Tokyo in April is My Beautiful Man meets Our Dating Sim and that is why every last one of you should be watching it.
It's two men who've been pining for each other for over a decade after a separation that they each blame themselves for and who are coming back together by accident in an advertising company only to discover that they both still care... but now they've got a decade behind them of pain and misunderstandings and loneliness.
Ren is a closed off, hurt and scarred by their years apart because he likely blames himself for Kazuma's illness when they were younger while Kazuma views himself as Ren's inferior and is the most earnest and open book in the world but will take the crumbs he can get just for the sake of getting anything from Ren.
It is everything to me and everyone should watch this show, okay? Just do it. @absolutebl I'm campaigning for another show.

I noticed something in S10e16, besides the fact that this is an amazing episode, at the end of the episode where they are all at Steve’s house to surprise Danny with movie night. Because Steve was worried about Danny even though he said otherwise. What I noticed is that when they are snuggling on the couch, Steve has his arms around Danny and Brooke because there is no space, but Danny also doesn’t have space with his arms. He could put his arm around Tani, but he doesn't. So the only other solution is that he has to lean more on Steve. And that made me think about Danny falling asleep halfway through the movie and falling on top of Steve’s chest while Steve tightens his arm around Danny and looks adoringly at him. Then at the end of the movie, when he doesn’t want to wake up Danny and kind of awkwardly looks at the team as they clean up for him, and then he slowly slides out from under Danny to see everyone out and then tucks Danny in properly, and that is so cutee. Also, could you imagine Danny waking up the next morning all confused because he doesn't remember falling asleep, but he doesn't ask Steve because he is embarrassed and partly because the team keeps teasing him about it, with good meaning. Could you imagine him meeting Brooke again after that at school, I wonder how that conversation would go, haha.

It's never not funny to me when Barry comes out of nowhere and just summarily mauls a villain. He's got temper issues and buddy, you just became the outlet for it.

do you know what struck me while watching that ep?? it feels so much like bad buddy ep 11. that high of joy and love and being together, but this unspoken thing is hanging over everything, that this can’t be forever, that it’s not feasible, not maintainable. it’s seizing joy while you can, it’s escaping reality for a fantasy of love and simplicity and happiness. it’s not speaking of the things that have to be spoken about, the future, the relationship, how it’s actually gonna work in the real world, where it’s not that simple, where they can’t just be. it’s a bittersweetness so I ate to that high, it’s not spoken, you don’t see it in their actions, its not present in that way. it’s this looming inevitability that you as the watcher know is there, and no matter how much you wanna enjoy what you’re watching, you can’t forget it. you can’t ignore that you know it can’t be forever. they know it and we know it and yet none of us are saying it, the elephant in the room. they have to go back. and that hurts.

I’ve heard people say the Gideon the 9th reads like a fanfiction before and I will say that they are right, with that being a incredibly high praise.

When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at
but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.
When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.
What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? That’s so wonderful! What an innovative construction! Isn't language wonderful?"
