scolding from the chief of police about vines tearing up asphalt in the line of duty, it was time to try something new.
Really, he was thankful Kamui Woods was there to guide. It's not that his advice wasn't welcome-- and Ibara had a lot of respect for the hero.
But precision was frustrating. The batting machine stares her down from the other end of the training area in what Ibara would call contempt, if it weren't an object and therefore incapable of feeling contempt. It was a contemptuous machine, is what it was. It was the second one of the day, too, given that the first had met its unfortunate demise on the business end of a mass of vines thrown out after severely misunderstood the assignment. Which was to knock the balls out of the air as they were thrown, avoiding being hit in the process. Not throwing up a shield, not destroying the machine-- single, strong swipes.
(It brought forth the memory of that detestable baseball game they had all been roped into. Even now, she's not sure she knows how to play.)
Tumblr media
She lets out a sigh and wipes away a trickle of blood from where a ball had careened into her forehead and added a new puncture wound-- more annoying than painful, but one of many mounting frustrations, and it must have become apparent to his mentor.
"My deepest apologizes, Kamui Woods, but I am not very good at this."

— "𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐞" (𝐛. 𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦!𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)
Tumblr media
𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭; bakugou and you had been dating for so long, but always had to hide it. he hates hiding you, he hates seeing you sad, and you don’t know how much more you can take.
𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞; a little bit of angst at first, but then fluff.
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬; bc… him.
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭; 2.0k

it had been a long day at your agency, longer than usual at least. a lot of little incidents in your patrol areas, meetings, reports waiting for you to give them a final look. you checked the watch on your desk, almost midnight. by then, only the guards must have been in the building. a long, heavy sigh left your lips. you still had work to do, but the urge to go home was bigger, so after taking your things, you drove home, eager to see your boyfriend. bakugou mananged to get himself the title of number one hero four years after graduation, surpassing even all might himself. seeing him achieve his dreams filled your heart with love and pride, though it still hurt not being able to share those feelings with the world.
on your second year at u.a., katsuki asked you on a date after months of notorious flirting, no one was really surprised, in fact, among your class, everyone was happy because of your influence in the boy. your honey moon period was interrupted a few months later, on what was class a’s last sports festival. as third years already, all the attention was laid on you and your classmates. hundreds of pro heroes expecting to catch the most promising graduates, and your last chance to show you worthy. on every phase, you and bakugou would share knowing glances, secret winks at each other, little reassuring smiles from you and calming head nods from him. with all those cameras making you the center of attention, it wasn’t too hard for people to figure out what was going on between both of you. you ended sixth, only surpassed by uraraka, kirishima, todoroki, midoriya and bakugou, and were really happy with your performance. that same night, after a celebration with all your friends at the dorm, you went into your boyfriend’s room.
he was laying in bed, reading a book, but still reached out to pull you into bed. “mind if i use your computer?” you asked, him humming in agreement, too focused to pay you more attention. first you checked your personal account, when nothing entertainment surge there, you opened your official hero account. as you expected, the festival just endign a few hours ago, the tags were exploding. your face completely change when you started to read.
“so, are we just ignoring the fact that Y/N of all people was making eyes at bakugou the ENTIRE TIME?? keep it in your pants geez”.
“i’m sorry but if you think that bakuy/n thing wasn’t a stunt, you’re wrong”.
“guys. it’s as simple as looking at y/n, and then looking at ✨bakugou✨”.
“yeah it’s a no for me, like ok they’re friends but don’t make it fucking disgusting”.
and you could keep going. most of them were about how someone as great as katsuki could never lay his eyes on you, fewer were about how he was too aggressive and violent for you, and some were just people hating on both of you. tears gather in your eyes, was this what everyone thought? you knew from the beginning the difference between bakugou katsuki and you, who was lucky to even had made it that far, but you didn’t realise just how big the difference was. katsuki immediately felt something was off, so he left his book aside and grabbed your hand.
“i…” was all you managed to say before bursting in tears. bakugou hugged you as fast as he could, whispering softly calming words and leaving small kisses in your head. slowly, he took away the computer to see what made you so upset. blood starting to boil in his veins, his whole self shaking in pure rage. he got up, leaving you in the bed, still a little teary.
“i’m going to kick those losers to the moon, who the fuck are they to say those things? fucking bastards, i’ll shove their words so up thei–” he was walking back and forward in the small space of his room, stopped only when he saw you crying even harder.
“am i really th–that unworthy of you?” the voice crack made his heart break “i know i’m not perfect but i really thought that… that…” bakugou kneeled before you, looking at you dead in the eye. his hands gently reached your wet cheeks.
“don’t say dumb shit, dumbass. you are the most perfect person on this fucking planet, no one, not even youself, can say shit about that, ya’ hear me?” he did his best to calm himself down, knowing that you needed his comfort more than ever.
he took away the laptop before going into bed with you, holding you tightly in his arms. you were still crying, completely unable to get those words out of your mind. you loved katsuki, that you were sure, and he made clear several times that he loved you too, why didn’t people understand that? why it wasn’t enough?.
the next day, aizawa told both of you that in order to keep your mental health, at least until you graduate, to not make it official. he explained how sometimes, pro heroes had to keep their private life in check just to make things a little easier, as unfair as it sounds. so you waited, you graduate and held the impulse of kissing your boyfriend, hugging him, even look at him. it’s okay, only a few more days. katsuki sign a contract for two years with best jeanist, the number three hero at the time. you, on the other hand, had been offered to work with the lurkers, a team conformed by edgeshot, their leader, kamui woods and mt. lady, signing a similar contract to your boyfriend’s. you were overflowed with happiness, your dream had come true, finally you could call yourself a pro hero. you weren’t an intern, you were their equal.
“look, you are a great hero, but you are just starting” edgeshot had call you into his office, the manager of public interactions was next to him, talking to you “i did my research, and i’m going to have to ask you to keep this relationship of yours with ground zero a secret. you have so much potential, you need to leave a good impression or your hardwork would be for nothing.” you looked at your boss, seeing the uncomfortable look on his face. no one liked to ask those things, but sometimes there were sacrifices to be made.
“i have to talk with him first” was all you could say.
it killed you. not being able to love katsuki, to live a secret. most of the time all you wanted to do was scream in the middle of the street, where everyone could hear you. you loved bakugou katsuki, and he loved you, you wanted to spend you whole life with him, without hiding, without lies, without wondering if you were good enough for him. but it couldn’t be. now, four years later, both of you with your own agencies and a steady career, it still couldn’t be. again and again, no matter how many advisors you hired, everyone reached the same conclusion.
katsuki was waiting for you in the couch, watching a movie. instantly, you crawled to his arms, searching for reassurance. at least he was still the same.
“oi, are you okay?” even if his voice came out harshly, you knew he worried.
“i’m tired” you hid your face in his neck, intertwining your legs with his. you didn’t want to cry, but it was impossible to keep all the tears from falling.
“look at me” he said, lifting your face from your chin “what is it?” his eyes creeped inside yours, you hated making him worry, he lived the exact same things you did, but there you were the only one crying.
“i’m tired of this, bakugou” to hear his last name coming from you froze him in his place, what? tired of what? of him? you wanted to break up? “i can’t do it anymore” the way you grabbed his hand gave him confusing signs. “i want to go out with you, to hold your hand in public, i wanna kiss you and hug you whenever i want to, fuck, i want a normal relationship”
oh. it was that. bakugou sighed, a bit relieved. he understood, it was hard on him too, but at the same time, was all both of you knew. your relationship never had a normal phase, he couldn’t even remember the last date you had. how could he miss something he never had? of course, you were different. for some reason, the media had always been harsher on you. if it wasn’t your love life, it was your hero costume, or the way you did your job, how you didn’t have children, that forever tired face you got, they’d always find a new thing to complain. but you had your own fanbase, a lot of people who supported you, not for nothing you were the number four hero. being honest, katsuki didn’t know what to say. he hated seeing you like that, after all those years.
“let’s go out” he talked while getting up from the couch, lifting you with him “put on something comfy, hurry” when he saw you staring blankly at him, he took you from your legs as a bag of potatos “dammit, woman”.
once you got out of your surprise, you did as you were told after your boyfriend left you on the bed. his eyes glowed with a different shine, one that had disappeared a long time ago.
you got in his car, him driving. katsuki seemed happy, and that eased your anxiety. after a while, he parked in the middle of town. despite of the hour, there was a lot of people there, just as he expected.
“we can’t do this” you said, still a bit doubtful.
“of course we can, i’m going out with my girlfriend, i’m going to hold her hand, and i’m going to kiss her whenever the fuck i want, because she’s the baddest bitch out there and doesn’t deserves to be hidden from anyone”.
he said that. your heart raced, your cheeks heated up, what was going on? your belly had a thousand butterflies trying to escape. he said that. for the first time in five years, you kissed him without double thinking. a kiss filled with loved, confidence, feelings you couldn’t even describe.
he got out of the car first and opened your door, reaching out a hand. you were together in this, whatever happened wouldn’t be as bad, because you had him. there wasn’t anything else you needed but bakugou katsuki.
he explained what he planned while driving, you were going to go to every store you wanted, holding hands, sharing kisses. you were going to take pictures and share them with the world. you wanted an ice cream? then both of you would walk the entire tokyo to get you one, not minding the looks, the whispering. this was you and him.
and you did, you spent the most awesome night together, phones exploding with calls of both of you agencies. it didn’t matter.
you ended in a viewpoint, sitting in the back of your car watching the sun rise. a blanket provided the warm lacking from you bodies, even though you were cuddling. every time bakugou was at peace with you, unconsciously started to sing under his breath, in a really low voice. feeling his chest under your skin, his fingers tangled in your head, hearing his deep melodic voice. that’s how you wanted to spend your life.
“marry me” he said, his heart didn’t even race its pace. he was so calm, because he knew that your love was mutual. “c'mon, dumbass, marry me”.
“i love you” was all that left your mouth. he took it as a yes, and he was right. a soft smile curved in his lips, you were his, and he was entirely yours.

what did think of death arm and your reaction to him quitting his job
A FAREWELL TO DEATH ARMS!!!
(No, I don’t immediately see any thematic or literary correlation between Horikoshi and Hemingway aside from the rain, but the wordplay amuses me.)
Real answer: I think Death Arms is supposed to represent an average pro hero who sees “hero” as his job rather than a calling. He’s not one of the top ranking celebrity-heroes, and he’s not a hot new up-and-comer. He’s an average working hero. Death Arms is introduced on the third page of Chapter 1, helping move civilians to safety including a gawking, rubbernecking Midoriya. Death Arms is basically a crossing guard in a crop top, illustrating the level of hero saturation in BNHA society. (In the war arc, he’s the one who arrests Slidin Go, which is probably the least dangerous place a pro could have been that day, although we later learn he led the charge to arrest all spy heroes.)
When shit actually goes down in Chapter 1 and Bakugo is attacked, Death Arms is impotent. “If only I had the power to blow [the villain] away!” he yells with a wide-eyed snarl, as if his…arms…can’t do anything to help. When Midoriya dashes towards the villain, Death Arms is playing crossing guard again, holding the crowd back. His reaction to Midoriya is the polar opposite of All Might — he’s not inspired, he’s not calling himself pathetic for being a bystander. He calls Midoriya a fool, asks if he has a death wish, and says he’ll die for “nothing.” (I don’t think he means Bakugo’s life is worthless; rather that Midoriya can’t make a save where the “pros” failed.) After All Might steps in, Death Arms is the hero that berates and lectures Midoriya for his reckless actions.
During the Sports Festival, Death Arms is forced to work security for the event so he’s watching on big screens at the stadium. He’s the first reaction shot we see after Midoriya wins the obstacle course (placed above Inko!). He’s stunned, remembering the kid from a year ago. A few chapters later, he smokes in the break room and talks with Mt Lady about the harsh reality of pro hero work. No, not the All Might “put your life on the line” reality, but the “how do I get paid enough to eat” reality. He calls the Festival a simulation of the “dog-eat-dog society of heroes” the students will soon be a part of, and says if your agency can’t cut it, then you can’t put food on the table. “Sometimes we gotta drag others down to get a piece of the action.”
This is the rot of hero society. It’s “heroes” unwilling to lend a helping hand because they’re not paid enough, and who won’t team up because it’s against their financial interest (is that part of the reason for all the navel-gazing during the slime villain attack? That the heroes would have had to work together and then split the payment?) Mt Lady and Kamui Woods argue the counterpoint, that sometimes team ups are necessary so students need to have those skills; but they are ranked and far more popular — and presumably much wealthier — than Death Arms.
But also, Death Arms shows us most heroes are not wealthy and well-resourced like the main cast we know and love. If heroes can’t help each other put food on the table, how can they help people like Tenko, Toya, Keigo, and Himiko??? Given his history of not overextending himself and his references to financial struggles, I’m not surprised that Death Arms quit the hero gig. He was in it for the adulation and public support; once that dried up he didn’t have a reason to keep going because hero work wasn’t his passion or his inspiration, and the money wasn’t good enough to balance out the stress. It’s also an interesting counter to how All Might tried so hard to inspire and light the way for other heroes; that is, career inspiration and “following your dreams” are luxuries when you’re worried about where your next meal comes from.

