ΑΒΡΑΣΑΞ -- ABRASAX From a Hermetic Viewpoint.
Tumblr media
To the Gnostics, Abrasax is the great archon who created the whole world. There is quite a bit of nuance considering how Basilides Gnosticism views this deity. Nuance that I am not qualified to go over at the moment. Carl Jung refers to Abrasax as a truly terrible entity that encompasses all evil and all good, in his Red Book. I've seen negative reactions from people on Discord to this entity, but also some positive reactions.
But to the Hermeticist…who and what is this weird rooster head, snake-legged deity that is found all throughout the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM)? Let’s find out?
In the Discourse of the Ogdoad and Ennead (D89) we are given strings of vowels and nomina Barbara for the Hermetic student, namely Tat as he is being taught by Hermes. To Christian H. Bull in his The Tradition of Hermes Trismégistōs, the string of Greek vowels and nomina Barbara/voces magicae is the totality of the Kosmos. Tat asks to receive the imprint of fullness by ways of hymns of praise to God. Bull seems to agree with Alberto Camplani that the “imprint of Fullness (Pleorma)” is coded within these string of vowels and voces magicae.
From personal experiences — I have to agree with this, but I had to fuck around and find out for myself as I read this book many months ago when vowels and voces magicae were not big in my praxis. Anyways, here is the full hymn:
Tumblr media
Great! So how does this tie into ΑΒΡΑΣΑΞ and what is this names value to a Hermeticist? For starters — This name, has a numerical value of 365, according to isopsephy. 365, as the majority of you know, is the totality of days our Earth revolves around the Sun. In PGM VIII. 1-63, specifically in lines 45-50… we see a love spell invoking Hermes to which we are given the name of ABRASAX equaling 365 explicitly, and quite possibly a voces magicae for Hermes.
The Sun's importance in Hermeticism is ever-present. Most explicit in my opinion is SH 2a from M. David Litwa’s Hermetica II:
Tumblr media
Also important to note: Thoth. Many believe Thoth is just the god of the Moon, yet Thoth has a Solar form: the Baboon. Baboons and their screeches are believed to be connected to the language of the gods. This is confirmed in the Demotic Book of Thoth. Where a scribe of Thoth’s Scribal College: The House of Life [𓉑], says this about the great teacher, Thoth: "The signs revealed their form. He called to them and they answered to him. He knew the form of speech of the baboons and the ibises." Thoth is also believed to be the creator of not just words and language but also vowels (Philebus 18b-c). For clarity's sake, Thoth is an extremely important figure in Hermeticism. Our teachings are based upon a syncretic god: Hermes & Thoth — Hermēs Trismégistōs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More evidence for the importance of ΑΒΡΑΣΑΞ is found in PGM XIII.1-343 — the famed Heptagram Rite, which we can perform more clearly and neatly here. This is a ritual that invokes Aiōn. Aiōn is believed to be the power of the Unknowable, Ineffable Godhead in Corpus Hermeticum XI. In lines 80-89 of PGM XIII, we are given voces magicae to Aiōn in 7 different languages as seen below.
(The voces magicae for Aiōn is continued in 'Falconic' and lastly hieratic languages). Thus, we can see a clear link to baboons and Thoth, the name Abrasax to the baboons, and their "language." We see a connection between Aiōn and Abrasax, and we also saw above in PGM VIII that it could also be used as a voces magicae to Hermes!
But let’s look at the imagery as well. A rooster head with snake legs. The legs, to me, are Chthonic of course, and curl up to shape an Ω, the seventh sphere, Saturn. The connection to Omega is something Christian H. Bill points out. The rooster is also a Solar animal. So to me, we have a beautiful image representing the totality of All Things from the Sun whose an image of Truth, directly subordinate to the One Primal Deity (SH 2a), down to the Du’at/Underworld. Both Hermes and Thoth are connected to the Underworld as well as the Sun. Hermes' planet, Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Hermes is also famously known as a psychopomp, a traveler and mediator between Hades and Mount Olympus, Death and Life. Thoth, with His solar connections stated above, is also a key member of the Ancient Egyptian Underworld. In the Ani Papyrus, we see Thoth as the recorder/scribe that lists every heart that is weighed up against the Divine Feather of Truth -- Ma'at.
Tumblr media
Thus what we have here, from a Hermetic standpoint, is that Abrasax is not a malevolent archon or a demon as denoted by the early Catholic Church, but rather a beautiful deity that is worthy of reverence whose name equals our revolution around the Sun, the Image of God. Abrasax — a name that is connected to both Hermes and Thoth, for reasons stated above. A name that also has a connection to Aiōn, an extremely important power/god in Corpus Hermeticum XI.
That is my interpretation, from a Hermetic standpoint. There are many interpretations of this elusive yet captivating deity. Abrasax can be a voces magicae for Hermes, or for Aiōn, it can be what I said, or you can take the Gnostic approach, or Jung, or Catholic approach to Abrasax. Regardless of what you do with the information, I shall continue to raise my voice in jubilation and cry out:
ΧΑΙΡΕ ΑΒΡΑΣΑΞ !

