Laituritarvikkeet

Laiturin viimeistelyssä käytetään monenlaisia laituritarvikkeita. Viimeistely voi liittyä normaaliin käyttöön kuten uimaportaat, turvallisuuteen kuten köysikaide tai puinen kaide, visuaaliseen viimeistelyyn kuten myrskylyhty, tai veneen kiinnitykseen kuten pollarit ja ankkurointilenkit.

Yleisin laituritarvike lisävaruste on uimaportaat. Niitä on monenlaisia: taittuvia jotka pysyvät jäiden liikkeiltä turvassa, perusmallin kiinteitä uimatikkaita, tai uimaportaat voi tehdä myös puusta. Hyvät uimaportaat ovat tarkoitusta palvelevat, turvalliset ja tukevat.

Toinen käyttömukavuutta ja -turvallisuutta lisäävä laituritarvike on kaide. Kaiteen voi tehdä köydestä, puusta tai metallista. Helppo ja kaunis kaiden syntyy pöyröhirsitolppiin kiinnitetystä köydestä. Köysikaide säilyttää laiturin kevyen visuaalisen ulkomuodon ja on perinteisesti merellisen tunnelmallinen.

Kesäillan hämärään näyttävä laituritarvike, tai -lisävaruste on myrskylyhty. Perinteinen lamppuöljyllä lepattava oikea tuli myrskylyhdyssä näyttää kauniilta heijastuessaan yöllä veden pinnasta. Lyhty laitetaan koukkupidikkeeseen, joka kiinnitetään tolpan tai kepin nokkaan.

Veneen kiinnitykseen käytetään laituripollareita. Niitä saa mm. Puuilosta ja venetarvikeliikkeistä. Pitkospuun laiturissa on myös pyöröhirsitolpat joita voi käyttää köysien kiinnitykseen.

1. favourite place in your country? most of them are in my current hometown (helsinki) - my favourite library, swimming spots, the cat café, my school... the places in other cities are mostly related to my grandparents on either side, such as my grandma’s childhood home and my grandparents’ house and the lake nearby. i think those kinds of feelings are pretty universal. 13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders? oh there are a LOT! many of them are shared with sweden/the rest of the nordic countries. for example superstitions that have to do with holidays, like collecting flowers to put under your pillow on midsummer’s eve (so you’ll dream of your future spouse), or putting an almond in the christmas morning porridge (the one who finds it gets to make a wish). i’m personally really superstitious (and incidentally also rly into folklore), so i abide by some beliefs on the daily. for example i never whistle in or near a graveyard and i recite offerings to nature spirits before swimming/going to the woods. feel kinda silly talking about it but it’s true! and finland has really unique and interesting folklore/old beliefs (i think that’s why i got into it in the first place).28. does your country have a lot of lakes, mountains, rivers? do you have favourites? we have SO many lakes! the most lakes of any country, actually (apparently canada might have more bc of sheer size but they haven’t ‘registered’ as many as us). mountains not so much, which makes me really sad. :( my favourite lake is kallavesi near my grandparents’ house, and my favourite river is the vuoksi. but i like the sea the most! 🌊