(I tried putting together some images but I think they’re getting eaten and showing up in low quality on Tumblr?? Sigh. I tried!!!)

BNHA: This Time Around
[A Semi-CloudNight Oneshot]
“Aaahhh! It feels so good to unwind like this,” Fukukado Emi, best known as the Laughing Hero: Ms. Joke, laughs in relief as she leans forward against the bar countertop, a mug of whiskey in hand. She’s dressed in her civilian outfit, which consists of high waist blue skinny jeans and a light yellow crop top tee shirt with a bold white stripe stretching across her chest. Her mint green hair is held back in a low ponytail, and black slip-on sneakers adorn her feet; her outfit accented by  a black choker around her neck and three beaded bracelets coating her right wrist.
Joining her at their favorite bar is Tatsuma Ryuko (Ryukyu), Takeyama Yuu (Mt. Lady), and Kayama Nemuri (Midnight). Nemuri’s rosy red lips tilt upwards into a sly smile, and she raises her glass of red wine to her lips. Unlike Fukukado, Nemuri is dressed to impress, with her beautiful dark blue dress fading to a vibrant pink as it travels down towards the helm of her dress, perfectly matching her light complexion. Black three inch heels adorn her feet, and her deep indigo hair is held over her head in a messy bun, staked into place by a black pin that distinctly resembles a fox tail.
Nemuri pushes up her crimson red glasses, still smiling. “Me too,” she agrees happily. “My agency has been so busy lately with all the League of Villain madness. It feels great to just be in the moment every now and again.”
Sitting on Fukukado’s other side, directly across from Nemuri, Takeyama stares down at her small glass of champagne, her eyebrows knitted together in exhaustion. The Giant Hero, like Ms. Joke, is dressed in casual clothing, wearing short blue jean shorts with a simple orange tank top and a single star-shaped golden necklace around her neck. Her long, wavy blond hair is tied back in a ponytail, which spirals down to her midback in beautiful platinum waves.
“I knew starting my own agency was going to be hard, but I didn’t think it would be this hard,” Takeyama confesses, exhaustion lacing her tone. “Like, I can’t effectively take down any villains because my size destroys so much property, and I hate that my fans only seem to like me because they want me to step on them! It’s so weird! People are weird and gross!” She drops her head onto the table and groans mutely into the polished wood. “And here I thought the big city would be different from home.”
Tatsuma places a gentle hand on Takeyama’s back and pats it reassuringly. Like Nemuri, Tatsuma is dressed for the occasion in a simple yet elegant violet dress with a chain of pearls around her neck and diamond earrings in her ear. It is no surprise Ryukyu would wear such beautiful jewelry, though given her status as a dragon, Nemuri wasn’t surprised.  “Don’t worry, Takeyama. We all start off rough, but guaranteed your agency will become amazing,” the Dragon Hero encourages the blond heroine gently, and Takeyama’s shoulders only slightly relax.
Fukukado taps her chin, her dark green eyes thoughtful. “Come to think of it, aren’t you and Kamui Woods, like, a thing now? I heard his agency is successful, maybe you can talk to him about it,” she says, and Takeyama reaches across the table with frantic shushing gestures.
“Don’t say that outloud! We want to keep our relationship private! The last thing we need is the media crawling up our asses about it,” she snarls at the Laughing Hero, and Fukukado raises her hands in surrender.
“Oops! My bad!” Fukukado yelps and frantically checks around her in case anyone was listening in. Nemuri and Tatsuma make eye contact from across the table and snicker to themselves.
“Kamui Woods is a very dependable man, though,” Tatsuma adds. “I’m proud of you.”
Takeyama buries her face in her hands. “Can’t we talk about anything else?” she whines.
Fukukado’s smile returns full force, and a shit-eating grin splits across her face. “But why though? Everyone loves hearing about a good romance!” She cups her hands to her cheeks and swoons giddily. “Like, just the other day, I ran into Eraserhead at a coffee shop! It was so amazing, like something out of a romance novel!”
Nemuri’s cerulean eyes widen slightly. “Oh yeah, he told me about that. Didn’t he leave the second he saw you?” she asks.
Fukukado’s cheeks flush red, and she chuckles awkwardly. “Oh, yeah, he did. Something about not wanting to deal with my energy or whatever. But that just makes it so much more exciting! I mean, look at him, all dark and mysterious and broody~!”
“Not to mention a total hobo who forgets to shower half the time,” Nemuri adds. The other heroines at the table chuckle.
“AND he’s the only one who I haven’t gotten to laugh yet!” Fukukado goes on, ignoring Nemuri’s remark. “One of these days, I’ll get him to laugh! If not, at least smile! Yeah, that would be amazing.”
“Why not use your Quirk?” Tatsuma asks.
Fukukado shakes her head adamantly. “He erases Quirks, remember? Besides, I don’t just wanna make him laugh! I want to really make him laugh, you know? Something authentic. Using my Quirk would just be dishonest and mean.”
Nemuri shrugs her shoulders, though a part of her is secretly relieved. She’s known Eraserhead since high school, and knowing him, the main reason he wouldn’t want to try dating Fukukado would be because he doesn’t want to be influenced by her Quirk. Then again, this is Eraserhead they’re talking about. After what happened in high school, he probably wouldn’t give her a chance either way. He has trouble enough making friends, let alone dating. The cruel reality of hero work scarred him, and the mere thought of it hurts her heart. Fear guides him, and Nemuri desperately wishes she could do something to help.
“What about you, Midnight?” Nemuri perks up, and finds the eyes of the other heroines glued on her. Fukukado leans forward eagerly, her dark green eyes sparkling like diamonds. “Do you have anyone you’re with right now? With your gorgeous looks and bedazzling personality, I’ll bet yes!”
Tatsuma casts Fukukado a significant look. “Ms. Joke, your bi is showing,” she comments, startling a laugh out of Takeyama.
Nemuri glances down at her wine glass and slowly sways it around in her grasp, watching the dark red liquid roll within its transparent chamber. Her smile becomes wistful. “I’ve had flings, but serious relationships? Nope. I haven’t had any in years. Probably not since high school,” she replies honestly.
Takeyama lifts her head, blinking at the R-Rated Hero in surprise. “What? There’s no way. Your entire aesthetic is about intimacy! Especially the sexy kind,” she gapes, and Nemuri chuckles at her reaction.
“It’s true. I haven’t had a proper boyfriend since my third year in high school, and to be honest…” Nemuri’s smile becomes bitter, and she chuckles in spite of her hypocrisy. “I don’t think I’ll ever date again. Hurts too much.”
Fukukado grimaces slightly. “Oof, was he really that bad?” she asks, and Nemuri immediately shakes her head.
“No, no. In fact, he was amazing. He was the sweetest, funniest, most loyal person I’d ever met. He cared about everyone unconditionally, and he would always go out of his way to help people. Hell, this one time, he found a kitten stuck in the rain and brought it with him to school,” she reminisces, smiling at the memory of him. Even now she can clearly see his broad, glowing smile, and the image sparks an old pain in her heart. “He was my everything. Even though we wanted different things out of life-- with him wanting to start an agency with his other friends, and me wanting to start the Midnight Agency-- we still promised we’d be together. That we'd make it work.”
Fukukado’s brows are drawing together in concern, now, and acid rises in Nemuri’s chest at the realization in her eyes. “Wait, you’re talking about him in the past tense,” she says. “What… happened?”
Nemuri’s smile falls completely, and she utters a deep sigh. “The worst,” she responds. “About fifteen years ago, we were alerted to a villain attack in Tasomiya Ward, a giant monster with the ability to stockpile power.” Tatsuma and Fukukado’s eyes widen nearly simultaneously, no doubt recognizing the event, but Takeyama blinks at Nemuri in confusion; she’s too new to the career to know.
Her voice shudders, but still, Nemuri goes on, “All of us were there. Me, Eraserhead, Present Mic, and… him. We did everything in our power to stop the monster, but it was too big. We couldn’t do anything. I was evacuating everyone out of the area while he, Present Mic, and Eraserhead went to go stop the villain. Civilians got hurt; there’s no way to protect everyone. But he…”
The image washes over her, stealing away all her breath in an instant. She can smell the salty rain clouds, she can feel the slick pavement beneath her boots, the uncomfortable way debris clings to her sweaty skin. Above all else, she remembers rounding the corner just in time to see a cloud explode to life over a class of kindergarteners and their teacher, leaving them protected but him exposed. Their eyes made contact, and before Nemuri could do anything, before she could call out his name or take a step forward, a giant chunk of debris was upon him, and she was helpless to watch it swallow him whole.
The scene barely lasted for more than a few seconds, but she can still see it. The sickening crunch resonating through the air as his skull cracks open, the violent spray of blood from his head… She suddenly wants to throw up her wine and crumble into a ball. Old insecurities she thought she’d abandoned were suddenly creeping up the back of her mind, whispering terribly in her ears.
“Your quirk is useless. It couldn’t protect anyone, especially not your loved ones.”
“It’s because you’re so useless he’s dead.”
“Why are you even a hero?”
“Midnight?”
Nemuri snaps out of the memory and finds the other heroines looking at her in worry. She quickly realizes she’d dropped her wine glass to cover her face, and while thankfully the glass didn’t break, the wine was splattered all over the table top. It looks exactly like his blood.
“Midnight,” Tatsuma reaches out to her and gently takes her hands, leading them away from her face and gripping them tightly. Nemuri clings onto the contact, desperately wishing her hands were someone else’s. “Are you okay? Do you need a moment?”
Nemuri shakes her head slowly and slips her hands out of Tatsuma’s reach. She hates it when people look at her with those worried eyes. “It affected all of us,” Nemuri goes on. “Obviously, it hurt me. I lost my boyfriend and the guy I wanted to… but Present Mic and Eraserhead lost their best friend. Their brother.”
Fukukado shakes her head, tears springing to her eyes. “Oh, Midnight, I’m… I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to open an old wound,” she whispers in horror, and Nemuri shakes her head again, this time with more resolve.
“It’s fine, really. It gave me a horrible wake up call, that above all else, we are heroes. Whether we want to acknowledge it or not. Every day we go out there and put our lives on the line. We could live, we could die, but what matters most is protecting others.” She glances down at the wine spilled all over the table, and her own reflection stares back at her with wary acceptance. She sighs, long and tired. “Watching him die made me realize how easily life can be lost, how tragedy can strike in an instant. That’s why I want to embrace my youth for as long as I can, so I can live enough for both of us.” Her reflection’s lips quirk upward into a trying smile. “That way, when I die, when I can finally see him again, I can tell him about all my adventures with pride.”
Nemuri looks up and finds herself staring into the wet faces of the other heroes. Tatsuma, Fukukado, and Takeyama are all staring at their senior hero with wide, tearful eyes, and Nemuri likes to think in this moment, they felt more respect for the seasoned heroine.
Nemuri smiles back at them and wipes the tears from her eyes. “Remember that, you three,” she tells them. “Go forward knowing nothing-- not even love-- is certain, but don’t let it scare you. The world is scary, dangerous, and even cruel, but what’s most important is cherishing the people in our lives.” She raises her wine glass and what remains of the wine sloshes around in its glassy imprisonment. “To living.”
Fukukado, Tatsuma, and Takeyama look between themselves. One by one, they lift their drinks to the sky, each glass a different shape containing a different drink. “To living,” they echo, and tap their glasses together with Nemuri’s. The R-Rated Hero smiles truly, her heart swelling with pride.
Nemuri drives home alone that night.
Of course, the four heroines stayed at that bar for hours, laughing and drinking together once the shock of Nemuri’s lost-love bombshell faded away. As their senior, Nemuri only drank a few sips of her wine every now and again (although the gruesome memories made her want to get wasted out of her mind), and she allowed the other heroes to have their fun and get as wasted as they want. Takeyama and Fukukado were joking around, having a blast singing old pop culture songs together, occasionally getting Tatsuma to join in whenever the Dragon Hero got over her shyness.
Eventually, Nemuri dragged the three drunken heroines back into her car (thankful they all decided to take Nemuri’s car there and back), and she drove all the ladies home, making sure they had all their possessions with them before leaving. Once she dropped them all off at their houses and made small talk with any partners they had waiting for them, she decided to gather her wits and go home herself. Today was a long day, and she was surprised to find herself emotionally exhausted so soon.
The bar is a fifteen minute drive from her house, but as soon as she leaves her car and strides up the driveway, she pulls open the front door and steps inside her dark home. Despite it’s nice size, being a two story house with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, only Nemuri lives in it, though she’s not completely alone.
“Meow!” Nemuri looks down, and her heart lifts slightly as her tabby orange cat comes bounding over to her, high in energy despite his age. Nemuri kneels down to collect him in her arms, and she cradles the cat like a baby.
“Hello, Sushi-baby,” she coos at him as she kicks the front door shut and locks it behind her. “How are you doing? Were you keeping the house safe from big bad strangers while I was gone?”
Sushi meows in response and nuzzles her bust.
The house is big and empty now, but one day, Nemuri hopes she’ll marry and settle down, maybe start a family all her own. It won’t be for a while, and honestly, Nemuri is scared to start dating out of fear of herself or her partner dying, but she decided a long time ago to live by her words so she bought the house regardless. She’s getting older now, and at thirty-two, she knows she doesn’t have much time left. At the very least, Oboro would want her to be happy, even if her happiness isn’t with him. She just hopes she can find someone accepting of her tastes and interests, like he did.
Nemuri enters her living room and sits back in her recliner, pulling out her phone to amuse herself. Sushi immediately adjusts himself in her lap and kneads her legs with his paws, turning around in a circle before plopping down into a comfortable loaf. Nemuri scratches him behind the ears with a faint smile.
“We’ll be okay,” she says, more so to herself than to the cat.
Sushi’s lazy purring is her only response.
Nemuri leans back into her chair and sighs. Tomorrow will be a new day.