Hi! May I ask which are some good super starter or basic grimoires? I tried Agrippa and just...it didn't go in...i have the Picatrix but I honestly think I'll just get the same result, it's way above my head. Is there anything simple i might "get" or should I honestly just accept it's not for me and move on? Thank you!
Hey, so I have this post right here that goes over why no grimoire that's worth learning from with the intent to practice it through is going to be classified as beginner/starter/etc. So I'm not going to rehash that part.
As for "getting" Agrippa, I think it's important to remember that it's an encyclopedia. As such, when you're beginning to explore grimoires, it's best to use it as a reference book. Can you use Agrippa as the foundation of your own practice? Yes, but unless you're already familiar with occult concepts and topics, it might require far more than one or two surface readings to fully digest what it's talking about.
So since it sounds like you're newer to grimtrad circles, I have a few books that I think might help build that foundation without all the dense walls of text and jargon to read through (though please bear in mind that I struggle to remember what is/not common knowledge even in mundane matters, so if some of these are a bit trickier to navigate, feel free to blame it on my incompetence):
A Deed Without A Name by Lee Morgan (staple)
Conjuring Spirits by Miller (Miller's work is v good)
The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish (read critically, don't accept everything blindly)
The Hermetic & Alchemical Writings of Paracelsus - Waite & Paracelsus (denser)
Magic, Witchcraft, and Ghosts in Greek and Roman Worlds
Elucidation of Necromancy
Celestial Intelligences by Kaminsky (denser)
Wortkunning
Some books that I worked with or through that seem easy enough to bring to real life application, with the right dedication and mindset:
The 6th & 7th Books of Moses
The Sworn Book of Honorius
The Book of Oberon
Seven Spheres & Gateways: Through Stone and Circle (1 book) & Through Light and Shadow (different book) - best combo, anyone can practice these really
Keys of Solomon & Grimorium Verum & Secrets of Solomon - solid combo
The Goetia of Dr. Rudd (a particular fave)
The Complete Mystical Records of Dr. John Dee (learn a bit of Latin first or have a solid translator on deck)
Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) & Greek and Egyptian Magical Formularies & Techniques of Greco-Egyptian Magic - best combo, imo
Orphic Hymns Grimoire & The Hekatæon & Tartaros - another good combo
The 32 Keys
Azoëtia & The Black Dragon series
Book of St. Cyprian
I think it's worth mentioning that reading more is a great way to broaden your awareness of occult concepts and topics. If you look at how things are considered across different dedicated areas of study, then you're more likely to understand the foundations of said thing. One perspective is very limiting. It's better to seek out multiple. By reading from the first list, which should give a pretty solid introductory to broad concepts, and then sifting through the grimoires mentioned, you should be able - through applying yourself properly to the task - gain an understanding of how these things may function/interact in a living tradition, and then through applying them yourself gain the practical knowledge of how they actually are.
And as a closing note: I would personally recommend leaving behind the idea that you're supposed to "get" occult books. You study from them, you learn what you can from them, and through implementing what they speak of and experimenting with what interests you, you acquire that knowledge plus your own discovered knowledge and heightened awareness. In this way, you'll come to realize why I refer to my engagement with the occult as a study and practice.
Of course, if none of this was helpful, you can feel free to disregard my input here as the ramblings of a twenty-something nobody. Have a good one!

Salut. A long time ago you recommended Seven Spheres by Rufus Opus in a reading list, but only very recently I was able to actually read it.
I send this ask hoping that maybe you'd be comfortable sharing your experience with the rituals of the book. The author presents the planetary initiation in such a dramatic reality-altering process that I find it a bit hard to put my faith in it at times, so again, if it's okay by you, I'd love to hear your experiences with it.
If I were to be frank, I didn’t follow the instructions exactly as per Rufus Opus’ writing. Although to be fair,I honestly can’t seem to recall instances where I’ve ever performed any ritual exactly as written (aside from certain rites from the Greek Magical Papyri), so this isn’t Opus’ fault or anything. As someone who works extensively with the planets and stars in my practice, I can say that Opus’ rituals are theoretically sound and should provide good results. There are just some things I prefer to change about the rituals. So, what I’ve done is take the concept behind Opus’ workings and devised rituals of my own.
In other words, I think Opus’ rituals can be life changing if you adapt it to suit whatever paradigm you’re working from rather than doing things by the book. For example, some things I changed is that I used hymns from the Picatrix rather than the just the Orphic Hymns. As a witch with a Patron who rules over the night and the stars, I also found it much easier to include Him in the ritual rather than following the original script which calls upon just Christ who I respect but hold no allegiance to.
It should also be noted too that the AOTH ABRAOTH BASYM ISAK SABAOTH IAO section of Opus’ script is directly lifted from the Headless Rite of the Greek Magical Papyri. I don’t know why Opus didn’t explain how he adapted that from the PGM and his reasonings, but I can assure you too that the Headless Rite is incredibly effective in many uses.
But to directly answer your question: even though I can’t claim to have done Opus’ rituals as written, I can confirm via my knowledge and experience with planetary magic that Opus’ ritual are theoretically sound and should provide results. I have taken the backbones of Opus’ method and adapted them for my own needs. It is my take that any intentional and direct engagement with the planets when done properly can be life changing.
This is because planets are gods, if one is approaching planetary work from a perspective of astrolatry rather than pure, planetary magic without any faith involve. Surely you must’ve heard tales of how working with, let’s say, Hekate have changed people’s lives. It’s the same with planets, especially if you approach them asking them to “initiate” you. In this case, the planets will often cause you to lose things in their sphere which does not serve you (Venus breaking off certain friendships or relationships in your life, Jupiter causing you to change jobs etc).
And it is this point that I wish to promote my pamphlet detailing my workings with Venus and an angel of Venus here: https://www.hadeanpress.com/shop/venus-as-mother
Planets can and do cause upheavals in your life.
Thus, I would recommend that — if you don’t already have an established practice in sorcery or planetary magic — you try one of Opus’ rituals as written and see how it goes. The rituals are exceedingly simple, requiring not much materia nor time. There really isn’t much to lose (unless you somehow manage to offend a planet but that’s beside the point). Then, play around with the ritual structure and personalize it to you.

4 questions anon here: thank you so much! I've done background reading on religion and was looking for something more specific. I've also done plenty of reading on magic of other cultures, as well as some on the PGM (as well as reading their English translations—really cool stuff), and the Ritner book looks great, especially since I'm looking for the specifics of spells.
That's fine, as long as you know what you're getting into then you're all good! I get a lot of people just try to pick up the most difficult parts straight away, and then become annoyed or full of so many questions, most of which could have been answered if they'd taken some time to consider what they were getting into rather than assuming they could just do it straight off the bat lmao

DECK AWARDS - 2022
TAROT EDITION
These are my favorite tarot decks I purchased this year. Most were also released this year, though a few were not.
MOST VERSATILE TAROT DECK
THE TAROT OF THE GREEK MAGICAL PAPYRI
Tumblr media
This deck does it all. It's a tarot deck, contains cards to create an oracle deck with the deity cards, functions as a Homeric oracle, and contains charms and spells from the PGM should you be inclined to use them. The deck also has a fantastic "LWB" that isn't so little. It's very in-depth and explains the choices behind each card's imagery and where to find the spells for the featured talismans in the PGM.

BEST ANIMAL THEMED TAROT
THE LOAF TAROT
Tumblr media
This tarot deck was the result of a Kickstarter and let me tell you, the art is SO CUTE. All of the artists involved did an amazing job. The bright colors make it feel like a spiritual successor to all those Lisa Frank products I loved as a kid.