MORE
@anastasian-dreamer mentioned to me they didn’t think I had ever thought about how the vigilante/villian and hero system worked. I went: Actually I have a rough idea… and here we go.
Vigilantes
First, let’s do the differences between villains and vigilantes… intent.
That’s like actually it. Intent is the only thing actually separating villains and vigilantes. They break the law just like villains and they are hunted by the police and often heroes like villains…
Like sure there’s vigilante laws but at the end of the day it’s just intent separating them.
Even then there’s a fine line for how the police classify them. If someone is simply helping out using their Quirk, not like actively looking to fight anyone and just does stuff like help rescue people or help during a villain attack, then it’s minor vigilantism and not that big a deal. Honestly a police or a hero would go: Don’t do that, finger wag and move on their way.
If you actively look for fights, but do not engage until the first punch is thrown at you, then it’s more moderate vigilantism and you will be arrested but let go as you rely on the self defense laws which do actually allow you to use your Quirk. If they can prove you went looking for a fight, then you’ll get a fine or community service.
Now if you go looking and act like a hero by interfering before they throw the first punch then it’s actually vigilantism. Now this is where it gets tricky and the fine line appears.
If you do not do harm that is more then a few bruises, or knocking someone out or tying them up then you are still a viglante.
If you break bones or wound them badly enough to bleed TECHNICALLY you are a villain. But this is actually a technicality and you probably won’t be tagged that unless they die.
As for how ranking goes- honestly it’s just who the police are actually worried about. Most don’t care really. Unless you’re going out and actively hurting people on purpose, they’re more worried about other criminals.
It’s the heroes who fret the most because technically vigilantes are threats to their jobs. If George from accounting can use his Quirk to stop a robbery, they’re out of a job. So it’s heroes who go after vigilantes more often.
There is a program for vigilantes to become heroes as well, but that’s a hush-hush no one talks about it and they only become underground heroes so like no one cares.
If a vigilante does attract media attention, that’s when the police actually get involved more and try to get them. And if the media attention is overwhelmingly positive then the vigilante might get publicly offered a hero position… which yes I have another OC for this.
Blank Spot- a vigilante who evaded police and heroes for three years and not only routed out two villain organizations, but managed to change a slum into a booming neighbourhood.
Now, lets go into Quirkless vigilantes.
Technically they aren’t. I think this is fanon- and it is- but there isn’t actually a canon law saying you have to use a Quirk to be a vigilante… and I like it so:
Vigilante: Defined as ‘using their Quirk in a matter restricted to those who hold a Heroic Licesnse or a Job Specific Permit given to police personal or emergency responders.’
So technically, a Quirkless person isn’t a vigilante which is what then the Quirkless people call the golden rule because it enables them to be able to go around and help their neighbourhoods if needed.
They can though be charged with assault so most let the villains hit them first.
Most stick to low level stuff and just keep to themselves, so heroes don’t care.
The only one who managed to get fame? Blank Spot and even then NO ONE knows who she is. Blank Spot got an Underground License and while she is ranked at 300 in the hero ranking, she mostly sticks to infiltration missions.
Villains
We now get into villains. Villains are those who use their Quirk with an intent to cause harm to others or property.
 That’s like it.
The bag snatcher in episode one isn’t actually a villain though, he’s a criminal.
 Yes there’s a difference.
The difference is in fact how much damage is cause as well as intent. Large-scale damage will term you a villain. Bad snatcher technically is on the edge but his intent wasn’t to do that, it was just to snatch a bag.
Someone breaking into a store to steal things? Criminal because the intent to be a villain isn’t there and the damage isn’t widespread.
Breaking into multiple stores? Still not a villain.
Purposely doing so to then fund a criminal organization? Villain.
So there is a bit of a fine line.
Funnily enough- Gentle Criminal and La Brava technically are more criminal than villain because their goals are more for fame than actual villainy. It’s a big grey area though and they got marked as villains because ‘hey. They’re calling themselves that, let’s just do it and call it a day.’- as per the very annoyed analyst who had to deal with Nezu and the yearly argument over his Class 1 Quirk designation which gets shuffled around the various agencies because it is so annoying.
Now, villain ranking… it actually isn’t a thing. Sure, they have people they are more interested in catching but the idea of a ‘ranking’ is more of a media term because it’s dramatic.
You ask a police officer, an analyst, an intelligence hero or any like government official? They’ll sigh.
“We don’t have a villain ranking. We have villains we are interested in catching more than others.”
Some limelight heroes call it a ranking but that’s more to play to the media and often have their staff chucking things at them in annoyance.
At most, the top ten villains have ranked only to demonstrate how interested they are in catching them. AFO for example is ranked one because he is without a doubt the one who needed to be caught. Shigaraki then moves up.
Then we get to villain organizations.
I refuse to believe that villain organizations are rare. It’s just usually it’s only like five people working together and the idea of a huge organization is less common. These organizations also operate more like yakuza or gangs and will claim parts of a city to be able to rule.
Meaning that really, underground heroes are the ones dealing with them rather then limelight.
The LOV is uncommon enough that it draws attention from the entire public. And it is actually now drawing attention from people wondering if they should rank villains as well.
So like any: oh this villain is ranked whatever is actually Media or heroes just pulling it out of their ass or an analyst making shit up because they’re BUSY Karen.
However- I want everyone to look at what I said. Using a Quirk.
THUS! Quirkless people can ONLY be criminals and not villains legally, a loophole that is used by Quirkless people to get much lighter sentences as villains are the ones who have the heavier punishments compared to criminals!
Hero Ranking
Okay so using some research stuff: in 2017 there were 296,700 police personal in Japan. This however isn’t JUST officers (as in foot police which I equate heroes with).
Now I don’t think there would be more heroes then police, actually I think that there would be two-thirds of the amount of police. So two-thirds of 296,700 is 197,899 (numbers rounded).
Note, I legit just pulled that out of my ass myself but it makes sense that there WOULDN’T be the same amount of heroes compared to police and two-thirds sounds reasonable!
Alright, so there are 197,899 people involved in the heroics career. This doesn’t just mean heroes. It also means people like PR managers, official analysts who work with the heroes, support people who work with heroes, business managers… so, let’s shorten this amount some more.
Now as there are at least 411 hero rankings (Wild-Wild Pussycats are there) I think it’s reasonable that there are a lot of heroes. So… thinking about this a bit more… I’m just gonna say there are 100,000 heroes in Japan because like there are independent ones who probably don’t have an entire agency with them. I also doubt said agencies are actually that big. At most a couple hundred people maybe are part of the agencies. It’s not like Microsoft or McDonalds or anything where they have multiple franchises and employment stuff around the world. No, agencies just have one building and that’s like it. So… yeah.
 There, done. I’m happy.
Now then… how many are actually heroes with licenses though?
As I mentioned before many people who have sidekick licenses remain sidekicks for the rest of their lives and never advance past that. So… this has me halfing the amount because fuck it I can. (Also, because sidekicks can act as a hero, they just cannot act independently so… fuck it.)
So 50,000 people are actually heroes with licenses. Of that 50,000- 10,000 of them are underground heroes. Like actual underground heroes and not like Blank Spot, All Might or Nighteye who have underground licenses but act as limelight heroes.
That gives us 40,000 limelight heroes who can be ranked.
I highly doubt the ranking system goes that far. As mentioned, there are at least 411 hero rankings. I have come to the decision that it makes sense there would be 1000 rankings. Most only care about the top 500 though.
When a hero goes limelight their names are put in the system and then they can be added to the ranking list depending on: how many missions they have logged, how much patrols they do, amount of arrests they have accomplished and their popularity.
As such…. IT DOES NOT MAKE FUCKING SENSE THAT MT LADY IS RANKED 23 AND KAMUI WOODS IS 7 WHEN THEY FUCKING ARE TO NEW. MT LADY ONLY HAD HER DEBUT BARELY A YEAR AGO AND KAMUI WOODS IS REGARDED AS A ROOKIE. MAYBE THEIR EFFORTS DURING KAMINO WARD HELPED BUT FUCK THIS SHIT THIS IS FUCKING STUPID. I REFUSE TO FUCKING BELIEVE KAMUI IS HIGHER THEN RYUKU. THAT IS FUCKING BULLSHIT.
AS SUCH: I respect canon has made a decision, but as it is a STUPID ASS DECISION I have elected to ignore it!
So fuck that shit. Kamui Wood is in the top hundred along with Mt Lady for their actions but that’s it.
The top ten are the best of the best with the top three being actually… 100000% rigged.
The top three aren’t just titles either but actually come with jobs. Number One is responsible for checking the HPSC records and making sure things are above board and legal. Number Two is supposed to be a police watch dog, and Number 3 is supposed to be the… honestly they’re supposed to be the watch dog of the top two.
Of course, as it is right now, how it is set up before was good for the HPSC which is why they partly wanted Best Jeanist killed by Hawks because he would have noticed if they weren’t doing their jobs properly. Endeavour is bribed by HPSC hiding the abuse he gave his family, and Hawks is owned by the Commission so they can’t do anything.
They then would have called for a new ranking and oooh, sorry Edgeshot, but we found some stuff so instead Crust is number 3.
 But stuff happened!
So… there. That’s how I see things going!