BEST INDIE DECK
THE FANTÔME TAROT
Tumblr media
This deck has beautiful art that reminds me of mid-century modern architecture and photos of Las Vegas from the 60s. I don't know if the artist was going for the neon look, but it's definitely one of the most beautiful details in the deck. It's mostly a RWS clone, but some images are definitely original to the deck.

CUTEST DECK
PYTHIA TAROT
Tumblr media
Do you want chibi Hellenic gods and scenes from ancient life? Look no further than the Pythia Tarot! This adorable deck is perfect for beginners and those who love Greek mythology! One of the highlights of this deck is the INCREDIBLE card back design. It's so elegant and even has just a touch of metallic gold. This deck also features a few extra cards, as well as an alternate strength card. I like to use both versions of Strength, since one conveys physical strength, and the other mental/magical.

BEST MINI TAROT
BRITT'S 3RD EYE TAROT
Tumblr media
This deck's portability can't be beat! The tin case makes sure the cards are protected from things in your purse! It's also great for use when you want to be more discreet or don't have a lot of room for a reading. The art features vibrant and adorable illustrations which easily get the meaning of the card across, making it great for beginners!

Where to Buy: Available in multiple places, including Etsy and Amazon.
MINI DECK RUNNER UP
THE FLOWER MOVEMENT TAROT
Tumblr media
I wanted to give this deck a shout out as well. The art is absolutely gorgeous; so gorgeous that I think it actually suffers from its small card size. The cards are also tall and thin, which, combined with their small size, can make shuffling awkward. Finally, the box they come in is MUCH larger than the cards themselves, which hurts its portability. This deck is also from China and its LWB is entirely in Chinese. Otherwise, this deck is fantastic quality! Definitely recommend if you can find a copy!
MOST UNUSUAL DECK
CLOAK MAJOR ARCANA
Tumblr media
I have to say, this deck isn't really my style, but when I heard @markiplier's Cloak brand was putting out some tarot cards, I had to take a look. These cards feel both mystical and sometimes humorous - heh get it? Because they're skeletons? *Badum-tss* The gold guilding on both sides is also a wonderful touch that really makes this deck stand out.

Where to Buy: This was a limited Cloak release and is no longer available.
MOST BEAUTIFUL ART
MONSOON TAROT
Tumblr media
This is the collector's version of the deck which features beautiful holographic silver guilding on the card edges. I cannot praise this deck's art enough. The artist cited Japanese illustration as a major inspiration for the art of The Monsoon Tarot, and I wouldn't be surprised if Studio Ghibli was a huge component of that. There are so many cards with that same charm Ghibli is known for, with a dreamlike twist and childlike wonder. It's great for beginners, but there are tiny details that experienced readers will appreciate. My second favorite deck purchased this year!
Cardstock: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Shuffling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Guilded Cards?: ❌
Guilded Edges?: ✅
Beginner Friendly?: ✅
System: RWS
Where to Buy: This deck was Kickstarted, but many copies of all three versions (normal, collectors, and mini) are available on Etsy by searching "Monsoon Tarot."
BEST DECK OF 2022
THE ROMAN TAROT
Tumblr media
This deck just scratches all the right places for me. I'm more into Religio Romana (but I also do some Hellenic practices as well). It also hits some of the things I really love learning about when it comes to Roman history, #1 of which is Pompeii and Vesuvius (featured on this deck's version of the tower, The Volcano). It's also just a neat look into both Roman religion and everyday life. The art is also really cool. Each card's illustration was a physical painting before it was a card, and the colors reflect the pigments available to painters in Ancient Rome.

the bibliomancy readings from the green mysteries sounds so cool, as someone who's saving up for the book right now i'd love one if you feel up to it :-0c i don't have any particular questions, just a general one is fine. also, this is just me being nosy, but i adore the illustrations in his thirteen paths book - are there any cool ones in green mysteries, or ones you particularly like ?
Hello dear! I completely understand, the book is an expense! As most cultus sabbati books can be. I hope you are able to get your hands on a copy when the time is right and an affordable edition finds its way to you, as so often happens with these things.
For you, I pulled Flax. A plant used to bind the dead and banish bewitchment. Schulke shares a rite from the PGM entitled The Thessalian's Enquiry of a Corpse: A flax leaf is taken and upon it the words voces magicae are inscribed. Then, an ink of red ochre, burnt myrrh, juice of fresh wormwood, evergreen, and flax. This ink then writes upon the leaf AZEL BALEMACHO, and is placed into the corpses mouth prior to questioning.