BnHA Chapter 279: Here Comes the Airplane
Previously on BnHA: Gigantomachia gathered up the rest of the League and headed off to go help Tomura. Also he is now 80 feet tall. The heroes were all, “whoa this guy is really big, we should probably stop him and maybe even devote an entire chapter or two just to that,” and so they sent three whole people after him, which sadly is pretty much the exact sort of strategy I’ve come to expect from them by this point. Anyway so Mt. Lady tried to hold Machia off but kept getting flung aside, and Kamui Woods tried to catch him but was set on fire by Dabi who is just having way too good of a time setting all of the flammable heroes on fire today, and Midnight tried to put him to sleep but Compress threw a bunch of debris at her and so she fell like 80 feet. The chapter ended with Midnight being all “fuck this” and calling Momo, who ordered the rest of the child soldier squad into action as Machia approached. I’m not really sure what they’re gonna do, but I honestly don’t really care, because it’s Momo, and so, YES.
Today on BnHA: U.A.’s first-year hero students, who apparently had nine hours to prepare their battleground instead of the fifteen seconds we had all assumed, launch a complex multi-staged assault which is actually really fucking impressive because these kids are actually awesome. First they pin Machia down in one of Honenuki’s mud pits, and then they take turns making impassioned attempts to take out the other League members chilling out on Machia’s back. Unfortunately none of these attempts work because of Dabi, who’s working overtime while the rest of the League sits around shooting down each other’s escape plans. Basically a lot of stuff gets set on fire, and then the chapter ends with Mt. Lady pinning Machia to the ground while MINA, YES, MINA, charges at him covered in acid like some sort of video game boss that you need some kind of specific item to defeat. DID YOU KNOW YESTERDAY WAS MINA’S BIRTHDAY YOU GUYS. Anyway so this chapter is basically pandemonium from start to finish, and it’s great. It is a RUMPUS, y'all. A STRAIGHT UP HULLABALOO.
IS IT MOMO LOVIN’ HOURS I THINK IT IS, YOU GUYS. ARE YOU EXCITED. I AM EXCITED
but first, the color page we were promised, in celebration of Six Whole Years Of This Bullshit!!
Tumblr media
oh god oh god so much to love so little time
some of the rowdier characters are making MULTIPLE APPEARANCES IN THIS SHITSHOW, including Kaminari who appears to be in a record-setting THREE of these! who exactly was taking all of these pictures, and why are they so obsessed with him. also how many of these are going to be used as evidence in the latest Kami Traitor Theory posts and is it too early for me to get mad about it
“WE INVITED ENDEAVOR AND HAWKS TO OUR ‘BEING FANCY ON THE COLOR PAGE’ PARTY, EVEN THOUGH THEY’RE NOT U.A. STUDENTS OR FACULTY. WE JUST FELT LIKE IT.” listen that is fine, y’all don’t have to explain yourselves to me
Mirko however is not here, I assume because if she was, Horikoshi would have forgotten to draw all the rest of the characters again. she’s too powerful
Midnight is so sexy I don’t even ksdfnkl
ALL MIGHT LOOKING HAPPY GIVES ME THE STRENGTH I NEED TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WEEK. YOUR SMILE IS THE MVP
Cementoss’s face is the runner-up MVP and one of the greatest things I’ve seen in my life
half the people here seem to be attempting to flirt with whoever is taking the pictures. I am starting to suspect that the culprit is Momo. change my mind
for some reason I am really shocked to see Endeavor getting his drink on. and he’s literally the only one, too
Bakugou’s half-assed I SAID NO PAPARAZZI skills are no match for Tamaki’s legendary “I WILL LITERALLY DIE IF YOU CAPTURE ME ON FILM” abilities
I literally didn’t notice Deku until like three quarters of the page in. he sure does blend right in there
Tokoyami is approximately 97.3% done and ticking EVER CLOSER to full 100% doneness, and when that happens even I can’t tell you what is going to go down
do I even need to mention how sexy Aizawa’s hair is. apparently I do
SERIOUSLY THOUGH CEMENTOSS’S FACE
anyway, so that was nice! NOW ON TO THE MOMOLOVIN’
and we begin with FIRST YEAR CLASS B HONENUKI “MUDMAN” JUZOU just LAYIN’ SOME TRAPS IN THE WOODS, as one does
oh my freaking god Tokage
Tumblr media
somehow her quirk didn’t freak me out quite this much the last time we saw her. she is really something. has she always had shark teeth
also WHERE IS MONOMA’S GROUP. I immediately want to know!! is he with the Shouto group? or is there yet ANOTHER student group we don’t know about? what would they even be doing
or did Horikoshi actually get three quarters of the way through writing this arc and then suddenly slap his forehead as he realized that if Monoma just casually copied Machia’s powers he would either DIE IMMEDIATELY or else become SUPER STRONG and also grow 80 feet tall and this would suddenly be a very different battle with the scales tipping decidedly in the heroes’ favor. and so he had to quickly write him out of the battle in this very half-assed way
anyway, so while I ponder that, Tokage is peeking the top of her head out over the trees and staring at Machia who is, you guessed it, still heading right their way! just like he’s been doing pretty much this entire time
and now there’s a whole page of reaction panels you guys. this is why Horikoshi tries to avoid these massive Endgame-style battles with every single hero known to man participating. hopefully we won’t have too many of these. like I mean thank you for the roll call and all but I’d like to get to the action now
Tumblr media
Mineta of all people is stealing this entire page with that expression though. he is not fucking around. this is twice in as many chapters that he’s been a page-stealing face-making champ. dare I hope this could be the start of a new niche for him? lord knows it would be so much better than the old niche
also this page is just sweatdrops galore. these kids are so nervous. MANGA GODS PLEASE KEEP THEM SAFE, although I’m honestly not too worried about them compared to the adults. I’m sure I should be, but I just am not
all right so now Momo is explaining what those little canisters are!
Tumblr media
okay but someone please explain to me how it is that they had time to stop and lay all of these traps?? not just Honenuki’s, but Mineta’s and what looks like some of Shiozaki’s work as well?? did Machia just STOP MOVING for like five whole minutes all of a sudden for no reason at all? while they were all sitting out here saying things like “with that speed...”? ????? ????????
also lol wtf. “we’re gonna have to make him eat it.” I still have no idea what their plan is, but it’s getting more entertaining by the minute I’ll say that much
okay so Momo says that if they can get him to swallow just one of these, then that should be enough to put him to sleep. oh my god this chapter is going to be AMAZING isn’t it
meanwhile Mineta is worrying about Midnight. I swear to god if they turn this into something where he’s only worried because she’s hot, I will take one of these canisters and shove it right up his...
okay good, Mina’s reassuring him that it’s gonna be okay, and then we’re just cutting to Machia stampeding in with Mt. Lady and Kamui still clinging to him
WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE GUYS EVEN DOING
Tumblr media
“we’ll just stand here adjacent to him and just kind of watch as he rushes straight at the children.” someone help me, I’m having difficulty finding a synonym for “useless” that carries the full amount of emphasis I want to place on it right now. this requires a degree of language the human race is not yet capable of
OH SNAP
Tumblr media
THEY GOT HIM YEAHHHHH
OH DANG, FOR REAL THOUGH!!
Tumblr media
ngl, for a brief spiteful moment I was disappointed he hadn’t actually fallen on them :/
and they’re still JUST STANDING THERE, I CAN'T EVEN?? we’re getting to the point where I honestly think actual civilians might have been of more use in this situation
YESSSSS
Tumblr media
TIME TO FIND OUT HOW MANY TENTH GRADERS GIGANTOMACHIA CAN TAKE IN A FIGHT
also, sorry to keep harping on this, but the juxtaposition of that earlier panel with all of the fully grown and experienced pros just standing in dumb awe, immediately followed by this panel of BRAVE BUT DETERMINED CHILDREN CHARGING IN AND YELLING “GO GO GO”, is just... it really is something. shit. if I was the HPSC and this was what I had to work with, I too might have seriously considered fudging a few age requirements in hopes of finding someone who could actually get the fucking job done
also what the hell is going on down there with Shishida and Satou and that third person? what are those Blackwhip-looking things?? I’m confused
ohhhhh no
Tumblr media
Shiozaki is about to be sent flying through the air courtesy of her own hair vines omg
OH NO WAIT THE THREE TOUGH GUYS ARE STOPPING HIM. AHHH THE LAST ONE WAS KENDOU AHHHH
Tumblr media
I still can’t figure out what the hell those are though lol. did Momo make some steel cables?? I feel like Machia would be able to break just about any kind of rope or chain they could concoct just by sheer brute strength alone
ah fuck
Tumblr media
DON’T YOU GUYS GO RUINING THIS FOR ME!! THEY’VE GOT A GOOD THING GOING HERE, LET THEM HAVE THEIR FUN!!
although I do appreciate how they’re all “U.A.!!” in kind of this “oh shit, these guys we actually have to worry about” sort of tone lol
this look on Toga’s face is a bit concerning! well but Deku and Ochako aren’t here though, so I wonder who she’s gonna fight if it comes to that. huh
(ETA: seriously, does anyone have any idea what Toga is planning cuz I sure don’t.)
Shouji and Ojiro, who I might remind you are normal people with no enhanced physical abilities aside from extra appendages, appear to have somehow circled all the way around to Machia’s back and are now climbing up oh shit
oh and Aoyama’s there too! -- is Shouji carrying him omg
Tumblr media
he’s using him as a human ray gun omggg. this is the most delightful thing I’ve ever witnessed
NOW SOMETHING IS BEING SHOT AT THE LEAGUE AND DABI’S STARING AT IT ALL “>:(” AND I’M PRETTY SURE THIS THING, WHATEVER IT IS, IS ABOUT TO BE SET ON FIRE, LET’S SEE
lds;afksjdl;fkj WERE THOSE JIROU’S EARJACKS??!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay you know what fuck you Dabi. you think it’s funny to set a little girl’s ears on fire?! don’t expect any sympathy from me when Aoyama lasers you in the face
WELL I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S HAPPENING BUT THEY’RE SHOOTING WHAT LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF LITTLE TAMBOURINES AT HIM NOW
Tumblr media
I ASSUME THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY TAMBOURINES, BUT I REALLY DON’T KNOW, IT’S NOT LIKE THEY HANDED OUT THE RULE BOOK TO THIS THING AHEAD OF TIME
[HUGE EXAGGERATED GASPING SOUNDS]
Tumblr media
oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my
OH MY GOD AND YANAGI THREW THEM WITH HER POLTERGEIST QUIRK!??
Tumblr media
I DON’T KNOW WHAT THIS “ACK?!!” IS AND IT’S REALLY BUMMING ME OUT, BECAUSE THIS CAME WITHIN INCHES OF BEING THE COOLEST FUCKING COMBINATION I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!?!?
(ETA: it would have laid them all flat in seconds. Kaminari is to be feared you guys.)
NO!!!!!
Tumblr media
it is sincerely frustrating to me watching the League carelessly toss aside all of their painstakingly accumulated goodwill from the MVA arc in the span of just a few short pages. hey Compress, you think it’s cool to hurl a bunch of rocks at my six-and-a-half-year-old son?? I hope someone rips that cool robot arm off and uses it to punch you in the dick
here comes Sero!! and how are you going to die, Sero
Tumblr media
what in the
Tumblr media
did he just... sneeze them all into space
Tumblr media
okay but hear me out, what if Shouda absorbed that impact. SHOUDA YOUR TIME HAS FINALLY COME. CLASS 1-B’S ASCENT TO GLORY
(ETA: watch this space!! Shouda is here for a reason mark my words.)
meanwhile on Machia’s back, Dabi is soliloquying about Machia’s quirk while his arm is doing... something
Tumblr media
please forgive me for not being able to drum up any sympathy for poor Dabi’s arms right about now. quit trying to set all my kids on fire
wait whaaaaat lol
Tumblr media
so I scrolled back up to the previous page, and... that was fire?? lord help me why am I still so terrible at being able to tell when Horikoshi is drawing fire as opposed to just air randomly whooshing through trees. I have really got to memorize that foossh sound effect
so can Gigantomachia just BREATHE FIRE now?? or was ALL OF THAT Dabi??? if it was the latter then at least he had the decency to wait until all of the kids got blown out of range before setting the whole forest aflame to keep them back. I’ll admit it, that was thoughtful of him as far as villain power moves go
OHO BUT YOU CAN’T COUNT MOMO OUT JUST LIKE THAT!!
Tumblr media
AND NOW EVERYTHING AROUND THEM IS EXPLODING AHHHHHH DID YOU GUYS SET LANDMINES, BAKUGOU WOULD BE SO PROUD
Tumblr media
once again I have to ask myself exactly how much prep time they had here. Horikoshi would have you think it was mere seconds, but that clearly cannot be the case?? maybe they set some of these up beforehand to catch any stray villains trying to flee the area?
lmao Spinner’s all “wait why doesn’t he just dig his way out”, because apparently Machia can tunnel himself under the ground. but Compress is all “um because we would die” and Spinner is all “oh right”
though I gotta say, it’s not like they’re that much better off as things are now, either. pinned down in the woods surrounded by fire and explosives. definitely a conundrum
oh snap Compress has realized that their presence is holding Machia back. don’t tell me Machia is gonna head off on his own and leave the rest of the League to square off with the kids
YOOOOOO HOLY SHIT THE HEROES ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING
Tumblr media
there you go, League! free cannon fodder to get you all pumped and confident again!
DKFJLSDKJ
Tumblr media
PLEASE LET THIS BE THE ACTUAL TRANSLATION OH MY GOD. THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE LINE IN ANYTHING AHHHH
“I’m leaving it to you, U.A.’s youngsters!” yeah, you and everyone else. ah well, can’t deny they get the job done
OH MMKJKYYYY GODDDDDDJJK
Tumblr media
MINA COATED HERSELF IN ACID AND IS RUNNING AT GIGANTOMACHIA AND IS SHE ALSO ON FIRE??!?! SHE’S JUST RUNNING AT HIM LIKE A BIG OL’ FIERY BLOB???! QUEEN MINA???!! FIRE IS NOT HER WEAKNESS???! MINA??!! IS AIRPLANE?!??!!?!? MINAAAAAAA
holy fucking shit this whole arc is just one big Arc Of Ladies Getting To Do Stuff and I am 1000% living for it. THIS ARC IS MY FAMILY. I WOULD DIE FOR IT AND LEAVE EVERYTHING TO IT IN MY WILL. ahhhhhhhhhh

100 Follower Celebration Prompt #7 - “I swear to god, if you don’t put down that book and cuddle me, you’re getting tickled.”
Requested by: @strawbirb
Pairing: Inasa Yoarashi x gn! Reader
Warnings: swearing
Word Count: 0.5k
taglist: @mindninjax @pomsuki @blahkugo @catsonthebeachfics @bakatenshii @red-riot-girl642
enjoy!
The living room was quiet. The only sounds you could hear were Seiji messing around in the kitchen, and the intermittent turning of a page.
The pages in question were from a book your best friend was reading across the couch. Inasa Yoarashi had his cute nose buried in an English translation of The Hunger Games. He could speak the language fairly fluently, but lately, he had been trying to hone his reading skills.
You should have been doing the same, but the day off from classes and training was not going to be spent learning. Shiketsu may have been the Yuuei of western Japan, but that didn't mean you couldn't take a break every now and then. Currently, you were lying with your cap on the arm of the sofa, draping your legs across Inasa's lap. He didn't seem to mind, plus his giant fluffy cape was comfortable.
Plus, your giant crush on him was sated, for the time being, by touching him.
You hated Shiketsu's stupid rule about no dating. You were third-years for Chrissake. It's not like pro heroes didn't date. You should know, you had been following Mt Lady and Kamui Woods' relationship for weeks now.
However, you had grown bored. Flipping through Tumblr and Twitter had become redundant, and playing games didn't sound appealing.
A devious idea crossed your mind. You tapped the bottom of Inasa's book with your toe.
He grunted, readjusting his arms to rest on your legs fully. It made it a bit difficult to move, but not impossible. You shifted again, and his giant hand came to rest on your calf.
"Are you okay? Sit still." He said, eyebrows scrunching together in slight annoyance.
You threw your head back and sighed. "Inasa, I swear to God, if you don't put that book down and cuddle me, you're getting tickled."
He stilled, tearing his attention away from the book and to you. A smirk painted his features. "Oh yeah? I'd like to see you try."
You tried to get up, but he had your legs locked in his strong arms. The book was long gone, Katniss' adventures to be read another time. Guess you got your wish, but what now?
Inasa answered that for you. One arm gripped your calves, and the other reached up towards your sides.
"Inasa Yoarashi, you better not."
His smirk only widened into a fully-toothed grin. The warm touch of his hand on your stomach made you draw in a breath before bursting into laughter as he tickled you. It was easy to hide how flustered you were at his touch; the blush on your cheeks could be excused by how hard you were laughing.
"What the hell are you two doing? Keep it down, dammit." Came Seiji's voice from the kitchen doorway.
Inasa stopped, leaning back up to his original position. "Of course, Shishikura. I apologize for disturbing you." His eyes stayed on you as he spoke, winking on the last word.
If you weren't in love with him before, you definitely were now.

The Hero Billboard Chart and Gang Orca
Right you all know Kugo Sakamata aka Gang Orca?
Tumblr media
In my opinion one of the coolest fucking heroes Hori has ever designed.
Yeah I need to rant about him for a bit. Bare with me here.
When we are introduced to him he is the number 10 hero. THE NUMBER 10 HERO. Keep this in mind.
He shows off his strength in the Provisional Hero License Exam, which he wouldn’t have most likely even been going full out on considering its still an exam, just a test, but it’s also shown he’s considered very trustworthy to shape the future generation as he was involved with those taking the remedial course like Shouto and Katsuki.
Overall he’s great and the fandom? Well we liked him! A lot! Hell I know some hardcore Gang Orca stans in this fandom.
He’s powerful, humorous, looks wicked cool and can also be serious when needed! All around a likable guy. No wonder lots of people in the fandom like him.
Unfortunately his popularity isn't exactly the same in canon. While he could likely have been relatively popular to have been ranked top 10 when we saw him, we also know from Hawks talking about Endeavor that your popularity rank does not have to match your actual ranking on the Hero Billboard Chart.
This along with the horrifying knowledge that he is ranked third among heroes who look like villains, which is a horrible ranking to even exist and shows how intolerant the MHA world is, could very well mean he wasn’t ranked very high on the popularity chart last time (and also this time around). Why you may ask, is this important? He still ranked number 10 didn’t he? That has to speak for itself?
Well yeah he was ranked number 10.
Was being the word there.
When we got to the Hero Billboard Chart arc ,or more commonly bunched all together and referred to as the Pro Hero Arc, it is revealed, Gang Orca went down 2 ranks. To number 12.
Why would Hori push down a relatively well established Pro Hero the fandom already liked? The answer could be simply that he wanted to introduce more new characters, yet why do that when the MHA cast is already so large? We’ve already seen he’s had very little time to flesh out and develop any of the new characters introduced in the “New top 10“ except for Hawks.
(Who’s almost a main character at this point so he really doesn't count here. Hawks also was hinted at before with Tokoyami’s internship so he was already established pre the Billboard chart. None of the other new heroes got this.)
Miruko, Wash, Crust and Yoroi Musha that’s four more characters to add to an already large cast. God I love Rumi don’t get me wrong but out of all of these 4 she's the only one who’s gotten any time to herself since then!
We don’t care about Crust or Yoroi and while some of the fandom finds Wash amusing or puzzling (seriously he’s a straight up washing machine?? what?) that’s all there is to it.
It was made even more obvious this arc when what happened to Crust and (presumably) Wash happened and no one in the fandom cared??? There was just not enough time to flesh these characters out even the bare minimum.
So even though Hori might have liked these characters and might have wanted to do more with them, it would have been a smarter decision and could narratively have made sense to keep Gang Orca in the top 10.
Another reason Gang Orca should have stayed in the top 10? Here’s a direct quote from a reporter during the Hero Billboard Chart. “This time, those heroes involved with the Kamino incident have all seen their approval rating’s go up.”
Why does this involve Gang Orca? Because it's shown throughout this episode/chapter that everyone involved with Kamino saw a boost in both popularity and ranking.
We even know Kamui Woods gained a huge boost along with Mt Lady.
Who else do we know who was involved with Kamino? Oh that’s right.
Tumblr media
Gang Orca. Gang Orca should at least have been ranking higher then Yoroi Musha since the dude hasn’t been involved in any major take downs that we know of.
The argument of whether Ryukyu or Gang Orca should be higher can be made, due to the former being involved in the Shie Hassaikai raid/incident, however only specifically Kamino is pointed out by those in this episode/chapter so I would have put him in with a fair chance.
Now why do I think the Hero Billboard Chart is bullshit? Because I’m pretty fucking positive the Hero Commission fucks with the rankings. I also know I’m very much not the only one who thinks that.
Hawks sweetie for all I love you I find it a tad suspicious how quickly you rose in the ranks. Only a year and breaching the top 10?? Even if the HC’s marketing for him was on point (which that’s also them fucking with the rankings and showing high bias if that’s the case) I really doubt he should have broke top 10 that quickly.
Mt Lady was involved with Kamino, we can presume was a sidekick for a few years and is really well liked and she only became part of the top 20 at age 22/23.
Everyone in the top ten is over 25
Hawks would have been 18 when he breached it. Yeah I ain’t buying that shit.
Why would they have stepped in for Gang Orca? Well even if it wasn’t specifically them (though I doubt it), Gang Orca dropping out of the top 10 is pretty big to suggest more on the discrimination mutant quirked individuals face in the MHA society
In “MHA Heros Rising” one of the villains also blatantly states he became a monster because people already treated him like one.
We also know Spinner hates being referred to as Lizard and took great offense when Dabi did so.  That with all the other hints sprinkled in..
From what we know the HC has not stepped in to stop this at all.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the HC did in fact bring Gang Orca down out of the top 10 and used the end of All Might’s Era as a convenient excuse.
Again if anything due to being involved in Kamino the guy should have jumped up a rank not gone down 2.
Gang Orca I will say very happily is one of my favourite heroes. I’m quite biased to him. Yet looking this over again and again. I still do not understand why he would have dropped ranks like that in a way that makes sense in cannon except for having the ranks be fucked with.
Gang Orca deserved better than what Hori gave him. He is more liked than any of the new characters introduced except Miruko because of that we are very attached to him. He deserved to be top 10 and I will forever be salty about it. Hopefully I got my point somewhat across? I admit I’m not very good at compiling my thoughts in a concise manner, hence the “Rambles” part of my name.

bnha rewatch: episodes 3 and 4
In which I analyze the first tentative steps Midoriya takes toward self-confidence, Iida’s and Uraraka’s initial contrasting characterizations, why Present Mic is the next big hero introduced after All Might, and the recklessly clever and somewhat shady UA exam. I’ve posted this on AO3 as well if that’s easier to read; the link to the account is at the top of my Tumblr.
Tumblr media
The first two episodes of My Hero Academia explore, in part, the negative consequences of doubt. No one believes in Midoriya’s ability to become a hero, not even his own mother, and in the first two episodes, he’s clinging to his dream by a small thread. He hasn’t given up on it, but he’s not actively fighting for it either.
Enter Toshinori.
All Might dismisses Midoriya like everyone else, stating bluntly that a person needs power, and thus a quirk, to become a hero. When Midoriya tries to save Bakugou against the sludge villain, he knocks Toshinori out of his All Might persona and reminds him of himself. Midoriya reminds Toshinori of who he used to be, and thus of what heroism used to be and should be. Toshinori tells Midoriya this and tells him that he believes that Midoriya can be a hero, that he already is a hero in the most important way.
We see the positive consequences of this belief in episodes three and four. Just one person believing in Midoriya (or perhaps the right person believing in Midoriya) motivates him to accomplish great things. In 10 months, he completely cleans the beach and transforms his body, which, despite the upbeat montage to the contrary, would not be easy. Every minute of his life for 10 months is planned out: what to do, what to eat, when to sleep. It’s hard. Midoriya struggles. He falls asleep in class and spaces out in a quintessential mumble fest. Yet he pushes himself beyond this. Now going above and beyond in his initial training is not good, and Toshinori calls Midoriya out on this when he realizes what is going on, but it’s serves as a dynamite example of the importance of belief. Again, just one person believing in and helping Midoriya motivates him above and beyond.
This, of course, contrasts Bakugou at the end of episode two, who furiously declares to Midoriya that he was fine by himself against the sludge villain and that he didn’t need any help. He did, and Midoriya did, too. It’s interesting that it’s Toshinori who is the first one to help Midoriya to become a hero when he’s partly responsible for the notion of heroes going it alone. He is THE symbol of peace. Singular. One. And yet the All in One for All seems more important in BNHA. Midoriya even comments at the end of episode four that his life changed completely because of the help that he received.
Yet he hasn’t changed completely. Midoriya still doubts himself in these episodes. He doesn’t think that he can clean the beach at first (in a nice allusion to The Empire Strikes Back and Luke Skywalker doubting that he can lift his X-Wing with the Force). And even after 10 months, even after all he’s accomplished, he still questions whether he’s worthy of receiving All Might’s help, much less his power. Additionally, when he runs into Bakugou at the UA entrance, he still cowers before Bakugou, “out of habit” despite the fact that he’s not “defenseless Izuku” anymore. And in the mock battle, Midoriya is too afraid to fight the first robot he encounters; he can’t even move he’s so afraid. He’s taken big first steps in believing in himself and his ability, but progress and healing are slow, especially for Midoriya who wants so desperately to be a hero, yet who lives in a society where the very notion of heroism has been twisted.
I don’t think it’s an accident that Present Mic is the second hero we’re introduced to in the show. No offense to Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, and Death Arms in the first two episodes, but they’re on a different level than Mic and All Might and the other heroes associated with UA, if only narratively. So why is Mic the second hero introduced, why is he overseeing the hero exam and not Eraserhead or Vlad King, who become some of the first year homeroom teachers? It’s because Mic is ALL FLASH. It goes back to the sham and show aspect of heroism, how a hero’s career “depends on their ability to stay in the spotlight.” Or as All Might says in these episodes, heroes just focus on “capturing flashy villains and showing off these days.” Mic has the showing off aspect down to a T. He puts on the old RAZZLE-DAZZLE in front of the prospective students, so much so that some of them come to view the test as a video game. Being a hero is a game. It’s a show. It’s all fame and fortune.
And yet it isn’t. All Might tells this to Midoriya in his training. Midoriya has to clean the beach not just to improve himself physically, but to serve the community, without any gratitude or acknowledgement from the town. Service is what matters, helping others is what matters, and the UA exam assesses this.
I’ve always been struck by how UA kept the full parameters of the test hidden from the students. They know about combat points, but not about rescue points. Why keep this hidden? It seems like it’s to assess their character, to see if they really have a heroic spirit. Tell students that rescue points are a parameter, and most will act selflessly yet for a selfish reason: to succeed in the test, not to genuinely help others. So UA keeps this parameter hidden, and they place students in situations that assess how willing they are to aid others. Most aren’t, which we hear in the exam when the students start sniping at each other in their efforts to get more points. We see it too when the Zero Pointer is unleashed. Midoriya is on the ground, clearly afraid and in need of help, yet all the students, including Iida, run right past him. Additionally, Uraraka is in even more distress than he is, pinned beneath some rubble as the Zero Pointer approaches. And yet no one helps her. No one except Midoriya.
I love this moment, maybe even more than when Midoriya tries to save Bakugou from the sludge villain, because, before Midoriya hears Uraraka, he’s in full selfish mode. He’s only thinking of himself and getting points to pass the test. Then he hears Uraraka, and everything goes quiet. He stops thinking about what he needs, he stops thinking altogether, and he just acts. He runs, and in a mimic and expansion on what he did against the sludge villain, Midoriya slugs the Zero Pointer right in the eye.
Midoriya is not the only one with this heroic spirit. Uraraka has it, too. It’s her first defining characteristic. Before we know anything else about her, her name, her gender even, we know this character is someone who saves others. She saves Midoriya from falling on his face as they enter UA. It’s a small moment, but it’s in stark contrast to how everyone else treats Midoriya here. Bakugou is Bakugou. Iida chastises Midoriya twice, first for his mumbling during Mic’s explanation and then for wanting to speak to Uraraka before the exam, suspecting him of trying to sabotage her. All the other students, including Aoyama, smile at the thought of Midoriya being a weakling because it means one less person to fight against in the test. But not Uraraka. She saves Midoriya from falling on his face not once, but twice, saving his life the second time though she must sacrifice herself physically to do so (paralleling how Midoriya sacrificed himself to save her), and she demonstrates her selfless, heroic spirit a third time when she tries to get UA to donate her exam points to Midoriya. Ignorant of the true parameters of the exam, she calls UA out for failing to award Midoriya for saving her. That’s more important than destroying some random robots.
This attitude is in stark contrast to Iida. Iida’s introduction does not highlight his helpful, saving side. Rather, we see him chastise and call out people three times: Mic when he thinks UA has made an error in their robot explanation, Midoriya for mumbling during the explanation, and Midoriya again when he’s trying to thank Uraraka for helping him. Then we see Iida run right by Midoriya when the Zero Pointer comes. It’s only afterward, after Midoriya’s shocking display of heroism, that Iida reflects and reassesses both Midoriya and the exam. Iida directly contrasts his own selfish action of running by Midoriya to Midoriya’s selfless action of saving Uraraka, and he wonders if rescuing others is a hidden parameter of the test. In a move reminiscent of Bakugou at the end of episode two (when he tracks down Midoriya and doubles down on being fine on his own and not needing anyone’s help, when he denies the truth basically), Iida tries to deny that his actions here say anything meaningful about him. Rather, they were a reflection of the situation, not him. Iida thinks that, if this were real, he would have acted as Midoriya had. That’s not true, as seen in the Stain arc. Iida is an inversion of Midoriya in these episodes. He looks more like a hero than Midoriya does, he’s taller and stronger, and he has a serious, competent air, which contrasts Midoriya, who mumbles and trips and flails and generally fails to impress. At least until the moment of truth comes, and then the truth comes to light, and like Bakugou (though he denied it) and like Toshinori (who maturely admitted it), Iida is affected by Midoriya’s heroism and has started his path of growth.