About Me (For Twitter)
So for some odd reason, over 3000 of you knuckleheads decided to follow me. I reckon a new “about me” is in order then. I’ll never delve my name or face on socials. Just a personal preference. I’m 25 years old. Will be 26 in September 2023. I grew up in the southeastern part of the US and have lived all over my state. I am 2 years and 5 months sober from drug abuse. Technically I’m “California Sober,” meaning I still partake in the consumption of hashish oils (wax, dabs, or whatever the kids call them now). A lot of what I post and how I approach my walk with spirituality is heavily painted by my past from living as a drug addict. I got hooked on the dragon at age 18, but was already addicted to the lifestyle, fast money, and opiates & benzos from a very early age (age 14).
Essentially, I center my beliefs and praxis around the Corpus Hermeticum and other various Hermetic tractates. Though I’m also a syncretist and my beliefs and practice are highly unorthodox, to say the least. The core of my spiritual practice is meditation, exercise, theurgy, yoga, reciting aphorisms, and hymning to the gods of old. I worship Levanite Greco-Egyptian deities; I syncretize Asherah and Isis, YHWH and Amun, and worship many other gods and goddesses. I also dabble in the Arbatel and PGM often enough, but not so much since school started for me this summer. You could consider me a Platonic polytheist, a Hermeticist, or just a child of faith. The latter is what I prefer. I also venerate prophets and heroes. The main ones being Jesus Christ and Lao Tzu. Hermes Trismegistos is a whole other conversation. To me, he’s a god, a hero/prophet, and a master magician. I will not defend why I believe what I believe in this thread but I am happy to answer any questions on how or why I think what I believe.
I’m currently working my way through Iamblichus’s Platonic reading list. Currently on the Sophist. I also adhere to the Pythagorean idea that we do not need to escape or transcend this world but rather harmonize with it.  Also, I am getting more into Daoism these days. I am incorporating the Three Treasures into my theurgy/silent prayer. Eventually, I would like to become a disciple under a Daoist master and formally learn Daoism and its praxis and how that can benefit me and my understanding of myself, God, and everything in between. Also delving into Musashi Miyamoto’s philosophy, whose influence comes from Japanese Buddhism.
I also dabble in (capital S) Stoicism. So no, not the 1940s-1950s American trope of what a “stoic” man is. But this is not an apologetics thread for Stoicism. All I’ll say is that the philosophical school is highly misused and taken out of context to promote either nasty things or to completely misrepresent the philosophy negatively.
To the nazis, trans/homophobes, and “trads”:  This is not the page for yall. I believe race mixing is a great thing, and gender is a societal construct. I will not express any political beliefs or feelings other than to shit on the above-mentioned groups, and even then, most of the time, I’ll block that kind of crowd and not let them use my page as a platform to spread hate. I am apolitical. Recently had to renew my license, and I told them I do not want to register to vote. So, judge me how you will be based on that, I guess. I don’t police my followers, so if any of you good people see that I’m mutuals with someone that belongs to those above-mentioned groups, please kindly DM me and I’ll handle it. Meaning I’ll block the account. No drama, No BS, just cutting chaff from the wheat.
The content I post, are quotes from my readings, the ancient hymns I study, and dashingly long threads summarizing what I read, and just general esoteric rambles. I’m not afraid to be wrong or look ignorant anywhere I go on social media, so if you see a mistake in my rambles, quotes, or whatever, please kindly let me know! I love you all, and I hope we can all learn something from one another. Gods bless you all.