Fantasy au 👁👁
I was going to wait to post this but there's barely any mt. Lady content even after the new episode so im taking it into my own hands
Tumblr media
Sooo this was the design i came up with and im pretty happy with it!
So basically in this au she a daughter to a giant king and queen and lives in this rocky baren area. She decides after a few events and whatnot that she no long wants to live here along with being a giant. She manages to get ahold of shinya[Edgeshot] (who is a kitsune in this au) to turn her human size and help her run away.
And yes this is a very brief idea of her backstory but it gets the main points to go into a bit of detail about her design and some other details.
Design:
So the main thing i wanted to do in this design is to make it seem elegant but also a little bit rough.
I gave her a nice kamino thing along with her hair in the frount to be long to sorta give her an elegant look.
Then gave her some bandages, short back hair, and off the sleeves thing to make it semi rougher.
The cut hair is also supose to go with that trope where a character cuts their hair to symbolize some big change in their life. (Yu [mt. Lady] deciding to leave home in this case)
I didn't actually intend at first to give her short hair but i really like it.
i didn't really have a reason to give her nose piercings but im sure I can incorporate it into the story somehow!
Also didn't plan to give her nose piercings but they look nice.
Other details
Okay so I haven't decided on all the exact reasons that made her want to leave but the big overall reason was that she didn't enjoy the culture/tradition.
The main culture/tradition thing im talking about here his arranged marriages but im going to add more reasons later on.
Another reason not related to culture/tradition is that she didn't want to stay in this area her whole life; she wanted to explore other lands and make a name for herself but her size would make that quite difficult.
Giants have these small (in there case at least) humanoid creatures that they have due task and other work.
Yu had one of the head leaders of these creatures write a letter to shinya since one, yu nor any other giant can't write. And two, that head leader would be the only one able to successfully deliver it without being caught.
Little bit of background is that all the other giants hate shinya mainly due to family pasts so writing a letter to him asking him to help you escape and shrink is a bit risky to stay the least.
When yu's parents go out of town is when shinya got there and shrank her but have to leave quickly after once one of the royal servants notices her disappearance.
Shinya operates/lives in his family library which is where he takes yu so he can at least teach her how to read and write before being tossed out into the world.
She also meets shinji [kamui woods] whom also lives in the library for reasons i can get into in another post and they get along pretty well 👀.
she decides on living in the library for awhile along with them until further notice.
She does learn how to read and write along with some universal manners for this universe.
Shinji and yu do end up dating and shinya gets to be a third wheel. (Don't worry though, there's more than enough room for them to have there own room 😉)
One thing im also not entirely sure of with her character is what kind of magic she's going to have.
The way shinya's spell works is that it doesn't erase a person's magic but makes it into a black slate. So the magic use to make yu a giant erased the giant aspect of it and is now just pure magic.
So my main thing rn is if the magic should be able to transform into a giant (like how she in the og series), make other things larger, or something completely different.
Also she has a pet magical cow now <3
That's it for now if u got any questions just ask and i may get to them lol. The reason i was waiting on posting this was i was planning on posting all of hers, shinya's, and shinji's designs in one post. Although this format should let me go into more detail in the individual characters design and details without the post being super duper long.

Highstakes Last One Standing
The call had been enough to cause every hero nearby to flock to the area. A sighting for the League of Villains. Causing havoc in an abandoned hotel. Eraserhead dropped some eyedrops in, looking at the scene.
"Why don't we just march in there?" Endeavor snarled.
"We don't know if they have any hostages-"
"COMPRESS JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW! THAT HAS TO BE CHEATING!" The shrill voice of Toga echoed-
And sure enough, Compress was indeed falling- from the fifth story window. He grabbed the edge of the third story window and heaved himself inside, freezing to look at the various cops and heroes outside. There was a tense moment of just staring before anyone said anything. Eraserhead slowly reached towards his capture tape.
"THE HEROES ARE HERE!" He shouted, disappearing inside.
And just like that, the heroes were rushing in. Eraserhead scaled the building, rushing in where Compress had vanished into- but instead ran into Spinner. Without hesitation, he threw the capture tape, which wound around Spinner as he gave a yelp.
Compress dashed from a hallway, Spinner turning into a marble before the two disappeared. Dabi hot on their tails. Dabi didn't even stop to look at Eraserhead- but Eraserhead activated his quirk.
What Eraserhead found the most odd was that Dabi didn't even bother trying to use his quirk, he was just running. So Eraserhead gave pursuit.
Compress, a freed Spinner, and Dabi slid to a stop when Magne dashed out from another hallway- tackling Spinner.
"TAG!"
Compress and Dabi split even faster. Eraserhead was floored for a brief moment. Tag. They were playing tag. He didn’t have time to think about that now. Both Magne and Spinner were also now running, and he was giving chase. He himself had to dodge fire as Endeavor’s plan was to seemingly light up the whole building. He caught a glimpse of a hate filled glare from Dabi, and prepared himself for a fight- but Dabi simply took off running again around a corner. He turned the corner, his capture tape wrapping around Toga, who stuck out her tongue at him.
“What’s your plan?” “We’re playing tag!”
“What else if your plan?” “We might go get sushi later!”
The capture tape tightened, causing Toga to collapse in a pile of brown. Eraserhead frowned. There wasn’t a lot of force applied, meaning that this clone had been incredibly fragile. And that could mean various different things.
He didn’t stop, running forward, capture tap at the ready as he turned another corner. He met eyes with Best Jeanist, who slid to a stop as he held Twice. He turned on erasure, but it wasn’t enough to stop the blue flame that shot out from behind him. Rushing past him and between Twice and Best Jeanist. Eraserhead turned on his heel, to see a fleeing Dabi, and Twice took the opportunity to slip the other way.
Best Jeanist gave a slight, annoyed sigh, but continued his chase after Twice- or he tried. A blue aura wrapped around both Best Jeanist and his bodies and they were thrown against the wall. They could hear the sound of both a cackling Magne and Twice.
And it just kept going. Eraserhead counted at least six other heroes in the chase. Gang Orca, Kamui Woods, Mt. Lady, Present Mic, Fat Gum and Endeavor. But none of the League ever engaged. They stuck together and escaped, but they never attacked. In fact, when they saw each others groups, they escaped each other. And they were doing a good job at evading both.
They really were just playing tag. High stakes, life threatening tag. But tag.
“TWICE YOU CHEATER WE’RE SUPPOSED TO STAY IN THE BUILDING!” Eraserhead’s head snapped up, listening from where Spinner’s voice came from.
“NOT WITH HEROES HERE! OKAY SORRY!”
“YOU CLIMBED THE OUTSIDE!” He heard Magne’s voice yell.
“I LEAPT OUT THE WINDOW!” Yes, that was Compress.
“ENOUGH!”
Endeavors flames flared, and just like that, the building went up in a blaze.
Eraserhead made his way to the closest window, seeing Toga and Compress flee out of the back and into the street. And once again, he was on their tail. They dashed around the corner and into an alley.
And he lost them. His eyes scanned the crowd for them, but saw no sign of them.
Gone.
His attention was drawn by the shouting on the next rooftop over.
“TAG!”
“DAMNIT! GOOD CATCH!”
Dabi was now running from Twice, Spinner and Magne. And Eraserhead found it strange that Magne didn’t just pull Dabi towards her.
It must be in the rules, as ironic as that is to say, considering they were a group of villains.
“This is Eraserhead. The League is escaping via rooftop heading north. Toga and Compress have disappeared into the crowd.”
All hell broke loose. The present, and not injured heroes, burst forward, and the four remaining members broke into a sprint. Present Mic, Fat Gum, Gang Orca and Endeavor all gave chase, all heading North-
“GUYS COME ON!”
Toga screamed from a rooftop across the street. She was magnetized pink- Dabi, Twice and Spinner becoming blue. The three men grabbed onto a large pole, Magne grabbing in the center and the four were propelled across the street. Eraserhead watched as they successfully made it across, pulling off the timing and maneuvering of the stunt with practiced precision.
The heroes gave chase again, but as soon as they were over there, the whole league disappeared.
“This is Present Mic. I have lost visual.”
“This is Gang Orca, Visual lost.”
“Eraserhead. Visual Lost.”
They lost their chance to catch the League of Villains.
On the street, people crowded to take a look at the heroes that stood on the rooftop, and try to get a glimpse of the burning building. In that crowd stood Toga, disguised at a random woman she killed once, dressed in various different articles of clothing from the few League members. In her pocket sat five marbles.