"The McCarthy Shill", Egregores, and the influence of different magical schools into the thinking
Tumblr media
This blog post was in regard to one of my friend's comment and him feeling pessimistic about it, he told me how "gods sucks, kabbalah is elitist. Don't matter how much I practice, someone gonna get the dream initiation cause they just meant for it. McCarthy shill is actually legit" I hope that this preceding quotation clears up the topic of why I am talking here or why I feel the need for talking about this considering that my friend is reading Quaeria's book right now.
I am someone who personally have his own reservations about the author and magic teacher Josephine McCarthy alongside her course Quareia. I am afraid the adage that says If you're not paying for the product, then you're the product , that's the case with Quaeria's course. I don't like beating around the bush but something to say from Jean Dubuis's essay "Group trips or Solo traveler" if we work in a group, or under the direction of a pseudo "master" or "guru" or through some mediumship we will only perceive the Astral. I hope that at least this clears up some concepts here. I personally recommend the work of Mouni Sadhu, G.O Mebes. Valentine Tomberg, and the french-russian tarot/occult school with their in-depth explanation of egregores and tarot concepts, Stavish in his book egregores talks about it passingly from the french russian school view, worth a read if you don't want to go down that rabbit hole. That's done...Back to the "McCarthy's Shill" a lot of stuff feels very general and "modular" and "not attached to any school". I mean that's what Quareia is about no? in Module 2, Lesson 1 you say
I (say your name), as an apprentice of the Quareia, ask that I begin the journey of the cup.” Why do you have to say that out loud? and she have weird stuff to say about getting practical results:
If you try to dodge that growth process through results magic, you will not only end up magically weak and ineffective, but you will also start to slide down the long slope of degeneracy as a magician. For example, I have been in magic for nearly forty years, and I have connections with magicians all over the world. I have yet to meet a long-term results magician who is not broke, lonely, sick, depressed and screwed up. They all do well for a small number of years… and then the backlash comes home to roost.
What about her own vision of Pentagram Ritual as she calls it(LBRP spin off) ?
Get out your notes from your astrology lesson and your work with the chart and the pentagram. Look up your planets again in relation to you standing in the centre of the chart/pentagram. Focus on the positions of Saturn and Pluto.
The full ritual is in module 2, lesson 3. Suffice to say, WHY WOULD YOU WORK WITH SATURN AND PLUTO in your pentagram ritual. It just sounds insane and don't get me started with her Arbatel or PGM takes. What do you get in the last lesson of Apprentice's lesson?
Remember, from now on, for the rest of your life, you have agreed to be judged in this life and to walk the path of the Mysteries.
She says it's not an oath, but...isn't it an oath since you said "I Agree" to the angel in the vision of the 81st lesson? One last thing to consider is that.. in one of her podcast she mentions that the magician is on the altar of greater force. ENOUGH McCarthy lol! that's the general message here, yes she have inner contacts but the forces she's in contact with might not be very suitable with everyone. I will ask you, do you want to learn your own life lessons or do you want her life lessons? A misconception some people have is that they have to force themselves to go through certain experiences to validate their beliefs that they're going on the right track. You don't need me, McCarthy, or anyone else to tell you that! You have your own life lessons, Josephine have some good stuff here and there, her technique works but clearly there's an agenda going on. Maybe not her..but something behind her pushing these ideals or thoughts. Visionary magic, it works but are you sure you want to get into contact with the "forces" that she got into contact with? I ended up making 60% or maybe 70% about bashing Quaeria and the course, but let's focus on something more important here. The author you read ,the books, the courses, the spirits, the land, etc all of that gathers up and add up. Take a step back and see how they affect you and how they affect the way you think about stuff. Really just look at each school, tradition, or even methods. Take a step back and think about the methods being pushed here and there, they all have their own preconceptions and ideas that are forced upon us willingly and unwillingly. What started in my thought of this blog to not give up on this or that, became more of an introspective of are you taking the right steps? are you doing the right thing? for who? for you. It is sometime comforting to just take people's insight, or take their views on stuff and work with them temporarily. Sometime people are overly skeptical of stuff and act like know-it-all and sometime people are too trusting of the authors or people who wrote stuff. I will borrow the word of someone( @HieraTechne ) in the hermetic house who said
a) Persevere, persist. b) It won't be pleasant, you will feel alone in the silence, but persevere, persist. c) It can help to treat your path as a Leap of Faith. Imagine yourself blindfolding your self, and making a step into the unknown. if you can't reward yourself with the content of the contact, reward yourself with your faith, your determination, your persisting. d) Stuff will happen beside seeing or hearing. e) You not seeing or hearing them doesn't mean they not hearing or seeing you. f) Do not be jealous of other people amazing or, from your perspective, even otherworldly experience. It will happen. Forgive yourself and go on. g) You will still have amazing experiences, just of a different grade. Learn to love what you have, and get the best out of it.
And that's 100% true, you don't need to have my experience or someone else who's naturally psychic's experience. I personally knew the difficult of spirit vision and visualization when I first started and couldn't wrap my head around it, just do the other stuff like petition, prayers, talismans, work in nature, work at home, invocations, etc. So it is with taking all of that consideration, don't give up. If it is a dream initiation you want, then dream incubation you must. If you keep going, praying, doing rituals, and all of that, it is heard. Keep going and it will be answered, just like R.O's Seven Sphere or Stavish's dream incubation through elements and planets. I ask that you pray to the planets, to gods, to the land, pray to them and for them. Pray to the divine, pray to the earth, just keep praying and applying yourself to the craft and you will make it. If anything, just like the sun goes down at night and die. So your aspiration shall be reborn like a blazing, strong, and powerful ray of solar flare in the morning. I believe in you, friend(s) <3 with all the efforts you put in I believe you will be rewarded. I hope my ramblings was helpful for someone who feel defeated or hopeless in regard to practice.