What It Takes To Be A Hero (part 3)
Cops separated the crowed and the scene. One of the people there asked:”Woah, what's that?! Could he be a big-shot villain?”
The woman next to him gasped:”She's here! The rookie hero, Mt. Lady!”
The people cheered as the giant heroine made her way to the area but then stopped as she figured she’s to big to get inside. “W-Wait... I need there to be at least two lanes!”
Kamuri Woods grabbed as many people as he could in each of his arms and run away from the fire:”I'm not good with explosions! I'll leave it to someone else for today!”
Backdraft shot water in an attempt to put of the fire:”Thanks for that. I have my hands full fighting the fire. The fire truck's not here yet?” he asked. When no one came, he checked how the other heroes are doing:”How are things over there?”
“He's sticky and hard to grab, and a child with a strong Quirk is struggling against him. Thanks to that, it's a minefield.” Death Arms reported.
“It's hard to do anything against this triple play!” added one of the other heroes at the scene.
They had to dodge as Sludge villain attacked once again. “Crap!”
“It’s no use!”
“There's no one who can take care of this at the scene right now! All we can do is wait for someone with a more suitable Quirk!”
“Let's hold back the damage until then!”
“Don't worry, I'm sure someone will be here soon! I feel bad for that child, but he'll just have to bear it a little longer.”
“Damn it!” Death Arms cursed. “If only I had enough power to blow this guy away!”
“Poor Bakugo...” said Yaoyorozu and Jiro wordlessly took her hand.
“Hey, doesn't it look kinda bad?” Noted a person in the crowed.
“Yeah, no shit.” said Sero and Iida sighed knowing he can’t censor everyone all the time.
“You can do it, heroes!” another one cheered.
All Might stood behind them, still panting from his sprint, and took a look at the situation.
All Might gasped as he remembered Midoriya clinging to his leg. “It was back then! I was too distracted by my time limit! I was too distracted by my time limit! Pathetic...” he grasped his shirt where he had his scar. “Pathetic...”
The scene changed to Midoriya walking in the streets looking at his notebook. It was open in the page of Kamui woods. a sketch of the hero covered one page as notes were written in the one next to it such as ‘best at holding back damage’ and ‘so cool!”
Tumblr media
Then, the words of his classmates came back to him.
‘He still can't face reality, even though he's already a third year in junior high.’
Midoriya flipped the page to the one with Mt. Lady. Some of the notes with her were ‘Gigantification! 20 m?!’ ‘Canyon Cannon” Next to her drawing you could see the words 'Huge!’ and ‘Sexy’.
Tumblr media
“Ah-ha!” Mineta exclaimed. “I knew it! I knew I wasn’t the only one here who can appreciate when a woman is sexy. But when I do it you call me a pervert, well, who’s the pervert now?!”
The girls groaned.
Momo said, Tiredly:”Mineta, there is a difference between noting that a woman is sexy and the things you do.”
Hagakure added “The day where Midoriya tries to look below our skirts you can talk, alright?”
‘It's time for you to think seriously about your future.’
Another flip, this one is All Might’s autograph.
'You also have to consider what's realistic.'
Midoriya closed the notebook. On the cover is says ‘Hero Analysis for the Future’.
‘Even a top pro said it.’ he said to himself, his eyes filled with tears.
He sniffed. ‘Don't cry! You knew, didn't you?’
“Aww....” said Uraraka.
“Midoriya...” said Ojiro.
“The reality. You knew. That's why you were trying so desperately. You were averting your eyes, not looking at reality.” Then something exploded.
Midoriya looked up and turned to the direction where the sound came from, ‘Is this where the explosion earlier was...? His expression was sad and tried. ‘Hang on, does that mean I came out of habit without noticing?’ he wondered.
He crossed the road, trying to get a look at the scene despite his inner voice’s protests. ‘Stop it. It'll just feel meaningless right now.’
Then he noticed the sludge villain.
“Why's that guy here?! Did it get away from All Might?!”
“Did he drop it? If he did...Then it’s my fault!” the realization hit.
One guy in the crowed asked:”Why aren't the heroes doing anything?”
“They can't.” The man next to him replied. “Apparently the villain caught a junior high schooler. It's been like that for a while.”
‘Caught...? It's been like that for a while? How can they bear that suffocation? I thought I'd die after a few seconds.’ Midoriya covered his mouth and shook at the reminder:’wow...!’ “Anyway, wasn't that villain the one All Might was chasing earlier?” someone asked.
“All Might? No way! He's here?“
“I think I saw him earlier.”
“Seriously?!”
“Then what's All Might doing?!”
All Might stood helplessly behind them, clenching his wound. “Pathetic...”
“It's my fault...!“ Midoriya shook. “He can't do anything! All we can do is wait for someone with a more suitable quirk! Do your best! I'm sorry! I’m so sorry!”
“This show is depressing...” said Hagakure.
“Help will arrive soon... Someone... A hero... will soon...”
Both Midoriya and All Might waited helplessly, All Might cursing himself over and over while Midoriya is wallowing in self blame. No one knew what to do, how to help.
And then Bakugo struggled just enough to move his head and open his eyes. Looking straight at Midoriya. His big red eyes were filled with horror and helplessness.
Midroiya gasped.
The notebook dropped on the floor.
And before anyone could blink the boy lunged straight to the monster.
"NO WAY! Oh crap, sorry Sensei but- it was HIM!!!” Kirishima stood up. “The boy who rushed to help Bakugo was MIDORIYA!”
“No way!” yelled Kaminari.
“No one said that in the news!” said Ashido.
“And after being bullied by him for so long...” said Shoji.
“And he didn’t even have a quirk.” added Todoroki
All Might and the heroes in the scene gasped.
Death Arms reached his arm:”Idiot! Stop! Stop!”
Tumblr media
“That brat...” “Deku...” Bakugo and the sludge villain both noticed.
“Does this boy have a death wish?!” Asked Sero.
“You’re asking as if you just met him.” said Todoroki. “Why did I run out? what am I doing? Why?!” Midoriya asked himself.
“Those are some very good questions, Midoriya.” Said Jiro.
“Die in an explosion!” the villain shouted and shot explosions at him.
“Jokes on you, Midoriya spent most of his life dodging explosions.” Said Kaminari.
“That’s pretty sad, Kaminari.” Said Tsuyu.
“I am using humor to cope.”
“It’s not even your trauma!” Ashido argued.
“I am a very empathetic person, alright?!”
‘What do I do? What do I do at a time like this?’ he was freaking out.
“Nice to know I’m not the only one who’s screaming internally in crazy situations...” said Sato.
Then the scene flashed to the image of Midoriya’s notebook, specifically, to the page with Kamuri Woods. ‘Pre-emptive Binding Lacquered Chain Prison: Quickly stretch out arms (vines)’
‘page 25!’
“Don’t tell me he has them memorized.” said Sato.
“Come on man, it’s Midoriya.” Sero replied.
Midoriya threw his bag that hit directly in the villain’s eye, making his grasp on Bakugo slip long enough for him to cough and pant.
“Kacchan!” Midoriya screamed and clawed at the slime in at attempt to free his classmate.
“Why are you here?!” he yelled at him. “Way to show gratitude, Bakugo.” said Uraraka.
“My legs moved on their own! I don’t know why, though!”
“Midoriya’s behavior is a mystery even to himself...” said Tokoyami.
"I think there were various reasons.” current-Midoriya narrated.
As he run, voices from echoed around him.
‘You should probably give it up.’
‘It's my fault...’
‘how can you even stand in the same ring as me?’
‘unless I try...’
‘Kacchan!’
‘it’s been my goal...’
‘I’ll do my best!’
‘He saves everyone with a smile...’
The screen went dark. Midoriya narrated. ‘but at that moment...’
Midoriya looked at Bakugo and said in tears:”You looked like you were asking for help...”
All Might gasped. ‘Pathetic...pathetic...’ he said over and over as he suddenly grew bigger and stronger.
“Don't get in my way!” the villain whipped towards him while all the heroes rushed forward to save the boy. “He'll die in vain! Is he suicidal?!”
Something blew and a smoke covered the area.
Midoriya shielded his head and readied himself to the blow... and then opened his eyes as he realized it never came.
“I really am pathetic.”
Midoriya gasped as he saw All Might holding away the villain when the smoke  dispersed. “All Might...’
“Even though I admonished you, I wasn't putting what I said into practice!” the hero replied. By sheer force, he ripped his arms away from the sludge that tried to yank them in.
Midoriya looked at all might with bright eyes as the man shouted: “Pros are always risking their lives!” blood dripped from his mouth.
“All Might!” the villain cried and swung at him. All Might swung his own fist and yelled:”Detroit Smash!’
A wind blew, strong enough to make the villain fall apart and put away all the fires. All Might held the two kids with one arms so they won’t be blown away by the wind.
When the wind quieted, Everyone were staring at All Might who was steaming and panting.
For a moment, no one said a thing.
Then a person in the crowed noticed something,”huh?”
“Rain?” a woman asked as drops started falling from the sky.
“Don't tell me it's from the wind pressure just now?”
Midoriya and Bakugo lied on the floor, looking at the cloudy sky above them.
“He made clouds...?” Death Arm wondered as All Might wiped the blood from his mouth corner. “So All Might have been fighting like this for years...when he was in this state...” said Todoroki.
Tumblr media
“And Midoriya was the only one who knew.’’ Said Iida.
“Not just Midoriya,” said Aizawa. “Ever since he started teaching at UA, the entire teacher faculty knew as well, along with a few chosen people.”
“Why has he kept that a secret?” asked Hagakure.
“This ridiculous man made himself a goal of being the symbol of peace. Perfect, Untouchable, Invulnerable. If he revealed that weakness, the symbol would be tainted and villains and criminals undoboutly will take advantage on this situation.”
All Might got up and his theme music started playing. The moment of shock has passed as everyone cheered. “With just his right fist, he changed the weather!”
“That’s amazing!”
“That’s All Might for you!”
No one noticed as his foot stumbled a little before he raised his fist in his familiar victory pose, smiling.
Current-Midoriya narrated: ‘,After this, heroes collected he scattered sludge,,and safely delivered it to the police.’
“Jeez, there's a limit to how rash you can be!” scolded Death-Arms.
“Oh, you have no idea.” Uraraka giggled.
“There was absolutely no reason for you to put yourself in danger!”
'I got majorly scolded by the heroes, but Kacchan was praised.’
“This is so unfair...” Sero grumbled.
"That was amazing toughness! And that Quirk! Once you're a pro, please come to my agency! You'll definitely be an excellent sidekick!” Bakugo listened to the praise but wasn’t seemed pleased.
After the mess was cleaned, the scene changed to a sad Midoriya walking slowly home. The narrator said: 'I wanted to apologize to All Might, but he was still getting interviewed...I'll try sending him a message on his website when I get home.’
“Deku!”
He stopped as he heard a familiar voice. He turned around.
“Kacchan...?” He asked as the blonde boy run to his direction.
“I hope he’s here to say thank you and sorry.” said Sato.
“The day Bakugo says either of those things will be the day I will eat my fancy hat collection.” replied Kaminari.
“Why do you have a fancy hat collection again?” Asked Jiro.
“I am allowed to have hobbies, Jiro!”
Bakugo panted for a few seconds, then clenched his fists and said, “I never asked for help! and you didn’t help me! Got it?!”
“Oh, come on!” Sato booed.
“Told you.” Kaminari said.
“I was fine by myself. ,You're a Quirkless failure playing without a full deck! Don't think you can look down on me! Are you trying to make me owe you?”
Uraraka facepalmed,:”why is he like this.”
Tsuyu concluded:”Bakugo seems to have troubles with showing any form of vulnerability, by accepting help from anyone, especially Midoriya, he thinks he’s showing weakness.”
“Don't look down on me! You damn nerd!” Bakugo yelled an then stomped away.
“It seems like you’re right, Mon amie, I wonder what made Bakugo adopt this world view?” said Aoyama.
Midoriya watched him leave, confused. ‘"Toughness"...’ he thought.
He sighed and then smiled sadly. ‘,It's just as Kacchan said. It's not like I accomplished anything, or changed anything. But, I'm glad.’ ”Midoriya is a good person.” Koda said quietly. “I am glad he’s in UA.”
‘Now I can think of a realistic future...’ he turned around and started walking again when someone shouted.
“I AM HERE!”
Midoriya screamed as All Might passed him quickly and blocked his way.
“A-All Might?! Why are you here? You were surrounded by reporters until just now...” The hero laughed and posed, “Getting away from them was a piece of cake. Why?” he asked, then answered his own question. “Because I am All Migh-” The speech got cut off as All Might spitted blood and turned back into his skinny form, making Midoriya scream yet again.
After coughing and wiping his mouth, All Might started again, his television personality gone with his muscles:” Young man. I come with thanks, a correction, and a suggestion. If you hadn't been there...If you hadn't told me about your life...,I would've turned into a guy in a bodysuit who was all talk. Thank you.” “That can't be...”Midoriya protested. “It was my fault in the first place.I got in the way of your work, and I said all those impertinent things even though I'm Quirkless...”
“That's right. It was because it was none other than the timid, Quirkless you at the scene that I was able to act.” Midoriya’s mouth opened in shock as he took in the pro’s words. “Top heroes have stories about them from their school days. Most of their stories have one thing in common: Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think.” Midoriya’s eyes brighten.
His face twisted, his hands moved to his chest and his knees trumbled.
‘For some reason,I remembered my mother's words.’ Said the narrator.
‘I'm sorry, Izuku! I'm sorry. I'm sorry!’ Midoriya bited his lips and cried as he remembered.
“That was true for you, too, wasn't it?” Asked All Might.
Midoriya broke, sobbing, ”Yeah...”
‘That's not it, Mom. Back then, what I wanted you to say...The words I wanted to hear were...’
The boy kneeled down, face covered in tears.
All Might watched him with a serious face, as wind dramatically blew his hair in front of the setting sun.
He then said the words Midoriya wanted to hear so badly: “You can become a hero.”
Midoriya cried even harder.
Dramatic music played.
‘Dreams can become reality.’
Tumblr media
'By the way, I forgot to mention that this is the story of how I became the greatest hero’ The episode ended.
“The greatest hero?” asked Shoji.
Uraraka shrugged, ”I can believe that.”
“This explains so much but I somehow have even more questions than before!” Said Ashido.
“Do you think any of this really happened?” asked Sero.
“I don’t know if it will be weirder if it’s real or if it isn’t.” said Hagakure.
“So that’s why All Might and Midoriya are so close.” said Todoroki.
“That was...so freaking manly” said Kirishima as he wiped his tears.
“Who knew a show about Midoriya can be so good?” asked Mineta.
“When it’s all ends I will have to lay down and question everything for a while.” Said Jiro and the rest made sounds of agreement.
The next episode was about to start and no one even thought to suggest not to watch it.

“Mt. La-”
“Holy shit,  are you watching the news?”  No honorifics, no ‘senpai’, no small talk.  Alarm bells started to go off in Kamui’s head.
“No- didn’t I tell you I was-”
“Turn it on, right now.”   The shaky note in Mt. Lady’s voice froze him in his tracks.
Kamui Woods was having a nice day until Mt. Lady called to tell him hero society was crashing down around them. Again.
Team Edgeshot + Best Jeanist watch the news coverage on Endeavor and Hawks' battle with High-End.
my first real contribution to the bnha fandom :,)
(Gen, G, fic beneath the cut)
Kamui took a deep, cleansing breath of the forest air.  He had only been walking down the path for a few minutes, but just being surrounded by forest, seeing trees instead of the familiar skyline of his precinct, was soothing.  Another half-mile in, and he would be out of cell service, and away from the reach of the world.  He could already feel the weight of the past weeks lifting from his shoulders.
Until his phone began to buzz.
He almost ignored it.  The responsibilities of his new ranking and unstable times made stints in the wild more and more difficult to justify, more and more irresponsible.  Because of that, the time he spent reconnecting with the forest that had been his only real home for so long had been whittled down to once a week, and then once a month, and currently was sitting at ‘the rare moments when nothing was in the process of collapsing and nothing was threatening to’.  This was a rare escape.
But it might be Edgeshot.  He was a man of few words, but when he had something to say, it was usually important.  And despite their team-up, Kamui couldn’t shake the lingering feeling he had failed Edgeshot- failed everyone, really- when he had let the League of Villains slip through his lacquered prison.
He pulled out his phone, and was met by a familiar incandescent smile plastered across his screen.  Mt. Lady had set her own contact image- insisted on it- when they had teamed up, so he had to endure her marketing whenever she called him.  Which was often.
He almost ignored it, on principle, but he couldn’t quite ignore the lingering tweek of his conscience.
“Mt.
He’d never heard her so serious before, not even after Kamino.  He turned back towards the edges of the forest and started walking.  Mt. Lady could be excitable, self-centered, and vain, but she was no coward.
As he walked, he heard Mt. Lady make a little exclamation of horror on the other side of the phone.  “What is it?  What’s happening?” he asked, fumbling with the news app on his phone.  Even after years of living in civilization, he still had a bit of trouble with technology.
“Those… those Nomu things… from Kamino,” Mt. Lady said, her voice hushed.  “The ones… he… was making…”
“What?”  The dark seed of the fears that had taken root in Kamui’s chest that night in Kamino reared their its head again.  All for One.  In one fell swoop, their society had lost its greatest hero, and Kamui’s convictions about himself and his place in society had been shaken to the core.  Unable to do anything but watch the League of Villains slip from his grasp, unable to secure the kid’s safety, unable to come in time to save Mt. Lady and Jeanist and the others from harm, and helpless in front of the sheer horror of power that was All for One.
“Endeavor… and Hawks…” Mt. Lady said, but the news stream had finally loaded.  Kamui stared in horror as a creature, far more twisted and strange than the horrors they had dredged from All for One’s laboratory, dragged their number one hero through a building.
Suddenly, the woods around him did nothing for his peace of mind.
Mt. Lady’s hands curled around the phone, well-manicured nails scraping against the service as she stared at the television.
It had been shaping up to be an uneventful day, with Kamui out communing with nature and Edgeshot doing… whatever Edgeshot did when he wasn’t on duty.  Alone in their hero office, without any pressing matters on hand, Mt. Lady had been planning to put her feet up, order a pizza, and watch tv until someone called for her.
But as she soon as she flipped on the tv, she was met with a maelstrom of fire and debris.  And two familiar figures in the middle of it, looking much smaller than they had ever seemed in real life.
Instantly, the destruction, and the strange, twisted Nomu wrecking it brought her back to Kamino, lying dazed in the aftermath of the blast that could have killed her.  Would have killed her, if it hadn’t been for Jeanist’s reflexes.
She stared, glued to the television as the two heroes fought the monstrosity.  For a few heart-pounding moments, she might as well have been back in Kamino, with how her chest tightened and the same blinding, crushing dread crashed down on her, pinning her to the couch and rendering her unable to move- again- as the horror unfolded before her eyes.
And then she’d pried herself out of her own ass, checked Endeavor and Hawks’ location- too far away to be of any immediate use- and called Kamui.
“That creature,” he breathed.  “It’s far beyond the capabilities of the Nomus you and the others captured in Kamino.”
The sound of her teammate’s voice, even if he was just as perturbed as her, calmed Mt. Lady a little.  Forced her to gather herself.  It would be no good to fall apart in front of Kamui; he would tease her ruthlessly for it the next time their rivalry came up.  She pursed her lips.  “Yeah.  Well, I mean, the ones we captured were, like… deactivated?  Or something.  I don’t know.  They were gross, but not any threat.”  A sick feeling crawled up into her throat as she watched the creature fly across the television screen, its flesh rippling strangely with every beat of its arm-like wings, before it opened and poured more, pale, writhing Nomus onto the streets below.  Hawks was a tiny, almost frail figure, darting among them, like a raptor among elephants.  One blow would be all it took.
Kamui exhaled.  “I had hoped this was over.”
“We knew it wasn’t,” Mt. Lady snapped.  “We hardly won, last time.  Don’t tell me you forgot just because you didn’t end up in the hospital.”
And now, without All Might…  She cut the thought off.  That was defeatist talk, not the sort of thing that got a hero into the top ten.  Or even twenty-third place.  All Might was the older generation; she and Kamui were the newbies, smashing onto the scene, undefeatable.  The only people who could get in their way were each other.
… At least, that was how it had been before Kamino.
They were quiet for a few heartbeats, watching the fight unfold.  Watching the press of civilians fleeing the scene, terror written across their features.  It was a far cry from the cheerful spectators of villains fights just a few months back.
“It’s chaos,” Kamui breathed.
“I’m not sure they can win,” Mt. Lady said.
“If they can’t…”  before Kamui could finish the thought, Mt. Lady heard a beep on his end.  “One moment.  Edgeshot’s calling.  I’m adding him to the call.”
‘Sensei!” Mt. Lady’s voice burst through the phone.
“Edgeshot-sensei.”  Kamui’s voice followed a moment later, more restrained, but fearful all the same.  “I trust you’ve been following the news.”
Edgeshot leaned back against the rickety hospital chair, exchanging a look with Jeanist.  Honestly, much like Kamui, on his days off he preferred solitude, and to be as cut off from the outside world as possible; it was one of the reasons he guarded his civilian identity so closely.  Even now, visiting another hero who he trusted and considered a friend, he was wrapped from head to toe in concealing garments.  If he hadn’t been paying a visit to Best Jeanist, who probably found it physically painful to not have his hand on the pulse of the country, he might not have heard the news nearly so fast.
“Of course,” he said, switching the phone to speaker so Jeanist could hear his team as well.  The two of them turned back to the television in the far wall, watching the Nomu wreck havoc on Hawk’s city.
“There’s no way we could help them?  No one has a quirk that could get us there?” Mt. Lady said.
“None I can think of,” Edgeshot said, exchanging a look with Jeanist.   Recovery Girl had done her best- without her, Jeanist would have almost certainly have died- but after three months convalescence, Edgeshot’s friend was still far from mended from the injuries he had sustained at Kamino.  It would be a while yet before he would be fit to step back onto the stage.
Jeanist’s eyes narrowed, his long fingers clenching into frustrated fists over the hospital sheets.  Edgeshot sympathized; having to sit on the sidelines and watch the cracks in the foundations of their society spread, effectively helpless, couldn’t have been easy.
Well, now they were both in that position.  Again.  The spector of All Might’s fight with All for One rose in Edgeshot’s mind.
On the screen, a maelstrom of fire exploded from Endeavor.  For a moment, hope leapt into Edgeshot’s throat as the Nomu’s flesh was incinerated in the blast.
“Yes, Endeavor!” Mt. Lady called, laughing with relief.
Her laughter died a moment later, when the little dark mass of flesh that had fallen from the Nomu’s form writhed and spread, regenerating into.. Into.. the creature itself, unescathed.
A moment later, blood sprayed outwards as the Nomu struck, and Endeavor fell.
Edgeshot swore.
Jeanist sat up straighter, leaning forward as if to try to confirm what he was seeing.  After a moment, the news cut away, to more shots of the frantic crowd, fleeing the wreckage.
“The fabric of society is unravelling,” Jeanist said, quietly, leaning back against the headboard of the bed.  His face had gone several shades paler than the unhealthy shade it had already been.
Edgeshot couldn’t disagree.
“Uhm…” Mt. Lady’s voice crackled through the phone again.  “If Endeavor and Hawks bite it, will that make Edgeshot-sensei number one?”
Edgeshot sat up, eyes widening.  He hadn’t even thought about it; he’d been too horrified by the fight to think beyond it.  He didn’t want to think about it.  But… Endeavor was down, and if the Nomu got Hawks, too…
“No, because Best Jeanist is still number three,” Kamui answered.  “I know you don’t like him, but-”
“I like Jeanist!” Mt. Lady protested.  “He saved my life!  I thanked him, and everything!”
Faintly, Edgeshot realized he’d not made any mention of where he was, who he was with, or the fact he’d put his teammates on speakerphone.  Luckily, Best Jeanist seemed too absorbed by the scene to have any other reaction other than looking grimly amused.
Her tone grew serious.  “But… he’s not in any condition to fill All Might’s shoes.”
“Neither is Endeavor, apparently.”
“Quiet,” Edgeshot snapped, and instantly his teammates shut up.
“They’re right,” Jeanist said softly, still staring at the wreckage onscreen.  “If we loose Endeavor and Hawks so soon after Kamino…”  He shook his head.  “I don’t think either of us could pick up the slack, not even if I was in fighting trim.”
Edgeshot wanted to argue, but he couldn’t find the words.  Jeanist was right.  They had all felt it, that day in Kamino; their absolute uselessness against a force stronger than anything they had ever imagined.  It had stripped away all their notions of the safety they brought Japan.
Endeavor had been the only man who had even tried to come close to Allmight, and he was lying bleeding out on in the wreckage miles and miles away.
“Look!” Jeanist said suddenly, sitting up and pointing.  “There!”
A flash of fire on the screen.  Edgeshot heard Mt. Lady and Kamui gasp in unison.
“Endeavor!”
He rose like flaming beacon in the sky, aloft on Hawks’ wings.  Burning.

Do you have an (unranked?) opinion/hc on who will be in the top 10 for heroes in the future? I guess taking into account the current younger heroes (like Hawks, Ryukyu, Miruko, Mt Lady, Kamui Woods, etc)? Oh and the other schools/grades?
Not really, tbh? My main opinion on this is still that when all’s said and done by the time the kids will be pro heroes the ranking won’t be a thing anymore, so I never really thought much about who would be in the top ten after they graduate... there’s also how the ranking seems to change a lot and often aside from the very top spots, so making an accurate guess there is hard also because at which point in time would this ranking be set, anyway? Maybe one year you have Baku at the top and the next Deku, maybe you get Tokoyami and Inasa in the top five and two rankings later they aren’t even in the top ten, it’s really too volatile a thing to make an accurate guess
As things stand I’m of the opinion that Todo Baku Deku and Kiri might be on their way to be the top four of UA by the time they reach third year, like Mirio and the rest are the Big Three, but once outside, in the official rankings... of course they have a shot at placing high, but then there’s the big three themselves, and a lot of 1B kids who seem seriously good, and of course Momo and Tokoyami and Tsuyu and Iida between the 1A kids as well... then yeah there’s Inasa who’s obviously pretty damn OP, and Shindou seems set to place high as well, and that’s just the students? There’s Hawks, there’s Miruko, there’s Kamui, and then Endeavour, of course, he’s been holding his place since he was barely in his twenties I doubt he’ll leave any time soon, and Best Jeanist and Edgeshot too
I dunno, there’s just too many possibilities to make an accurate guess