So I have rewatched the ENTIRETY of the Noob webserie and I changed my mind about a lot of things.
I used to hate the new seasons, after Arthéon's defeat and all the intrigues with the pro game master stuff, because I thought there was no more originality and it should've ended before but the problem isn't really that.
Though I still think it should've ended sooner, Noob's appeal has always been in its originality and the fact they were the first ever to make a series about a MMORPG. The universe, the characters, the lore is all amazing and I hate myself for thinking that originality was what was lacking in the newer seasons.
In fact, I think that what I miss the most are the interactions between the players and the actual environment : In the beginning, we had stuff like the quests, the dungeons, the TOUR GALAMADRIYABUYAK (is this the way it's spelt ?), which was a really fun way of telling the story of the characters without making said characters the center of the action. Now, what we mainly have are the players' interactions with OTHER players, and the game in all that is, sadly, a bit forgotten.
"Sadly", because as I've mentioned, we have found out throughout the years that Horizon is a complex game with lots of story to be told and discovered, but the characters we see in today's seasons, well, we're already very familiar with. (Except for characters like Heimdal or Amaras, like PLEASE give us some more background about them)
Some other characters, like ARTHÉON (fav character, well guessed), Dark Avenger, even SPARADRAP FOR GODS SAKE- or Ash, we don't see as often as before and for the latter, not at all anymore. I also very much hate this because even though all of them still have lots of things to be a part of, they've been reduced in the episodes -which is clearly because of the actors' unavailability.
This is another reason why I think the series should've ended sooner : while before, we kind of understood that some of the characters' actors were not as often available as before, now when I watch the series, it seems like it's been written only for the ones that can be present the most and less for the ones that cannot. This explains Rafale (?) and the PGM guild, this explains Kaulitz's unexpected death, this explains Sparadrap's sudden recruitment in the Fluxball league, you get it.
Now obviously, another thing that can be pointed out is the mf ACTING, but well. This is amateur, this is self produced, they are just a bunch of friends and family who have fun and this is not their jobs.
Except it is. For some of them. Not talking about Spark or Master Pong here, played by actual actors (even though I think padg could be better but well), but Fantöm is played by the guy who literally invented the whole mf Olydriverse, so idk but i'd EXPECT him to AT LEAST be a bit better ??? But this is heavily linked to how the script is written, so I don't think I'll take that into account. (isn't fantöms actor also the one who writes said script ? well.)
SO, all of this to say that Noob is a fucking great series on which I'm proud I changed my mind about. Hope I'll get to read the novels to the few problems I mentioned about the actors are like. Not present AND, ALSO, WHY IS THE FANDOM FUCKING DEAD PLEASE I'M GONNA CRY

I finished reading Eleni Pachoumi's The Concepts of the Divine in the Greek Magical Papyri yesterday and I am interested in proceeding to the next part of my PGM studies, which involves reading Jake Stratton Kent. I wanted to explore a demonological perspective of magic and paganism that I see as being contained within the PGM, inspired by Betz's introduction to the Papyri for months, and for me the work of Jake Stratton Kent was always going to be part of that exploration. The only thing is, I think it will be trickier to examine leads for my PGM notes the same way I did with my copy of the PGM and with Pachoumi's book. I might appreciate pointers of course, but my current plan is I figure I'll probably just read Jake Stratton Kent's works, whichever I can anyway, and compile notes based on his links between pagan gods and the demons of the goetia and the grimoire traditions at the same time as collecting PGM notes. Should be fun stuff!

4 Tips for Getting More Cash When Recycling Your Catalytic Converters
Tumblr media
Whether you want to remove one part or sell a pallet load, you’ll have less trouble and potentially make more cash by doing it right. Recycling catalytic converters is a booming business, which is both good and (kind of) bad. The good news is obviously that demand for the platinum, palladium, and rhodium in those scrap converters makes it possible to get a decent amount of cash for a catalytic converter. You need to know how to shop around, learn about the parts you have, handle your old parts correctly, and find the right buyer.
1 - Shop Around Before Recycling Your Converters You wouldn’t sell an old car to the first person who made an offer if you had a choice. Right? Trying two or three converter buyers should get you a higher price. This should be easy enough and if you are recycling catalytic converters by the gross, you’ll end up making a good deal more money. Bear in mind that a $10 price difference multiplied by 144 old converters is $1,440. That’s a pretty decent return for doing just a little bit of extra research. Beware! You can undermine the value of your parts by careless handling.
On a related note, understand that there are different ways of recycling your catalytic converters if you have a large number of cats to sell. Normally, you would just sell the whole converter to a recycler. They take it from there. You may also use a company to hedge the metals on your behalf.
2 – Know What You’ve Got You’ll want to know a couple of things about your cat before you go shopping for a buyer. The most obvious thing is the model number. This will be stamped somewhere on the part. Of course, age and mileage may have made it hard to read. Use still wool to give the area a light polishing if corrosion and grime make the part number unreadable.
The not-so-obvious thing you want to know is whether you are holding an original part or an aftermarket part. Aftermarket converters tend to have smaller amounts of PGMs, and you get less cash for a converter with less precious metal in it. You can often tell a non-original part by the arrow stamped on the case, to tell a technician which way to install it.
3 - Handle with Care If you have exhaust systems with catalytic converters, you need to remove the exhaust pipes with care. Do not remove the honeycomb material inside. You might be able to sell them but it will be impossible to get full value for the material. Why? The smelter or recycler doesn’t know exactly what they are dealing with. That means they don’t quite know how much PGM material they can recover.
That is only one of two problems. Another problem is that rough handling can knock off pieces of the honeycomb. The tiny amount of PGMs is reduced even more. Some buyers are reluctant to take damaged honeycombs and damaged converters. So, don’t be too rough, and don’t attempt to remove the “biscuit” at a junkyard or garage.
Cut away the exhaust pipe leading into and away from the converter, as the recycling company will have to do this so, and will make you pay for the extra labor. You’ll also end up better off financially by using a company experienced in recycling catalytic converters.
4 – Go to an Experienced Company An increasing number of scrap yards and recycling companies are buying up converters. Given the demand for those scarce PGMs, this just makes sense. However, not all companies that buy old cats are equally good buyers. This is true for a few different reasons. Some companies may be hoping to buy low and sell high, getting parts for a fraction of what they’d get if they were sold directly to a recycler who knows how to extract the metals.
Always trust your parts and your profits to an experienced specialist. They’ll know how to de-can your converters without damaging the cores. The company will be experienced at hedging the precious metals inside, to get you the best price. Pricing things accurately means having access to detailed information on what different models are worth, and how that value changes with ups-and-downs in the PGM markets.
The main part of your quote will come from the scrap value of PGMs. A catalytic converter with 1 gram of rhodium, 4 grams of palladium, and 4 grams of platinum contains at least $500 in precious metals. All converters contain steel that has some scrap value.
Cash in on Catalytic Converters
Once you understand how to handle and price converters, you are well-prepared to find the right buyer for one converter or several hundred. You’ll want to get recent and reliable pricing too, which is why Belanger created their Group Catalyst app. You can quickly price converters and keep a record of what you have. Visit their site today for Android and iOS download links.
